Highly recommend this location.: good inventory, clean, swift and with cheerful service, especially with Amber at the desk! We came in after having a disappointing interaction with staff at U-haul of Crenshaw, and needed an immediate trailer rental. Amber worked quickly to provide service to customers- there was a very long line, and she multitasked using two computers to make sure she was getting folks their rentals as fast as possible. She accommodated several customers last-minute requests and even double-checked the inventory to make sure we were getting the best rental for our needs.
ZERO STARS IF I COULD.Julio, a staff member at the Obama Blvd location, made my experience with that U-Haul location absolutely horrible. After assisting all other customer in front of me (at an extremely slow and careless rate), he proceeded to treat me differently to all the rest. Where others were welcomed up to the counter, showed details on the computer screen and helped with a much friendly attitude, I WAS NOT TREATED THE SAME.Right away I was told to stand back, do not come past or near the shield, don’t touch anything, although customers before me were standing next to him, looking at his computer screen AND STANDING BEHIND THE SHIELD. Was then charged for excess miles/equipment that wasn’t even available in store/warranty. When I asked for those items to be removed, he claimed they couldn’t be adjusted and I’d have to take it up with customer service. Didn’t want to argue, accepted and PIAD the charges that HE claimed were non-adjustable.Julio personally handed receipts/final documents to all customers he assisted before me, when it came time to hand me my papers, he slid them under the barrier shield and told me to wait until his hand had been removed before I was able to take them.Discrimination and prejudice behavior are not appropriate traits for ANY employee to exude during a shift for ANY company. Treating ANY customer with the disrespect he showed me today was beyond inappropriate.SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION IS TERRIBLE. HOUR LONG LINES EVEN WITH RESERVATIONS/CHECK IN.JULIO RUINED MY EXPERIENCE WITH U-HAUL. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS.TERRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.
I had reserved e 15’ truck 2 days in advance. When I got there the person behind the counter could not find my reservation. I gave him the confirmation number and he couldn’t find that. So being frustrated he started entering information into the computer as a walk in. Then after going through all the information again he then had trouble finding the key to the truck that the computer printed up to him. After trying to search for this key I told him just pick one. I was already there for 25 minutes. So he went to his boss and she came out to see what the problem was. The manager found that the computer was logged into the wrong system. When that was corrected my reservation came up and I was finally able to get the truck, but now I had to go to the back of the building where the truck was park in and parking structure for which I had to back it out with no assistance hoping not to hit any support pillars. I was able to do that then I’m trying to get out down the driveway I wad blocked in for 3 more minutes till it was moved, then I was on my way to do my work with a delay of total 35 minute at 8:35am. Upon returning the truck I return it to the same location down the driveway to a spot that say stop here and someone will check it in. This was at 10:43am. So they said just drop the keys on the counter and go. I just got my receipt and it said they checked it in at 2:30pm. I saw no difference in charge so that was ok then but they did charge me for a dolly that I did not rent. So now have to find how to dispute that. So that was my experience at this location today

