Tuffey was the first auto place we tried going to after we moved here, and now we won’t go anywhere else! Our experiences with them have always been exceptional! The employees are always very accommodating and kind, and their prices are affordable. They don’t push any repairs or maintenance tasks on you that you don’t need, and they get the job done in a timely manner. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a new auto shop.

Took my daughters vehicle in for a diagnostic. Her battery light had come on and given her issues. They couldnt replicate the problem, or find anything that would cause the battery light to come on. They didnt want to replace anything w/o knowing what was causing the issue. Makes complete sense. They didnt even charge us for their time trying to troubleshoot the issue. Her car hasnt had an issue since. But if it happens again, Ill be happy to take it back and let them do the repair. Ive taken my vehicle for repair in the past.

I have never in my life received the quality of service that I received at this Tuffy location. While on a 2,000+ mile move from Utah to Virginia we heard a metal on metal rattling sound coming from underneath our RAV4. We were unsure if we were going to be able to find a place open as late as it was on a Saturday. Brad and his team were willing to stay open after hours to help diagnose the issue and resolve the problem.While it turned out that the noise we heard wasnt anything serious, we were put at ease because of the professional treatment we received. If you are located in the Lincoln, NE area and you need your car serviced, this is the place to go. You are doing yourself a huge disservice if you choose a different establishment. I honestly cannot say enough good things about these guys.

Had an appt at 9am for brakes/rotors, was told the techs are off at noon, so my car would be done by then. Showed up at 11:30 and they hadnt even started on it yet.They offered to give me a loaner car, which was a nice gesture, but it was absolutely disgusting on the inside. Will not be a returning customer.

The employees only put on their masks if theyre directly talking to you, otherwise they are not worn, even when other people are in the waiting area. Due to this fact, I decided to take a walk while my oil change and transmission fluid flush were being done rather than wait in the building. I was told it would take an hour to an hour and a half. After my hour and a half walk, my car was still not done. I attempted to enter the building and ask about it, but I was not acknowledged at all, nor did the man behind the desk bother to put on his mask. I then went and waited outside the building for another two hours in the cold since clearly no precautions were being taken inside. At this point, it had been three and a half hours since I dropped my car off. I finally went back inside to ask when my car would be ready, and was told they had to order the transmission fluid for my car and were waiting on it to arrive. Nobody had communicated to me that there would be a significant time delay. Had I known that my car would end up taking a total of five hours instead of the estimated one hour, I would have asked to reschedule the transmission flush for another day. I ended up missing work and had to call another family member to leave work early to come pick me up because I had been waiting outside in the cold for so long. Unfortunately, simply communicating to me this time delay would have changed this poor outcome. This situation also would have been improved if employees were actually wearing masks and I could have felt safe waiting inside.

We have been going to Tuffy’s for a long time. Very professional and helpful. Helped fix a tiller tire for us recently. I recommend them to anyone that asks.

I had such a great experience here! I am a new grad on a budget with a huge list of fixes my car would benefit from. Brad invested his time in discussing all of my options and helping me weigh out the pros and cons of fixing each. He never made me feel like an inconvenience or rushed me and explained everything in simple terms a non-car person like myself could understand. Tuffy gave me a loaner car while my car was being worked on free of charge, and the nice guy at the register (I didnt get his name :( ) gave me a $30 coupon without me asking when I came to pick my car up. Mike did an awesome job with my Subaru; he was prompt and thorough and had my car back to me within 24 hours. Car fixes suck and are expensive any way you slice it, but if you have to get work done, I would definitely recommend this place!

