This watering hole and eatery is one of the best spots in town!! My man Jesse the bartender has a great personality and served up some robust drinks and the staff (including his wife) were incredibly professional!! Hope to see yall real soon!! Check them out inside the Century Hotel!!!
Great food. I was staying at the hotel and visited the restaurant twice. Everyone was so friendly. Bartenders, servers, host. I cant wait to visit again. You can tell they love to have the best food and drinks. Very welcoming. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and was a special treat to myself. Thanks for the great experience.
We had a marvelous dinner at The Century House - my lady had a Lobster Tail dinner & had a Prime Rib dinner! Both dinners were out of this world....for dessert we each had chocolate mousse - again, out of this world in taste & quality! Our compliments to Abby our server. She was most professional, courteous & attentive! Jennifer our hostess was most professional & helpful to seating us & in accommodations! Our compliments to the chef! Also, Emily and Kelly provided excellent service as well. I highly recommend The Century House for exceptional food & service! 🍷🍽🍽🍷
This is a quaint and beautiful hotel. On closer inspection, the beauty is only skin deep. Walking in socks it was obvious that there were, what felt like, wires and cables underneath the carpet. Also, while the wallpaper looks good, it is clear that the wall behind had not been smoothed before the wallpaper went up. Bumps and dimples along the wall. Not that big of deal, but not good. A bigger deal was that the curtains were torn. It looked like someone had slashed them with a knife and the seam was coming apart. The curtains still closed. The bed was comfortable. I liked the furniture, matched the decor and feeling of the hotel.I didnt try the restaurant. The breakfast was good. Hot food and metal cutlery. They had corned beef hash for breakfast. I found it odd, but the hash was good, if not a little heavy on the onions.
We had the most perfect wedding reception at the Century House. From the first time we toured the facility with Phil, we knew we wanted to have our wedding there. The reception packages were affordable, and we especially loved that we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all on-site. We wanted to get married outside under the tent, and it was nice knowing that there was a back-up location in the event of rain. And what do you know, it rained on our wedding day right before the ceremony. Phil and his team had everything ready to go inside in a crazy fast amount of time. Phil was amazing to work with from start to finish - he was receptive to all of our questions, and so well-organized (which I loved). He helped us through every step of the process and was there day of making sure everything was perfect. The rest of the staff at Century House who worked the wedding were INCREDIBLE too. They boxed up all of our decor and had it waiting outside of our room, and even filled our refrigerator with food from the wedding!! I would absolutely recommend the Century House to anyone looking for a reception venue that has it all, and a team that truly cares about their couples.
A pleasant, calm hotel experience. No noise problems at all, really nice free breakfast with real napkins, plates, and silverware. The restaurant is top notch, but it is expensive. Lots of nearby places to eat if your food budget is limited. Had a great meal with friends in the charming dining room. Pleased to see familiar staff from previous visits, so kudos to management for managing to keep good staff through the pandemic!
A lovely older hotel right off the main highway. The room was convenient, clean and comfortable. We appreciated the large mini-refrigerator with freezer compartment to keep items cold as we were on a multi-day road trip and carrying some of our food. The breakfast had limited but good hot options (eggs, potatoes, etc.) and the breakfast room was large and had good hours.Service was friendly and helpful.
Tonight we had the prime rib special. It was excellent
Nice atmosphere. Food was ok. Great drinks.
Next to hotel so that was good. $22 for a cheese steak 👎
The room is really filthy, moldy lampshades, dusty fabric headboards (no idea how they would ever keep those clean between guests anyway).Dust on the decor and spiderwebs on the corner.I really wanted to love this place and I walked in the room thinking wow until we looked closer.Compared the lampshades to the photos on their website and everything thinking maybe they were supposed to be spotted. They are not. Theyre just moldy. Was also told wed be able to order from the restaurant but nobody even answered the phone when we called around 5:30.If this was supposed to be for a really special event like a wedding Id be really upset.Im usually pretty chill but moldy lampshades is pushing it way too far for me.
