Oct. 13, 2021Well, tonight about 8:05 pm, my husband and I went to have dinner at Wood and Salt on Atlantic in Bixby Knolls.Nice evening. We live in Bixby Knolls just about a block away from Wood and Salt and Stateside Craft, a beer store which opened NOT longer than five years ago, I think.I just walked to Atlantic from my house!I noticed the Stateside Craft and thought I’d look and check out the ice cream they sell. I could see it from the outside!The display case is close to the front door!And the register is at the deep end of the store.I could see the different ice cream in individual pints. It made me salivate and want ice cream tonight.I opened the front door but before I could look at the ice cream display, there was this loud voice in the deep end of the store yelled at me:“Do you have a mask!”This was the first statement I got!I had a mask but I just got out of the Wood and Salt restaurant near the Stateside Craft.I took my mask off my face.You know I am a business owner too.There was NO ONE at this store except the sales person or the owner may be and just me!And I hardly stepped inside!!!I have seen this store from the outside.It was NOT always busy.I thought I’d give it some business?Instead I got yelled at !“Do you have a mask?” a voice from the deep end of the store yelled at me!This store was really designed POORLY!!!From the outside, it never looked inviting!Would you not say first, “May I help you?”Then, ask to please wear a mask and if this customer happened to not haveone, provide one so she can purchase anything from the store. I’d ask my customer if she or he had been to my store?As an owner of a small business also, that is how I would greet a prospective customer.I’ll be friendlier!After all, I want more business, right? At 8 pm!I did not intend to go far inside because if I don’t see the right kind of ice cream, I’m NoT buying!Instead I got yelled at!So I replied in a yell as well!I yelled:“Yes, I do!”So, I left the beer craft store immediately without buying anything!This is not how I wouldgreet and meet a prospective customer!

Stars dont go to 100, sadly, for this place! Owner, Patrick, is very knowledgeable. He listens to what you like and is willing to spend time finding you the beer/cider/wine/snack you want, even if you didnt know that was what you wanted. Amazing selection and verity. He finds hidden gems that will knock your socks off. Ive never had a beer from his place I havent liked. And he will, if he knows your tastes, guide you away from bad choices rather than just go for the sale. If you want personal, knowledgeable, and curated service you could not find a better place than Stateside Craft! (And he sings and has an amazing vinal collection that he plays in the store). Seriously, follow him on Instagram! You get songs and peeks at the new stuff coming into the store.

A straight up hidden gem 💎 so glad I stumbled open this store! I will definitely be back. Nice selection of craft beer and different hot sauces.

Dont let the small size fool you. There is a nice selection of beer, wine, cider, mead, and ice cream in this place. Patricks knowledge of his stock is incredible. If you are having a hard time choosing what to purchase just let him know. Hell ask a few questions and know exactly what youll enjoy. Pre-pandemic it was always nice to come in and enjoy a flight or two of his hand picked beers and have a chat with the locals in the neighborhood. Youll pay a little more than the big chain beer stores. But at least you know who youre helping out and not handing your money over to a corporate overlord.

Stumbled on this place with a friend the other night, and glad I did! The staff are friendly, the proprietor Patrick is very passionate about his craft (excuse the pun), and the clientele are friendly. You can grab a bottle or can or beer from the fridges and sit down at the drinking area near the back of the store. They also have snacks you can buy there if you want something with your drink. You can even bring in outside food and ask Patrick what beer (or wine from their limited selection) would pair well. Dont miss out on a chance to try this place!

Weve been going to Stateside for a little more than 4 years now and Patrick (the owner) is the best and so knowledgeable about beers. He always has a fantastic selection. We love his taster flights. Its always so welcoming going into the store!

My favorite place in Long Beach

Love this place. You can come in, have a good beer and chill. Tastings on tap, or pick a bottle to taste in store. Im very glad to have Patrick (owner) to help when you need to describe something you want and he pairs it to your preference/taste. Theres even ice cream from LB Creamery, coffee beans, cheeses, crackers and other delightful snacks that go well with various beers. First Fridays are definitely popular time to visit but best to snag an afternoon drink when not as crowded. Fun for groups of 5 or less.

Love this place! Great selection and wonderful staff. Their inventory is fresh and high quality. The local goodies make delicious snacks and thoughtful gifts. Knowledgeable employees paired with top of the line customer service make it easy for me to recommend Stateside! CHEERS!

Love the staff. There a husband and wife duo . Who are super cool and love what they do. I always be to shop and look though their ever changing selection of local beers and brewing supplies . Plus they host super fun brewery events and have tastings . Love this place 😍

Excellent selection of Craft Beers.They have a nice tasting area set up where you can taste bottles purchased or do a flight of rotating beers that they have on tap.Very knowledgeable staff.

The dude knows his beers. Some options are super pricy and some are good deals. If you want fancy craft brews the owner seems to know all the breweries personally and will explain in great detail each one he thinks youd like.

I love this place. Small and cozy. Plus make sure you come in and have time to talk to the staff. I think his name is Rob, he has great recommendations on beers, pairing and can give you history about some of the beers and how they are made.

Amazing beer and really good vegetarian pizza that would have you not even thinking its meatless when you eat it. Im not a vegetarian... not thay theres anything wrong with that. Thats how good the pizza it is at Stateside Crafts. Grab some bread before you leave too. You wont regret it. Oh, and by the way, to the paying customers: leave an olive loaf for me sometimes you jackals!

Great bottle shop that has a tasting room to showcase the bottles you can buy. Patrick has great knowledge in the craft beer world and can direct you towards whatever you are looking for.

Fun spot to pick up a few beers (and some Honeymoon ice cream). Parking can be an issue here, and also they are rather pricey, so just note that!
