We had a great experience! They treated us the same as anyone buying a huge amount of stone and were so helpful. When our trailer tire needed air after it got loaded and they offered air without hesitation and got us on our way. Tons of staff to help, we never waited or had to look around confused. I have always had great service here! Today was above and beyond. I stopped after loading to pay. After paying my truck wouldnt start. It was close to closing time, I saw a driver coming back asked if they happened to have a jump box or cables. He jumped right out and into his escalade and gave me a jump and had me back on my way. I have made several purchases from Colorado Materials now in a variety materials with a variety of delivery methods (traditional dump truck, split dump truck, and a flat bed of boulders with a skid steer) and interacted with several office staff members and every employee has been pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. They are a great company to interact with and I will be making additional purchases in the future.Originally, they didnt respond to my sales inquries through the email address listed on their website (it seems like there was a temporary glitch). But a review on Google encouraged them to reach out.Once in contact we were able to discuss in detail my goals and they were very helpful in talking through some options for my project. I look forward to working with them for my material needs.

Walk in customer to order 9 cubic yards of planter mix dirt for upcoming project. When giving total, we had CASH IN HAND. We were abruptly told they do not take cash up front, and when driver delivered we would then pay the driver. We would either have to give CC # or the cash to the driver, however, if paying in cash to the driver, he may not have change available.The supervisor made it sound as though it was an inconvenience on his part to make a cash sale, giving us a lot of attitude, even stating we will take cash only this one time. After all said and done, did not get a receipt and not even a thank you .It is not my policy to give my CC # to a truck driver. I have worked in construction for years, and have never paid a truck driver for delivery of material. It is either an invoice or we have prepaid.This by far was the worst customer service we have ever had, and making us feel as though we were inconveniencing them.Will not be ordering anything from here ever again. We will be going to Berthoud or Louisville for materials from now on.

Weve ordered over 19 tons of rock from this place for three yard projects. Theyre always helpful, the prices are reasonable, and the delivery guys do a great job.

Colorado Materials is an adult play land with a massive selection of flagstone, moss rock, boulders, wall rock, gravel, beach pebbles, mulch, soil and compost etc. The employees are super friendly and helpful every time ive been there. You can let all the generic big box stores burn but keep your hands off Colorado Materials, this place is amazing.

For me, it is amature hour getting bulk materials. It is like going into a toy store and the toy does not have instructions. Thar is where the staff is extremely helpful and prepared.

Everyone Ive interacted with at CO Materials (which is quite a few at this point!)is great and all take the time to help me come up with solutions to my various landscape projects. Even more important is that they step up and rectify any issues that may arise. Fernandos willingness to help resolve an issue I had has made me a very loyal customer since I think that says a lot about a company.Ive found the selection to be great - from various types of mulches, crusher fines, edging, boulders, pavers, stripstone, etc. Greater variety than the other main company in Longmont and competitive cost (delivery is less expensive as well). The only thing Ive found elsewhere that I like better is a specific shade of grey in crusher fines/breeze. If they start carrying that one color, Ill never need to go anywhere else again!

They don’t bother marking when they are out of materials like river rock. Even asked about this upon arrival and mentioned wanting a boulder. Spent over 2 hours, marked boulders and went to set up delivery (which is $135 per hour) and then told they don’t actually have any of the rock we came for. Waste of time. If you go- make sure you call and ask if they have and how much materials they have (especially before driving an hour to get there) Don’t waste gas or time otherwise

Very disappointed in the lack of service provided by Colorado Materials. Ordered a few tons of landscape rock last Tuesday for delivery. They indicated that the first they could schedule me was today (a week later) - no problem its Spring, and they are busy. They gave me a drop off window of 8am to 11am...just received a call (10:30am) indicating they dont have any of the rock I ordered for delivery by 11am. When asked about when they might have more in stock - received an estimate of a couple weeks, maybe...no apology, no offer to attempt to make it right...just a have a great day...

Service was friendly and efficient. Prices seemed good as the total cost of my small landscape project came in WAY under what the designer had budgeted. I needed 1 ton of cobble, 3 tons of decorative rock and some mulch. They happily filled my pickup bed 1 ton at a time (nearly exact - impressive work by the loader drivers). 5 trips total, in-and-out in under 10 minutes each time.Ill definitely be using Colorado Materials for any future landscape projects.

