I took one of my kitchen cabinets out that were recently purchased from Marling so I could put a dishwasher in next to my sink. I am planning on putting the base cabinet I pulled out on the other side of the kitchen in an empty spot however I need a another of the same base cabinet.On my first trip to the store I was directed from the man talking at the desk on the telephone to work with the sales girl. I gave her the sticker which apparently did not give her any helpful information on determining what cabinet model this was and what I should order. She recommended I come back with a door from the cabinet.A few weeks later I returned with the door and was again directed to a different sales girl who then wanted to try and color match the door to various samples in the store? I purchased my home in March and the cabinets were installed by a contractor around October of 2020. I cannot understand how we are not able to find the cabinet in the computer or something with all the info I have provided!

We called and spoke with a Jim Teela about a dry issue with our windows we were having. Marlin was recommended by a contractor as they are an Anderson window dealer. My wife was told to send an email with photos and they would get back with us. A week has gone by, we have contacted them a few times and still nothing back, even just saying we are looking at it, just busy. Nothing. I am in the military and leaving for a while and wanted to get something going so my wife has less to worry about. The time line was expressed to them, along with circumstances. If they didn’t want the job just put that across.

Really unhelpful. Didn’t seem interested in trying discuss project needs at all or sell us anything.In rereading my original review, I feel like I needed to add more context. We had been emailing a sales rep about a product that they supposedly carried. The conversation had stopped with the sales person telling us we should come and look at a sample and one would be there shortly. After weeks of waiting we stopped in. Mentioned what we were looking for and were pointed to a wall of samples. someone came to talk with us and said they dont carry anything like what we wanted and when we mentioned who we had been working with he didnt do anything to connect us with that person. just said, this is what we have. This resulted in us just going to mccormick lumber. once we described what we were looking for, we got everything priced out and ordered that visit. What had taken months with marling took 30 minutes with someone else.

Kayla from the Madison store was excellent to work with on our our kitchen and bathrooms. She had great attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble she even helped me out while on her vacation. She listened to what we wanted and made our vision come to life. One of the many things I love about the kitchen was she made a place to put food and water bowls for our 2 cats. Kayla also took the time to come back to see how everything turned out and is currently helping me with organising my kitchen cabinets and drawers.

Excellent customer service and down to earth friendly employees, I had a pocket door come off the tracks and also unrepairable and they helped me pick out an exact matching door and also put me in touch with a contractor they use to install it. He did a great job and wouldn’t even know it was replaced.

My son broke part of a custom cabinet door. I called Marling and they were able to get the door fixed for me and it looks as good as new. Tracy was very helpful and kept me informed on all of my options and on the repair progress. The cost was reasonable and the job was completed in a timely fashion. I would definitely use Marlings services again.

Everyone I have come in contact with at Marling lumber from sales to shipping to delivery has been top notch. Price was in line with other stores, help from people who know the products they sell out shines any big box store. They got your back if you need help.

I remodeled my kitchen and am very happy with the results. They had the same cabinets I already had and so was able to add new ones of the same type. They had the features I wanted and the quality and timing was good. I’m very happy with the High Max countertop and sink. One of the ccabinets I saw and ordered at their store turned out not to be what arrived, but I understood why it was a different shape after calling my designer.

As a small business owner a reliable lumberyard salesman is VERY important. Ive worked with every supplier in the Madison area and I regret not going to Marling sooner. We started working with Mark this year and the service has been outstanding to say the least. Everything has been on point and on time. He continues to show us new products that we might like. If he doesnt know a answer about a product he gets me in touch with the reps. Also is working on special requests on products to stock.Thank you!

A real working mans and womans lumber yard. High quality, fair priced, helpful staff and great selection. Because of the outdoor open format its a great place to take the kids to help too.

Chris did a great job listening to what we cared about to design a plan that fit our existing home. I would highly recommend him for nay home remodel project.

First talked to Tom Marling about lumber. Responsive, information, and great to deal with. Then my wife started talking to Jim about a new front door. Took weeks to reply and eventually just stopped replying. We didnt get very far with him until we were ignored. I would recommend Tom to anyone, but had a very different experience with the doors.

This store has been around for ever. They really know there business. They will take good care of your needs.

Salesperson knew nothing about the product they sell. There were no samples of color choices available and when I asked for pricing I was given prices for a different product line and told theyre basically the same!

Quality lumber quoted quickly and delivered cheaply. Staff is helpful and usually knowledgeable.

Been here a handful of times for various woodworking projects. Staff always knew what I was trying to do and got me right where I needed to go.

I went to the Marling location on Stoughton road to order some kitchen parts for my small renovation project. I came prepared, bringing an extra cabinet door I had lying around as well as several photos of the crown molding to aid in identification of model numbers. Julie was the consultant who helped me. We examined the pictures and cabinet door at length, cross-referencing them against the Merillat parts catalog, until we both agreed that we had a positive match. I should mention that Julie took notes furiously throughout the process, carefully noting the product number for each item (or so I thought). Since a phone call to Merillat HQ was required to price out the order and the dont do business on weekends, she promised a follow-up call on Monday with final price information.I got said call on Monday with final pricing. All that was left was for me to sign a contract (Julies language, not mine) and put 50% down. I looked over the contract and verified that it contained line items for crown molding, a tall kitchen cabinet, and a spare cabinet door. I then signed and returned with a 50% down payment.Two weeks later, as promised, I got a call that my order was ready for pickup. Upon unboxing the crown molding, I was shocked to see something that looked nothing like the molding Julie and I identified together. I immediately called Marling. Julie was apologetic but quite firm in that Marling doesnt take responsibility for ordering errors, no matter who makes them. After all, she said matter of factly, I did sign the contract. Legally speaking, shes right of course.Ethically speaking, her logic is ridiculous. Im now stuck with $150 worth of crown molding I cant use because Marling screwed up the order. What a customer service disaster. Will not use again and suggest others do the same
