The atmosphere is amazing, the chocolate is amazing, the people are amazing. I love how this little shop cares so much about where their ingredients and supplies come from.In terms of the actual chocolate, its delicious. We ordered the Mayan drinking chocolate and it was decadent. Not too spicy, not too sweet, it really let you focus on the quality of the chocolate.I absolutely will be coming back.

Hidden gem on Elm Street!! Ive lived in downtown Manchester for 5 years and Ive always walked right by here thinking it was an uppity chocolate shop... But not at all! It was so cute and cozy and unique! It was an awesome date afternoon and we enjoyed spicy drinking chocolate (which is NOTHING like my suspicion predicted another name for hot chocolate) while chatting and occasionally asking questions of the owner who so friendly and informative! We will definitely go back again!! Highly recommend checking it out if you havent already!!

The Mayan Hot Chocolate is the highlight of my 2021.First of all, when you walk in, the rich chocolate smell, is so dense it goes right through the masks were all obligated to wear. The hot chocolate is thick, and creamy, with just enough spice to tingle; but not enough to take away the richness of the chocolate. Its incredible. (Probably better than Dandelion in San Francisco; but its been a long time, so Id have to taste theirs again.)Full disclosure: I worked in a nostalgia candy shop that served supposedly high-end chocolates for nearly 5 years; and Dancing Lion makes us taste like a Hersheys bar.If you are in Manchester. Skip the coffee, and stop here in the AM.

This place is AMAZING! The owner is super passionate about chocolate and you can tell by the quality of his creations. This past Saturday my boyfriend and I went out to dinner and we skipped dessert so that we could stop here afterwards. We were so happy with that decision. It was Dessert Night and the chocolate cake they served was delicious! We even tried some of the drinking chocolate mixed with espresso and an americano and both were delightful.

Dont you love it when you stumble upon greatness when you were expecting the norm? Ever bite into magic instead of mediocre? Dancing Lion Chocolate is nothing less than stellar! What I intended to be a nice treat for my son turned out to be a gift for both of us. The gift was not only the spectacular chocolates, ice cream, and sandwiches that were all pieces of art, but the gift was also the meeting of genuinely great people. The lunch we enjoyed (ice cream first 😀) was caramel swirl fraiche. Calling this beautiful creation, ice cream doesnt do it justice! Its far better than just ice cream. The flavors danced in our mouths. We then had the Puerto Rican sandwich made with Mallorca sweet rolls, aged cheese and aged meats with a hint of chocolate...3 chocolate morsels to be exact, just enough to give it a bit of unexpected taste. Even the best description wont fully describe the beautiful flavors that came together for our lunch. We will go back and see the friendly faces and taste magic again very soon. If only everyone and every business could be this great, we would all be dancing! 5 stars isnt enough for this level of perfection. Thank you to Dancing Lion Chocolate for being the highlight of our day in Manchester. ❣️Sherri and Bronson from Maine.

Fantastic chocolates and beverages! I took off the 1 star because I was a bit disappointed with the last chocolate sampler box when one of the spots wasnt chocolate at all (some kind of fruity jelly candy), and the brownie I bought didnt mention coconut but was loaded with it. Still very much worth the trip and price point though.

Im glad I was able to try their rose blackberry chocolate homemade ice cream. It definitely taste like rose, and they have huge chunks of chocolate in there, but not sweet chocolate, so it complemented well with the sweetness of the ice cream. It cost about $5, pretty expensive for the amount, but its gourmet and probably the best thing in this strip.

We arrived this establishment at 9:55 pm on a Saturday and we almost talked ourselves out of it because we felt bad showing up five minutes before closing. We are so glad we decided to go anyway. The woman who assisted us was spectacular and explained everything. We apologize for not getting her name.I had a bowl of the drinking chocolate, the non-spicy variant, and while I did sense the slightest hint of spice, it was excellent. Unlike any hot chocolate I have ever had. Coming in ay $6.75 for a bowl size, the value is definitely there. My wife had a tea and a fig and cardamom brownie which was excellent. We will absolutely be back and we loved meeting Barbara as well. Thank you again. Highly recommend.

Amazing chocolate, desserts, and coffee. Dancing Lion is my go-to whenever I have money burning a hole in my pocket, and Ive never regretted anything Ive gotten there. The staff are very knowledgeable, and have been able to provide all sorts of information about ingredients, sourcing, etc. The love that everyone at Dancing Lion has really shines through in every truffle and brownie. We commissioned them to make our wedding favors in June of 2017, which were a huge hit. We had absolutely no problems with placing the order and our guests still mention our chocolates to us over a year later!Im also a member of their bar of the month club, which is a great deal for anyone that enjoys chocolate. Ive really gotten to expand my palette and try new things. Like Ive said before, Ive never been disappointed! Is Dancing Lion chocolate expensive? No, not when you think of the quality of what youre getting and the amount of skill and love that its made with. This place is a destination for any foodie.

I think I know good chocolate. I tried two things: 1) Spicy Mayan Heat drinking chocolate, and 2) a Small Box $25.00 assortment. The drink was different than youd expect, though the helpful folks working there (including the chocolatier!) described it accurately. Rather than a thick dark drink, its thinner, spicy, and chocolatey but in a different way. (Sorry I cant be more articulate.) So: no complaints on #1! Give it a try. For the assortment, I found it a mixed bag. First, at $5/piece, it should be amazing, and some of them were quite good. At the same time (and again, Im used to fine chocolate where the pieces are not very large), the value was not great. Some of them are pretty thin, and one of the five was simply a solid piece of (very tasty!) chocolate. The chocolatier was enthusiastic about his sourcing, and kudos for that. And no doubt his small batches are time-consuming. However, I think theyre a bit too expensive (hence the 4/5 stars). Still, very very good work. I hope thats fair.

These chocolates are an art form, a unique and exciting experience, and deserve the honors bestowed upon them,I’ve always loved fine chocolates, so at age 80, thought I’d tasted it all. For the first time ever a small gift box whispered, “savor tiny bites, don’t over indulge.” Impossible was my belief. But somehow I respectfully obliged. After considerable time actually tasting the tiny bites and focusing, the combination of unusual ingredients made me feet happy, like I was over-indulging, yet I had only sampled 1/3 of four unique beautiful pieces ? My Dancing Lion box closed now, I recalled my experience from memory, something I’ve never done before. It will remain sealed ‘til I can’t wait any longer. I hope all visits equal this one! What I do know is this candy taught me how to savor an edible I may never have the opportunity to taste again. I also know that, before this box runs low, I will have another waiting, this I can’t live without!Seema Boesky