The staff was helpful and the vehicle worked great. A downside was that the location was a little packed and hard to find a parking. Staff availability could be improved as well, as I was unattended for 20 minutes for one simple question.
Ive rented U-Hauls a number of times in the past few years in the LA area. This location, by far, had the best customer service Ive ever experienced. Every employee I interfaced with treated me with the highest level of professionalism and customer service. I dont normally leave reviews but this U-Haul site deserved it. Special recognition to Mary at the front desk who helped me situate my rental when the self check-in system was giving me a hard time.
They charged me for extra time on they give me a very bad experience since they over charge me and oenaliaed me for returning the car the next day when the car was returned on time the same day... BE careful they will scam you if you dont cross all the Ts and dot all the is... Not good customer service... They rip you off.
Worst experience with using their shipping pods, my stuff was over a week late. had NO furniture during that period. HORRIBLE customer service ALL THE WAY AROUND. Absolute last time I use Uhaul. Prices are INFLATED too.
When I was returning my vehicle there was a semi blocking me. I asked what should I do and the agent took my keys and said he would take care of it. Then an additional charge was added to my bill. Go to the Crenshaw location instead.
They were the one thing that went right during a very difficult time in my life compounded by moving. Everyone there was professional and friendly especially Monique who even offered some well needed words of advice and Russ who was always there to help solve many problems. They both really went above and beyond, many thanks! I highly recommend them to anyone! Thanks again for all your help! Keep up the great work!
First time with uhaul. Terrible experience. Nobody acknowledged me or offered to help when I was trying to check in. I had to ask the employee even though they were sitting in front of the register.I was charged for fuel even though I filled up to the same line prior to returning the vehicle.There was a locked dolly in the truck that I didnt request, but they charged me for it. I was also charged for furniture pads that werent requested nor was it in the truck.If you need to come here, take pictures and document everything!
Its a great location and they have great staff, but they really need to hire more people. They dont have enough staff to serve everyone promptly so you might wait in line 15-30 minutes.
We rented a U-Haul van on Saturday at the Uhaul off Obama to be returned on Sunday.I had my sister to go up there early because our Appointment was at 6:45pm. When I arrived my sister and the other customers had a minor altercation with the employees, because no one was acknowledging them they have been there for over 20 minutes. they told them they were closing and why they come late but the appointment was 645 . The employees customer service was not very good except for one helpful young man. Because of the actions of one of these employees she Decides to hit the button and call the police, because she felt threatened because she was disrespectful. When the police came they explain what transpired and at the end of the day it’s all about respect especially if you’re working in a customer service type of business U-Haul you need to train new employees a little bit better than you are this is a very terrible experience I can’t believe we experienced this here. Also she didn’t want to even rent us the van she said was close.
I had originally reserved 3 U-boxes to be loaded at the Santa Monica location for a cross-country move. While purchasing boxes there a week prior to my load date, the front desk advised me they dont do U-boxes there, and transferred my reservation to Baldwin hills. When I arrived at Baldwin Hills on moving day, the U-boxes werent there, and they tried to tell me it was for the wrong date (it wasnt). Meanwhile I have movers waiting in the truck to unload, whom Im paying by the hour. Ultimately they sent me to the Alameda location which is like their main warehouse 30 min. away, and I was finally able to load there.TLDR: just use PODS and save yourself the headache of dealing with these guys incompetence.
I have used U-Haul four times. The first three times I had an excellent experience. Unfortunately this last time there was a problem but Amber worked with me and helped me with the situation. She was very helpful by making me aware of my rights as a customer. Amber took the time to help me even though I was three thousand miles away and she is an excellent representative of the U-Haul corporation.
I dis the process in the app, I had few questions and the were answer quick, the cargo van was clean and people was really nice there. I don’t recommend this location.

I came to this location after hours to do a truck drop off. It was easy to do using the app and the instructions provided on the app. The only trouble I had was locating the box to put the keys in.

Disorganized, messy trucks, always takes a while for staff to sort themselves out. Extra charges after check out that aren’t clear. Thank god I’m moving and will be using a different location moving forward

I went to this U Haul after being turned away by another one for not having any trucks available. From the moment I went in, I was greeted by a young lady who came from her office. She immediately found a van for me and I was on my way.
On the return, the first thing the agent said was, You better fold those furniture blankets---see that sign?---I will have to charge you $25 and pointed to the sign in the cargo area of the truck stating this. No welcome back, just a lecture. Of course, I spent the next 90 seconds folding the blankets---I dont fold things evenly, but it must have been good enough. (At the end of the past two rentals, I left the blankets unfolded and nobody said anything).
The first truck they brought out for us had no drivers side window. It would be better if the equipment was more thoroughly vetted. But the staff was friendly and helpful and took care of the situation immediately. The truck we ended up with was clean and in good condition as was the appliance dolly

