This place is the best in town for good coffee. They have a ton of options and great coffee selection. They also have a lot of other things to try. Tried the food for the first time and it was great! Highly recommend both the food and coffee. The interior design is also lovely and really just gives off a nice vibe.
Twisted Grounds is a great coffee and food place! I love all the options they provide. Cold brews to lemonade and baked goods to freshly made food! Plus it supports many local businesses and has a great aesthetic
Honestly the prices are steep and kinda unfounded; the food, while tasty, is very clearly premade and reheated. If youre gonna charge $12 for a sandwich plus tip with no servers, maybe make sure its not cold in the middle? However, I cant exactly blame them for it, since the place was packed. Clearly their customers are willing to pay a premium for large windows, couches, and a huge variety of things to order. And their commitment to local sourcing is impressive.Id be really interested to know what their starting wage is. Theyre banking on the nearby development to be successful, this equipment and decor aint cheap. If they just bit the bullet and invested in an actual chef, this could easily be elevated to a destination spot. Less branded merchandise as you walk in the door, but a higher quality product.
Coffee shop offering indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on Sunday mornings. Friendly and accommodating staff. Interior decor is unique and adds character. Perfect location for meeting with friends and acquaintances.
Great for meeting someone for breakfast. I had breakfast bowl and chai, my friend had quiche and coffee. She thought the quiche was good but coffee bitter. We would go there again.
We were excited to have a coffee shop open in our neighborhood, and Twisted Grounds does not disappoint. The coffee is excellent, the menu varied, and the staff is friendly. I look forward to more precedented times when Id be comfortable working there and sipping coffee, but we will be back for carry out again soon in the meantime!
Mesmerized by this wonderful place! So many wonderful choices that makes you comeback for more. You will fall in love with charm of this place. A must to go and check out!!
Drinks are fabulous, breakfast sandwiches are out of this world, atmosphere is great. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a Latte, sandwich, or chill place to hangout. The only real issue is that my wife now has a sesame seed stuck in her teeth.
One of my favorite coffee shops. Food, drinks, environment and staff. Breakfast bowls are awesome and so is the matcha lemonade!!!!! Flat bread are also perfect! Great for dogs with plenty of outdoor seating!
Beautiful place inside. Only stopped in for their lavender honey latte which was delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend
This is the kind of coffee shop that you dont want to leave. Walking in the doors I was instantly smacked in the face with the delicious aroma of breakfast sandwiches and wonderful coffee. The decor is incredibly welcoming and the barista that greeted me was smiling and willing to patiently explain the various options (there are MANY). Although theres currently loud and disruptive construction ongoing nearby, the outdoor seating area is definitely a place that I would want to check out in the future. The house coffee was pretty good, my wife loved her specialty drink.
Great place to get out with your pooch, get a coffee, or a bite to eat and sit outside under the shade of the trees
I may be bias because I work here, BUT I feel that we have amazing staff who do whatever they can to create an amazing experience and increase customer retention. I think the ambiance of the space creates a perfect place for eating lunch, cramming before finals, or just hanging out. The music is always good and Ive never been disappointed by any bakery item. My family really enjoys the convenience of this location, and the exclusive Level 5 Vegan Donuts.DISCLAIMER: No, I was not paid to write this review. I was not asked to write this review. I was not told to write this review. The contents of this review truly are my thoughts of this establishment and I encourage you to come in and form your own pleasant experiences with our staff like I have.
So awesome!!! Amazing live music and a wonderful vibe!! All kinds of food and drink selections, including alcohol:)
I am very happy to have a local coffee shop in our neighborhood. I enjoy stopping in for a crafted latte. Lots of great options. The food menu is good. However, cost of everything is on the high side. Happy to pay a little extra to help in hard times, but a few things are priced excessively high. Be prepared for a well crafted beverage at a premium price.
First time visit today, will definitely be back. Breakfast bowl and Lavender Honey Iced Latte were both fantastic. Great service, nice atmosphere, great spot to visit.
Best mocha in Madison! And they support so many partners in the community and local companies, right down to the supplies they use to create drinks, etc.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I called in an order for two chai lattes and 2 paninis for ~$35. One chai was lukewarm because they made it presumably soon after the order was placed. The other they made after I arrived and paid. Both drinks had a good amount of undissolved powdered chai mix in the bottom. The paninis were supposed to come with mixed greens with balsamic dressing. This was not included at all.I noticed that, at one time, they had markings on the floor indicating 6ft spacing for social distancing because there was shadow on the floor where they were. But the markings have been removed and some other patrons did not social distance while waiting in line.I’m disappointed because this place has good reviews, but I won’t return or recommend it. It was expensive and most definitely not worth the money.
One of my favorite coffee shops in Madison! Delicious drinks and food, plus the inside is cozy, and the outdoor lawn/patio is fantastic!
