Amazing donut! Not really a fan of donut, but I crave for Greenbushs donuts! My all time favorite is old-fashioned. Also workers are super nice. It is a nice local shop that makes you feel like you are a part of community.
Hands down the best donuts in town. Great flavor options (the Oreo and the double chocolate are my favs but the crullers and chocolate peanuts are incredible too). The service is always fast and friendly and it’s so cheap! I LOVE Greenbush
I tried their seasonal donuts and the one with pumpkin filling was super good! I asked the worker for an overview of all the donuts and she explained that it tasted like pumpkin pie filling. She was right!
First time here and the donuts were delicious! The coffee was fantastic as well! Prices were very reasonable!! Will return earlier in the morning to try the long johns since they were out by the time we were there. Staff were very friendly and helpful!!
Donuts are good. The biggest problem is that there is no tag for each kind of donut. They are just put there while no one knows what they are. And the service person was not patient or helpful at all. This is really unfriendly to people who are not familiar with their products.
One of our first stops when returning to Madison. Their goods, by which all others are judged, are fluffy fresh works of art, and the staff make you feel like youre the only one they care about while serving you. Makes me proud and encouraged to support local business when in town.
For a $1.15 doughnut the amount of effort put into make a perfect bite is incredible. The old fashioned doughnuts themselves may not have a large radii but they pack in everything youd want in a doughnut and more: a crispy and fried outer layer, a cakey interior with a bonus delight of sour creme, and topped with a wonderful sugary glaze to match. You better try this if youre visiting Madison. The original / sour creme old fashioned was my favorite. While blueberry was similar, and had a slight taste of sour creme, the original just does it better. Apple cider old fashioned was a good doughnut but not on the same tier as the original.Next time I come back I will have to bring others and get a fritter. Theyre so big that I could not have ordered one on my own.
New location is bright and clean. No parking lot, but usually street parking available. Donuts are the best Ive ever had, anywhere, ever. Treat yourself to an old fashioned donut, theyre amazing. Staff are friendly and fast.
Amazing doughnuts at all hours of the day. The Oreo doughnut is delicious, and the blueberry maple was creative and tasty. They are always super fresh, and inexpensive. Another plus is that they are kosher. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area to stop over!
Best donuts on Campus. If youre having a down day, there is nothing like a Greenbush donut to help lift your spirits and get your day back on track.
It’s hard to find good donuts nowadays… well here’s a place with excellent donuts made with quality like from years ago.
Coffee was great, only had 1 doughnut but really enjoyed it. Seems to have a good offering but nothing looked particularly outlandish or unique.
One of the rare Madison staples that remains, though it is now across the street from its original site. Amazing Donuts. The sour cream old fashioned Donuts are unmatched anywhere. The cake and raised Donuts are very good too. While fancier sounding Donuts with crazy toppings are all the rage(or were) these are the platonic ideal of a donut.
Best glazed donuts Ive had in a long time. Thats my baseline test - Ill definitely be returning for everything else they offer.
Hands down the best donuts in Madison. I love their glazed old fashioned, and can probably eat a whole dozen of them in one go! Theyre just out of this world. The chocolate old fashioned is good too, but a bit too chocolaty for me depending on the day. Their apple fritters are also to die for. I knew they were known for them, but wasnt planning on buying one since Im not too much of a fruity dessert person, but they had samples put out, and I was taken in by the first bite. Just dense enough with the right amount of cinnamon, and only tiny bits of apple. Really good overall. I had to force myself to share it with my friends so I wouldnt eat it all myself and die of a sugar coma.Theyve changed their prices now though, its $1.15 for a single donut and $12 for a dozen. Apple fritters go for $5.5
Donuts were great. We got old fashioned, chocolate cake, and chocolate yeast and all were very good. Also REALLY appreciate that the staff was masked.
Doesnt look like this anymore. Its across and down the street on first level of The Regent. They had no pumpkin donuts!
The best donuts in Madison, no doubt about it. In fact, these might be some of the most delicious, freshly-baked donuts that I have ever had…and I’ve lived in New York.
I tried their old fashioned apple cinammon cake donuts, and it is very delicious.
I just got some apple fritters and they were some of the best apple fritters Ive ever had
I love this place! What a real doughnut is suppose to be! Fresh and fluffy! The smell when you walk in the door is pure heaven!
Awesome bakery, I cant recommend what sweet treat to order BECAUSE ITS ALL AWESOME 🙂 Be sweet to your sweet tooth, stop by today.
I have been enjoying Greenbush donuts for 22 years. Why? Simply put- they are the best. What a wonderful gem of a donut shop. Delicious. Many varieties. I go out of my way to come to Greenbush. Want to surprise friends or family with a treat? Stop in here and pick up a dozen! Or more!! Fritters are huge, and amazing. Everything about Greenbush makes it worth the stop.
