Delightful coffee experience today. Server was very knowledgeable, Sharing details about Viennese coffee. Very indulgent, terrific coffee and pastry. Felt like we were in a European coffee house again. Cant wait to return. Tucked away at the end of a strip mall. We discovered this hidden gem on Yelp. Yummy pastries.
Despite the rather unconventionally strict ordering process, everything they serve is of unmatched quality. It is worth the effort.
Loved visiting this coffee shop to get my first of hopefully many more coffees. I got the Salon Einspanner drink with mocha/dark chocolate and some whip cream. The baristas were friendly and served the cup of coffee with good presentation. I would definitely recommend visiting this place if you have a few minutes to be able to dine in vs getting togo coffee.i would recommend getting the Mozart Kaffee or the Salon Einspanner when you visit. The Mozart Kaffee had some alcohol and dark chocolate.
Just off busy I-5 freeway north of Seattle, we popped off for refreshments. Seeing a Wal*Mart to the right, we went left.....and we were transported to the historic district of Vienna a.k.a. Kaffeehaus de Chatillon! This sweet kaffeehaus has all the trappings of a proper Viennese establishment. The coffee is a lighter roast, classic to Vienna, yet satisfying to this Starbucks fan. Then there is the pastry case! Heavenly sweet treats with a grand variety to please all. The staff is kind with first timers explaining the products, offerings and process AND they serve you at your table after ordering at the counter. Definately a spot to go to when you need a respite.
Would that I could give 6 or seven stars. Where to start? From the warm greeting and open armed welcome on a weekday afternoon to the perfect Viennese ambiance, this place is as authentic as it gets. We were promptly cared for and continually pampered from the first steps in. The coffee was exquisite and the presentation even more so with a flourish of whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg. Thank you guys and if we ever return, you shall certainly have us again.
Every foodies dream! Traditional, delicious and wonderful people. They share the history make an ordinary person feel like royalty! Amazing pastries and coffee! So happy I stumbled upon this place I will definitely be a regular!
Served with a smile, contains a smile and gives many❣️❣️❣️original photo btw!Delightfully friendly service of authentically prepared, luscious coffee in a charming ambience that convinces you ARE in the heart of Vienna.Questions about anything related to coffee will be answered thoroughly and with passion.
Great coffee, food and atmosphere! This isnt Starbucks so dont expect it to be one. Adds to the charm and authenticity though. I felt bad mispronouncing the names of items 😅
Truly love coming to this place. They have the best experience, coffee, tea and treats!
The experience is everything. Great presentation everytime you come to have an excellent Austrian kaffee! Sit on the leather couch and enjoy!
Had a great experience today. The owners are so sweet and go out of their way to satisfy their customers. Their coffee is 100 times better than Starbucks and bakery is delicious. Gotta support small businesses.
Wonderful service and incredible atmosphere. Been coming here for years. It’s a perfect spot tucked off the highway with plenty of parking and even a drive through for those on the go. If you can- actually come in and sit, it’s worth it.
I ordered their Chi and it was the best iv ever had. Unassuming from the outside but a great shapshot of a different time on the inside! Will definitely be back!
We happened upon this spot because we were in Lynwood and wanted coffee. Wow! What a gem. The woman at the counter explained to us that this was one of only 2 authentic Viennese coffee shops in the USA! The drink menu is completely different from the Italian espresso ones that were used to, so we had to read it. I got the Milchkaffee which is Viennese coffee with frothed milk and I was delightfully surprised by the richness of flavor it had. It had notes of chocolate and spice and tasted delicious. The pastry was very nice and getting to eat outdoors on the small patio made everything feel more European. Even though its a bit of a drive for us, Im sure well be back.
Okay, of all the coffee shops Ive gone to across this country this so far is my absolute favorite. Across the board from the ambiance to the liquor in some of the drinks to great pastries to wonderful french movies and a fireplace with comfortable leather couches and the classical music that calms the soul as you sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery. i love it. The owner also works as the Barista pretty much all the time Great guy (Eric). A must-stop, it does get busy on weekends so prepare for that there may not be seats however during the week you can usually find a seat so come early.