The Century House staff is so pleasant and welcoming. Very pleasant setting. Room is very cute and comfortable. They have a really nice restaurant. It is a little pricey but our meal and dessert was delicious. Our waitress Eliza was wonderful and very cheery and pleasant. Great place. Definately will stay again and already sending pics and telling family and friends about them. In this day and age it is so nice to be in a place that is there to serve their customers. Thank you Century House!
Hotel was super clean and nice for the price and top notch food at the restaurant. We met so many cool people including the staff that made our stay so great! We went to Dave Matthews at SPAC the first night and for the 2nd night of the show we ended up gifting our tickets to someone there and staying as we enjoyed the atmosphere at the century house bar more then a concert we waiting 2 years to see! They also had great recommendations of places to see around the area and we ended up tumbling upon some awesome scenic waterfalls along our journey and a very interesting outdoor flea market. Absolutely awesome time at the bar and restaurant area and hotel was very nice. We will be back!! Get ready for some drinks 🍺
Very disappointed !! Spent $$$$ for a room that was smelled of mold. The room was extremely dusty, and actually dirty around the windows. When the AC unit was turned on at night the mold smell became so intense, that my wife and i experienced respritory issues, and my wife became ill and required medical attention when we returned home. I struggled for days, due to my respritory condition and sensitivity to mold and dust. We actually had to wipe the entire rooms surfaces down to minimize the situation, but was unsuccessful. The staff inspected the room and and agreed with us, and moved us to another room for the final night, but we were exposed to these conditions for 3 nights.Totally unacceptable!!!!!The rest of the facility was charming and full of character, and the staff throughout the facility were friendly. However they should not have charged us the PREMIUM prices for that unhealthy roomThe unit on the left is the newer unit in the room we stayed in for the final night, the other older unit is the one that dispersed mold when it was turned on. The staff member acknowledged that the unit was an issue because it was on the shady side of the building.YET THEY BOOKED THAT ROOM TO NOT ONLY IS, THEY PUT SOMEONE ELSE IN THAT ROOM ON THE VERY SAME DAY THEY MOVED US OUT !!!THEY NEED TO RESOLVE THAT ROOMS ISSUE, AND MY EXPERIENCE !!!!I WILL KEEP READERS POSTED WITH UPDATES.
I came for a rehearsal dinner. Food and service for the dinner was excellent. Service at the bar was less than expected. One bartender was terrific.
Their food used to be good. But I was so embarrassed that everything was too salty, overcooked, and the bread in my French onion soup was like a brick, and the cheese in the Caesar salad was like a piece of wood. I will never eat there again.
Attended a wedding here last weekend as a vendor. The staff is on point. Great people to work with. 10 out of 10 would recommend this venue for large events.
Really like this spot. They do need to do something about the new bathrooms. My coworker slipped because its so slippery. When we reported it to the people working the that morning he had now idea what to do. We had a early flight so we where to call after 10 and got the run around. Other then that it was a very nice place. FYI the restaurant food was 6 out of 10.
Always the best horderves whenever I go for any event! Great bar and nice staff too!
As a newly transplanted Texan, Ive been searching for my white whale. I finally found it with The Century House Restaurant. They cooked me an excellent medium rare NY Strip, seared to perfection. The asparagus and potatoes were also amazing.Ive been hunting a great steak for 5 months, and yall satisfied at a great price too.I will definitely be back.
Went to a baby shower there. It is a lovely hotel and staff were very professional
The prime rib dinner was awesome as well the award winning lobster mac and cheese that was so delicious the fiance couldnt get enough of it
Absolutely perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and whole experience as the staff were all super friendly and easy going! We made some really awesome new friends and will be back again! Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay as far as the hotel goes and the food at the restaurant and the atmosphere at the bar area was superb! The bartender and his wife were some of the best we have ever seen, serving multiple tables and full bar all with a smile on their faces and they actually took the time to get to know everyone and share stories and laughs! Awesome job to all of the staff at the Century House!! The location is super close to Saratoga/ SPAC without the high end Saratoga pricing, but trust me the grounds, pool area, inside and outside of hotel were spotless and everything was super clean. The full breakfast was the icing on the cake and the weddings were abundant, filling the air with love and happiness throughout the whole building, couldn’t say more good things about our stay!
