I asked for the ingredients of my lox sandwich to be separated. They wrote “impossible” on the receipt. The cashier effectively shrugged, and I didn’t want to give her a hard time. It was a “no soup for you” experience. I’m never going back.
Awesome place to eat ...GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ....CECILIA GONZALEZ HAS THE BEST ATTITUDE GREAT WORKER !
Out of this world delicious!!! If I could eat here 3 times a day I would, so GOOD!!
Just a little window you order at, no indoor seating but not a big deal. The selection of bagels was great. They had some flavors I am not used to seeing, such as garlic and chocolate bagels. Plenty of street parking as well.
Food is great. Customer service not so much. The girl overcharged me $16 when I ordered a $5 sandwich. She’s just rude and has no hospitality. Probably won’t come back.
Bagels are good but not a NY amount of cream cheese
I enjoyed the Brooklyn Bagel Bakery. Staff was friendly and service prompt. For me, the bagels were too much like regular bread, and lack the crust and chew I look forward to in a bagel. Give it a try and see what you think!
First time at Brooklyn Bagels.. Good bagels but not enough cream cheese. Fyi No cask accepted.
I live in Brooklyn, NY and I can say with the utmost confidence that these are some of the best bagels I’ve ever had. My go-to when in Los Angeles.
Coming from Brooklyn, this La bagel place has decent bagels. Definitely better than most in la
They have great bagels, but I went there about 2 weeks ago and they gave me rotten cream cheese. I asked for a refund and got no response. They lost a customer. I’ll never go back to Brooklyn Bagel. I’m going to try Noah’s NY Bagels.
Our bagels were old and the wrong kind of chewy. Was I supposed to specify fresh? We ordered the cranberry apple and the cranberries were scarce and tiny, like they chopped up the cranberries even smaller. I like my bite to have whole cranberries. Oh, a bit pricey too. Im willing to give it a second chance but Im going to be a princess about it and request whole cranberries and a fresh baked bagel order.
Ive been looking for a nice bagel spot to give me feelings of back home in New York and honestly, this might be the place.Although there isnt a lot seating, the style and level of freshness they are able to provide leaves me wanting more. They have a wide assortment of bagels and spreads that left me wanting to come back to try more.Even though the surrounding area both looks and feels a bit rough, once you enter this place you experience the same feeling as being in New York.Workers were friendly and very efficient which always a plus as well. 5 out 5! Cant wait for my next bagel.
Very good toppings, my only thing is they slice the bagel unevenly which leaves the bottom of the bagel too thin and it kind of gets soggy with cream cheese. Best everything bagel seasoning tho!
Incredible selection, even better bagels. These bagels are delicious and just the right density, and their spreads are amazing. If youre looking to get a good, cheap bagel and a tasty coffee while youre on the go, this place is THE go to spot. A large variety of bagels and spreads, everything tastes fresh, and the price is hard to beat. Parking isnt plentiful in the area but Ive never had to look too far. I only recently discovered this place and now they have my business for life.
Long wait. Customer ahead of us waited over 20 minutes to get the wrong order and they wouldn’t refund him. Cream cheese 2oz is $2.00!(over priced). Pastrami bagel sandwich had one small sprinkle or pastrami we almost couldn’t find it. There was on real flavor. Lox and bagel sandwich was better because the lox piece was a good size but the sandwich was soggy. We won’t be going back sadly.
This place used to be my go-to bagel shop. Employees can be kind of short with you because they’re busy, but when an employee called out my name as “Zebra” then laughed when I corrected her and the manager hung up the phone when I contacted him about it..definitely will not be going here anymore. Incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Not worth an $8-$10 bagel if you can’t even attempt to pronounce an ethnic name correctly or apologize if you’ve pronounced it so wrong.
Throwback, bagel bakery w/ great bagels and limited menu. Currently no seating due to C-19 restrictions. 5 stars for the bagels. The coffee is caffeinated at least.
I’m reviewing this as someone who previously lived in NYC, so I’m searching for a New York bagel substitute in LA.While the name “brooklyn bagel bakery” might lend to you ideas of a New York bagel. It’s… not. The bagels are fine, they’re a little small and the everything’s don’t include salt in their “everything”. I had a BEC and there was a good ratio of egg to bacon to cheese. HOWEVER, this type of sandwich comes stand with CREAM CHEESE. Which is chaotic and heinous, so I asked for it to be taken off. As far as the price range goes, these are pretty pricy, my bagel was somewhere in the $7-8 range which is pretty pricy for a BEC.Overall, it’s an expensive bagel for just being fine. Also, the parking situation seemed to be street-only from when I was there.