I called one morning about a piece of undercarriage that was hanging down. They said it was a busy day, but they would be able to fit me in. Once I got there after work they looked at my car and fixed it within 10 minutes. They ended up fixing it for free and I am so thankful! The staff was excellent, caring, and fast moving. One of the best repair shops I have ever been to, Brad was such a great help throughout the entire process. They are straight up with their prices, put out QUALITY work, and their customer service is amazing.I bought a Mercedes vehicle from Mercedes-Omaha, so I usually do my repairs there. Since the day Ive walked off the lot with the keys, Ive had numerous problems with my car. Recently, Ive had trouble with starting my car and I knew it had to be because of my battery. I called Mercedes and they left me on hold for 30+ minutes and I ended leaving a voicemail just to schedule an appointment. They have a history of doing this btw. I was fed up and found the closest place near my apartment. After a couple seconds of dialing Tuffys, I was on the phone with Brad and got my battery replaced within a couple of days. At the dealership, I probably wouldve gotten charged upwards of $800 for a battery change. At Tuffys, they charged me $360. I was shocked beyond belief.All I can say is that they go above and beyond to help their customers. Ive been to a handful of repair shops, but at Tuffys I knew I was being taken care of. Not only because of the honest pricing, but also because they really do care about their customers.Thank you to Brad and all the staff at Tuffys Repair, seriously you guys are amazing!

Tuffys has always been honest, great to work with & reasonable with their prices. They get to know you as a person and will not push repairs on you if its not in your best interest. I have been going to Tuffy for several years and their service is exceptional. I had a wonderful experience!! I went in to get my brakes checked which is something they do for free. I greatly appreciated their honesty when they informed me that my brakes are plenty good. Original post (2019): They are honest, they will not recommend any work that does not need to be done. Work is efficient and service is good. Highly recommend Tuffy Auto Service.Edit 2020: Went in to get the Power Window Control unit (Switch that you use to control the windows) changed. The price of the unit is 120, and after a youtube video found out it pops out of the door handle and was able to change it in 5 minutes. They asked for $700. unfortunately in terms of price, that is extremely overpriced.

Very impressed by the service at Tuffys. They took the time to listen to what I had to say in the diagnosis of the issues I was having with my vehicle and the troubleshooting that I had already completed which made the diagnosis of the issue so much easier. Awesome service on a Saturday. Need my tire patched and finally made it to Tuffy after a stop at the dealership and another tire shop in the area. I was very pleased with the quality of service. I took my car to get my tire patched, everyone was booked up and couldnt get to me for two days. The owner popped out and said he could take care of it and got my car right in and got it patched quickly. Their service is very fast, efficient and friendly. A great business!

I have gone here for all my oil changes since I moved to this side of town a year ago. I came to pick up my car today and three of the employees did not wear masks. I let them know I was there to pick up my vehicle and the man at the counter put his mask on up to his chin, not covering his nose or mouth. They lost my service today.

I went to Tuffy to get an oil change and maintenance inspection to avoid any costly repairs in the near future as I am purchasing a home. They did a wonderful job suggesting options for preventative maintenance. Rick even did a little research on my specific vehicle to show when and what repairs are suggested to be made. My wife has oil change and tune up her car in winter and then in spring time the engine light came on. I check engine oil, there isnt any oil in there. I go to Wal-Mart for oil change and they said the same thing. I called Tuffy car service and they said its not their fault. Never come back to them again.

Ive been going here with my family for as long as I can remember. The people here are very thoughtful and kind in getting your car in running condition! We used to take all our vehicles there for everything but after a oil change on TWO separate occasions leaking oil all over our driveway because the plug was not screwed on right I began to question their service..but I thought ok everyone makes mistakes so I continued to go there THEN they replaced a sensor in my right front tire which was well over $100 then down the road a little ways it needed to be replaced again...my tahoe read right front tire both times but yet they told me the right front sensor was not replaced because it wasnt the sensor they use so I had to pay over $100 AGAIN! After this I stopped going there...today I went to air up my RIGHT FRONT tire and the valve stem broke off the sensor so I called them and was told things break and there is no warranty so please be careful who you trust with your vehicles!!! I have receipts for 2 right front sensors!

Best shop in Lincoln! Lived in Lincoln for 8 years, and as a young woman I have been screwed over by numerous mechanics here, but not these folks! Had a very last minute fix in order to move across country and they handled it very quickly, and made sure I was taken care of and Im able to leave right on schedule. Weird side note- cleanest waiting room of any shop Ive ever seen lol But really, the staff was so kind and I appreciate their great service more than they know! Will be sending all my friends and family to them for sure!