We stayed at the hotel while ago - couple years when were on our cross country road trip. Best hotel best homemade hash for breakfast. Came to late to try restaurant. Definitely our number one place to stay on our upcoming trip. We were fantasizing about that hash and hotel since there. So excited to stop there again this July! Thank you!
Very good meal. Excellent service. We are from out of town and would visit again. Highly recommend!
Just had dinner with friends. I ordered the fish and chips. The waiter delivered a salmon dinner to me. I told him I ordered the fish and chips that looked so good at other tables. It was large pieces of nice haddock with crisp fries. Very nice looking. He removed the salmon, apologized and said I would get my correct order in a few minutes. When he came back with my dinner I didn’t get the nice haddock and fries served to others. I received 3 pieces of Gordon’s battered fish sticks that I can buy a box for $3.00 at Price Chopper. I didn’t complain because we were with friends we hadn’t seen in a long time. But I’ve been a Century House customer for 40 years dating back to when Kevin O’Hearn worked the entrance, and I get served Gordon’s fish sticks for a premium price. Whoever decided to send this out of the kitchen should be taken to task.
I cant even express my gratitude and overwhelming opinion of The Century House. Many people do not know that The Century House has corporate long-term stay apartments. Due to business travel, I rented a 2 bedroom-2 bathroom apartment at The Century House. If you have ever stayed at a Time Share for vacation, this is an example of the type of unit you will get at The Century House. Granite Counter Tops, Full Kitchen, dining room and the beds are as comfy as my bed at home. I have family in the area but having my own apartment nearby was priceless. My daughter and her fiance were able to come and stay a few nights, we hosted my sisters birthday dinner in our unit and many nights had dinner onsite at The Century House restaurant. A restaurant that is comparable to many upscale restaurants and where you can see the owner of Century House greeting the guest. The maintenance staff and front lobby staff set the standard for professionalism and customer service. I work in the senior housing industry and hospitality is my field. You have to visit this place to understand why I took the time to write this long review. Monica is the manager and she will treat you like family.
This is the best restaurant in the area. Must try the prime rib...
The atmosphere is definitely charming. You wont find anyplace that gives off the same kind of feeling to this restaurant. Regardless, their food still needs work. It was very salty—very, very salty. Everything seemed to be made quickly with no care to measurement or attention. Food was unfortunately very disappointing. They could do much better with an atmosphere like theirs.
A very clean, personable & safe stay. The staff is very kind & management obviously goes above & beyond to ensure guests are satisfied.
Modern and nice. Breakfast was fine. Nothing too special but good. I will say that we requested a crib aka pack and play and there was no mattress.... luckily be had brought ours so it wasnt a big deal.
Beautifully appointed room with classy touches! Front desk, breakfast servers, and housekeeping have all been stellar! We would absolutely recommend this property!
The menu was definitely not what it was in the past. Although there were wonderful additions as the Meatball onion soup, there were other problems. We feel there must be a different cook as many things (potatoes, risotto, scallops) were blasé. Additionally, although this has never happened in our long history of patronizing this restaurant, we were told that we couldn’t have a side of the “Brussels sprouts”that came with another dish, as it was only for the one dish, and likewise we could not get the “garlic frites” that were described as accompanying a certain.dish, as a substitute for the fries that came with my chosen dish. Was told these were available only for those specific dishes they were listed for. Really! None Xtra at all for requested sides? Never had this experience at this restaurant before, and feel there must be a new chef, or that the server was just being difficult. Will not be dining there again in the near future.
Excellent service and high quality food. Great atmosphere.
Nice hotel...water pressure in the shower could be a little better. Prime rib at the restaurant is as good as they and everyone says.
Always good creative foods for events. Room was very hot though. Need more AC.
Excellent hotel with outstanding restaurant attached. Rooms are clean and comfortable and newly updated!
Excellent hotel, ambience, very clean. Staff is very courteous. Breakfast is excellent.
Always good food. They have a pretty good steak too.
Wonderful place. Great food and great staff. A hidden gem!!