Not sure why they call this place Brooklyn Bagel, Im from NY and the bagel here doesnt compare. It was tiny like the mini bagels you buy in the supermarket for your kids and over toasted.
Yay! They are finally open again! I was waiting for this place to open for the longest! I had always seen this place near my house when I had recently moved. The problem is, it closed and we didnt get a chance to try these delicious bagels. So we patiently waited and it has finally opened again 🤗 we went today trying to get some bagels but to my sad surprise, they were out of sesame bagels 💔. I truly hope that they plan on making enough of the semame bagels to have for the whole day because that should be in stock since its a very common and high demand type of bagel 😬 I will definitely go back again and I hope they have it in stock along with maybe not leaving their milk container for the coffee in the sun 😅 But yeah, my husband loved the blueberry bagel and the pizza bagel. Their cream cheese was also pretty good. I just wish the bagels were a bit bigger but overall Im so glad they are open again 🎊 wishing you guys all the best and for many many many more years to come 👍🏼
I lived in NY, worked in NJ. I know what a bagel is supposed to taste and feel like. Texture, taste is equally important. Ive been here once to try it. I drove out of the way just to get a bagel on a Saturday morning. It was around 10am, so not too early for a weekend, not too late. I ordered 4 bagels. An everything bagel with cream cheese. A plain jalepeno cheese. A cheese bagel with cream cheese. And a blue berry bagel with cream cheese. I did not get any of them toasted. The bagels were advertised to be fresh, and they should stand well enough on their own. My everything bagel was a bit dry. There wasnt enough cream cheese in it. For LA people, Its enough. For an East coaster, its too light. Needs 2x as much, easy. The plain jalepeno cheese was much better. It had the correct texture of a bagel. Slightly crisp on the outside, soft and doughy and dense in the middle. This was much better. The blueberry once again, pretty dry. The cheese bagel was average. Cant complain. Overall I give it a 4. Its very similar to a Goldsteins, which means its way better than a supermarket bagel, probably equal to a deli in NYC, but not on the same level as a GREAT bagel place in Jersey or NYC. I wouldnt make the trek just to get these bagels.
Online ordering for lox bagel says it comes with cream cheese herb spread, but they charge you $2 more for it…this should be fixed, it’s not worth $11.50. Good bagels though.
Crusty on the outside, chewy on the inside. But, not doughy and lighter than a traditional bagel. The herb cream cheese was delicious.Oh, and this was maybe the first time ever a stranger didnt need help saying my name correctly.
The employees and service very bad, she called my name wrong and when I corrected her she made fun of me. will not recommend this place to spend your $$ at, I would go to a place that I get respect and appreciates my business
Love it. Food was amazing. Wouldve took a picture but completely forgot while I was eating lol but trust me you wont regret eating here
Delicious bagel sandwiches & fresh orange juice. The prices are fair but a little bit on the expensive side. So far so good! Will be stopping by more often.
OMG, I thought this place was shut down for good. I am going back tomorrow for the closest thing to NY style bagel in LA. This is the kind of bagel you can eat all by itself, without the help of cream cheese.
Great to have Brooklyn Bagel back in the neighborhood! I attended the now gone Our Lady of Loretto HS around the corner and have had a long, happy affair with BB. These are the real deal, not the huge, commercial blobs of dough others try to pass off as bagels. BB has traditional as well as some novel bagels (jalapeño cheese anyone?) They freeze and toast up beautifully too! Enjoy!
Bagels are good but they take forever for orders. I remember before they remodeled they had some Mexican ladies who took orders fast and had them ready in minutes. Now the new employees are slow, lazy, and take forever. No sense of urgency.
I honestly feel compelled to write a review of this place for my fellow LA bagel lovers out there. I was thrilled to discover that this spot reopened just a short walk from where I live, and equally disappointed after trying it this morning. I ordered an egg and cheese on an everything bagel, which was fairly average. The microwaved egg (if its not microwaved, Im not sure what theyre doing - its that kind of consistency) is just such a let down for the price, and the cheese doesnt have any sharpness to it. Then I got a salt bagel which I put my own cream cheese on. Holy moly is this thing inedible. I ~love~ salt. Like, I enjoy sodium to an unhealthy degree, and this thing had 2 or 3 times the amount that Id enjoy on a bagel. Plus, its table salt, which is just such a strange choice. I tried scraping some of the salt off, but I gave up halfway through and threw the rest away. Just a really disappointing experience overall. Id highly recommend Maurys nearby to anyone whos looking for a decent bagel in the LA wasteland.