Authentic Kaffee and very delicious bakery items!
We set on a quest to try something completely new, and we met our goal. The coffee beverages were decadent. Dont be afraid to ask questions about the menu. All of ours were answered and we were extremely happy with our drinks. The croissants were puffy clouds of flakiness that filled our tummies. Thank you for the exquisite atmosphere and great service!
One of the best coffee’s I have ever had . The Personal touch and details Michaela and Eric put in is beyond words. Thanks again. Will be definitely coming back.
This place is a nice change of pace for your normal coffee shop. Definitely worth a try! They have a drive through, indoor cafe, and outdoor patio. Unfortunately, We went during a time when they have their outdoor seating closed up.
I stopped by here with friends when visiting from out of town. So cute and elegant. Not much seating inside but we got lucky with a table and they are pretty good at moving people around to help new guests have a seat (ex. moving a single person sitting at a 4 table with a finished coffee at a single couch). You can’t order like a typical latte or espresso it has to be something off the menu so I would definitely just speak to the barista of what you like and they can help you as the menu isn’t very clear (not fully in English).I honestly don’t even remember the name of the drink I ordered but it came with a little refresher that has some soda, and lavender to drink after your coffee. So so good I would 100% come back and recommend this to a latte lover.
Not bad, not great, but service is spectacular
Was gonna stop in because there was nothing else around on our route. BEWARE PEOPLE WITH MILK ALLERGIES!!!!! They DO NOT substitute ANYTHING and they say it all over the menu. So we left because we couldnt read the menu which is not in English and they wont sub. any milk.
What a great find! This unique coffee house has it all. The atmosphere reminds me of a coffee house I visited in Innsbruck Austria. The coffee did not disappoint, it was amazing and took me right back to Innsbruck 😊 Thank you Erich fir the great experience.
Amazing coffee. Wonderful service. Very clean. Well worth the drive from camano island.
Very cozy cafe, which sells delicious coffee and delicious desserts. The staff is friendly and professional. I recommend.
I felt like I was in 1890 Austria for a second. Then I looked outside. Loved the atmosphere and service, we were treated like royals. We served with class.
One of my favorite places to grab a unique coffee (they are not your typical American coffee drinks and are indeed inspired by those made in Vienna) and meet with a friend or read a book. The space is fairly small (but you can usually get a seat), the tables are always clean, and the atmosphere is nice (and a little on the formal side). I dont recommend this place as somewhere for a student to hunker down with their textbooks splayed out for hours on end - this is really not the vibe the coffee house encourages. At first the drinks may strike you as a little on the pricey side, but they are worth it!
One of the best cup coffee I’ve ever had. I definitely will return. I wish they were open earlier like SB then I’d make it my permanent place to go before school.
This little coffee shop is like a piece of Vienna in gloomy Lynnwood. The interior feels like you stepped into an historic European building, the coffee itself is wonderful (especially the dessert coffees) and they always offer fresh pastries like croissants. Each cup of coffee is beautifully presented with a small glass of water (still or sparkling depending on which coffee you ordered) and the staff are always so kind in explaining the different coffee options to those who are unaccustomed to this intangible cultural heritage.
Great coffee and great experience, ordered multiple different types of espresso and brewed coffee drinks and all were great!
Highly recommend it!!! Perfect combination between staff and coffee ☕ 👌
Wonderful experience, delicious coffee drink
Because Starbucks closes early today (5/29), so that I have to find another spot to finish my homework. I feel lucky to find this precious gem. Everything is unexceptionally good, even the music. However, Im a big fan of dark-roast, bitter and plank coffee, so I will just be back here only when Starbucks closes again 😂. However, I do recommend this spot for you guys.
Nice flavoured coffee.