Update: Went again and food was outstanding. Same impeccable service too. Wish we lived in Albany!!Food wasn’t bad. Service was impeccable. :)
Best bartender in the capitol region! Ask for Jesse he is very attentive, quick and knowledgeable. Id suggest this for dining with the whole family or just stopping in solo. As the bar is very comfortable and welcoming. The menu has a nice a variety for any picky people out there.
Had a great meal, the restaurant was clean, and everything we had was tasty.
Very good food, atmostphere was pretty casual. The dining area is very rustic and eligant.. oh and our server was awesome!
Friendly staff. Room clean, well appointed. Room redone since our last stay there - kind of industrial farmhouse. Quite nice. Good safety precautions for current environment and great workaround to provide breakfast. Also had dinner delivered to room from Century House Restaurant. Excellent!
Service was great. Food was B+/-. We chose their specials. We may have done better with the traditional entrees.
Easy place to crash after landing in Albany.
Always delightful & deliciousSurf & Turf, and the UnParmService is always friendly & attentive
A wonderful place for a wedding.
Wonderful experience, exceptional service. Many new menu items. These folks continue to offer a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and top of the line appetizers, entrees and desserts. They deserve your support.
Wow! Best prime rib Ive ever had. Lobster tail was tender and sweet. Mashed potatoes, veggies, salad were fresh. Shrimp cocktails were tasty and the sauce was delicious. Seafood Fra Diabolo had a nice bite(sauce), glasses of wine were abundant. Our server Steve was attentive and thorough. A delightful evening as we celebrated Valentines day ❤️
Room was gorgeous and clean. Bed was comfortable and my son really enjoyed the corner chair and the work station.
I went there a year ago the food was excellent then I want a couple weeks ago and the quality wasnt as good
We Had A Great Family Get together and My Father in laws 85th Birthday Party
Stayed at the hotel. Nicely updated and the restaurant had great food! Looking forward to going back.
I ordered room service during my stay in the hotel. I ordered the surf and turf (prime rib and a lobster tail) and they were unfortunately sold out of the prime rib. Instead, I got the CAB steak with a lobster tail. Yumm!!! It came with au jus, roasted potatoes, green beans and grape tomatoes. I also got their horseradish sauce on the side and Im glad I did. It was cooked perfectly and so well seasoned! I am still thinking about it 5 days later. The one critique I would give is the room service ordering system. You call the restaurant and leave a message and the message tells you they only have 1 phone line so you may not get a confirmation call back for 25 minutes. They do encourage you to use their online food ordering system which is set up to order as pickup or delivery. I couldnt figure out how to order as room service so someone could bring it to me vs me having to walk there to get it. I ordered by leaving a message and waited for 25 minutes with no call back and no answer in the restaurant. Eventually I had to call the front desk and ask them to reach the restaurant for me so I could confirm my order was in.I have now eaten from the restaurant 3 times and love love love the steaks Ive had!! I will genuinely drive 25 miles from my house to get this food on occasion. But if they could come up with a new slightly revised plan for their room service ordering system, that would definitely be a nice change.
Amazing job today for a family event food was excellent waitstaff Amazing. I would highly recommend.
I would like to shine a spotlight on Liz, one of the servers at The Century House. She made my brother’s wedding (which was significantly reduced due to COVID regulations last weekend) feel so special. She wore a mask and gloves and served our food promptly. She accommodated my son’s peanut allergy for his dinner order and made him smile. She radiated such a positive energy that our table couldn’t help but notice! Give this server who has worked at The Century House for 10 years a raise!
I have to give it one star to write a review Ive ordered the prime rib the scallops and the burger on different occasions the food had no taste they dont use any kind of seasoning the burger was tuff the scallops tasted like nothing and could of used a better char I will never order here again
Great place. Worth the extra penny. Friendly. Tasteful. Clean. Would definitely stay here again. One small complaint is the rooms do not have carpet, which is good for cleanliness, but if you sleep downstairs you can here the people above you. Maybe I’ll request an upstairs room next time.
Such lovely atmosphere. It fell of my radar after all these years. Thankful for open table for reconnecting us.