My experience was all good, no negatives. Needed a routine oil change and service. I also had a headlight out but there were complications and I needed an entire headlamp assembly. They found a used one at considerably lower price than the dealer and had it sent overnight. They did manage to temporarily insert the bulb so I would have a light in order to drive after dark. Everyone was very pleasant. I definitely will go there again for my automotive and tire needs. Their waiting area was clean and from what I could tell the shop was clean as well.

Stacey and his crew provided excellent service! We had a flat on a rental car, with no spare and no road side service. They quickly located another tire and put it on so we could return the car on time. Highly recommend Tuffy Auto Service!

I was headed to Fremont and my tire pressure was really low and I couldn’t get it to keep air in it. I had my dog and toddler in the car and needed to get to Fremont to take my mom to her physical therapy appointment in Fremont. We called and they were able to get us in immediately. They were able to patch my tire and get me out of there within about 30 mins and it only cost me $25. I can’t say enough great things about our experience today!

Made an appointment three days in advance for an oil change at 0900. When I arrived for my appointment the employee told me that they could not serve me until 1030. Came back at 1030 to drop off my vehicle and was told I would receive a call when it was finished. No call was ever made to tell me the vehicle was ready for pick up, I just showed up and it was parked out front. Customer service is lacking- no smiles, no niceties, and I had gain there attention when I entered the shop because I wasnt even greeted. I will not be returning- too bad because this location has great potential to pull a large amount of clientele.

I took my vehicle into Tuffys for an oil change. Rick handled my questions in a very professional manner. I appreciated their efficient and prompt service. I had previously used the north Lincoln location. However, since that location has closed Im more than pleased with the service Ive received from Rick and his staff.

I started going to this Tuffy around 12 years ago for my auto-service needs, and Rick has always gone out of his way to help give me the best possible service. Genuine customer service is hard to find in this industry, but Ricks Tuffy has the best!

Once again the guys at Tuffys are amazing. I had a headlight out and they were able to fit me in on a very busy day so I wouldnt have to drive without it. Not only do they change the light but also checked my tires and reset a sensor! This is why I go back year after year!

These guys do have OK service. one thing a lot of times they dont want to mess with a person, so they dont follow through on inquiries. they need to know that people do shop around, and if they can compete, they just might get the job, if they want it.I like honest places with no games. IF they dont play games with me I will have to try them. Last time I called for a quote, they said they would have to call me back and the never did, so I figured they did not want the job. of course, now I will need to be sure I can trust them.in more recent time these guys did get back to me on a couple of quote requests. anymore they seem like they are a lot more strait shooting with a person.

As a new Lincoln resident, I was a bit nervous about finding a shop and was very pleased with the service at Tuffy. The service was quick and reasonable and the staff was quite friendly. Will be returning for any future car issues.

Took my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder that has 5k miles on it in for an oil change. After leaving Tuffys I went directly to the Nissan dealer a few blocks away to get a check engine light on issue looked at. During the time the dealer was looking at it part of the fix was to change the oil. When they started draining it they noticed it was very black and they had noticed the sticker that said I had just gotten the oil changed so they saved it in a bottle and gave it to me.I took the oil down to Tuffys and talked to Stacey and he tried telling me their oil is black like that. I have done mechanic work and I only get my oil changed for convenience and oil does not look like that. Stacey went to the shop to grab a test tube of some of their oil to compare. When he got back it was quite obvious that the oil was 50 shades darker than the oil he had. Then he switched his story and said that oil looks like that right after you start it when changing oil. Keep in mind this is a new car with 5k miles and the engine is clean on the inside. Even when changing oil on engines with well over 100k miles it takes time for the oil to actually get dirty. I was shocked. I made the comment a stand up business would apologize and offer to change the oil again or offer a refund. He told me he wasnt going to give me a refund. To be honest, I dont care about a refund. I am more upset that they IMO didnt do work they claim to have done and wont even make it right when caught red handed.

Rick was great! He advised me that the problem could be addressed under the warranty and helped connect me with Toyota - all for no charge. Would recommend highly.