I love the food here!! This place does not shy away from the season on there food. Great tasting and mouth watering.
Love the bagels. But twice in a week they have screwed up my orders. From now on. I’ll just buy the bagels and add the toppings myself. Not the end of the world. But know you’re better off dyi-ing than ordering custom orders
The most amazing bagel shop in all of Los Angeles and Ive been to quite a few.
Cheddar & jalapeno coverd bagels my fav... these are good alone, just add some cream cheese and bacon and now you have a winner.
Love these bagels. I’m a simple water bagel kind of person but if you want a sandwich go with the lox
Its about time. You have been missed. Ive been a customer for over 30 years. I would get my bakers dozen right after they opened in the morning. The smell and the warmth coming from the bag is undiscribable. I would make sandwiches with them for the kids lunches. No matter how you dress them. They are addictive. Glad to get my hands on them again. Im a customer for life. You could have relocated and opened somewhere else. But you didnt. You came back HOME...
Disappointing, feels like 3rd gen that doesnt care...wont last with no passion
Overpriced and mediocre. They have no business putting the world “Brooklyn” in their name when the bagels are basically store-bought and the size of the ones you buy at the supermarket.
Good bagels in LA. Classic menu.
The only thing they are missing is schmeer. 😉
Hands down -- Brooklyn Bagel Bakery is THE place for the best bagels in LA! Ever since they re-opened, Ive been coming in regularly and just when I thought they couldnt get better... they expanded their sandwich menu to include Pastrami, Smoked White Fish, and a bunch more deliciousness! If you want some authentic and amazing bagels in LA, look no further my friend.
Gotta build your own bagel if youre doing a sando. Recommending anything with pastrami, the jalapeno cheese bagel or pizza bagel!
Excellent bagels but understaffed and poor execution of pick-ups. takes 30+ minutes sometimes to get a pick-up order in the-morning (just the bagels in a brown bag! no eggs sandwiches or coffees for that matter)
I found bug in my bagel and call the manager and he hung-up on me, lol
Best bagels in the city. Have been coming here since I was a kid and never realized that bagels anywhere near as delicious are hard to find anywhere in California. It was a hard few years when this Los Angeles institution was closed due to structural damage but I am glad they are back. Get the pizza bagel. Reminds me of LAUSD pizza bagels but better.
Can’t go wrong with these bagels.
If you can find a time when the crowd out front is minimal (during covid), it’s the best bagels and bagel sandwiches I’ve had in LA. Makes me miss Nyc.
Dope bagels without hipster price!!! Can t go wrong!!!
My only go-to for bagels. Nowhere else comes close
Order took 40 minutes for 3 bagel sandwiches (originally estimated to take 20) and when we checked our to-go bag later we realized they didnt give us one of the sandwiches. Definitely disappointed: it was expensive, it took forever, and we were missing food.
Outrageously bad customer service. Rude staff. Pre-ordered online and breakfast sandwich was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes but was not ready for an hour and then when I opened it, it wasnt even what I ordered. Absolutely not worth anyones time.
Delicious 😋
Love the workers but the bagel flavors are not the best :/ taste old
The Best bagels I ever ate.
Dont fall for the Brooklyn name. These bagels are not authentic. Better than Starbucks bagel but nothing cost to the originals
Some of the best bagel sandwiches I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back.
PERFECT bagels. I have been searching for a good bagel place and Brooklyn Bagel was perfect, best bagels I’ve had in LA. Very wide selection of bagels that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very fresh tasting and great selection of different cream cheese. The garlic bagel is amazing. Friendly customer service too. I found my bagel place!
Probably the best bagels Ive had. It was a drug experience
Bagels are very fresh, wide flavor assortment, and spread/sandwich options galore (along with build-your-own). Chill staff, highly recommended.
Best bagels in town
Iconic honestly. delicious bagels, wonderful service, easy ordering. best bagel place in LA.
Our last Bagels on our US trip before returning to Australia and I can still taste them! They could do with a bigger variety of ingredients for bagel sandwiches but those bagels were honestly the best we had...Will be a pit stop on our next trip to the US for sure!
Best bagels in LA, worth the trip!! Love getting fresh Bagels and schmear from the take out window. Usually a little bit of a line in the mornings, but worth the wait !! :-)
One of my favorite food places in LA. Typically order there at least once a week. The prices are a bit high, but they also deliver a really high consistent quality that you can taste.Godlike: LOX bagelAwesome: Cheese bagel, Cream cheese with berriesGood: Pizza bagel, Onion StixAvoid: Avocado smash
My father grew up in the area as a kid. I remember coming to the bakery the whole family. Thank you for keeping my family memories alive. Keeping the tradition going with my children as well. Much ♥️ Brooklyn Bagel Bakery.