Best spot for delicious donuts in Madison. Reasonably priced, lots of variety, and always tastes fresh.
Who doesnt love Greenbush? Best donuts in Wisconsin, and I stop by every time Im back in town. A note if you are driving to their new location in the Regent Apartments though: I recommend parking on the street if you are not driving an SUV/truck. The slope coming out of the parking lot is absolutely brutal, and you likely wont be able to take it slowly because there will be traffic coming at you on Regent. My car (which isnt even low for a sedan/wagon) bottomed out as I left, and I dont plan to enter that parking lot again. Couldnt bring myself to take a star off the rating though.
So delicious. Love the blueberry cake donut. They were observing safety protocols and asked a couple of guests if they would mind waiting to come into the shop.
In my opinion, these are the best donuts in Madison. Hands down. And some of the nicest people selling them, too. This was our first visit to the new location following their move across the street. And it wont be the last. The donuts are every bit as good as you might remember--especially the cake donuts--and there is courtesy parking behind the building.
Best apple fritters on the planet! Love this place.
Awesome local shop with big donuts and fair prices. Apple fritter is the size of a small pizza and is the best tasting one Ive ever had!
Highlight of our Madison visit! Greenbush donuts are great!
Best sour cream old fashioned donuts on the planet!
Kosher donuts are the best! Mazel tov.
Omg their blueberry banana loaf cake and their apple watermelon tarts are something Id imagine heaven has got. One of the best things I love about this place. Is no matter how your day is going. You walk out of this place happy and excited. And I love the freshness of the donuts. Definitely coming back here again and again and again lol.
Love their old fashioned donuts! Definitely worth a try if you haven’t tried them - you may just get hooked!
Out of glazed donuts so verdict still out on my favorite donut but they had great customer service and the apple fritter was one of the best I have had.
The best ever. I just discovered that they have a location on the east side, too!
Soooo many donuts and theyre all delicious. Youll have the most problems with trying to decide what you dont want to eat.
In a world where most donut places have one kind of old fashioned (sour cream glaze) donut at best, I walked into Greenbush to find an entire case full. Original, blueberry, cherry, chocolate, and more. That alone is enough to win me over. Add on the apple fritters larger than my head and I will definitely be coming back! The maple blueberry cake donut was excellent as well, and there was a full range of other types of donut. I was pleasantly surprised to find fresh donuts at 12pm, unlike some bakeries that close in the early afternoon, so this place is perfect for the late-rising donut craver.
I loved this place mainly because they prepare their donuts really fresh, and you can actually see them doing it!Definitely recommend it for a cozy Sunday morning with coffee and donuts.
Loved the donuts! Will be back!
Terrible. Never again will I return. We drove 20 minutes to grab a donut from a shop we had heard about. We walked in super excited. The young man walks out from the back. We ask what he recommends for us to purchase and what’s the most popular purchase. He was short and did not engage. His response was “everything”. We ordered 6 donuts. No customer service or engagement. As we walk out we noticed the super cute donut rug, my sister opens the door, I snap the quick picture (less than 5 seconds) the employee starts yelling “close the door!”, “close the door”. It was the rudest thing ever. The two customers he was attending just stared at us. Embarrassing. This shop should be a fun experience. Or at least some customer service interaction. That employee should not be in that position. Please review any camera footage to verify our story. We will never be back and I will Never bring anyone to visit.
Easy to see why this is a Madison institution! Great donuts, big variety and open late. COVID precautions are a plus.
Ive never been to the new location but I always remember the old location next to Rockys Pizza. I can remember going there in the 90s getting donuts or huge bear claws and taking them to school or sporting events. The only place you should shop for donuts while visiting Madison. If I could give you more stars I would.
Hands down some of the best doughnuts in Madison. Theres a reason theyre a local institution!
Best donuts youll ever have. Very friendly staff.
Amazing donuts. Always fresh and tasty. They make the best donuts in Madison.
Best place to get donuts! Theyre apple fritters are giant.
The best donuts anywhere.
The BEST doughnuts I’ve ever had in my life. I ice that they have such an expansive collection of cake doughnuts. Cake doughnut with vanilla frosting and coconut is my go-to.
Delicious freshly made doughnuts and theyre kosher too! Theres a nice selection and after tasting many of them I think my favorites are the blueberry doughnut (which tastes more deliciously blueberry-ish than any other blueberry doughnut Ive had) and the apple fritter (which was bigger than my head and I shared with 3 other people).
Love the old fashioned donuts, they make my taste buds go nuts!
