Gold Rush Mercantile and Trading Co on Gilmer Rd in Longview are the most knowledge people in the industry. The time they take to educate new and frequent buyers is very appreciated. Their knowledge of economics and futures are one of their best attributes, along with kindness.

If I could give negative 10 I would. I took my late husbands masonic family ring to get appraised and the guy told me it was fake! He said the 1.5 karat diamond wasnt real and the ring was maybe worth $200-300. Thankfully my children told me to get another opinion so I did. The diamond IS REAL and worth over 10k. Hes a crook!!

Sold 20oz of silver here and got a good price on it 50 cents under spot. He even used the current spot price instead of whatever the low of the day/week was like some of my less than favorite dealers have done. I keep up with prices on metals every day, so It is nice to know this place wouldn’t try to take advantage of people who don’t follow the market like I do,

If youre not going to be open the times you say you are, dont advertise or post that you will be open. I stopped by around 1:20 on 8/10. The door was locked. Another person arrived at the door the same time. As we were leaving, another person came. I went back to my vehicle and saw someone go to the door, inside. I thought they had unlocked it. I go back to the door and its still locked. As we were leaving, 2 more people went to the locked door. I had gone there on a Saturday weeks ago & there was a sign on the locked door. I came from Mt. Pleasant.

Their has been some confusion as whether Gold Rush Mercantile and Trading Co are affiliated with Gold Rush Pawn Shop on McCann Rd. They ARE NOT the same people. Unfortunately, Gold Rush Pawn, used our name to start his business here in our community. They owners of Gold Rush Mercantile and Trading Company have been their working from the beginning in 2009. They are always their to help, unless, they are on vacation or at a grands birthday party.

Great place!! Some of the nicest people around. They would do anything for anyone. I went into Gold Rush in Longview and was having some life troubles. The people working there and the owners asked if we could all pray right there for me, and so we did. The person that wrote a review saying they are mean people obviously has never been to Gold Rush, because they are far from mean.They were so nice about helping me with my gold and silver jewelry and yes they did all the testing right in front of me.I would highly recommend Gold Rush!!

I went to Gold Rush to get an estimate of the value of two 22k gold bangles I bought long ago in the Middle East. The manager/owner was rude and practically snatched the bangles out of my hand, gave them to an employee then body-blocked me from following that employee as he walked away with my very valuable - about $5,000 - property. I pushed past the manager/owner and tried to get the employee to tell me where he was taking my property. He would not respond. I started getting angry at this point and made quite the fuss until the employee handed my property back to me. It turns out he was going to take my property to a back room and test the amount of gold in the jewelry. Any and every reputable buyer of gold and silver will test your jewelry in front of you, explaining the steps as they go through the process. Anyway, I started walking to the door to leave when the manager/owner came up behind me, put his hand in the middle of my back and pushed me toward the exit. As I exited, he slammed the door against my back, knocking me down. I later managed a gold buying business in Longview and discovered Gold Rush treats most customers with a very heavy and rude hand and they are the worst place to go to get the best value for your property. I wanted to file assault charges against the manager/owner, but there were no witnesses.

Im new to Longview, and visited Gold Rush for the first time last weekend. The gentleman helping me was welcoming, and very knowledgeable. From the research Ive done on what I was buying, the prices are fair.I had a positive experience, and plan on visiting again soon!
