As a musician I would call this a Secret Shop. When you go in here please be patient and respectful because if you are the owner will open his world up to you and change the way you look at music shopping. Its not Guitar Center and thank god. This place has unique guitars and usually something youve never seen before. The owner is Greek to the bone and knows his music theory because all western theory comes from ancient Greek society. If you make nice, talk shop, and have a genuine interest in the timeless avenues of music then this place will provide you with a memory that will require you to check back in. I go here 4-8 times a year and each time see something unique. Its not inviting to newbies because the signs would have you believe you cant play but thats just to deter disrespectful musicians. If you have 5 minutes to browse then youll be disappointed, but if you have 30 minutes to meet a knowledgeable person with a lifetime to back it up then this will amaze you. Highly recommended for the die hard musician.

Alex is very caring and knowledgeable about all things string. I love bringing my instruments to him and his amazing luthier to spark them up. And the collection throughout his store is phenomenal. Special shoutvout to the Greek bazoukis! Only reason the stars are one shy is my overcautious masky self in the cramped space with an indoor mask rule that is not followed by everybody. I will still bring my instruments to Alex, though. And some strange stringed thing or things on his wall will end up in my house.

Unique instruments avail and they do repairs of instruments as well.Went in to check out some old guitars... ended up having an impromptu hour long music lesson - without touching a guitar. Marina Music is one of LAs treasure troves. The owner is very knowledgable. Side note** (ask him about his musical theory APP). His store is stocked with Newer pieces and Vintage pieces. Pricing is reasonable and he is willing to take an offer.The repair department was referred to me by others and I plan on taking my ES 335 in to be given a Set Up.I highly recommend keeping an eye on their inventory..!!

Just checked it out. Wasnt greeted, the place was dusty and old, and staff was opposite of warm. Apparently the boss is out of town because none of the employees know anything and theres no prices on anything so theyre literally in a hiatus until he comes back.