Visited with a friend recently, if you love coffee this is a must. Good quality coffee with a classy ambience, not a lot of space but sit down is the way to truly enjoy the experience.
Great place! Amazing coffee.♥️
A great Kaffeehaus with even better service. Ashlyn has served us well over the years. The menu is different than your regular coffee stop so be prepared to learn some new, dare I say...refined vocabulary.
One of the best coffee shops in town. the personnel is super nice and meets all the government requirements for covid 19 i felt safe and very comfortable not to wear a mask while I was enjoying my cup of coffee
Good coffee, presentation was great and atmosphere was unique
Completely obsessed with this lovely place. They craft their drinks with care and expertise - consistently excellent! Would give 10 stars if I could 😍Staff:Theyre always incredibly courteous, helpful, and hospitable! Every single time. I appreciate the setup and atmosphere that theyve created.Decor & Ambience:Everything is extremely cozy and its generally a quieter place. This is the perfect place for reading or doing work. I really appreciate the presentation of everything they serve as well... details matter and they understand that.Coffee & Pastries:They serve a variety of premium Viennese coffees, including my favorite: The Einspänner! I generally enjoy cappuccinos. However, this is smoother, warmer, and richer drink - gives me a more complete feeling that cappuccinos dont give me. I also tried their almond croissant, made with almond paste. Its served warm and just melts in your mouth.
What a wonderful experience! Excellent coffee at prices much more affordable than the average starbucks. Great seating choices in tables, on armchairs by the fire, or outside when the weather is better. They get busy fast and yet they flawlessly handle their population with great service and atmosphere. Definitely with come again for an all around romantic and family friendly beverage and snack day. Some downsides is that they can get too crowded or they do not always have different options for gluten, dairy, or other food alternatives. So be mindful about checking out the menu first. Parking is a little rough too, but its next to the park and ride which helps.
What a jewel this place is! In no way is this your normal, run-of-the mill coffee shop...it is a small slice of Vienna in (of all places) suburban Lynnwood. The proprietor, Gaston, is a charmingly cantankerous character whose goal is to uphold the Viennese tradition of serving luxurious, even decadent, coffee creations. Here you will find the famous Einspanner, Kaiser Melange, Ubersturtzter Neumann... Dont know what these are? Forget your usual bland corporate coffee drink offering, break out of the box, and live sumptuously! Come and give a real artist the opportunity to re-boot your taste buds with something thats got over 300 years of tradition behind it. But beware, no gross perversions or fatuous alterations allowed! The recipe is the recipe, honed and perfected through the ages. And where else are you going to go, to find a coffeehouse with lovingly framed portraits of Emperor Franz Josef I and Empress Elizabeth of Austria, not to mention Margaret Thatcher? Little notes in the Basque language taped to the wall? The Sissi trilogy playing on the HDTV screen? A proprietor with deep knowledge of and enthusiasm for Napoleonic times? The answer is nowhere else in the world...The Kaffeehaus de Chatillon is located just off the I-5, Exit 183 (164th St SW). Its extremely convenient. The best way to visit is this: just get on the I-5, drive several hours till you are feeling rather parched and peckish, and then pull in to the Kaffeehaus de Chatillon. There, and only there, will your mostly-dead body be given new life again. I guarantee it.Just get there early, before my wife gobbles up all the pastries.
Great service!
Great coffee spot, different than the rest. Take a few minutes and try something new, friendly and very informative as well
Amazing atmosphere, great staff, and amazing kaffe. This is my regular go to kaffe each morning, aswell as an establishment i can come for a relaxing elegant experiance.
Fantastic.
In response to Mathew Collette:This establishment is socially distancing their tables and employees are wearing masks. That gal couldve had a medical condition you are personally not aware of. Everyone has a legal right not to wear a face mask. Under the ADA and HIPPA law nobody is legally allowed to inquire about medical conditions and no one is required to enclose any further details about it. Also, if you plan on keeping masks on for longer periods of time its actually a more dangerous health risk because now we will be breathing our own carbon dioxide. She did not violate any government orders for putting on a mask immediately. Youve contacted snohomish county health district to tell them you dont have a brain? Or was it life.