Amber is one of the most professional and understanding General Managers I have encountered in Los Angeles. I want to thank her for providing awesome customer service because she went above and beyond to accommodate my needs for truck and storage rentals. She proved to me that she promotes ethical transactions in her facility, because she corrected the errors that could have charged me more money. I was surprised that she took her personal time on her day off work to solve my dispute and helped me to understand the contract was fair. I love this place because its clean, equipped with everything I needed to move, and the rates are fair. This location has an area were people donate items that are free to chose from. That was the fun part! So I recommend everyone to visit this location, and be patient because good service requires time for everyone. I rarely waste my time writing reviews. I’ve rented uhaul many times and never any problems. This place is horrible. The lady at the front desk disappeared for 10 min and I had to find another employee to help me check in. They. Charged me a $20 after hours fee for my truck but I returned in before 4pm and before I said I would. The gas tank was lower than it said on the paper. Also the outside of the truck was very dirty. Horrible experience. Stay far away.

It was a very frustrating experience. My friend reserved a rental van on their self-help app, which was supposed to make the process easy. However, the process was a complete mess. We waited for over 30 minutes, only to be told that the manager Amber Arzu couldn’t find the key to the van. During the entire time, I didn’t hear a single apology from the manager. Nor did she try to come up with a reasonable solution. We ended up switching to another location. If you value your time, think twice before going to this location.

I received perfect service from the two male staff with great patience and profession! Thank you! The female staff looks like that she doesn’t like her job. It’s my first time driving 10’ truck and I was learning by myself how to start and operate it in the car for just one minute after I got the key. And then the female staff kept asking me to drive and leave by knocking at my door again and again. It’s so rude and impolite and disrespectful to customer, Ok? I paid for my hourly renting rate and your salary . Customer, remember to avoid being accepted by the black woman staff.

We reserved a truck for 7am using mobile pickup. It didnt work, the phone lines had us waiting for an hour. They couldnt help us and told us to wait for them to open at 9am. When we finally got help, their excuse was oh were not doing 24/7 pickup. We didnt get a truck until 9:45am. We were operating on a schedule, and the near three hour delay cost us hundreds of dollars in various ways. I will avoid U-HAUL like the plague going forward.Oh and we found an open tube of toothpaste in the cargo bay. Gross.

WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. This is an extremely poorly run operation. It took 40 minutes to get my cargo van - which I had reserved via the app - at midday on a normal Thursday. I picked it up at noon and returned it at 4pm, after gassing it back up. And I sat and waited for 20 minutes for someone to inspect the return. Frustrated, I went into the lobby where the afternoon clerk said to just leave the keys with him and he’d email me the receipt. I did and left. This morning I got my receipt and was charged $45 for 3 gallons of gas (even though I had refilled the vehicle). Then they charged me an additional $20 for an “after-hours return.” It was not after hours. It was 4pm. Tried calling to refute the charges. Was put on hold for 40 minutes before I hung up. Completely ripped off. Fair warning. Avoid this location. Avoid avoid avoid.
Was told my rental would be $45 and it ended up being upwards of $100+ from hidden fees that were not disclosed to me before hand. On top of that, Amber (GM) was very rude the entire time not letting me explain the initial agreement that was understood beforehand.The responsibility to understand the ins & outs of a companies charges isnt on the customers, its on the business!!!Do yourself a favor and look somewhere with better ratings.

When I got there there was a person in each line so I sat on the boxes to wait my turn. With amazement I watched this women work both lines at the same time while answering internal and external calls and helping another employee with something else. She professional, efficient and courtesy. I later found out she was the GM and whoever promoted her she deserved it. Kudos to you Amber( I think that was the name) you did a excellent job.
Cashier seemed high at pickup, took forever and moved slowly. Nearly lost the keys which made me feel nervous, seeing as my day of moving was on a tight schedule.Truck only had 1/4 tank in it at pick up what the heck? And then when I returned it that evening the lady said with an attitude, “uhhhh it’s like almost on E.” So I said, yeah, that’s how you guys have it to me!To improve service, only hire staff who are strong morning people and/or don’t get high before work. And fill trucks up with enough gas between rentals that customer doesn’t have to fill it during the move!Truck itself ran fine and served its purpose.