I wish there was another star to give. This shop came highly recommended by a few of my coworkers and now I know why. I have never felt as and ease and assured in any shop. My situation was less than ideal in that it took a while to get to the root of the problem but I received exceptional support with regular check-ins and updates on the diagnostics, what was being done and why. The kicker for me was the support, you can get the work itself done anywhere but what sets this place apart was the way they conduct themselves. Every call was with a smile, every update good or bad was handled perfectly, the cost was in line and after 3 days I picked a vehicle that was riding and sounding better than the day I bought it! Were on a first name basis now this is now my shop, I wont go anywhere else.

We have been taking our cars to Tuffys on 15th and Pine Lake since we moved to Lincoln 6 years ago. Their quality, prices and honesty keep us coming back. Today I took my car in to have a flat tire fixed and the tires aligned. I was pleasantly surprised when they called and said it didnt need to be aligned. They could have aligned them anyway, I would have never known the difference. I was expecting to pay around $100 and instead only paid $25. Ricks honesty and integrity has earned my trust and obviously my business.

This review is long over do! I left a review on facebook last June, and it just hit me that I forgot to leave my review here as well! I am a fairly new customer to Tuffy, and it all started with a kitten and some donuts. I work just across the street from Tuffy, and when I stopped before hitting a kitten on HWY34 one morning on my way to work, I was very worried that I was going to end up killing it. It was raining that day, and I was soaking wet walking in asking for help. Stacy was at the counter and I think it took him by surprise for a moment when I told him there was a kitten stuck in my car, but all of the guys there quickly went to work to find it. She had ridden on my gas tank, and was still alive. They let me use their car to go to work, offered to try to save her if possible, and sure enough, called me a couple hours later to tell me they got her out and she was safe there with them. One of the guys had an extra pair of work pants and had placed them in the box with her to keep her warm. When I asked them how much I owed them, they said nothing. Stacy told me they had a soft spot for animals and they were just glad to help. I took her to the vet the next day, and she was healthy, but stressed. The kids and I named her Tuffy, and she is living up to the name! She is doing very well and has become a big part of our lives. The next day, I washed the pants, and brought all the guys in some donuts to thank them. Rick was there and gave me a hug, and reiterated what Stacy said about having a soft spot for animals. I decided that I will no longer take my car anywhere else. To say they go above and beyond is an understatement. It was clear to me that day that customer service means a lot to them, and that is something I appreciate. If you want honest and outstanding customer service and quality work, this is where you need to go.

I just took my daughter to Tuffy Auto Service to pick up her car, a VW Bug. She needed a new alternator. They had some trouble getting the alternator but were very good. They found the problem quickly and ordered the alternator which came broken but they they reordered one and put it in the car. Everyone there was very kind and cooperative. They are a business my husband and I will use often.Susan

They were going to charge $1400 for radiator and a/c condenser issues and told me this all HAD to be done or risk further damaging my car. Took it to another nearby auto shop who went into detail of what exactly was wrong, was able to fix my a/c condenser no charge (worse case scenario they needed to take it out and Id have no a/c), and fixed the radiator for only $400.Also was charged $95 just TO LOOK at the car. There is also an additional $18 charge from Tuffys that Im not sure why is on my card, and will have to call and sort out with them. Never going back again.

My daughter is a college student at UNL. We dont live in Lincoln, so when she called to say she was having problems with her car stalling. I suggested she call Tuffys. She called Tuffys and they got her in the same day as they and myself were worried about her safety. It took less then an hour to fix it so they didnt even charge her. Being a college student she is poor but trying to be independent, but doesnt have much money, so Tuffys was a big blessing! She is going to tell all her friends at college to go to Tuffys. Thank you Tuffys!!!

I have been a customer at Tuffys for quite some time now and every time I am in they find some reason that I need to spend $500+. Just because I am a female and appear to uninformed about auto, they think that they can overcharge me. I was just in and they wanted to charge me $230 for a new battery. My dad bought and installed a new battery himself for $120, meaning that Tuffy wanted to charge me over $100 for LABOR. After all of this, my car still will not turn over, meaning that there is not a problem with the battery. Tuffy informed me that they did a diagnostic and the alternator was in good condition, and obviously they were wrong. If you are a woman and need car service, do not go to these guys.