I was a regular customer and was so disappointed when they closed. I am so happy THEY ARE BACK!!! Still the same DELICIOUS bagels, reminiscent of my NY days. The BEST in LA. If you haven’t been, you are missing out. Did I mention the light & tasty cream cheese? The friendly service? The authentic vintage vibe? Welcome back home Brooklyn Bagel!
Brooklyn bagel bakery is THE BEST. Never had a bagel so fresh and so clean. Nice staff too
This place has the best bagels Ive had in LA. I tried the egg and cheese sandwich (delicious), blueberry bagel, everything bagel, and salt poppy bagel (way too salty... enough sodium to last a lifetime). Everything was delicious aside from the salt poppy. Things were a tad pricey but you can cut down on costs by ordering bagels and putting on your own cream cheese at home. This is my go to bagel place now!
Dude, this place is really not good. I understand LA is not bagel territory, but I was at least hopeful considering the name, but honestly its not even close to worthy of the association. Definitely do not get the salt & poppy bagel, the entire thing is crusted over with table salt making it essentially inedible, and unlike the option online, there is no poppy. Luckily the bagel is also tiny so you could probably force it down if youre hungry enough. I also received a miniscule amount of the lox cream cheese, which is a little bold of them considering the additional $2.50 for the spread.Listen, Im not trying to be mean or hurt anyones feelings. I dont like it when people just leave terrible reviews of small businesses because they were upset about some minor detail. But Im honestly shocked at the quality of this bagel. Ive had plenty of mediocre to sub par bagels, which is fine, I get that were not in Jersey or NYC. Ive never been compelled to write reviews for bagels that were just forgettable, but I honestly could not finish it. Still hoping for the best for you guys, maybe just use less salt and more spread next time.
People waiting outside waiting for their food look like iguanas sunbathing in the Galapagos
THEY SERVE DAY OLD BAGELS AS FRESH. I got a dozen to go. I got some that were soft, and then I got some that were hockey pucks and so stale they were without a doubt from the previous day.Furthermore, anyone who tells you these are among the best bagels in the city, or even tries to compare them to something you get in New York, has no clue what a bagel is supposed to be.These bagels are TINY. 3oz. If they were candy bars you’d call them fun size. But at $1.50 each even when purchasing a dozen, they are among the most expensive in the city.$6.00 for what they say is 8oz of whipped cream cheese. If you buy a dozen, you’ll need 3 of these. So $18 for bagels + $6.00 for cream cheese x 3 and you are out $36 plus tax.Do yourself a favor. Skip them. There are several places serving a bagel closer to an east coaster.
We got a blueberry cream cheese, lox, and chocolate bagel w cream cheese. Every bagel had pathetic amounts of cream cheese. the lox says it comes w cream cheese but you actually have to pay extra for that. Really not a fan of places who don’t put reasonable amounts of cream cheese on the bagels.
Honestly did not what to give 3 stars. Because Ive been going here since before they closed and reopened. The bagels are the best they were big and delicious were. Still good but got smaller. As for the flavor does not stand out as before.
Really delicious Brooklyn Bagel Bakery takes it all! Lemon crunch wins second place and guava is third. The owners are sweet like their cakes, and they have such good customer service over the phone too!
I had the plain and the jalapeño and cheese. Best bagels I have had EVER! Buttery, toasty, soft, and chewy.
Ive never had a bagel directly from anywhere in Brooklyn, so I cant attest if the bagels here live up to that namesake, but I can say that theyre pretty damn tasty. The coffee and orange juice were delicious as well and the staff were friendly. The only thing keeping this place from hitting 5 stars was the wait. It was really slow despite not being busy. Since I was just vising and dont frequent this place often, it could have been a fluke.
Best bagels L.A. Been going since I was in college (80s) and it was a legend then already. Earthquake shut it for a couple of years, but a smaller version is back just next door. Incredibly fresh, light and fluffy inside and a little crispy on the outside.
This is our go-to place for bagels. The variety and specialty bagels are excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the service is good. Parking is not good. I usually park on the concrete in front of the building next door. (That used to be BBB, but it was structurally unsound.) My favorite is jalapeno and cheese toasted, with lox and cream cheese. Never been to Brooklyn, but this is a real step up from the bagel chains.
It’s terrible, if you guys doing food delivery never accepted order from this place, super super long wait time 15-20 min.
Watered down drinks and bagels are not Brooklyn sized bagels. Also hot chocolate is just warm milk.