100% hands down the best donuts in Madison
Highly recommend
Greenbush is a favorite of our family for donuts in the Madison area. They have a great product, however, when visiting this evening (8/15 @7:40pm) we were treated very poorly by an employee. He said sarcastic, rude comments under his breath when instructing us how to follow their new social distancing guidelines, and although we were the only ones in the store, he gave us all of 15 seconds before rudely saying “whats the plan ladies.” to take our order. We were pretty appalled at his behavior and I won’t go into complete detail here with all of the comments, but wanted to document this experience. Very bad customer service by this employee.
Anyone who is a true Madison resident knows that someday you wake up CRAVING Greenbush donuts. And you know that they are the best donuts in town. The staff are always lovely, once one our donuts 🍩 got accidentally dropped and they offered us a few free ones in replacement. No one can say no to greenbush.
First time here, ordered a mix of 2 dozen regular and old fashions for the family. Everyone thought they were delicious! Repeat customer in the future, hopefully next time fritters will be available to try
Drove 2 hours to come here because it was so highly rated. Barely anything is plain. They ruin it with sprinkles.
I’ve never had a donut better than one from Greenbush. At this point I don’t even bother with other places because none of them come close to GB!
The old fashioned donuts were AMAZING, but the other donuts were pretty dry.
Some of us covid testers were surprised today when a staff of yours brought us donuts! It seriously made our day thank you SO much!!
You will not ever regret going to greenbush. The old fashioned is a staple.
My Chocolate Donuts Are Always On Point! #Yum
Love their donuts so much and they are so cheap. This is the place I miss the most from Madison. They always have a great variety of flavors and always so quick! Never a bad experience here!
BEST DONUTS EVER!
One of the absolute best bakeries in Madison. Fresh made donuts every day! They are open late on the weekends too. And they have a parking lot despite being in the middle of downtown Madison. I absolutely love this place and all of their products. Never had a bad experience here. I highly recommend this place if you like donuts.
Best donuts in all of Madison! Amazing donuts at quite reasonable prices!
We used Greenbush Bakery for a donut display for our wedding. We picked five different types and had them stacked on poles for dessert which was a lot more reasonable than sheet cake. This idea was such a hit. Everyone raved about how great the donuts were and we couldnt agree more. We wouldnt go anywhere else in Madison for donuts.
They do one thing, and they do it very well. Donuts. Surprise your coworkers with a dozen or two quality donuts and you will be the hero of the office. You can’t go wrong with any selection. Parking is minimal, but you’re in and out quickly so be patient. Enjoy!
You can get the best doughnut ever only here
Amazing & inexpensive. Friendly and patient associate.
Love the blueberry old fashioned donut! Literally melts in your mouth!
There was a great selection of donuts! My favorite was the raspberry filled
Madisons best doughnuts! The new space looks great! Employees were kind even when they were swamped.
We featured Greenbush donuts on our wedding dessert table, and they were a huge hit! It was easy and affordable to order the donuts and have them delivered to our venue (reasonable $15 delivery fee). Everyone loved the old fashioned blueberry, cherry, and chocolate, and of course the oreo glazed were a hit as well! All of our out of town friends claim Greenbush will be on their list when they return to Madison!
I am a huge donut aficionado. And I mean HUGE. I seek out donuts and pastries in every city I visit, and I am known as the donut girl by many friends and colleagues. And Greenbush is very hard to beat. True, some of their selections arent particularly exciting (I mean, what can you really do with a long john?), but their old fashioned donuts are probably the best I have ever come by. My coworkers in Ann Arbor beg for more, so whenever I visit Madison, I make sure to get a few dozen. One important thing about Greenbush is that they make all their donuts at night, so if you visit in mid-morning or late afternoon, you might not get the freshest donut. Go around 9pm or right away in the morning for prime time.Another thing to note is that the employees are stellar. Always cheerful, and they seem to really care about their jobs. The first time I got a dozen donuts from the store, I realized after carefully picking my donuts that I had left my wallet at a friends house and therefore had no way of paying. Greenbush gave me the dozen (and an extra) for free. Whenever I get some packaged for the seven hour drive to Ann Arbor, they always give me free ones for the road. Great customer service, guys :)
Amazing donuts, but my last visit was very disappointing because the employee helping us behind the counter was unnecessarily snarky and extremely rude! What a shame.
Easily the best donuts in Madison. The old fashions are out-standing. The cake donuts with maple glaze are excellent when available. This place mainly sells donuts. Those looking for other types of pastries might want to go elsewhere.
We sometimes stop after Volleyball games. The guy at the counter is fast and efficient. We please the raised donuts, but all of their items are delicious.
I give this place 3 Stars, Im not a fan. That being said, my fiance loves their donuts. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I am a huge apple fritter fan, the apple fritters here are sometimes raw in the middle. The donuts are basic, and nothing special.
