This is the second time I’ve been to this store in a month. The older ladies that work here are so incredibly rude! I’m not sure why they treat customers the way they do but it baffles me. This location really needs to work on customer service. I only frequent stores that make me feel welcomed. I won’t be shopping here again.

Heres what standing out: grill actually Libertyville grill . They cook everything fresh to order and it is TASTY, personal is very attentive and willing to customize orders. Tried several items from their menu and feel more than satisfied besides free side offers like special on menu and coffee. ACTUALLY I didnt find place compatible at quality and price!. For example, have a wrap or salad of your choice in addition free side dish of your choice and coffee at 7$ range. I love to have a lunch here. Worth to try!

Ive been going to this Sunset Foods for several years now and Ive never been disappointed. It is very clean, the people are very nice and are willing to help you. It is a little pricey so dont expect to save a lot of money but the quality is there. You wont be disappointed.

This is a nice clean grocery store. They have a cafe area that then leads into fresh display cases of everything you can think of starting from desserts to deli with a cheese bar, small buffet style area down to seafood at the other end of the store. While this is a nice place it is not a grocery store we will be able to do our weekly shop at due to their PRICES being way too HIGH. It just wouldnt be a cost effective choice for my family. I will however come back for specialty items like fresh cuts of meat and fish and holidays to put out a spread that will wow my guest.

Well, if you must know, its very overpriced. There have been issues with their meats and such before. Make sure you know what youre buying, and for the most part, their produce is very good. If you want the best produce in the area, Lewis fresh market in Waukegan and Marianos in Libertyville are probably the best in the area.

The food selection is excellent, but what really makes Sunset stand out is the staff. Always helpful!

I happened to be in Libertyville and was impressed by this stores social media posts, so I stopped in. What a surprise. A clean, well-stocked store with the best variety I have ever seen in a store. I found three products I havent yet seen in stores--frozen avocados (great for smoothies), Sugar 2.0, and Jimmy Milans salad dressing from Philly. Even though Im over 20 miles from this location, I will return here to stock up. As a food blogger, Im particular about where I shop for food. The store had plenty of personnel and even an expediter of sorts who guided me to the least busy checkout and placed my groceries on the belt. Good, old-fashioned service and fresh produce.

I don’t normally review grocery stores but I can’t say enough about the amazing employees here. They go out of their way to help you, especially when checking out. They seem to value your time more than even you do yourself! Food is always fresh, good choices. Sometimes prices are higher but there are sales all the time.

Had a bad experience a few days ago at the Libertyville Sunset - I expect better and want the manager and other customers to know about this. There was some sort of animosity between the checker and the bagger. They were joking around with each other about who works harder, but there was a real meanness about it - definitely not joking. This clearly made customers in two checkout aisles uncomfortable and continued throughout the checking/packing of my order. Once home I discovered that due to the checker being distracted by this arguing she had scanned some of my items more than once. Sunset employees - please be more professional and accurate. Customers - check your receipt, as I should have done, before you leave the store to guard against double scanning. Disappointing...I was a regular customer, but wont be back.

This place is great and convenient, you get what you pay quality and delicious options. My husband love the freshly made sushi.The grill have a great selection my favorites are chicken tacos, chicken sandwich or tuna salad. I recommend this place because the employees are super attentive and friendly. Angela from the grill is super nice Always.

We we very happy to see the Grill has opened back up. It is great for take out lunch and dinner. The Ruben and the Buffalo Wrap with homemade chips are our favorites. Looks like they have opened up some patio seating. Always friendly service too.

On 10/10/2020 ordered sliced meat from deli! Asked for 1 lb, medium thickness! Had to repeat several times because he was not understanding me! Finally( I thought), he started getting it & slicing! He didn’t show me, but as I was looking at other things in case I didn’t pay attention! Got the meat & left without checking! Which I shouldn’t have to! Got home it was only 1/2 lb & very thin! Hopefully I can find this meat elsewhere & not have to go back!

Went downhill. Everything i used to buy is no longer there. Just like every other store in Illinois. Always changing stuff, AND STOP PUTTING SPICY MAYO ON ALL THE SUSHI. OMG just stop. It doesnt have to be on every single special roll.

Everyone is so nice in the store. The butcher cut a very nice piece of meat for me. We also talked about how to make it tender. He also helped me find something else I was looking for. When I was ready too check out, someone told me to go t oo the Customer service desk and they c will check me out, since all the other cashiers were busy.

Prices are slightly higher than other grocery stores, but they offer a lot of their own house brand foods that are better quality than other grocery stores. I do wish that they would restock items more, the breakfast foods that I like to buy are infrequently available and I discovered that a can of deodorant I bought from Sunset in 2020 had expired in 2018

Good store with nice variety. but if you call in an order for fresh mussels and oysters and someone tells you they will have plenty so you dont need to reserve any, place the order anyway. went in on Christmas Eve and didnt order on the advice of someone at the fish counter and almost got shut out. They got me what i wanted but it was a tense 20 minute wait.