Poorly managed store. Employees care little about customer service. It took three trips to the front desk to get two trucks that where blocking my truck moved. Why was I not given the front truck?

The lady at the Register was wonderful, very kind and helpful and even though there was a long line, she looked after customers at two cashiers. She was very helpful. The only thing I would complain about it the Uhaul dealer I first called which sent me to a location 6085 Venice and there was no one there. I had to call several numbers before I was redirected to this branch. Next time I wouldnt call a dealer through Google maps, I would go straight to the official branch. Also the $19.99 a day is not true once you add up all the additional costs. I walked out with a $89.00 with coverage and milage for renting a 10foot for a few hours. Anyway great marketing, it worked.
I’ve only rated it average for how long it took for me to retrieve items however, the average doesn’t apply to Amber the women in charge or her employees. They were a tremendous help despite being dealt with a small facility (one-way entrance/exit). The employees (Donavan and the lady in charge) at the warehouse at 89th street where my uBoxes were kept were great too. They were quick despite having a small alleyway to work with. Wish I could give more.
Very rude and unprofessional people made an appt tried to confirm hours later and was told i did not have a reservation had to go through alot on top of that my mother jad just died it was just so stressful situation
Baldwin Hills itself is fine, Uhaul national reservation if TERRIBLE.I will never ever recommend Uhaul again. NOT because of the local offices, they really tried to help. However, your reservation department gave me a run around that cost me 1 day of my time, over 100 miles of driving, and immense stress. I have used Uhaul for years and never was told on the day of pick up there is no truck and that there was no REAL reservation. I was told that the $50 deposit is not a real reservation. I am telling everyone I can about how terribly Uhaul is now running their business.

