This is a fantastic place to visit. Not only great choices of books and neat gifts to purchase but they have a great little cafe attached to it. The food is delicious, the staff in the cafe and in the Bookshop are absolutely lovely people. They are so helpful and pleasant. Have been going there for the last several years on my trip up to Madison. A welcome change from the hubbub of New York City. You will enjoy every minute being in this bookstore and Cafe.

Good food & fast service. Staff is very friendly. Only issue is the menu has to be a bit more clear on pricing with certain items.

Nice relaxing vibe. Great drinks and the grilled cheeses are delicious. Has a little outdoor seating area where puppies are allowed.

Needed a place to grab a quick bite. This hit the spot! Pleasant staff, quick service, delicious sandwich that was just the right size. Oogled the cup cakes. Will save those for next time.

RJ Cafe & Bristo, a cozy bisto located in a fabulous bookstore. You can find a good book and a great meal. We had curried chicken salad with mango sauce and apples. On our way back we had a margarita flat and chicken and onion flat.

RJ Julia is a wonderful book store with an amazing selection and great childrens section but the cafe is just OK. Good soups but food is so so. Service can be slow and space is small. The do have some good desserts (cupcakes) and its a cozy place to get a cup of coffee, coco, or tea.

Had a lovely salad with curry chicken. It was a beautiful weekend day so we sat outside. The servers were a bit in the weeds. Nice selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. The cupcake frosting got a hard pass from my daughter, but otherwise all was good.

In the area and saw they were pet friendly, which was so convenient since I had my dog. Sat on the quaint, shaded back patio, enjoyed a salad, ginger peach iced tea and was brought a bowl of water for my dog.

Delicious sandwiches. I had the curry chicken. My husband had tomato veggie soup. He said it was very hearty and nice and hot. I had an amazing cupcake. Rosemary with a Chardonnay frosting. AMAZING

Lobster grilled cheese was amazing. It was a special though. The coffee was good and the servers were extra nice. Outdoor seating was a big plus. Definitely coming back.

This little cafe is quite a surprise. A little jewel hidden amid wonderful tomes, it has far more to offer than most would imagine. A wonderful variety of iced teas wash a palate satiated with scrumptious foods only to be followed by an array of some of the best recent literature.

This place is a hidden gem located in a small, local bookstore that is already a hidden gem in Madison. The staff are very friendly and hard-working. The meals and the coffee are great. My wife and I have stopped here for food several times, and Ive tried several different things. Their salads are fresh and delicious, and my personal favorite item was their chipotle chicken flat. A few weeks ago, my wife and I also got delicious, holiday themed lattes.I highly recommend this place, whether for a quick drink and muffin, or for a lunch.

Cafe in the back of a popular bookstore. Both come across a bit too full of themselves, perhaps reflecting the true nature of Madison beyond the Miller house. But the coffee is good, even though it only comes in one size.

Last spring, my daughter and I took a trip to Hamden to look at colleges and on the way back, we stopped at this bookstore and had a bite to eat in the café. The store is very quaint and homey, the staff very helpful and friendly, the café is also staffed with friendly people and the food is great. Every time I pick her up at school to bring her home, we try to stop in for a bite to eat. It has become a favorite place for both of us. I highly recommend it.