Lovely coffee house. Plenty of room to work or meet friends and socially distance from other patrons.
I meet friends here twice a week. This is a CIVILIZED coffee shop. Even when full to capacity you can carry on an inside-voice conversation. Outstanding pastries and cakes, unlike anything youll find at your standard coffee spot. And the staff here are great people.
A little different experience than your average coffee shop, but when it comes down to the coffee, its good, really good. They help you understand what youre reading and ordering and it is beautifully served. Ive thoroughly enjoyed every visit Ive had here.
Lovely and elegant experiance, fantastic atmosphere, delicious kaffe, and a polite staff. Will be back. Thank you.
Loved this place. I will go back. Coffee was wonderful. Service was great. Clean beautiful place. Wear your mask and while ur sitting drinking ur coffee/tea take ur mask off & enjoy urself.Great place. Go
Their drinks may be difficult to pronounce but definitely very easy to partake. This Austrian-inspired coffee shop is a hidden gem in Lynnwood area. Would have not found this place if not for google maps. Their decor includes Victorian-era styles and their TV plays a classic Royal movie.
Im all for bringing back the idea of good service and acting decently toward one another, but this place has taken it way too far. I would love to love this place for the atmosphere and the music, but I cannot. There is nothing wrong with espresso or a good latte or cappuccino. Apparently, anything that Starbucks (or any other coffee shop) serves is American and that means it is low class and not worthy. Their website is elitist and insulting. I do not need a sign to tell me how to behave politely. I wont be returning because of the attitude. It would have helped if the coffee was good. The Viennese can keep their weak coffee that must be gussied up with whipped cream and chocolate to make it appealing.
Great new coffee experience. Beautiful shop, Fantastic new coffee flavor and nice folks.
Great services, friendly& delicious coffee
A surprisingly excellent and unique coffee experience. These people care about Viennese coffee tradition, and you can tell. While you cant special order your favorite modern beverage, there looks to be more than enough options on the menu to satisfy anyone that truly loves coffee. I cant pronounce or spell the name of the beverage I ordered, but it was absolutely delicious. Reminded me of visiting a fancy English tea house, but with coffee - and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Would recommend and will return when I am in the area. Order in-house and sit a while, if you can.
Fantastic staff, lovely coffee, table service on a silver platter!A different experience compared with most quick service (get in get out) coffee places. A lovely respite from the crazy I-5 traffic!
I love this place. Ive been thinking about going for quite a long time and finally made it. The coffee is delicious and well-presented. Your order is brought to you in real cups, with each one appropriate to the drink that you ordered. All is served on a little silver tray with a side of soda water that matches up well with the drink that you ordered. A pleasant place to read or just
Very elegant and not expensive. Coffee and pastry was delicious. The service was outstanding; everyone is so nice.
The Vienna Coffee Company shows how it should be done: welcoming ambiance (with a roaring fireplace!), great staff (they really serve, not just bring items to your table), and of course yummy coffees.Emphasis on the plural of coffees. We have visited many times now and are nowhere near exhausting the selections of coffee drinks. And all crafted with an Old World flair. I feel like I am sitting in a cafe in Austria. Viennese-style pastries are available as well.Visit Vienna Coffee Company — you’ll be glad you did!
This was a really cool coffee house. If we would have had more time it would have been great to sit down. And enjoy the delicious coffees and desserts but we had to get it to go.
The coffee was excellent. The pretentious vibe and snooty attitude I got from both the signage and the woman behind the counter was not. The menu is all in German with no English translations. I neither speak nor read German and I did not appreciate. I can get great coffee anywhere and I will not be coming back.
The ambiance is quite nice. Coffee is quality and well made. Service should reflect such a fine establishment and does so without fail. I would go back without reservation of any kind. Thank you.