The mobile phone pickup and drop off process can be absolutely frustrating! One would think that doing all this precheck-in computer strokes before hand would shorten the process when arriving to pick up one’s equipment; however, the process for me, even given this was my second, or third time doing it this way, was tremendously frustrating, and a longer period of time to retrieve the equipment I was seeking, than going to the counter. It felt like such a waste of time. I would never go through this process again, and perhaps not rent from U-haul again, given the experiences I’ve had with this company over the years I’ve patronized it. It took me an additional 26 minutes after arriving to finally retrieve the van I rented. Four days later I needed to rent again, and went to Budget Truck rentals, and the experience was no less than perfect! Newer, and better vehicles, and way less hassle the rent!
Checked out a van without a reservation without any issues. Upon returning Amber the GM was very helpful and made sure I wasnt erroneously charged for anything (fuel mismatch). Please note this was during COVID and all workers were wearing masks and other precautions were taken at registers.
Do not trust Uhaul with your move. I moved cross country and ordered a U-box. Pick up was fine but when I got to LA the movers Uhaul connected me with didnt even have my dispatch. Even though I paid for it. I spent hours on the phone trying to get through to someone and each person gave me a different answer. The day my stuff was supposed to arrive I did not have movers and Uhaul informed me my stuff wasnt even in LA yet and they didnt know where it was. I called again Tuesday and my stuff had been there all along. I ended up just getting my own movers and the day I told them to get the box Uhaul was not responsive and almost didnt let my mover pick up my box. Worst experience ever. Do not hire these people for your move.
I made my reservation well in advance and on the day I went to pick up I open the back and there are no dollies. I ordered 1 utility dolly, 1 furniture dolly and 1 appliance dolly. They were out of all and I had to go rent from Home Depot instead because none of the local Uhauls had dollies. I feel if I already had these on hold they should not have been rented out unless I was late to pick up my equipment but I was on time and was inconvenienced. I also wanted to return the truck to another location which I was told I couldn’t do because there were no one-way vehicles as if the truck could talk and tell me it wasn’t a one way vehicle itself. Like how can I not take it and drop it somewhere else like it knows it’s supposed to be dropped off at the same location.... like no! That just didn’t make sense to me if you are all one business I should be able to drop off at a different location. This was just a poor experience and I spent Unnecessary money having to rent dollies elsewhere that in the end cost me $150 because i had to wait for someone with a truck to help me return them because i had to get the uhaul back by 8 and Home Depot was already closed.
Worst company ever. Made a reservation with days of anticipation. When I arrived they didnt have the trailer I rented. They sent me to a different location saying they had one available and reserved it for me and when I arrived at such location they said they didnt have it either.
They charge to much just for a small Uhaul plus they charge these ridicules hidden fees and ridicules amount for gas . the guy never told me my card with be charge with just the estimate so now i have to wait 3-5 days for the the actual charge to be place. If you think your just going to pay for 30 dollars just know your charge id going to be more than 30 most likely 70
Poor management. First U-Haul I went to that did not accept a fully valid foreign license, even when I also had my passport.. U-Haul, please put competent managers in place.
Literally the worst experience of my life.I ordered a dolly with my truck and when I got there there were no dollies. I was still charged for it and told to call headquarters to fix it. I spent a total of two hours of my time trying to fix a seven dollar bill. And it is still not fixed. Uhaul is the worst do not use a service.
The staff was no where to be found. If it wasn’t for an employee who so happened to come in on his day off walked to the back and got the employee members attention, I would still be at the counter till this day.The employee in question, was on the phone when I first walked in talking to someone about a fleet being towed in at 4am that morning and completely ignored me, the customer. I eventually left and returned and the 1st paragraph happened.The storage had no padlock for my unit and staff could careless. If it wasn’t for an employee who works in the fleet area helping me I would be without a padlock.
Absolute Incompetence.Don’t rent from this UHAUL. Poor organization and they forgot to tell us whether the rental was in town or one way; resulting in us driving to where we thought we can drop it off, only to be told to go back to Baldwin. The location we attempted to drop it off also informed us that a customer yesterday had the identical problem from Baldwin and that the location had to call Baldwin.Clearly this UHAULs facility is on another level of incompetence if other UHAULs say that they don’t know what they’re doing.

Absolutely abysmal experience from start to finish. Not only did U-Haul not have enough U-Boxes, I was lied to about it. I had to wait a whole day to receive the next U-Box, requiring me to delay my move and pay the movers extra, plus U-Haul didnt have enough boxes for my 1100sf, 2BR house, requiring me to leave thousands of dollars of belongings behind. And I didnt even have that much stuff to move (no bed/mattress, no dresser, no fridge, etc.).One of the U-Boxes was damaged upon arrival. Another was filled with trade show promotional items, which we had to leave on the sidewalk.On top of that, the staff was incredibly rude.Finally, when the U-Boxes arrived at my new home, there was additional damage and my TV was broken.The worst of it is that U-Hauls competition (PODS and U-PACK) both offered better rates, but I went with U-Haul because theyre the biggest name in the business, so I figured it would be better.HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
First I wanted to rent a truck from Culver City location. I tried from the website and I got reservation. 15 minutes later very “polite” lady changed it to this location. I called to see why I cannot get the truck from the desired location when it is available on the site and she told me that they don’t have any availability in my area for a month ahead. Ok, maybe Venice? No! They don’t too. Curious how is it possible but I accepted to take my truck from there.I went to take the truck and the guy who gave me the key and made the inspection told me that they are looking for only for major issues and damages with the truck. On first sight there’s nothing wrong with it and I accepted. Few hours later when I went back to return my rental the other guy who was there charged me $150 for something on the bumper. Tried to explain that was there when I got the truck but he said it was not marked so it is new. Definitely it wasn’t new damage, you can say it for sure but he rejected to hear my explanation. He told me the manager will call me on Monday. This manager never did it.Two days later I called customer service and the lady on the phone try to call the manager but her call was forwarded to U-Haul automatic phone service. She submitted a ticket for the incident and the manager should call me up to three days. Guess what, they never called me back.So, at the end of the day I was unfairly charged for something that was there before me. Be careful. I will never use this company again. I am curious how many people have been charged for this bumper? I guess enough for a new truck.