This place is so fantastic. Its the cute coffee shop that the far east side of madison desperately needed! It has a super cozy feel and I cant wait until there are times we can safely coexist for long periods of time in indoor places because this is ABSOLUTELY going to be where I come to study on Friday nights. Their drinks are fantastic. They do have the option to sub for oat-milk which is a big win for me. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Their food selection is also great and you can make pretty much anything at least vegetarian. They do have dine in right now, for those that feel comfortable doing so, but have tables spaced out which is great. The staff also always have their masks fully on their face, which I cant say the same for some other coffee shops in their area. They offer a 10% student discount AND they have punch cards for buy 10 get one free. Their special board always has something cute and seasonal on it to try and their concoctions are always clever and usually pretty tasty. Im SO glad this place opened up. 10/10 recommend
My favorite coffee shop. This is a great place to grab a drink, possibly a snack as well, and chill out for a couple of hours as you enjoy the relaxing vibe and comfortable seating provided by this establishment. Not to mention the staff is amazing as well! The only complaint I have is that I wish it was open longer.
This is my favorite coffee shop. I try to go every weekend with my BFF. We go so often that some of the staff know us by name already. The coffee drinks here are always good and they consistently taste great. They use JBC coffee which is some of the best and local. Almost everything in the store is local which is awesome. Their food is also amazing. Just stop in and check it out yourself :-)
Ive been a few times now. The inside decor was beautiful, service was good, but so far the food has been below expectation. Sorta like kwik trip quality, but pricier.
Coffee is terrific, both indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful, but I tried getting one of the fruit smoothies for my daughter and it was just a sugar bomb.
Good Coffee banana bread and cookie A little pricey
Very spacious, and great coffee. JBC is a great roaster.
Most expensive latte in Madison. Bad parking situation, like there is not enough.
Great drinks. Great service! Highly recommend the veggie breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast. A chess table at the back if you want to play while you snack or enjoy your favorite beverage. They also have wine and beer available.
Awesome coffee and friendly service!
Really good iced peppermint white mocha, and a great place to walk to with a stroller.
Tasty bakery items and delicious coffee. I love that they offer some vegan options as well and feature Shanty Town bakery items on select days. I still have a lot more drinks that I would like to try but luckily I live not too far away. I have enjoyed all of the drinks so far. The Dirty Zebra Chai was super sweet but was such a nice treat. I cant wait to go back this week to try out more offerings!
Placed an order for pick up @ 9:15 for 10:30. Got there at 10:15 and waited until 10:45 for half of the order and 11:15 for the other half. If your goal is to wait forever for overpriced average coffee and food this is the place for you.
Enjoyed my first visit ~ which wont be my last!
Pretty great for a first time visit. Quick and excellent service. Coffee was great. I always judge based on how well an Americano is done and i give this about a 7/10. The environment insure has a sweet Gothic, hipster look. They service wine, beer, ice cream, and all kinds of pastries too.
Love this place. Its very open and spaced out so it feels safe during covid. Anything from sandwiches for breakfast and lunch to great coffee wine and beer. Also... the bottomless mimosas on Sundays;) yard games, plenty of picnic tables during the warmer weather, big green space to spread out.
Coffee is outstanding, along with great service with smiles. I enjoy their steak breakfast sandwich with added bacon. Everything was made to order. This will be my new go-to spot. Wonderful laid back ambiance
Nice staff. Beer starts flowing at 7 a.m.
The owner of this business refused to give a young Black woman standing in the shop a job application, but gave the same person who called the next day with a different name and a white-sounding voice an immediate phone screener. When the womans mother wrote a review on Facebook highlighting what happened, the business owner enlisted many of her friends to write positive reviews to drown out the legitimate concern expressed in the review. When that didnt work, the owner removed the review section entirely. The owner later wrote on Facebook that she had reached out to the person to explain what happened from her perspective. Not to apologize. Nowhere in her long post did she actually say sorry. From her perspective, she did nothing wrong because she didnt look up to see that the person asking for a job application was Black. The Facebook post said the owner welcomes your suggestions, but any suggestions that were left were deleted and the person blocked.Later in the week, the owner called the womans mother. It was a heated conversation where the owner made herself the victim and denied that it was discrimination because (a) she didnt look up, (b) she has a biracial employee, and (c) shes been to Kenya. At the end of the day, this owner does not believe Black voices matter. Instead, she thinks she can drown them out by deleting comments and reviews and by having friends post positive reviews instead. I will not be back here.
Great new coffee shop and outdoor space! The staff was friendly and the seating outside is so nice. Lots of drinks to choose from as well as a nice refrigerated area for snacks and things. I tried a vegan blueberry muffin, which was delicious.
Clean, friendly, cheerful. The selections are targeted, the pricing is good, and the coffee I had was excellent.
Really like the setup of the place, and the people are very friendly and our order is always correct.
Really good food and awesome coffee
A much needed coffee shop in the area! Interior is fun and trendy and the coffee is delicious. Huge variety snacks even for dietary restrictions. I’m glad to support a new local business!