I was extremely disappointed with The Century House. My partner was traveling to this town for an IVF at the nearest clinic. One employee, a male, was not wearing a mask at all. There were four young men, in the halls, all not wearing a mask and unscrewing the light bulbs in the hallway. On Saturday night 12/5/2020, the restaurant was full of people. This hotel clearly caters to people who visit the fertility clinic, since they offer a discount for patients that stay at the hotel. To not mandate that employees wear masks, or allowing them to not wear them, and to allow guests to roam the halls freely without masks is dangerous, especially to those who are going to a medical facility for reproductive health needs.
We could not complain at all about our accommodations in the hotel. Staff was so friendly and helpful and we thought the breakfast offerings were ingenious! We are impressed with you continuing to offer guests free breakfast despite the demands being instituted at this difficult time.We were fairly disappointed about one thing. Our booking was done through hotels.com and we were excited to find a place with an outdoor pool. That was our number one priority. I even called the hotel directly to inquire if it was really open. When we arrived we were informed that the pump on the pool was broken and it was closed. We were downhearted and hoped it would have been repaired before we left but it was not.Otherwise, you have a lovely property and best wishes for continued success throughout the pandemic.
Great food and service will be making this more ofna regular routine.
Cannot say enough great things about our experience tonite!! It is my mom and dads 50th wedding anniversary. We(my brother and our families) were able to give my parents just what they needed!! Jen L., the manager was absolutely AMAZING!!! Sooo accommodating and excited to help make this special for my parents!! We had our own room that was so cozy and intimate, and she placed candles all around. It was breathtaking!! Our servers were great and food was perfect!! Dessert tray was to die for!! Im going to be raving about our experience for awhile for sure!! THANK YOU again Jen and Century House for making this day a special one!!!
Super friendly staff, great food and newly renovated rooms. I highly recommend for great food or overnight stay.
Beautiful venue, great food and friendly staff
Our stay at the Century House was far beyond exceptional. Earlier in the night, we have a banquet in the main dining hall which was fantastic! After our event, we stayed in the hotel in which when we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a brief description of our accommodations. When stepping into the room, the rustic decor and colors were so relaxing! The next morning, the hotel offered a cold/hot breakfast which again was great as we were expecting cereal and toast, but they offered scrambled eggs, sausage, and french toast. Our stay was hands down amazing!
The Century House was a fantastic place to stay in the Albany area. Our room was brand new and extremely clean. There were so many thoughtful touches - hot towels, soup, coffee and board games in the lobby, and a free warm cookie delivery service! Shortly after check-in, I received a welcoming text message from the woman at the front desk. She made sure everything was in order, and was very responsive when I had a question. I would definitely stay here again!
This restaurants is amazing! It starts with a rustic, brick, candle-lit glow atmoshere/decor. Wonderful fireplace, friendly dynamic and attentive staff ensure that your visit is comfortable. The prime rib is just great, worth the trip just for that alone! Nice selection of beer and good wine list. The seafood is prepared so well...a spicy dish (spicy marinara) called Seafood Fra Diavolo was just excellent...and the larger house Salad is huge and tasty...the shrimp cocktail, huge shrimp! If you want to have a great dining experience, not be rushed out of the door, this is your next stop!! A fantastic experience, highly revommended!
Ive always heard great things about the century house but I do not recall ever experiencing it until recently when I attended a friends wedding. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Lets begin with the hotel. At first I was skeptical because when I walked in and down the hall to my friends room it felt very dated and I was afraid of what I was going to see on the other side of the door. The room was beautiful!! I love exposed beams, it had great color, I loved the barn style door and overall feel. I was told that they have been doing renovations lately and I think it looks great. My friends ceremony was very intimate (less than 20 guests). The room where the ceremony took place had great lighting and a nice fireplace. The room where dinner was served was beautiful. Wooden tables, fireplace and private. The staff was friendly and the food was great!!! The property outside is nice as well as it has great landscaping and private nooks.