I am from Florida and stopped in here with my mother. the store was clean and the staff was friendly. Jini was awesome at checkout! All of the shelves were stocked and there was always a friendly associate close by for assistance. I will definitely be back. Kudos to the management for a great store and staff.

Its ok but so pricey! And people wonder why go to them when you can pay less elsewhere.

Always unusual items. Very convenient and super service. A little high on some prices, but they have all conveniences of a great grocery store... deli, bakery, sandwich shop, flower shop, and a large liquor shop. Highly recommend.

I really miss shopping here since I moved. I occasionally get to the store when Im in the area. They have lots of good things & their deli & grill are great.

Everything here is top rate, especially convenient to have a lunch with a nice draft beer. The best build-your-burger I have had for about $10. Everything is always fresh. And if you are looking for a fine bottle of wine, the liqueur department is small yet phenomenally staffed and stuffed. Eder is the most knowledgeable wine authority I have ever met. Very helpful and friendly.

For a foodie visiting from the West coast, finding Sunset was a good day. Great premade avocado rolls.

Prices are a bit high here but, the service is great. They have a great little diner that makes one of the best hamburgers Ive ever eaten. Also the best fresh snapper of anywhere around (When they have it).

Good grocery store that you are able to find items not typically found in other major chains. The best part of this store is the deli and hot food options. Great place to stop in for lunch. Also thier deli has the best chicken salad and tuna salad Ive ever had (Santa fe style).

A great place to get groceries and they will help you get it to your car. They have a great staff in every department and people to help you check out. They are the only store I can get Geshia water pack albacore tuna, and the butchers are very helpful with all the meat selections.

Good selection of freshly prepared hot food and cold salads to take home and scarf down at the end of a long work day. | For those used to unloading their own carts onto the conveyor belt, be prepared to be challenged; of the three helpers at each cash register, the first one will commandeer your cart to unload for you, the second one is the cashier ringing up your stuff, and the third will bag your purchases, after which point youre offered the option to drive up your to the side pick-up door and have everything loaded in for you while you wait in the drivers seat, oh, and there is no tipping allowed!

Good choice of meats and a legit butcher, olive oils, produce and specialty items. Deli is also very good . Have used them for catering, including thanksgiving dinner.

Im a big fan of Sunset and would give it 5 stars but the pricing is a little bit High. They have the best trimmed outside skirt steak you can get anywhere. Its 17.99 a pound but its absolutely the best cut of steak you will ever have.

As someone who works close by I can attest that this grocery store has some of the best lunch options in the area for great prices. The burgers and wraps are fantastic and their salad/soup bars have become staples of my weekly lunch breaks. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful on a very consistent basis.

I met a girl while shopping who stated to me she was very good at editing film which I asked her to do and through working with her she somehow became infatuated with me and asked if I was interested which I said I was not. Shortly, after I received a telephone call from this person, Trisha, who said she wanted to kill herself as a result of my not being interested. I stopped all further contact with her and the store after this incident. I was not treated very well by an African American woman who I believe was a manager at this location as she did not appear to be very good at interacting with customers and probably should not have been in customer service.

I enjoy shopping here. Everything you need they have. The have the nicest staff around. Recommended!

This is the friendliest Grocery store Ive ever encountered. Their selection is vast with many unique item. To top it off they have a grill & BEER ON TAP!

I have been going to Sunset for over 55 years. Good selection and service but prices can be high on some items.

I love that they have food products that I had as a kid growing up Jewish.

We joke and call it whole foods little Jewish cousin. Awesome deli, hot bar, cafe and produce. They carry a lot of speciality items so there is always something fresh and new. Staff is amazing, from the deli folks to the butcher, produce staff, cashiers and baggers they are quick to offer help. Store is smaller so it us quick to duck in and get what you need.

Sunset Foods in Libertyville is a great place to go grocery shopping as all of the staff members here are extremely friendly and extremely helpful as they everything they can do to make you feel as comfortable as possible when you are ready to check out and the store is extremely clean and is very well stocked with the freshest produce and with freshly baked products that you are able to smell that makes my mouth water.

I absolutely love this place! They have the nicest managers and staff!!! So friendly and were open on Christmas eve.

This is a very nice store and the staff is always helpful and friendly. My comment this time is about their fresh pies. I purchased a peach pie. It looked delicious but was a total disappointment. The crust was way too heavy, dry and thick and though it looked puffed up and beautiful, there were very few peach slices inside. Mostly air and some gummy filling.I dont know if all their pies are like this or not, but at $12.99 I will definitely not purchase another one to find out.

Really only meant for people who have too much money. Prices are beyond unreasonable. Anyone who shops here would be better off shopping ANYWHERE else and donating the excess money to those who have absolutely nothing. Too bad we live in a world where people dont think of others though Im sure their views would change if they were suddenly put in that position themselves.
