I went about a couple months ago to 4 different jewelry stores and then I stopped in to Hurst and was amazed at how helpful and attention to details they went to help me with different styles of engagement rings, couple months later I saw they were closing the store, told my girlfriend and we stopped in there and they bent over backwards to help her find the one! She was so happy! Staff is amazing and wish they were staying in business. Other jewelry stores could learn a lot from Hurst!!

My fiance and I went to Hurst to simply get my ring finger sized and we ended up chatting for almost 3 hours (after hours at that!). The ring that my fiance asked to be made for me was absolutely perfect. They gave wonderful advice and suggestions and allowed my fiance to return multiple times to ensure that he picked the perfect diamond and ring. Every time I return to Hurst I feel like family. I needed a watch fixed but didnt know what all it would involve. A friend told me this would need a jeweler, not a simple store clerk where watches are sold. I called Hurst Diamonds via Google information, spoke with Mike and he agreed cost of battery replacement if that is what would be recognized as the only problem. I went here after a bad experience with another jeweler, they were so helpful! I needed to get my class ring resized, and other jewelers wouldn’t touch class rings if the business I bought it from was still operating, but I didn’t want to send it off for weeks without any clue when I was going to get it back. Hurst took my ring, and measured me and it, and had my ring back to me in less then a week! It is beautiful and fits perfect! Highly recommend!

All of personnel at Hust Diamonds are polite and professional and very willing to help you find exactly what you are looking for. With Marisas help I was able to find the perfect loose diamond from an entire state away from their Lawrence shop. After many quality email exchanges, phone calls, and considerate contemplation Marisa found a beautiful diamond for my fiance, and it was on par with my budget! I took my friends engagement ring in to get sized. Everyone was very helpful to me. They even got on the phone with my friend just to confirm all of my friends request to make sure the ring was done correctly. I called into the store after they had already closed for the day and they answered and stayed behind to allow me to come pick up the ring after hours. This was extremely helpful because I was flying out the next Day to my friends secret engagement. If they had not been so nice to stay behind after hours I probably would’ve had to cancel my flight and rebook another one. Super impressed with the commitment from the staff.

I was blown away by customer service at Hurst. I was in contact with Marisa, and she communicated completely over mail and phone to give me details, work within my budget, and give me any and all assistance I needed. She sent pictures of available rings, offered suggestions for different mount-and-diamond combinations, and helped me figure out their financing system with Progressive. On that, it was difficult to get financing, since I dont have a credit score, as Ive never owned a credit card, but Hurst was one of the few places that offered me a 3-month plan with no added interest. The ring arrived a little later than expected, but even that was communicated well with me. I would absolutely recommend Hurst without hesitation.

After checking out a couple national chains, my partner and I went to Hurst because we wanted to check out an option to buy her engagement ring locally. We are from the deep south, not Kansas, but in our two years in Lawrence, the town has been great and we try to contribute to local businesses whenever it is possible and economically feasible. Going to Hurst was a great decision. Marcus walked us through every step of the process, from bringing in diamonds, to educating us about the differences between them, staying within our price range, how to insure the ring if we desired, discussing the guild of local diamond retailers to which they belong in case anything happened to our ring while we were out of the area, and he even helped me with financing the ring on my very meager graduate-student stipend. All the things that were not present in our experiences with any of the national chains.In all, I think we made four visits to Hurst, and a couple phone calls to the store, and each time Marcus, as well as the entire staff, was incredibly hospitable and helpful. We could not have asked for more and recommend Hurst Fine Diamonds highly.We will be back in the spring to purchase our wedding bands, and not because they are local, but because Marcus, the staff, and the product we received were all outstanding. Whether we stay in Lawrence or move a different part of the country, we will come back to Lawrence to meet with Marcus and his family every time there is a diamond purchase in our future.Shop local, and definitely shop at Hurst.

We have been customers since 1993. When the location in Columbia, Mo closed we decided we wanted to stay costumers. We have always been treated so good over the years we drive 6 hours round trip twice a year for inspections on my rings. They know us when we walk in and that is rare. Mike Hurst is a true professional. We visited several jewelry stores around the Lawrence area and the service and expertise we experienced at Hurst was far beyond the rest. Most of the other jewelry stores offered no real insight as to the differences in the stones/cuts. Mike took the time to explain the differences, show us different cuts and we ended up going with a double crown cut, which Mike mentioned that he is the only supplier of this particular type of cut in the area. The nice thing about Mike is he did not try to up sell us to the most expensive stone. He listened to what we were looking for and only showed us stones in the price range that we requested. The ring we bought is amazing and we have received nothing but compliments. If youre shopping for a ring in the Lawrence/Topeka/KC area, I would visit Hurst Fine Diamonds.
