Absolutely fabulous bookshop hidden away off of a frontage road next to a pawn shop. Books are very reasonably priced, with almost all under $4.Good science fiction and mystery sections (for HC and trade PB)Well worth a trip!

This is a slightly hidden gem right off the Beltline and next to a pawn shop! Very pleasant book browsing experience, with convenient chairs and a nice accessible bathroom. I just wish they stocked more essay collections.

Expanded and fabulous! More rooms for more genres. They aggregate the estate sale collections, and sort it out so you can find your yard sale gems! Good prices, good rewards program, great staff.( Yes, it really is in that building with the pawn shop and Pitchers Pub. Its not a trap!!! )

Book addicts suffer from many of the trials that drug addicts do. They have to deal with unpleasant people to get what they want. That isnt the case at The Book Deal. These guys actually want you to come to their store and buy stuff. Theres even coffee and chocolate to prove it. Its a bit of a maze to find once you are in the building. Shades of the Overlook Hotel, but there are signs and readers can, well, read.

You are sure to find a book you like based on the wide variety of books The Book Deal has. They are also expanding, so will have even more variety. They are super friendly and helpful! Their books are in great condition and at a great price. I love their literacy campaign in Madison of giving one book for every book bought.

This place is pretty hard to find. If you know to look for black sign with white lettered 319, youll find it, then find the miniscule yellow arrow sign that says BOOK SALE, and the door that leads to a long, but well signed, hallway to the book store.But once you get there youll be so pleased! Lots of selections and great prices!

Great variety, great prices.

This place is completely unassuming from the outside; you could easily drive by and have no idea it is there. That said, once youre inside, it is a pretty awesome, quaint bookstore. There are several different room, each with their own themes. Everything is really well organized and clean. The employee was really helpful and when they noticed I was looking at a specific genre, he offered to bring more out from the back. All in all, I will totally go back.

Tucked away in a nondescript office building, The Book Deal is a gem. With a simple pricing model and well organized shelves, it’s a breeze to navigate. The most expensive item (rare first editions and signed copies) top out at $9.99, so you’re bound to get a bargain. The desk was staffed by a pair of gentlemen who obviously love books. It was a fun stop, one that we will definitely make again.

Without a doubt, the best place to go shopping for the classics of literature in Madison. Further, the amazing staff here is on a mission to foster community literacy, giving at least a book away for free for every book sold.Plus the prices here are unbeatable. I love shopping at The Book Deal!

Amazing, I bought some broken consoles from here and they were super cool about it and the price was really good. I 100% will tell others about this place and come back in the future.

Great place for cheap books. Friendly helpful staff. I like that they have the books organized by topic. However, theyre not organized within each topic, so plan to spend time looking through every book. Not a great place to shop if youre looking for a very specific book or topic, but its a great place for finding random treasures.

Nice neighborhood used bookstore that relies on donations for inventory. Space is well utilized to categorize the books. They have the very important book lover program, which is an excellent name.

This store is a gem for book lovers! We were a little uncertain when we pulled up but entered the building and followed the very long winding hallway (dont worry...its not a trap lol) to a very clean, well organized store. Customer service was great! We left with 14 ish books for a very low price. We will definitely shop there again!

Cozy little store with a library feel. The number of books and the low prices are both just unbelievable! I got an excellent-condition hardcover copy of Stephen Kings Misery for 3 bucks!

If there is a better book sale store, than The Book Deal, in and around the Madison area, I have yet to find it. If you havent shopped at and talked to the friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff there, youre really missing something...

The Book Deal is the Real Deal. Wide selection, budget-friendly pricing, excellent customer service and innovative promotions. Always worth a visit.

They post new arrivals on their Facebook page and you can call dibs. Theyre only open four days a week, but they have the best prices of any used book store in Madison. Theyre new and still growing, but Im hooked!

Its a great used book store hidden in the back of the building. There are lots of old books of many genres. Its a great place to find random books. Most books and CDs are $2.

Classics and newish titles in all genres, kid “gems” that are hard to find, can’t beat the prices - buying used is cheaper and more responsible when products are as functional as new items. Hallway to the actual store is through an office-like building - follow the signs, it’s worth checking out!