My husband and I stayed here recently for four nights. We were in town for a wedding and the reception was held at this hotel. We cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was here. The people, from the desk to the breakfast to housekeeping to the restaurant were warm, open, inviting, and accommodating. We travel often and this has to be one of the best stays we have had in a long time. We stayed in a recently refreshed room and the decor was comfortable, updated, and homey. The breakfast each morning was very good as was the food in the restaurant. The wedding reception was very well done also: great decor, plenty of tasty food, and comfortable rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers as well as to any prospective brides searching for a perfect wedding venue. Id love to see this place in the summer, as we were there in February, and so we might just have to return for a vacation in the future. Monica and Fran were kind and personable, while Liz went above and beyond during the reception service. I wish I would have learned the housekeeping/breakfast servers name, but she was kind, accommodating, funny, and personable as well.
Great food and drinks. Very pleasant staff.
I live in hotels every week and I gave this hotel 5 stars from my personal experience. Im 38, old fashioned, so the outdated look of this hotel was perfect for me. The beds were very comfortable to me and thats a plus. I havent had a wonderful breakfast from a hotel in a long time. The food was great and had a very nice selection to choose from. The best part of my whole stay, was the front desk staff. Every single one of them was very polite and respectful. Definitely a top notch hotel in my eyes. I will definitely stay there again in the future.
First time out to dinner since Covid-19. Outdoor dining at The Century House was fabulous. Jen and her staff were excellent! The food was wonderful and they have created a really lovely ambiance with class! Five stars from this family.
IF I have another opportunity stay here again. I will. This hotel is very cozy and made my stay very comfortable . I wish I could have stayed a little Longer. The beds were comfortable. The Kettle of warm soup and crackers is a nice touch. The complementary continental Breakfast was very good. The employees in all areas were polite. And it was like they could read my mind! Coffee.................. ! and if you need a little snack the cookie hotline is a nice touch.
I was here for a conference today and have attended several conferences here. Nice conference room. Lunch, morning coffee, and service all great. Ive eaten at the restaurant in the past and it was excellent. Havent stayed in the hotel but everything is nicely decorated and very clean. Id recommend to my family and friends.
This was an unexpected find. I come from close to NYC and you often dont expect much outside the city in terms of staff and amenities. This place is an exception. Staff beyond friendly and helpful in every way. Charming colonial restaurant attached, with very good food. Rooms were being refurbished as were stayed there. The decor trend away from the colonial ( which I actually like) toward a very modern look. The modern look was tasteful and the room was very clean. The place is in the environs of Albany and Saratoga I understand, but check a map. I was there for a conference and all the meeting rooms were spacious and pleasant. No problems here at all.
I was absolutely blown away when I arrived at The Century House! My husband and I stayed two nights for my friend’s wedding. The environment is warm and inviting at first sight. And the staff is just as inviting. The rooms was large, clean, and very comfortable. The chef-cooked breakfast each morning was delicious. I would absolutely stay here again with my husband for a weekend get away!
The feeling there as soon as you walk in the front door was of elegance. The room had charm and character. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Wish we could have ate at the restaurant connected to the hotel. We would stay again definitely.
3-2020 Hotel just had a wonderful major redo of the rooms. Some of the rooms upstairs aren’t quite done yet. Don’t let that stop you from staying here. You would never know they’re still working on them. Good breakfast selection. Great front desk service. All around clean.
This hotel has a convenient location right off the highway. A great place to night getaway with you partner or host a large event. The restaurant is amazing. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are being updated and are always clean. The breakfast in the morning is top notch.
The capital regions hidden gem! If youre not staying here when youre visiting Albany, why not? The renovated rooms are beyond perfect for relaxation and refreshing. Remind me of rooms we had while visiting Europe. Would easily measure up to any luxury property in the area. Oh and did I mention the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies on demand? Heaven! Exceptional service, accommodations and chef. Have you booked yet?
Beautiful hotel, very traditional but with a modern look - nice. Very welcoming from the soup upon arrival, board games available in the coffee room, etc. The rooms and grounds were very clean and the restaurant and breakfast were very good. My ONE thing I didnt like was the bed was too firm for me - a pillow top would have solved that. Had stiff back for a bit in the morning.
