They close before the listed hours. I tried 2 weeks ago and it was completely dark so it must have closed over an hour before stated time. They also dont answer the phone. Its currently 3 hours before alleged closing time but theres no answer

This place is amazing theyve got so much stuff. They employees were never rude to me and actually pretty helpful. I told the the guy at the front that I wanted to buy a pirate sword and he kindly let me in. Another employee helped find what I was looking for which was very helpful.and about those Rats...who cares?! its supposed to be a Halloween store. it adds to the spookiness lol

I bought a costume that came with missing gloves. When I went back, they started arguing and implied that I stole them. After convincing them to take it back and wasting 3 hours, I bought another costume and once again, it came with missing items. They dont let you check in the store and later, if you go back they start arguing. I dont even have it in me to go and argue for the second costume and waste more time and energy. Horrible people, horrible experience. Ruined my first Halloween.

Huge Halloween store like youd expect in Hollywood. Tons of styled wigs, costumes for adults and children. Props and make up counter. Fun displays. Magic tricks too. Mask required.

This store has been around since the 50s. Great selections but choose wisely, there are no refunds.

Staff was very rude and followed me around the store. I didn’t feel welcome at all and I felt like I was being racially profiled. When I went to the fitting room the walls were sticky and I saw a roach. Definitely would not come back. The roach was kinda cute though.

Lots of cheap costumes and fake injury makeup supplies for high prices. Nothing concerning sustainability or catering to organic/eco markets. But then again, that doesnt really exist for costumes or anything else in Hollywood atm as far as Im aware?And they got completely rid of their formerly vast selection of contact lenses, which is a major bummer!!!

The owner or employee who was sitting on a stool at the door was very rude and bothered when I asked if they had a website and business card. They were only open for pick up, I didnt know that so I asked where I could do online shopping. The man was clearly annoyed, rolled his eyes when I asked for more info, and didnt say anything when he handed me the card.

I wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone in the Hollywood scene. The employees were very rude to me for no apparent reason, I was very uncomfortable the entire time. I witnessed a rat and a few roaches running along the wall, searching for food to eat, the food in question was crumbs on the floor that these employees didnt pick up after their lunch break. The store was also very unkempt 0/10. Ive been to party city franchises with better costume options.

I walked into the store and someone followed me the entire time and whenever I picked something up they looked over at the counter so the person there could watch me. I continued to walk to the fitting rooms and I saw 2 rats in the first room so I went to other rooms and there was roaches in those so I settled with the rats because I have a deathly fear of roaches. I walked out of the fitting room door to see the lady was still there waiting to continue following me. I walked around the store and there were rats and roaches everywhere, I then paid and immediately left. 0/10 and I defined do not recommend.

This place is extremely disgusting and the service here is beyond horrible. Roaches? Crawling everywhere. Rats? You’d think that they worked there. After telling the lady who actually worked there about the health hazards, she picked up a roach and ate it saying “listen to that crunch”. I do not recommend shopping here!

Unbelievable this store its one of the older still in operation with great customs for any season . It feel like Halloween, a lot special effects make it you will find here.

The employees wouldnt stop watching me when i came in the store, i tried picking out clothes and even saw a rat on the floor,,, when i was checking out they kept asking me if i had enough money when i did :/ they literally picked me up and threw me out and kept my clothes that i BOUGHT, refused to give me refund and slammed the door in my face. do not go there.

Ive never once been in a store like this one. When I got the store a lady followed me around, I found something I wanted to buy and when I was walking to the changing room she said Idk what youre trying to do bae, you look like totoro, fe fi fo fum headass I ignored it a moved on but once I got in the changing room I saw a group of rats preforming Hamilton with the pieces of fabric that was left on the floor because of the horrible material used to make the stuff there. After that I saw roches on the table and she said its fine, theyre always there plus there a good snack when youre hungry I DO NOT recommend 1/10 (the 1 is becuase the tension between Ramilton and Rangelica had me in tears, great show!!)

The staff was very rude to me after I told them that I had seen several roaches while shopping in there store. They threatened to sue me for defamation even after I showed pictures of the roaches I found. One of the employees even tried to take my phone and smash it. I do not recommend shopping here.

After going to the dressing room and trying to try on my costume I realized I had to take my shoes off.I took them off and stepped on something crunchy.When I looked down I saw the remnants of a DEAD ROACH! Do not go here!

