We were visiting Madison and decided to check this place out. We liked the atmosphere of the place but the cleanliness was lacking. Watched the cashier handle cash and then directly make our sandwich without gloves or any kind of sanitation. When checking us out I could see some kind of dirt or coffee grounds stuck around their nails too... I also saw them drop one of the tea bags on the floor before in the order ahead of us. Everyone was friendly but during COVID I don’t know if I feel comfortable eating here. Also Watched him throw in napkins to someone else’s order he obviously knew but not others.

This place was absolutely amazing. Cute hole in the wall place. Local neighborhood feel. Could most definitely tell the food and cafe drinks were made with love and care. A rare find, these days.

A hidden gem indeed! Patrick and all of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. As a self-proclaimed and very particular coffee drinker, I can also confirm their coffee is the best I have had in Madison.

This is a hidden gem in this city. Little coffee shop that feels like it was plucked out of a big city and sweetly tucked into a friendly neighborhood. Patrick and his staff are friendly, wholesome, and down to earth. If youre a fan of being a regular at a coffee shop where they remember you, look no further!

Cool funky vibe and great coffee. The barista recommended a turmeric latte of some sort and though I was quite hesitant I decided to try it and am super glad I did...super good. Also, the egg, tomato and pesto sandwich was super good too, the bread could have been a bit fluffier for my preference but it was still very good.

The rotating art + atmosphere + Patrick keep us coming back :)

Love this place authenticly Willy Street with a cute happy hippy vibe, genuinely good food, and friendly staff.

This little shop brings the neighborhood coffee shop ideal to life. It was originally a no-wifi shop with the intention of being a neighborhood social hub where the regulars would chat, get to know each other, etc. It does have wifi now, and they accept cards, but the original spirit remains intact. The food menu is simple and delicious, coffee drinks are dang tasty, and the company is stellar. Sit at the bar if youd like to chat with Patrick, the Brooklyn NY made owner (and artist), or the staff. Not feeling chatty? No problem! Theres never any pressure to chat.

A wonderful refuge from the heat after a couple miles walk. Shave ice and A.C. was great!

A great local spot to get a nice cup of coffee and a small breakfast. Get there early because everyone in Madison swarms in to grab a waffle.Theyre thin and crispy, just the way I like them. The owner is very personable with his customers, and he treats his staff with respect. Its nice to observe someone who cares so much about their business.

Had an enjoyable experience here. Had a delicious pastry, made fresh daily. It was flaky on the outside and warm and gooey on the inside. Absolutely perfect. Their flatwhite was pretty delicious too. My girlfriend ordered their victory soda. Their soda is homemade, I tried a bit of it and it was very good. I will definitely be back here.

Victory is a neighborhood cafe in the best sense of the word. Full of regulars, Patrick will remember your name. The coffee is good and strong. Friendly dogs and their owners stop by. Where else can you forget to pay and its no big deal as long as you make good the next time you come in.

Lovely little neighborhood coffee shop. They make the best pour-over decaf and have delicious home-made syrups for spritzers in the summer. No cellphones allowed and no wireless access means you can actually have a conversation with your neighbor.

I’ve been getting coffee every day from Patrick and James at The Victory for about a year now. It’s the perfect neighborhood cafe to chit chat with some regulars. The coffee is consistently great and the atmosphere is inviting. They now take credit cards and have free WiFi, which is a bonus. Patrick also decorated the walls with his own art, which is all beautiful and all for sale.

Victory has the best cafe atmosphere in Madison, period. A strict no phone-talking policy makes for a strong feeling of community here. The owner is a master of his profession. Also, the Anodyne coffee is great.

Friendly service, good selection of food and drink. A great place to sit and chat with a friend, or read, or work the daily crossword. Definitely has its own vibe.

Welcoming to those with little ones, but not in a way thats annoying to the child-free. Owner is friendly and has a chalkboard they can draw on. Thats what makes this place a standout. Very few cafes are actually welcoming to everyone.

Left before ordering so i cant give it 1 star- they have like 5 menus total, all of them covered in coffee stain, no tables for more than 2, and running out of waffles at 11 am? With 10 things on the menu youd think they could keep track of waffles.

The owner loves his job when it is not very busy. The experience is great when it is not very busy. If it looks crowded, go somewhere else. Otherwise, enjoy this neighbourhood treat for brunch!

Stopped in for some shaved ice, which was delicious, but also ran into one of the friendliest people we have ever met. Perhaps the owner?? Def. A must. Cant wait to try the coffee next time.

Everything Ive bought here has been excellent, and every item sold seems to have been thoughtfully selected by the owner. Its not common to see such painstaking care put into ingredients, atmosphere and service. There is a lot of love here, this place rules.

Best vanilla lattes Ive had on the east side. I find when I get them other places theyre either too hot or it taste too much like vanilla or not enough expresso. But here they are perfect everytime pat does them.

What a lovely place and a wonderful team they have here. Its a small cafe, but very cosy with that Madison feel I love. The two people who were there were wonderful- I didnt know it was cash or check only and the person who took my order offered to hold the balance for me until I came back later; very generous! Fortunately, theres an ATM at Stalzys just access the street, so I nipped over there for some cash. When I came back, the other person asked if something was wrong, very willing to fix a mistake that hadnt occurred. All in all, a great experience and I will definitely be back soon!

Strange place. Signage indicated that i should not use my cell phone. When i asked about the seasonal salad posted on the menu, a man at the counter (owner? chef?) began rambling on about how he had not yet created one and that i had reminded him to get started on it right away. Seems like the strange brainchild of an aged counterculture enthusiast. Not very welcoming or approachable. I left without ordering.
