You are greeted warmly by long time cashier Vengie and other workers near the front entrance. Had 4 house keys made at a very good price.The key lady made sure to match the blank keys carefully and told me to return with the receipt but, no need as they turned so smoothly first try.I also found a hard to find sprinkler part .Ganahl is a nice place to just look around with very helpful and knowledgeable staff..

A good lumber store. My dad goes there often to buy wood and other supplies for his projects. For my Eagle Project, they offered to cover the cost for the lumber which was a very generous offer. They have pretty much everything you need there, plus the staff is willing to help.

They werent all that friendly with me, I assume it was because I wasnt buying in mass quantity. One guy who was working in the fancy wood section was nice though. Outside however, they were not so friendly at the cutting area. Just one guy really, but I ended up not buying my wood and probably wont buy any there again. Plus side, it was the only store I could find a simple 1/4 inch spade bit that was sold by itself. Will come back for those, but not wood.

Selection and quality of lumber is much better than the big 2 diy stores

I love this place! Its smaller than Home Depot and Lowes, but for that reason their customer service is far more superior. Theyve got everything the big hardware stores have except for a garden section. Im going to be moving out of the area soon and this will be one of the stores I miss the most!

Wow havent been here until yesterday since 2013. Theyve added a lot of things and modernized I see. Im thinking of all the lumber I saw at Port of Long Beach or LA at the dock and know that all the lumber yards could sure use all they can get for the housing explosion

Been coming to Ganahl lumber here in Los Al since the 70s. Great quality and selection of the best lumber around. They have a great selection of hardware and what theu carry is nothing but the best. Might be a little more pricey then home depot or lows, but you get what you pay for here.

Definitely the place for that thing you just can’t find anywhere else

I went to Ganahl to purchase a french door for my home. I walked around the door/window area & no one approach me. All of the sales people were sitting at their desks talking among themselves. I finally ask a salesperson only get told to go the different websites of the manufacturers. Then, he walked me over to look at one door and wasnt interest in helping me out. The next week, my husband & I went in together. We walked up and down the rows of doors/windows in front of all the salespeople. No one came out to help us. They were talking among themselves, you can hear the laughter and stories so we knew that they were not talking to other customers. No one had anyone sitting at their desks doing business with them. We were ready to buy a French door at that time. So, we left and is taking our business somewhere else.

Great service today with paint. I needed to cover dark green walls. The specialist recommended a high- hide primer for this purpose and colored it to match my new paint to reduce the number of coats Ill need to paint.

The best place to find almost any type of wood to complete any job. Very helpful staff. Without asking they provided me with a mask instead of telling me to leave. I really appreciate that. They also keep records of each stores inventory and let you know where to go to get what you need. Great service

Its a nice store but when trying to get some help to order some wood, the man behind the counter was in a rush. He was not helpful at all and seemed as if I was taking up his time. Ill be happy when the Torrance store opens I know the people over there will be helpful.

While their selection of quality products is extensive they are grossly inept when it comes to ensuring those same products make it to their customers. I have been waiting for a simple door for three months. Their response is to simply call the vendor and ask for an update. Their has been zero active intervention by anyone at the store, just a lot of apologies. Apparently management either have no contacts or no interest in helping

Load up lumber yourself. These people here have had me waiting here for at least an hour gathering 2x4, 2x6..multiple times already. Ive been to several gnahl lumber yards and this one is absolutely the worst in terms of getting in and getting out. Other than that they are fully stocked, clean and are friendly for the most part.

I guess a woman isnt supposed to do repairs. I went in looking for a creative solution to fix a broken gate latch. All I got was why none of my ideas would work and there was no way to fix it. I do repairs around my house. I am now going to Home Depot where they dont hover and tell you that you dont know what you are talking about

I hate to compare places but its the only way for people to understand. So with that said, it is a great alternative from Home Depot and Lowes.

Worst experience of my life. no one can help you, thay just watch you walk around like a lost puppy dog. when I finily asked for help, the lady in the front sent me to the guy in the back who sent me to someone else, who then sent me back to the first lady. waste of my time, just stick with the home depot or lows.

I dont have an issue for paying a little more for quality materials, top named brands, and an intelligent, construction background, work force on the floor. I find 90% of what I need for my business (flooring) especially when it comes to substrates and wall base mouldings. My favorite hardware store.Take it from me. Better quality materials than home improvement stores. If you know what youre doing, you go here, if you think you know what youre doing, hire someone who will go here. This is not a hardware store like home depot, its a lumber yard that sells contractor grade equipment.

Bought a fat stack of cedar here and the salesman, Aaron Richardson, was the best help in the yard.Also, theyve got a huge range of Makita power tools, Channellock gadgets, and maybe the best galvanized fastener aisle Ive ever seen. Also picked up a sack of nylon nuts.

They are still under construction remodel but this is by far my favorite place to go prices are very comparable sometimes even cheaper than Home Depot. And almost always much better quality

When it comes to lumber this place has it all! You dont have to pick through a bunch of garbage to find what you need. Theyre a little on the higher side butt its well worth the price for the convenience. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

Between getting overcharged for basically everything, waiting at least over 30 minutes for materials to be pulled, and having a very small selection compared to the Torrance or Costa Mesa locations. It’s really a shame that this location is the closest to my house. Currently waiting for my order to be pulled and it’s been 12 minutes shy of an hour of waiting with my order still at will call. I would have pulled the materials myself if it was somewhere I could get to without a forklift. I’ve had the pleasure of coming here before they started the remodel and they’ve managed to keep me waiting long enough to tell myself not to come back. Best advice to anyone wether it’s buying 1 small thing or a whole house worth of materials, if you are going to spend ganahl money, go to Torrance.

Ganahl is a higher end Lowes/ home depot. Great place to buy wood or specialty tools. The employees are very knowledgeable and always ready to answer questions. When im starting a project that will show case wood I would start at Ganahl

Tried to get a quote for a molding. Response time was greater than 3 days. Called another place (Lindsay Lumber in Downey) for the same special order. Got the quote within 10 minutes. Ganahl says theyll return calls but they dont. Drop in on them and youll see the staff just chatting it up, so its not like theyre too busy to help. Disappointed, will not recommend.
