Went here for a Smog check. Very nice people and crew. Honored mention of an online coupon.Attending lady checked catalytic converter on my car since car was sitting home for almost a year. Said i need to drive for 10 miles. I did, came back and was out in 15 minutes.They had a food truck on the property. Didnt try food but spent time out on a park bench which was nice to keep social distance. Is located in beautiful downtown Livermore.

Competent. Efficient. Reliable. Honest. Good price. Friendly.Main thing is I had a good experience here, I didn’t feel talked down to though I don’t know much about car mechanics. And I didn’t feel like they were trying to swindle me. They fixed the issue. They were cost conscious, they laid out all the possibility of what was wrong with the car and gave me clear steps to take, then they identified areas where it may get more expensive if choice one didn’t work. Very transparent. They were respectful, they made me feel comfortable asking all kinds of questions and then answering them patiently.It’s a good place. I’m here to stay.

Quick and easy service. I guess it costs 80$ for a smog report which takes 10 minutes to do. That’s fine.Anyways, the 3 stars is for the super strange interaction with the employee who “inspected” the car. It would be helpful to some acknowledgment that your customers exist.In short, you’ll get your smog report done, you’ll pass, but don’t be expected to treated as anything other than a credit card swipe.

Installed unneeded parts and broke others while installing the new. Never actually fixed problem.

4.5 stars a little pricey but what isnt these days. Excellent results.

They were terrific! I went there for a smog certificate. My truck had set for about a year and had a dead battery, the sensor would not register. They told me to drive 30-40 miles under 65 mph. I drove around and when I go back a technician met me at my truck tested to make sure it reset. They took it right in for a successful smog test, less than 30 minutes. They were also able to do my DMV registration and I got my tags!!! What a time saver! Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. I highly recommend them!!!

Charged for a failed smog inspection for a tampered part. Funny part is Ive taken it to this same EXACT place before in 2016 and it passed. Passed at another place in 2018. Nothing on the car has changed since 2005. Good thing they charge $70 for nothing. Best part is they want to charge $30 for a retest, no thanks Ill take it to a place that isnt completely incompetent. Manager was EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Waste of time, definitely dont go hereYour reply does not address the core concern of the fact that YOUR shop passed my vehicle in 2016 and another local shop in 2018. If you were doing your job it should have failed the other two times as well including the first smog test at your place. Doing your job is not interrupting customers, overcharging them, and avoiding questions with generic responses

I Came here after my brakes failed! Car was diagnosed and repaired in under a day!! They worked with my warranty company for a quick and painless replacement of my brake Master Cylinder, and had my car tested and ready before I got off work the next day. Exceptional service from a local family business, I cant thank them enough. Will be returning next week for new tires!! ❤️

Disappointed. I have a cool air intake for which I lost the EO sticker, and I told them. I gave them the EO number and they said this should be ok. 20 mins later they come out and say you have failed the smog because you dont have the EO sticker and charge me for the service. They could have told me from the beginning when I brought it up.

This place is expensive!...unless you mention the online coupon. I used the SMOG coupon when I visited the center before and simply forgot about it this time. When they handed me a bill for $78, I questioned the price. I mentioned their prices must have gone up and that it was nowhere near $78 before. With no concern for helping me understand the difference in price this time, the worker offered no real explanation. When I got in my car, I remembered the coupon online. So I went back inside and asked, If I had mentioned this coupon, would the price have been $29.95? With no care or concern, he said, Yes, you should have mentioned it before. What amazing customer care! Hes right! I should have mentioned it. My fault! Learned my lesson! One employee actually stated, Were no different than a pizza parlor!BEFORE YOU use their services, ask yourself, Do I really want someone to service my car that only seems interested in money and not quality customer care? At this place, If you snooze, you loose! I cannot attest to their expertise in car care...only SMOG testing. But I can attest to their lack of expertise in customer care. Most people are not car experts so we TRUST car care centers like this to look out for us when it comes to maintaining our cars. Unfortunately, my experience tells me this place seems to be more concerned about money than customer care. They may have my money this time, but with such poor attitudes and customer care, they wont have it again. Think twice!

Excellent service. Trustworthy and honest. Clean shop and good habits when working on vehicles. Yes, theyre more expensive than most other shops, but when you want quality, you have to pay for it.

Just had to comment on the reviews presented by Rick Sanchez and Andrew Moore----You should review your comments and possibly look for some pilot error when you wrote your opinion---I (and a number of my relatives and friends) have never had any reason but to be very appreciative of Tri-Valley and their entire staff----whatever the problem we presented it was resolved quickly (absolutely no smoke, no mirrors) just straight forward conduct and performance from the front desk until our cars were returned in far better shape then we brought to this group. We wont use any other service---these folks are A1---Bob Woods

Called on a Friday evening at closing. Confirmed opening time and was told I should be able to get right in. After reading reviews, I knew to mention coupon when I showed up at 8 am Saturday. The gentlemen remembered my call from the night before. We discussed what might cause the vehicle to fail the inspection of which none applied. After he got started he showed me an item that might impact my next inspection but was not a failure at this time. The coupon price was honored and I was out the door in 15 mins. Courteous and professional.

Be warned. No consideration for customer. Out to make a quick dollar. The quality of their work may be fine, but full disclosure up front does not appear to be their policy.

Started off pleasant enough. Paid my smog check fee just to be told seconds later that my recent battery issue caused me to fail and I needed to drive around for a while then come back to recheck and pay the full amount again. Could have asked a couple of basic courtesy questions prior to taking my money. They dont even offer a discounted re-check. Smug attitude. Its a pity to be petty. Dont blame the State for this unhappy customer.

Called Chris yesterday with a mechanical nighhtmare. Truck was cutting off at different interval. His crew got it back up and running same day for a fair price.

Ive been going for 7 years here. Today they didnt tell me I needed a hose before I slogged so they failed me visually without discussing prior to hooking the truck up and then charged me twice for the smog. Never will I go back there. They obviously wanted money today.

Too expensive. Typical service without a smile. 90 bucks for test, 30 for retest. Cant even tell you what to do if you fail.