Been going there for years.

We have used Colorado Materials (CM) about 8-10x over the years. CM always delivers within the window, has courteous drivers, and takes a range of payments. The last time they delivered they REALLY delivered. Let me explain. We are getting ready to sell our house. The mulch was the finishing touch. CM was booked solid for the weekend. I explained our situation complete with upcoming travel, selling our house, long time customer, etc. CM said they would deliver the load for an extra $500... I said ok! CM was joking and delivered for the original price within an hour!!! Totally helped us out! Many thanks!!

Almost impossible to get any work done due to the fact that there winter and Spring hours are limited on weekends. Hard for a guy to get anything done after working 40 hrs and is commuting back into town right at the time they close each day. Seem like intelligent business owners so Im not sure why theyre keeping such horrible hours, especially for people trying to get landscaping projects done on the weekends.

Great selection, they took time with my wife and I even though our project was smaller than most. We are extremely happy with delivery but estimates of the amount of materials were quiet a bit off. We were told that a half ton would easily do our small 30x2 wall, thankfully we went with our gut and did a full ton because we used every single piece of stone but have nearly 3/4 of a ton of 3/4 fill gravel left over.Overall, yes I would use them again the delivery was prompt and easy to deal with and the product is quality.

We did a lot of shopping around for landscaping materials and supplies and none of the companies we researched had the service we got from Colorado Materials. First off, they do not assume you understand all the lingo and for two, they have price lists that are easy to read.The young man who helped us was great, despite getting ready to eat lunch, he took time showing us around and answering all our questions. We had mulch delivered and the guy who came and dumped it was great. He was very personable. We are going to continue to use Co Materials for our upcoming landscaping needs, they have a great selection of anything youd possibly need or want.

This is quite a place! Had my first experience with Colorado Materials this weekend and it was quite positive. Great customer service (in the office and on the lot), a wide selection of beautifully organized products and very competitive prices.So why the 3-star review?Their 15% restocking fee!I can completely understand charging a restocking fee for bulk items sold by the pound that require heavy equipment to put the materials back in the bins, however, I was returning FIVE pieces of Fossil Flagstone small enough for me to put in my car, The flagstone was sold by the each, not pound. I had to drive my car back to where the stone is kept and virtually draw a picture for the worker to get him to remove the five pieces (about 12x12) from my car; I could have done it myself more quickly. For this service, I was charged $14.25 on a $95.00 sale. It was a very disappointing end to what had, up to that point, been a very positive experience. I would suggest that Colorado Materials entertain the idea of a tiered return policy based on the materials coming back. The current policy alone will make me think twice about returning.

Worst customer service I have ever seen! First, we went in on a Saturday to order stacked stone veneer for our fire pit and we were told we would have to come back during the week because no one could help us. Really? When I did go back I told them my dimensions and ordered the stone. It arrived in 3 business days. When I took it home and began to lay it out I immediately noticed I didn’t have enough straight panels. I did have the correct number of corner pieces. I called right away to order another box of straight panels. They took my credit card number and said they would order it immediately. I called three days later to see if my order was available for pickup, and they said it did not get ordered. I called again on Monday, and it still hadn’t been ordered. I called again on Thursday to see if my order was in and they said it was back-ordered. Not one time did they call me to let me know the status. When I asked when it would be in they said three to four weeks, which I told them wouldn’t work as I was hosting a wedding reception in 2 ½ weeks. They then said they could expedite the shipping for $175. By this time I was furious. I explained that the reason I was having to reorder in the first place was that they miscalculated the total rock I would need. I then asked to speak to a manager. He had the gall to say there were three witnesses that heard me say I was building a two-sided fireplace. I was appalled, as I would never had said that! Funny how I had enough corner pieces for FOUR corners. I contacted the stone company directly and had the stone shipped to me for $40.00. I will gladly order material from either Midwest Materials or Pioneer Sand from now on. Avoid this establishment!

Great delivery drivers! I recently had two large orders of rock delivered and both times the drivers were prompt and very courteous. Sometimes its the people out in the field that make or break a business, and the delivery drivers here are what seals the deal for me. Great job guys.