Great coffee! Nice atmosphere! Friendly staff!
This area needed a great coffee shop, and we finally got one! The interior is warm and welcoming, they have plenty of outdoor space to hang-out safely, and the staff is super friendly. My dirty chai was amazing!!! I can’t wait for the food menu to be up and running too!
Was pretty good, will be going back. I got a matcha latte, it was not as flavorful as I typically like, but still good. The hot cider was good though
Best customer service I have received in a long time. The place is beautiful with great seating indoors and outdoors and the food/drinks are amazing! Lots of dairy free options for the drinks.
Want to work here? Dont. Owner has no idea whats going on and cant be bothered to remember employees needs & feelings. Most unorganized establishment Ive ever had the displeasure of working for. Coffee quality isnt cared for. Want good coffee? Go anywhere else.
Service was good. However the beverage and food left much to be desired. Bougie experience. Far better options available at similar or lower cost around Madison.
Not sure what is up with the customer service on weekends (especially saturday late mornings/afternoon), BUT ive never delt with more snobs in my life. Please hire better ppl to run the cash register/take orders.
Great place! Good coffee! Great place to study during the week. On Saturday and Sunday the close at 2pm which kinda sucks.
I love Twisted Grounds. Great coffee and the steak breakfast sandwich I had this morning was amazing!
Way too expensive, and all of the drinks Ive had here have been really bad. I usually love iced tea, but all 3 that Ive ordered here are gross. staff is not very kind and they never seem happy to be there :( I had high hopes, but $5 teas are not the move
The store is beautiful! So much attention to detail and quality in their offerings. There is truly something for everyone
Our Team is so happy to have your partnership at Grandview! We are so excited for your journey to continue to evolve. We enjoy your team, treats, food and of course COFFEE! Congratulations and CHEERS!
The coffee is delicious and the staff is wonderful!
Awesome service, interior, patio and coffee.
PLEASE People - WAIT BEFORE STANDING IN JUDGMENT! For those of you leaving negative reviews that have NEVER set foot in this establishment, think twice before you decide to SKEWER this company on social media. Clearly this company has NO PROBLEM hiring people of color! See photos! There is obviously MORE TO THIS STORY! Madison cannot afford to lose a business in these trying times because people are JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!
Nice little addition to the east side.
Cute hip coffee shop with beer and wine and great outdoor seating. Your ice cream as well as some of your drinks are way over priced. I have never gotten such a small scoop of ice cream for $3.50. Very disappointing.
This is a great location, serving up great drinks. Large enough to social distance safely.
A little pricey, but great coffee, baked goods, and very friendly service. This neighborhood has been in desperate need of a coffee shop for years. Glad its finally got one.Try the vegan donuts (on days they have them) - As a definitely-not-vegan person I wasnt expecting much but I was blown away. All kinds of fun and tasty iced teas. Nitro cold brew on tap, and all the regular espresso drinks you would expect to find at a high end cafe. They serve JBC coffee which is fantastic.
The discrimination and silencing of black voices is unacceptable. If you were truly willing to learn and grow from this experience you would not delete every negative review. I will not be back and I will not recommend Twisted Grounds to anyone.
Products are okay, but the prices are high. I know the margins on coffee are slim, but the prices here border on outrageous.
Love this place. The tea creations are amazing, there is always something new to try, and the staff works super hard!
Great little neighborhood coffee house! Food is great, also.
Great coffee! Awesome owner and staff! Neat and cozy decor inside and a perfect patio outside!
Great blended lattes. Very friendly owner and staff. Glad to have this place in our neighborhood
Drive up ordering is dope, almond milk latte is decent, and the bagel smells amazing
I’m so glad to have this cute coffee shop in my neighborhood! 😍
Great food, great music and great coffee. And service with a smile.
Great coffee, baked goods and friendly service!
Im not a coffee shop guy, but when I have the urge, this is my go-to. Friendly, efficient, safe, fast, and locally owned.
Just what this area needed! Great drinks and bakery items, and cozy interior. Looking forward to additional menu items!
Great place for coffee! Staff is friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!!
Great spot, awesome selection of beers, wines and coffee plus snacks. Outside seating is under a shade tree. Can’t wait to go back.
Great independent coffee shop! Nice outdoor seating area, and comfortable inside room.
Love this coffee shop! Wonderful customer service and always delicious!
Best coffee shop in the area. Must go!
Twisted Grounds engages in discrimination, and there are much better places to patronize in Madison than one that disrespects people within the community. Do better, Twisted Grounds.
Friendly staff, great coffee, yummy muffins, super trendy place!
Excellent coffee drinks, cool vibe & friendly staff! Can’t wait to come back and try more off the menu!
Please come back! I miss you already
Excellent service!!! Great menu!
Cool atmosphere, great coffee and scones.
Great vibe there, and dog friendly!
Drink your coffee under one of the mightiest oaks around!
Great coffee shop!
Great coffee and snacks
Food was fantastic
