Beautiful and homey space with music, books, and unique products from local creatives. I could hang here with my laptop or a good book and a glass wine all day. I attended a meet and greet event today with the owner and the vibe was so chill. The owner Jazzy and her team are so welcoming and they have a few prophetic connections you should ask about when you go. I cant rave enough about this space of reading and connection. Black Girl Magic AMAZING!!!
I love this bookstore. The community space is beautiful and it’s such a warm environment. Jazzi is so kind and welcoming!! Support Black women owned biz! Everyone who works there is amazing. I don’t live in LA anymore but I still buy online and even request titles they don’t have since they offer and they’ve never disappointed. 💚
I love Rep Club! Jazzi has created such a beautiful, unique community space -- I cant wait until it can be open again. I love the curated goods, welcoming couch and TV, and of course her tiny pup Smalls. In the meantime, Ive ordered several books for shipping during the Covid-closure, which has been easy and fast. Ive even been able to order books NOT listed on the website through custom orders, so be sure to ask about any books youre looking for to support this small, Black woman-owned business! I recommend them to everyone I know :)
What a gem!Reparations Club is located off of Jefferson and Crenshaw and is tucked away on a quiet, residential street. The store’s aesthetic is beautifully designed and there are so many great books to choose from covering topics ranging from gender, politics, art and more. The shop is Black-woman owned and they primarily carries titles from Black authors.Jazzy & Fox who are always super friendly and helpful anytime I come in I feel like I’m talking to family :).I run a youth art class in the area and they’ve even agreed to loan us books (for free) to read to the kids.Ugh, I love it here!I’ve also ordered books online from their site and they’ve arrived pretty quickly. If you are in need of good books and community, now you know where to go.
I stopped using Amazon as my ‘go to’ book stop. I believe in supporting minority women-owned businesses. I ordered a variety of books from Reparations Club on various topics. The care of the books received and notes written by the owner, Jazzi, and her staff thanking me for supporting the store, out ranks anything I would ever get from Amazon. If they do not have the book on hand, they will order it for you and get it to you as soon as possible. If it was possible to give ten stars, I would. Stop ordering from these big book places and support the small book store! Love Reparations Club!
This is by far my favorite bookstore. Personable, fashionable AF, superior curation skills. I tend to shop in store and request books through their email for the ones that aren’t listed. They’re always incredibly quick to reply. At many other bookstores, asking for book recs often feels like you’re asking the employee their most dreaded question- everyone at rep truly seems happy to help and genuinely interested in the opinions of their patrons. I could not recommend rep more!! Please go if you haven’t. Please email them if you haven’t! And its cute as heck!!!
Beautiful little indie bookstore with a well curated offering of books. We loved it.
You wont regret buying your next book at Reparations Club! Ordering online is SO easy if youre not in town. Quick shipping, and it helps to know that the folks on the other end of my order are friendly and passionate about what they do! Cant wait to visit them in person, but for now I love browsing through their growing selection of wondeful books online! Forever a fan!
I absolutely LOVE Reparations Club. Best selection. Best decor curation. Best vibes. Please do yourself a favor and go visit. Absolutely worth your time. Buy many many books from here.
A great bookstore, with an awesome selection, vibe and light.
Beautiful space, welcoming people and an abundance of books. All around awesome place to shop and vibe.
Fantastic! What a wonderful space.
I went to Reparations Club a few weeks ago to pick up a book I had ordered online and I can’t stop thinking about the feeling I got when I walked in. It feels so cheesy to say but, it was like a breath of fresh air. The chartreuse door opens up into a vibrant space filled not only with books by Black authors but, also a curated collection of products by Black-owned companies and, they were playing all of my favorite Tiny Desk concerts on the big screen. The energy from the whole crew that day was warm, inviting and super helpful. I left with a couple extra books including “The Secret Lives of Church Ladies” by Deesha Philyaw (Jazzi’s recco) which I devoured in two sittings. Please go and support this lovely space and the people that run it. It’s really a treasure.✌🏻
This is a great bookstore! I order from them online. Jazzy gives fantastic recommendations. You just cant get this type of personal help on Amazon. So happy to find such a great bookstore!