Good selection. Terrible customer service. They treat you as if they are doing you a favor. In my case, I reserved a number of boulders, and they gave them to somebody else. When I complained, they pretended that it was not their fault. Later, they acknowledged their incompetence, but with an arrogance that belied the supposed apology. Of course, I ended up going somewhere else where, surprise of surprises, I was treated as a paying customer.

Great selection, prices and most of all integrity. Had a small mix up on a delivery, they went above and beyond to make things right. I greatly appreciate that. You are my first and only choice for my landscaping needs.THANK YOU!

Great place has most everything people are great

First Time I used Colorado Materials, I went to there lot to order a load of rocks delivered to a house Im building. I told them to let me know if there would be any issues the day before as there is no cell reception. The day of myself and a few friends are waiting but they are not there. I drive to a place with cell reception and they have called saying they cant read there own hand-writing and dont know what to deliver, I had to correct them. They offered no discount for this issue or for being 6 hours late,I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I ordered another load delivered. I told them what happened the first time and told them to please call me a day in advance if there was an issue. The day of they do not show up. I drive to a place I have cell phone reception. I had one phone message saying they were on there way. That message was from hours ago. I called them and they said when they went to go load up they found they had no gravel (apparently inventory is not important to them) They had rescheduled me for wed without talking to me or calling me (they said they did but I had not messages from them) They said they would bring up another kind of rock and acted like they were doing me a favor for not charging me more for another kind of rock.Overall they were horrible to work with and provided some of the worst customer service I have seen in a long, long time, if ever.

We bought some black lava rock along with song Gold compost soil and had it delivered. They were both great products at a good price, they offered a military discount (thank you!), and the delivery was on-time and as expected. Will definitely buy from them again.

Husband was killed by a landscape truck in front of this company. Never heard a thing from the owners. Very dangerous place and owners dont care.

I finally got some help with the yard work. Rented a dump truck and a skidsteer for 24 hours starting on Saturday. This place DECIDED to close their doors and lock up 15 minutes early, on a Saturday at 3:45, refusing to let me grab my one last load. Now I have to spend 300$ once again to finish the job on Monday because they are closed Sunday. TERRIBLE customer service. Youd think this place wouldnt be the one to purposefully make your job even more difficult.

I spent $6000 here, wouldnt let me return $200 worth of left over material because I lost the receipt. Guy was really rude (Stephan I think). He said it would take too long to look up the receipt.

Hubby and I love how close they are, and go frequently for fill dirt, really nice garden soil, mulch, and gravel! Wayyyyy better prices than any of the box stores, and far more knowledgeable staff! Their service and delivery was fine, but the soil I got for my raised beds (their planters mix) is having a lot of trouble with compaction. There is zero foot traffic on my beds, so I believe their planters mix, although marketed as the soil for raised beds, is not the ideal mix. Not sure if their mix was off or what, but it is acting like topsoil that does not have enough organics in it.

It is impossible to get service in this place! Some burly rude lady seemed to grunt at customers and not want to help. My husband and I went in there to buy materials for our front and backyard landscape. The lady behind the counter acted like she was taking orders at a truck stop grunting and acting all disrespectful like she was doing us a big favor. After having her treat us like we were clueless idiots we finally went back to the big box stores. We totally wanted to support a local Longmont business and buy in bulk. Im sad to see that we werent the only customers that were put off by them.

I went here for the first time this past Saturday and they were great. They helped me figure the right amount of garden soil, offered suggestions on the right products and were very informative about new products and services.

Ive used Colorado Materials for years, for everything from road base, to top soil, to crushed granite. The last three orders have been terrible in regards of customer service. Snippy sales people, rude delivery drivers, missed deliveries... you name it. Today I tried to order compost, with my credit card in hand, but was dissuaded by the rude, clueless voice on the other side of the line, who kept randomly putting me on hold mid-conversation, and wanted to charge $65 for a 10-minute pickup truck delivery of compost. Looking at past receipts, this was only $30 last year. No thanks!

These folks have saved me a ton of money. If they werent around, I would have to buy from Home Depot at at least twice the cost. They have always treated me well. If you are not sure about something, stop by the office and ask, they will explain the different products to you.
