I do grocery pickup from this location weekly. I just picked up an order and am very disappointed in my produce. With grocery pickup, you put your trust (and pay) in the employees to make “good” selections. The salad I received is brown and rotting. So disappointing. This is not the first time I have been disappointed in a pickup selection, may have to rethink my shopping.

Im changing my rating to one star. Its a lovely and clean store but right now we need to be as safe. Despite the current mask mandate in Lexington (9/2/21) S&S had an employee stocking with a mask hanging around their neck. Another employee was wearing theirs below their nose. I had to ask about a product I couldnt find at the front desk and brought up what I was observing and the response was a shrug off the shoulders and a lame, if they are vaccinated... Well, thats not an appropriate response because its the local ordinances that they need to comply with. If they are unwilling then I am unwilling to shop there.

I would like to acknowledge the help provided by Maria on online shopping. There was, a special sale, a couple of weeks ago, on scallops at $7.99 per pound that I was unable to order online despite many efforts. I spoke with Maria who said they were out but she would make sure that they could honor this offer. A couple of weeks later she called back to let me know while they still did not have this item available she would substitute the same with fresh scallops and include it with my next pickup. She was able to pull this together and not only honor the original price from several weeks earlier but she actually included this in my order without any charge at all. It is reasons like Maria that keep me a loyal customer of Stop & Shop.

Stop & Shop maybe a little more expensive, but when you have a quick need, they have it. Their French bread is wonderful. Customer service is always the best.

Theyve got your basics, and a special section for higher end products. On the plus side they have great deals on meat, especially around the holidays. Downside is that their produce can be a little wilted or old. Either way its probably the most convenient to Lexington and is usually on the emptier side for those quick in and outs.

I went to the Lexington Stop and Shop to look for items (non-perishable) for the upcoming Passover holiday. They had almost everything that I was looking for in stock, 4 weeks before the holiday. Much of the time I was the only person in that particular aisle. Dont forget to look for the items on the rear endcaps.

Meat Department worker went out of his way to be helpful

Good grocery store with options for organic products, reasonable prices, pick up and delivery also available, nice staff too.

Slow and unhelpful staff, odd layout, and they did not carry what I was looking for.

Prefer this location over arlington mass sale items are always in stock great selection in the reduced bakery isle.

This location is somewhat small and in desperate need of a major renovation! The selection of of food and quality are very good! Employees need to work on thier customer service skills, too much attitude! This is Lexington, not the town of weston, far from it! Speak to them, please do!

I prefer to shop here over Market Basket. The prices are competitive and sometimes better. Their customer service is far above the rest. You can actually get assistance loading your car if you are disabled in a timely fashion.

Its a small place, crowded with good stuff. They have an enormous range of spices. Prices are quite reasonable.

Self check out lines really speed up the place

I live in Lexington, and this is the closest grocery store to me. I only shop here only for the convenience... The produce is subpar, the selection in general is limited, and checking out is a slow process. The parking lot makes it convenient, and there are so few shoppers that I can get in and out relatively quickly. Its like Grandpa used to say about Howard Johnsons, at least I know how bad it is...

Convenient local shopping is what makes this location. Easy in and easy out. Not a huge selection but good enough. Can be a bit on the pricy side unless you catch items on sale.

We visited this Stop & Shop supermarket for the first time recently to see if it was better than the ones in Arlington. It was definitely bigger but the selection of items did not seem as big as the S&S in nearby Bedford. The prepared food section looked pretty tasty.

Inattentive cashiers at the self checkouts. Ive walked out twice out of the last four visits without buying anything because no one is around to help you when the register freezes. The last time an employee was working in the area of the self checkouts and her reply when asked for help was I dont have a card. Then she went back to working without even trying to help. The store also does not always open on time in the morning, more like seven-ish is the opening time. Produce is average at best. Go to the Bedford Stop and Shop instead where there are helpful employees and better quality produce.

Many nice employees, but a few bad apples, which hurts the experience. Theres also a kind of pushy, fast moving, city attitude to the place. Im sticking with Bedford. Much better store.1/2/2020:. Been here twice since my last review/edit. Wanted to give the place another chance. Both times were very pleasant. The two individuals who were difficult before were NOT so during these visits. This stop and shop has amazing service! They always get someone to arrive right at the end of my self scan belt when its time to pay! They never help or nah my stuff but boy......for some reason I always get preference. I suppose just in case I need help..🤔🤔🤔

This is incredibly expensive store. You are better off shopping in Burlington Market Basket which has better service and normal prices. If you want to pay their prices you may as well shop in upscale Whole Foods.

Its a SUPER Stop and Shop, so its bigger than most. And its in Lexington, so its more upscale than many. Its rarely extremely busy, so shopping here is a pleasant experience. Prices are pretty average--it if aint on sale, youll do better at a discount market like Market Basket.

Very clean store. But very expensive! Almost $5 for a bag of tostido chips. Almost $9 for a freshetta pizza. If you are on a budget I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Outrageous prices! Recent example: Coke Zero on sale, $6.69 if you buy two. Market Basket regular price $4.00. Use only for single items, as a convenience store!

This is a bog standard Stop & Shop location with slightly elevated prices due to the Lexington location. Also, do not expect a wide selection of international foods.Hot Tip: The deli department frequently has free samples during the lunch hour!

I shop frequently at various grocery stores on a regular basis. The stores that focus on quality are a pleasure (Wegman’s, Whole Foods) unfortunately, Stop and Shop makes it pretty clear...they have no focus.Inventory, quality of produce and layout are just the beginning of the list of the ineptness of this chain.Today, there were more customers working at Stop and Shop than employees. I went to self checkout because one register was open. I looked around and there were five employees (one a supervisor) fooling around and talking while several “customers” were scanning and bagging their own groceries.Pay more for a poorly run store and to top it off, you can do all the work too..Stop and Shop will not be around unless it makes some big changes.

The Lexington Stop & Shop is great for those who dont want or need the superstore. It is clean, the stores team is friendly and very helpful.

No carts... No reusable bags... Long line at checkout. They had the items I needed but the overall experience made me regret not just going the extra few miles to Wegmans.

I wish I could give this place zero stars.They have outrageous prices,and the whole stop&shop card is entirely bogus (why cant they give you the discount based on the store card by default?)And as for the service:This morning, I was at the store at 7 AM to buy something urgent for the day. There was one non-self-service aisle with the light on, but no clerk. When I went and stood there, the clerk eventually showed up, and greets me with I dont understand why people dont go through self-service.So I picked up my jaw from the floor (what, you dont want your job? you prefer to be replaced by a robot? maybe you have a point), and pointed out to her that the self-service aisles do not support store-card, and you end up paying a bogus price as a result, which is why I never shop at S&S if I can help it.Stay away from this chain. Market Basket down the street has much better prices and service.
