Had a vintage road bike that needed a good bit of work on it. These guys tuned up, cleaned up, and gave a lot of love to repair a bike days ahead of schedule. This bike has been a great aide win keeping me active when there is no access to a gym. The even made a quick repair for a operator error. Really passionate guys in the cycle community.

Went in to buy a quick-release for my front wheel. Mike and a young guy helped me pick the one I was looking for. Didnt try to sell me a kit which was higher in price, instead sold me just the piece I needed for under $5.I returned today to get the bike tuned-up, and got the same friendly service leaving my bike. Mike checked and confirmed in-front of me I didnt need any other parts at that moment. I got a text about 5hrs. later that it was ready.The young man (sorry didnt ask his name) informed me of a little glitch the bike has but happens occasionally and didnt try to sell me a new part.Bike looks and feels great! Will definitely recommend them!

Went in for new brake pads and they were incredibly honest and said it was not needed. How rare is that? Got a quick tune up right there and then for an incredibly low price. Fantastic place to take your bike in. Highly recommended.

Gotta admit I like these guys. Not a huge selection of gear but they always have the parts I need and try to help me immediately even tho I know they are buried with covid newbies, cant get parts and are operating out of a.tiny location. Every time I come in, no matter how slammed they are, they acknowledge me, listen, hear and assist if they can. Seems like they are the only shop in the area that consistently treats everyone with TLC. God love em. Give them your business. You wont regret it.

This place is great. I came in for a flat and they stopped what they were doing to fix it really fast and even gave me a mini tune-up. They also gave me a new valve cover. Very friendly and know what theyre doing. Another guy came in briefly while I was there, just for air, and they happily helped him out. Quality people here.

Truly wonderful. A million acts of kindness at no or minimal charge. Air in the tires, a derailleur adjustment, cleats on the bike shoes, staying late to help. Theyre a real neighborhood bike shop--a throw-back to the 50s when this kind of customer service was common-place.By contrast, Helens charged to put air in my tires! And the tire blew on my way home. Sheesh!These guys know the meaning of community. I am grateful theyre part of my neighborhood. They have more than earned my loyalty and patronage not to mention that theyre great at what they do.

This bike shop is one of my favorites in town since they provide the greatest bike service. When I dont have much to do at home, I frequently go to this bike shop.

These guys are always so helpful and the prices are great. Im used to bike shops nickel and diming you for everything but not at Labrea Bike Works. They even noticed my handlebar end cap was missing and gave me one free of charge.

Favorite bike shop. Ever. How much have I ridden? Over 60,000 miles. And for enough years to have had 14 bikes stolen. Yes, I keep count (and I now take greater precautions) My favorite bike? The Raleigh with internal hub from La Brea Bike Works. Bikes are my primary transportation. Btw, La Brea Bike Works is on 3rd Street, across from the fire station, NEAR La Brea Avenue. Highest recommendation.

I stopped by here for the first time on Saturday and wondered why it took me so long to get out here. For outdoor sports and activities this is a great place to go with a selection and prices. My gym membership gets me another 10% off as well.

Its always a good idea to review at least couple months after a service has been rendered. They stole my both wheels and i took it to this shop to replace it. They have charged me $279 for two wheels tires and discs which is a lot for a $500 bike but under Covid and bike shortage i was cornered and agreed and here why this shop is rated one star:1- My back bike rack was was gone after i tale the bike from them. I sent Mike shop owner the picture of bike when i dropped it and the rack was there. He try to denied but picture was the evidence. After 3 weeks of waiting he put a cheap and smaller rack. But the spring of his rack broke one month after and he didn’t intend to replace and he couldn’t fix it. So make sure to take a picture of your bike accessories while it is in his shop as they have tendencies to take stuff out! Dishonest.2- the tires that he put was so low quality that it got flat twice in one month and i never had a flat before. He admitted that he used cheap tire because i was on a budget. ( $280 for two wheels and he call it budget) but professionalism and honesty dictates that you warn your clients that i will do it but with cheap stuff. Then i take it to other shops. So i have to pay him another $20 for a flat fix but second flat i used a liquid that fix flats.3- then the break start to make noise 2 months after and when i called they told me its a disc quality.Now i have a bike with a ear splitting disc break. Tires filled with liquid to not go flat and have to pay $49 for a new back rack like i had plus the ordeal of assembly.When i was there dropping my bike i saw he had a fight with a client that his assistant gave him a$120 estimates but he wanted now $200 and he wasn’t polite and professional with that guy. I should have took that as a indication and not leave my bike at his shop.On that note he is not recommended.

Great neighborhood bike shop. The owner is upfront and honest. I bought my bike from this shot and Im happy with it. I would call ahead before heading to the shop cause they are often sold out of bikes.

The bike shop that restored my faith in bike shops. Biked from really far away and got a flat, they were the nearest bike shop. Installed a new tube for me free of service charge, staff was super professional and kind. Any other bike shop wouldve charged me an arm and a leg just to install a inner tube. Would visit again if Im ever in the area.

Gem of an old school, small bike shop in the heart of the CA wiggle. Been here twice expecting to drop my bike off and pick it up a few days later. And both times they fixed my bikes while I waited. Fast, professional, thorough, and cheap!

Its been a long time since I had a bike I truly LOVE to ride. I went in looking for a hybrid bike for my work commute. They hooked me up with one well within my price range that has all the bells and whistles I could hope for. The the staff went the extra mile to order a frame that fits my small stature and adjust everything specifically for me. They were unbelievably nice and offered detailed explanations that helped me make an informed decision between a 6ku bike and a Raleigh bike. I love the trigger shifters and disc brakes on the 6ku I bought, and could not be happier with how smooth it rides. Thanks for making the whole experience great guys!

I am so disappointed with bike shops in LA. so I came here since I was nearby thinking ok how can this be 5 star place, I was scared im gonna told something weird as always in bike shops.. but realized this place is nice, really wants to understand what customers want and then try to help. accepts apple/android pay too, so definitely recommend to come get/fix/tune your bike and accessories to it. no regrets

Update:Went back recently to get new tires. Selection was very low, but settled in two slicks. When pur the rear tire back on i was informed your frame is bent. (The frame is not bent, BTW). The chain tensioner he put on backwards, instead of checking his work. Tried to make me believe in needed a new bike.2 very different experiences. Guess I will purchase from Amazon in the future

Got a killer bike for our 9 year old here. Checked on amzn, place was the same price, but i support local business and get tune ups. Then i needed a bike for me. I wish i spent the 400 at bike works as he suggested. I got one for 250 on amzn. its ok, but I can feel how cheap it is. I learned