Cant give this place enough stars. Its an Austrian coffee house, not an Italian one, so ask the barista for help getting your order perfect. They are super friendly and helpful - the coffee and pastries are amazing - and everything is served with such respect for the customer. I would be a regular here if I lived nearby.
This place offers good coffee, an elegant presentation, and pristine surroundings all complemented by a great visual and audible atmosphere. This place offers a solid 4-star experience. Could be 5 stars sans the verbal hand slaps and pretentious vibe from the behind-the-counter ‘aficionados.’ If you care about the 5th star, which I fully understand that you may not, perhaps lead with warmth instead of your go-to chilly first impression.
This place is amazing! We were a little skeptical because their website is kind of pretentious looking, but its super chill, this was the best coffee Ive ever had and for the same price as Starbucks.Note that they dont make substitutions. This is Viennese coffee and not your average mocha, latte, etc.
Loved the coffee, all drinks are traditional with unchanged recipes. Nothing like a Starbucks, and that is exactly what I like! The drive through is probably really convenient, but sitting with your drink inside in the warm and relaxed atmosphere is the best experience. My fiance and I went for the first time and we cant wait to keep going over and over again. It is our new favorite place for coffee!
Seriously tasty coffee and baked goods. I imagine stepping into a Viennese coffee house, like those movie scenes about to pop off into an action sequence. More seating would be nice since you would want to take some time, sit and really enjoy the coffee. I like how you get exactly whats on the menu, no deviations! Half the menu comes with flavored sparkling water, interesting with the coffee.
This is by far my favorite coffee! Its so smooth, without being sour or bitter. The person who owns it is there almost everyday making the coffee himself. He is so friendly and is a perfectionist when he makes the drinks! Tried it over a year ago and have been completely hooked ever since!! Oh and their pastries are to die for!
Fantastic every time. The service is always top notch and the coffee is perfect. The whole place is clean, cozy and comfortable. We make a point of stopping here every time we are in town.
Its surprising that a place this amazing is embedded in a strip. To say this gentleman knows his craft is an understatement. Hes a master of the cup and provides a take on coffee that is satisfyingly familiar, yet inviting to things not often experienced in the industry. Its worth stopping by, and bonus points if you can pronounce the menu items on the first try!
Definitely the most pretentious coffee shop Ive ever been to. Their website is unintentionally hilarious. However, I actually see that as part of the appeal. And the coffee is actually great (and unique). I highly recommend visiting or going here on a date.
I absolutely love this place. Really great atmosphere. Very elegant, relaxing and sophisticated. The people that work there are very courteous, kind and the customer service is amazing. The drinks are very unique and delicious. Definitely a place I would recommend people to visit.
A great spot to slow down and enjoy your time. The specialty drinks arent modifiable but the standard allow for alternative milks etc. The staff operate with more decorum than youd normally expect in a coffee shop which is where some might feel its snooty but for me, its refreshing.
A surprise of class and culture in the burbs! Authentic style Austrian coffee drinks. The waitress helped us pick out items on the menu which was helpful. Coffees are served with water. Pastries were very good. The decor is a little less Austrian, being in a strip mall type building, but still comfy enough.
Best coffee, tea, baked goods, and service I have ever had at a coffee place! And the ambiance has a classy feel, but is also warm and inviting. I frequent Vienna Coffee as often as I can. They are simply the best coffee shop that l have found in Washington. Highly recommended!
Their drinks are truly delightful; I just wish I had more time I could’ve spent there. Nice atmosphere and probably fairly convenient for anyone using the park & ride. The only thing that would make it even better in my mind is if it were in a more scenic location.
This little place is amazing! Ive come here for years and will continue to come as long as they exist. I love the speciality drinks, their dedication to the craft of each drink and the atmosphere is perfect. I come here to write, to draw, to visit with friends, and to step out of the over commercial, stale, boring coffeehouses that infest this area.
