Bought some men’s North Face Back to Berkeley Mid WP boots from them and love them!! I reached out to the company to make sure I ordered the right boot and to make sure they would make it to me before my trip to Tennessee and they were great from the start! Quickly and nicely verified the boot with me then proceeded to have even better costumer service but making sure it got sent out ASAP so they could guarantee I received them for my trip! Great company and will definitely go to them for any future needs!👍🏼 Recommend highly!

As a neighborhood store we try to give them business every time we need something. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable and today was no exception. As soon as we entered we were greeted by both staff members and one asked if we were looking for something in particular. He (Brandon) showed me four brands of backpacks and explained pros and cons of all and recommended which one he liked for our purpose. The great customer service we receive at Fontana is why we will continue to buy all our sports and outdoor needs there.

Stumbled on this store over the past weekend while visiting Madison. I was looking to find some new walking shorts for the summer and a pair of birkenstocks. Well mustve been my lucky day, but end up leaving with two pairs of summer shorts and some Arizona birkenstocks. Staff is pretty great from walking in as we were greeted right away and was able to get directed to their mens section and some clearance racks. Decent stock of latest Patagonia apparel and ended up trying just about everything they had in stock for fit. Colombia seemed to be their clearance brand when I had visited and was able to pick up a pair of nice shorts for almost 50% off. Colorways for shoes are limited, but didnt shy me away picking up a pair of birks.Anyways, if youre looking for outdoors sports store carrying everything from apparel to footwear, camping gear, and climbing gear. Fontana is the store for you. Service and staff were great, will definitely be back next time in Madison.Til next time, cheers!

I love this store. Mostly, Im limited to gloves, boots, sandals, camping, and skiing gear.If I ever lose enough weight to be able to wear XL or they find space to stock 2XL clothes this will be a 5 star review.

I hadnt been in this store in a long time but went in to check it out while I was visiting Madison the other day. They have a great mix of product and a cool vibe. I felt the need to write a review because their customer service was excellent. The three staff members each made verbal contact with me by either asking if I needed help, saying hello, or giving my dog a treat and making small talk. I work in the retail industry, and I was impressed, so I just wanted to give props to this store and the crew that was on duty Sunday 12/10.

Staff was super helpful in helping me find what I wanted and the workout shirts I found were on sale, so everything is great!

I love a locally owned store and Fontana Sports is that plus great staff, fun events and wonderful quality items. Definitely coming back for future sporting needs!

Staff was more than excellent! Store has a surprisingly​ great selection for the size. I went in to get a new backpack and they had plenty of options and the staff was super knowledgeable. Fair prices and they offer rope cutting, and shoe repair. I love the downtown location and recommend going to this over the Towne Mall location, even with the small size.

Very good place for your essentials. Might be a bit high end but if you keep looking out, you can get some great deals. The quality of their material is extraordinary

Went in to Fontana today to get some advice on hiking backpacks. The young, female employee who helped me out was extremely helpful and patient. She loaded up a few backpacks with weights to give me an idea of how each one would feel. We discussed brands, sizes, and uses. Ill definitely be returning to purchase my backpack there.

These guys are awesome! My dog Moose and I come in all the time just to say hi, and the staff is amazing with him :) Theyve got some awesome products too - our most common purchase is a plush toy for Moose to tear up when we get home. Love this store :)

Outstanding selection and customer service

I love these guys! They are always so helpful and they have lovely things so I often shop for my kids and grandkids here. My only complaint is that there is limited parking, so several times I just drove on instead of stopping and shopping. But, I may have to walk there today as snow is falling and falling!

They spent time going over different options and let me try on as many Chacos as I wanted to feel confident before buying. Great time.

Great selection, very well stocked for how small of a store it is, and very friendly staff. Came in to buy some gloves and the staff offered to open the packaging so that I could wear them immediately. Prices are about what youd expect for a store like this, similar to REI.

I love going through small multisport spring goods stores, and thats exactly what this is. I didnt have a sudden kayaking emergency while I was in Madison, but if I did, this is where Id go.

We bought our son a Kuhl jacket and the zipper malfunctioned 3 weeks after purchase. My son was told by Fontana management that he would have to contact Kuhl himself and request a warranty repair, and said he couldn’t help. The Kuhl website, in fact, says that defective products can be returned to the retailer. Very disappointing and I will not purchase anything from them again. I try to support small local retailers but when you get this type of service, you realize that you’re taking a risk in doing so.
