I just want to thank you guys for re-opening! Today I went back for the first time since I was a kid my stepdad who was like my second father passed away about 12 years ago and we haven’t been back cents and just the taste of the ice cream brought back so many memories wonderful memories of him so thank you guys for re-opening it’s going to mean a lot to me and my family! Absolutely the best ice cream in town

I was driving through Lincoln from out of town and spent the day in 90 degree heat needing to cool off. We drove past C&L Dairy Sweet and decided to stop to grab some ice cream. I tried the tornado tail and my friends got a strawberry malt and rootbeer float. We all loved what we had and the service was just as good! Will definitely stop back for ice cream the next time I’m in town! Thanks C&L!

Growing up in North Lincoln, this place always felt right. We will literally drive all the way across town near Pioneers park just to get ice cream here. Even though DQ is just right down the street from us. Totally worth it. Its definitely one of those childhood retro feel good original places to visit. Sadly the old shop isnt there due to a tornado a couple years ago, but thankfully the new trailer makes it even more magical. If you are looking for a friendly family owned ice cream stop, this is the place. Next time you go there, tell them Nick Downs sent ya. They probably dont know me by name but they will appreciate the time you spent with them.

My wife and I tried out the new C&L Dairy sweet the chocolate ice cream was really good but we were a little disappointed with the size of our ice cream cones we purchased medium sized cones that were the size of smalls at the other places that we go to in Lincoln and the cost is pretty much the same.

Wonderful! Little places like this are truly part of what defines many small towns that dot the map of the US. It is so refreshing to see a place like this on the edge of Lincoln. I cannot wait to go back and get a lemon cone as many of the other reviewers suggest. I heard the lady at the window tell a gentleman that she loves to see repeat customers. She genuinely thanked him for his continued business. Seeing that kind of customer appreciation is so refreshing and worth the stop. This will be a stop for us as long as it remains. The setting was just perfect - kids laughing, a puppy getting the remainder of a cone, and the continuous purr of the shake blender. Made me feel like a kid!

Looking forward to returning with my relatives. The place has a great atmosphere.

YUMMY!!!I have been a loyal customer, ever since the place opened when I was kid about 30 years ago. Friendly service, owner is always great to kids. The treats are great, and I think I have tried just about every combo of shake, freeze, sundae, etc. I think I would enjoy. Great prices, and by far the best night is Lemon custard soft serve nights (Tues & Wed).Love the first day it is opened back up every spring, and sad when it shuts down for winter in the fall.

Amazing place to go to in the summer. I used to live in the neighborhood and would go there. Everyone I know (me included) wants them to rebuild- we already miss it! Great food, but the ice cream is the best.

Great little dairy freeze. Id recommend going on lemon Tuesday. The lines can be long, but for good reason. The lemon soft serve with a cherry dip is my personal favorite. This place is real charming and kind of a throw back.

Its a quaint mom-and-pop type of icecream shop. My family has been going to there for 20 some years now I personally think theyre awesome and have great ice cream. not to mention they are just around the corner from Pioneers Park if you wanted to make a picnic and a day of it

Great little spot to hit after a visit to Pioneers Park, but watch out if you go on a Tuesday or Wednesday during peak hours! Their lemon soft serve maybe delicious, but when it gets busy and the machine cant keep up with demand you get a melty disgusting mess of a cone. It cant freeze it fast enough. I feel their lemon cones are best dipped in cherry or chocolate and crunch. Their shakes, floats, and other offerings are great too. Cash only!

Best mom and pop ice cream shop around! Tuesday and Wednesday they have lemon ice cream which is amazing! Get it with the crunch coat! Food is also good, but we usually only get ice cream. Parking can be a pain if its busy, but totally worth it!

Best place in Lincoln to get Ice cream

This is an okay place to get ice cream. It is about average quality. The type of service you get verifies everyday. Once we went, got some shakes and they gave the child that was with me a finger puppet just for fun, all smiles. Then another time during a very humid summer day my husband was riding his bike and had forgotten his water. He asked for some water and was told he had to pay ten cents. He explained he did not have any money, he had already rode a long ways, and even asked to just use the hose but was turned down. He was told they could not make money by giving away water.

The people are friendly, the place is set in a peaceful part of town, a few blocks from pioneers park. The ice cream is excellent and on Tuesday and Wednesday they replace the chocolate ice with lemon, so you can do lemon and vanilla twist cones.

I dont know that theres anything special about the ice cream at C&L (unless you go on lemon nights!) But getting ice cream there and sitting outside and eating it is part of living in Lincoln, Nebraska in the summertime. Its just not summer unless you do it a few times.

5 stars for the experience. Typical if slightly better than average soft serve, but still one of our favorite ice cream stops- especially with the kids.

We used or live by here. We would stop after playing at Pioneers Park. The lemon ice cream on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is to die for. We still drive across town to visit once in awhile!

A nice little place to get ice cream during the summer, good setting, and they have the best lemon cones on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! My only complaint with them is they dont accept cards, but going somewhere to get cash is a small price to pay for their delicious ice cream

Love finding these places. Located in a beautiful spot with large trees providing shade, it was the perfect spot to get out of the heat and enjoy a frosty treat.

Awful. lets start with the apperance, I can describe it in one word FLIES. Flies everywhere, seriously just hang a ziplock bag of water. Ok, story time. This 15-16 year old comes to the window and asks for our order, so we tell her. 20 minutes go by and we dont have our food, this other girl comes yo the window and asks us What are you waiting for? My dad says Our food she said we didnt order anything. At that point we found out the 15-16 year old didnt turn in our order. We wait another 10-15 minutes and finally get our food. My burger was the same as a McDonalds and my dads was a bbq sandwich, they fealt bad and gave him 2, and he didnt even eat the 2nd because it tasted awful. Same with the potato salad. My grandpa ordered a malt but got a shake. Bottom line, do NOT go there, go to the gas station right next to it, unless youre just going to get an ice cream or something. Worst restraunt ever.

This is the best place to get a cool treat on a hot night.