I purchased books from Rep Club on their website. They have a fantastic book selection! Fast shipping. I can’t wait to visit in person some time!
A welcoming staff and well stocked shelves. I will definitely be going back.
What a vibe! Cant wait to stop by
Amazing bookstore in LA / online with a wonderful collection of titles!! Jazzi is the best - highly recommend!
In an effort to ween myself off of purchasing books through massive online retailers, I went searching for independently owned, Black owned, woman owned bookstores and Reparations Club is the trifecta I was dreaming of! The curated recommended titles and upcoming releases are always ahead of the curve, the prices are competitive, and their ordering/shipping timeline has amazed me. I just placed an online order for 2 best sellers on the 16th and had them on my doorstep on the 19th! (Note: I live local in Los Angeles, as well). They have all the titles you want to read, titles that you need to read, and a little something extra for friends, too. I look forward to visiting their store IRL to check out the rest of their offerings and for continued good feelings about where Im spending my money and the gifts (money cant buy) Ive gotten in return. Thank you!
Although i have never physically been in the Reparations Club before, i have purchased two of their books (assata shakur and the wretched of the earth). very quick shipping ! i will purchase more of their books again in the future. --- some advice: support your local community space and purchase books from your local bookstores rather than from amazon or other big corporations. thank you, reparations club!
Great selection, great customer service, great store!!
Great vibe - friendly owner
Pre-ordered two titles last week, the first arrived in perfect condition (and wrapped in chartreuse tissue paper 💖) today! Great online ordering experience, excited to visit in-person post-COVID.
I loved going to this place in-person. Now that thats not a thing, I tried ordering from them online. I ordered a book at 11PM, and even though I entered the wrong address (like a dummy) they delivered the book to me by 4PM the next day!!!! Amazon could NEVER and Reparations Club will be my bookseller from here on out!
I absolutely love Reparations Club. I’ve been here a couple of times since they’ve opened and have found a great selection of beauty products, records and clothing. (PLUS they do cool rotating art shows!)My friend also loved the books I got her for her birthday the first time I went in and I met the owner while I was there that time. She was really nice and said they do events there as well :) I haven’t had a chance to go back check one out yet but it’s definitely now on my radar.
Recently ordered online due to COVID closing down their physical location, but the service was amazing! They have an excellent selection of books and when I had an issue with the order (which was on the part of USPS and current coronavirus related issues), Jazzi was excellent help in aiding with me with any issues I had. Her responses were always very helpful, courteous, and quick! I bought two books and they came in spectacular condition. Plan on buying from here again!
Fabulous service! I got my order quick and the website is extremely easy to order from! Thank you Reparations Club!!!!
Beautiful space! Felt very warm, like a place Ive been going to all my life. Also a very Black space, the owner had lipstick cases for sale! Other items ranged from unique earrings and rings to BPP free breakfast program shirts and noname book club bags, records, candles, art, and of course an amazing selection of books. Was here for an event, but will definitely be back! Love, love, love the reparations club!!
The Reparations Club is amazing. The set up, the decor, the overall vibe and especially the owner Jazzi. Booked the Rep Club to host an event and she was such a gracious and accommodating hostess. Everyone who attended the event loved it there. Thank you Jazzi
Absolutely love the tote bag I bought from here! Also a great place to watch TV and hang.
I bought an amazing shirt and keepsakes from this beautiful shop. I can’t wait for my next trip. #ReparationsNow
Love this space and what it represents. The curation is amazing!
Dope place, parking is a little hard but not super bad
Crazy good curation, sweet people, and a welcoming environment. Dont touch her blonde vinyl though, it isnt for sale.
A place to find yourself, learn yourself and love who you are and where you come from
Neat place with lots of charm..
Excellent experience, would recommend.