I tried to look for parking and there was only one available spot and an employee told me I can’t park there because they are too busy with trucks going in and out for me to take one parking spot. I asked if there was somewhere to park then and he said across the fence in a tow away zone area by a store. I needed to buy a pack of boxes and I couldn’t move or carry it by myself and I asked if I could just purchase the box kit and quickly get help loading it in that way I wouldn’t be in anyone’s way. I wasn’t renting anything. He said no that it was against protocols to help a customer carry or load anything inside a vehicle, even though I was offered this same help last time I was there. I said I couldn’t park in the other area, can’t park in their lot, and can’t get help, and asked what I could do, he just shrugged and said I don’t know and offered no solutions. I was also on hold for over 10 minutes trying to talk to someone at this location and was never answered to. If there’s no parking for customers, please don’t tell them to park their cars somewhere else they can’t actually park.

They failed to mention that they charge after hours convenience fee if you dont check in the vehicle using your phone.my contract says that I would be returning the vehicle at 6 pm and they close at 5pm.Parked thr vehicle inside the property.They have a key drop box, and thats where I put the key.They have security cameras and they can verify everything.Still decided to charge me.
I ordered and was charged for blankets which was not given to me. I had to make a return trip to the dealer to get my blankets. Then I was charged for TWO days rental on the truck when I had the truck from 11:51am to 5:27pm on the SAME day and I only put 18 miles on the truck! Plus I would have returned it sooner had it not been for having to make an extra trip for the blankets. And then to add insult to injury, I was billed the next day for also having the blankets for two days. In all, my experience was unacceptable and I will be contacting your office for corrections.
It’s amazing! By far the best location to get a uhaul. Their was once a time where this uhaul was bad. Those days are long gone. Amber the gm, is amazing and super help full. The only Downside is that they don’t answer their phones on time.
The front desk staff have always been helpful and informative when I’ve spoken with them, there is a good selection of boxes and they do their best to accommodate multiple customers, but there is only ever one person at the desk and wait times for help or service can sometimes be long.Even with self check-in and return for truck rentals.
This is a poorly ran establishment the Gm doesnt have a clue on what customer service IS she is the most GETTO manager EVER everyone just does their own thing all day its always a long line not one employee likes the place....... This is from an former employee i hope the place gets shut downBecause they have rats in the store too

I cant believe it took me 30 minutes to leave because the manager or the woman that was helping me choose on the captain phone texting doing something else employees shut up said of do her job and serve me and give me out she was on the phone all the time and with the talking to bought employees things

The gas needle on the vehicle floats ... drove the van only 11 miles put a little more than 1 gallon of gas in the tank ... was charge $7.50 for a gas charge.. I gases up at 1 am due to unloading late night ... the needle read past the the point of pick up ... upon returning driving only 3 miles it was below. I neglected to get the $4 reciept and I guess they believed I didnt put gas so charge me a fuel fee.... 11 miles driving only. I DRIVE v8 cyl cargo van wont burn $7,.50 Worth of gas in 11 mile drive.If I wanted to save money I wouldnt have purchased the comprehensive / Collison insurance ... I hate when companies push or give incentives to up sale or try to find ways to up charge customers. Have lost my business for sure.... I just rented for convenience ...I own a cargo ...just wanted to save some time ... unloading 2 vehicles is quicker than unloading 1 vehicle in my case... SHAME ON UHAUL LABREA / OBAMA BLVD LOCATION
Overcharged me the cars lights wasnt working and I had to do the moving the next day. I have explained this and nobody seems to care