When I stepped into the store there was a group of rats chasing me around every aisle also the blonde haired guy working there was very rude he threw caca in my hair, would not recommend :)

Was not a good experience, I was constantly being eyed and felt highly uncomfortable. I felt as if I was being racially profiled, but then my suspicions were confirmed when I started to be followed. It made me extremely uncomfortable. And there were flies!

I walked in and ignored the fact the employee was standing there not wearing a mask and I said hello, he said nothing.. and I make it 2 aisles over before hes followed me and completely bent his head around the corner to silently observe me until I make eye contact and he quickly turned the corner. I immediately walked behind him and left because I dont appreciate being followed in the store.

Fun place with A LOT of things. For example I had never seen costumed realistic dragon wings before and they had a whole selection of them. Only downside is that a lot of stuff has cancer warnings for contained chemicals and out of the stuff I bought one of the items was super loose and I had to fix it with Bobby pins to get it to stay together. Which sucks not only because I paid for it but because theres a no return policy. But otherwise great store.

Came a few weeks ago for a wig for a party and was pretty impressed by the massive selection of all things costume. Came back yesterday to get a last minute costume part for Halloween and was even MORE impressed at what a well-oiled machine this place was even with the throngs of shoppers also here last minute. Was almost immediately approached and offered help getting exactly what I was looking for. The line was long, but moved quickly. In all, I was in and out within 8 minutes and with a smile. The prices are solid for the area and the service was fantastic.

This whimsical establishment is an art house and toy store. Its located in the Mission and chocked full of vintage and unique toys, science kits, sustainably green games, and a plethora of other great, quirky items that will leave kids riveted.They also have a play-space in the back that is allocated for classes and workshops.

Perfect place to buy your costume. Even back to Brazil I still keep on buying through its website on the internet.

This place has tons of costumes at affordable prices. I had a hard time deciding which costume I was daring enough to wear. They gave me their full attention for several hours up until closing, then another session the next day. 😂I finally decided. Ill post pics later.The prices are fair for the industry, but the service is by far superior to any other place in town!

As a makeup artist, this place is life! It has everything you could need or want. Decent prices and friendly staff. Wide variety of makeup, props, costumes; you name it.

Selection is okay,, pretty cheap stuff with hiked up prices. I even witnessed a worker trying to scam another customer by telling her the price was higher although the sign said otherwise. They basically tried to scam us too cause when we asked the price from one worker it was low, but the same lady near the jewlery said otherwise... these people need to have set prices for things instead of scamming people into overpaying..... very unprofessional

Very unprofessional I called to follow up for an application and the manager gave me an attitude saying not to call and immediately hung up before I could even respond. I have always loved this place. Been in there twice but there seems to be something new every time. This time a guy was doing magic tricks for everyone. Lots of magic, lots of costumes, lots of things to see.

What a cool little shop. Love the unique and one-of-a-kind finds for kids. My daughter loved the archeological dig and played here for over an hour (longer if we would have let her). The staff is also very sweet, surprising since most seem too young to have kids and all really have the cool urbane thing going on (you know these types, the ones who roll their eyes at kids but these folks here were lovely to the little ones). My only complaint is that the store needs more stuff! Find some more ceramic antlers, more paper mache birds, more pyrite for kiddies, love everything here.

Got all my childhood games! Its a bit pricey but worth of you are looking for. Plus, the owner is really nice and plenty of parking in the back.

Awsome store! Great Wigs and Costumes, park a block away on Selma and Cherokee $10 instead,of $15or $20!pay $3 and you can try on 3 wigs, The wig Stylist was very nice and Loved styling the wigs. The customer service was great and Costumes they had good stock options

This store saved me! I ordered a costume for my 8 year old daughter on amazon and the costume never got delivered. The costume was sold out everywhere in Canada. I called Hollywood Toys and Costumes and they had the costume delivered to my friend in Studio City within 24 hours - timing worked out because my friend was flying up to Canada the weekend before halloween. Thank you so much for such an easy transaction and amazing customer service! Special shout out to Megan who was so awesome!

Great inventory year round. Parking can be tricky. No returns or exchanges on merchandise. This is my go-to costume shop for wigs and performance outfits and props.

Them have lots of Amazon surf and good prices, but the place looks run down... the dont Carry magic supplies anymore