Very beautiful looking to have a wedding here
Food was exceptional and great service.
Convenient to our family, this hotel met our expectations. Comfortable and clean accommodations. Friendly staff...nice extras...soup, breakfast, and cookies! Connects to a nice restaurant ( a bit pricey, but very nice). We will likely return!
Beautiful area, pool, rooms. 3 options for Breakfast. Staff very helpful. Convenient location. Would definitely come back!
We arrived about dark and it had been raining. We were a bit chilled but found a hot cup of soup and a warm fire. What a treat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is charming in an old world kind of way. Clearly a facility from bygone days, but updated and comfortable. Breakfast was superior and we found eating on real dishes instead of Styrofoam plates a welcome touch.
My sister got married at The Century House this past weekend. The whole weekend was prefect and every staff member at the hotel was so great. It was awesome having the reception and rooms right at the same place and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. I would not call them outdated at all.. they have so much character. Plus, the AC worked great and the breakfast in the morning is like no other. As for the wedding, I cannot thank The Century House enough. My family is huge and can be hyper but everyone was so kind and professional. The wedding was perfect and a huge thanks to Phil for being so great from start to finish. Also, a shout out to all of the staff working at the wedding who had smiles on their faces the whole time. You guys are awesome!
I stayed here for one night on a week night. Upon arrival the staff were courteous and friendly. There was a small hiccup when they gave me a room that hadnt been prepared but they fixed that right away. The hotel has a cozy feel to it and an attached restaurant. The room was great. Everything was in good order, it was neat and it was clean. Although the hotel has an older look all the rooms have modern furnishings and nice glass showers. I had no noise issues and the beds and sheets were very comfortable. I have been traveling frequently and this is one of the better stays I have had.The attached restaurant was very nice, I ate at the bar. The menu seemed upper scale and was priced that way. I had a burger and it was quite good. They had a good selection of local beers on tap and the service was great.Checkout was quick and the free breakfast was on par with most. It was nothing memorable but adequate and had a buffet style selection of hot food. Apparently the corn beef hash was the dish most were getting but thats not my thing so I had eggs and sausage and potatoes.Overall this place performed well above what I expected for the price and I would stay again.
I highly recommend this hotel for weddings and events. It is incredibly convenient to have the event in the same location with no need for travel, especially in the colder months. The small size of the Inn, provided personalized attention to the guests and hosts. Newly renovated rooms are tastefully modernized. Just need more task lighting in the room.
I was looking for an alternative to the chain hotels and this hotel was a random choice based on recent reviews. The room was recently renovated and very nice. The hotel is older but has style and a rustic feel. I ate in the bar at the restaurant and the draft beer was super fresh and ice cold served in a frosted glass. The dinner was well prepared and hot. The place seems well nanaged and its a great alternative to staying at a chain that offers the same old what you see is what you get.
I’ve stayed at the Century House multiple times over the past 3 years. I always look forward to my stays here because, 1. I’m picky about a clean room and facility and they deliver every time 2. I want to feel safe and secure whenever I’m in the room or leaving my belongings, they deliver 3. I love my breakfast and they not only deliver a hot and tasty meal, they change it up a little every day
Exceptional! This is our first experience with ordering to go. We ordered prime rib dinners with the horseradish sauce. It came with mashed potatoes, a popover, au jus, beautifully prepared fresh herbed vegetables (whole baby carrots, yellow & green squash). It was all exceptional, even the plating! I’ve never seen such nice to go containers. You remove the cover and it looks like it’s plated on white china. If we weren’t eating it later, I would have served it as it was presented. I forgot about Covid for a moment. Our thanks to the Chef (on Nov. 29th)!!The car side pick up was efficient and the “server” was very pleasant. We will definitely keep ordering to go from The Century House.
Our room was very clean and quiet. The mattress was very comfortable. We were greeted with hot towels, soup, coffee or tea and warm cookies! Service was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great! Much more than I expected at this price point! Would definitely stay again when in the area.
Amazing hidden gem, beautiful clean restaurant with friendly staff in a surprisingly inviting convenient location. This was truly a pleasant surprise and highly recommended.
