We cannot say enough good things about this company. My wife and I decided to buy two scooters and shopped at least a dozen other Scooter retailers.Michele, Mark, Matt and the entire staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Every employee you meet there will treat you with respect and patience no matter your experience with scooters. The staff at Tropical Scooters really care about you as their customer, about you as a person, and about their store. They want to be the best scooter store, and to me they are the best.They are so open and helpful even after you buy something. I called them for months after I bought a used scooter, and they always took the time to guide me through what I was trying to figure out.If I lived closer I would just hang out in the store, that’s how much I love it. But I’m in DTSP, they are in Largo. That said, when I bought my used scooter (not even a new one), and I was nervous to drive it back to Downtown St Pete, they even called a scooter/motorcycle tow truck for me, to bring it right to my house.They are a kind, competent, fair, helpful, knowledgeable family owned business.I fully recommend them to anyone, and I will use them for all my scooter needs(currently planning on having them hook up LED lights under my scooter. Yes, they do more than just sell scooters, they work on them too)Ps - I was looking for a used (in excellent condition) seafoam colored Genuine Buddy for nearly a year. Everything online either had lotss of miles, or looked old/like junk.I found tropical scooters and they hooked me up with (after waiting a small bit) used 2013 Seafoam colored, perfect condition, Genuine Buddy, with 300 MILES ON IT !! It’s basically brand new. Even given this, their price was fair and they saved me THOUSANDS of dollars I would’ve spent if I bought a new one, even though this one is basically brand new. :)Love this place !

Was a customer here for a while. Pretty overpriced services and recently they sold me the wrong part for my bike and then wouldnt allow me to return it even with the receipt in an unopened package. Bad customer service and staff doesnt know what theyre doing

Buyers beware. Before purchasing a scooter from tropical. Please do your research on what brand you would like to buy. Most of the brands they sell are poor quality junk. I purchased a new scooter from them and had it repaired three different times with in 6 months. That they of course charged me for.I had such a horrible experience with the scooter that I ended up taking it back to them on consignment. Plus be aware of the very expensive oil changes. Also the mechanics there are just young kids that have little experience on how to repair a scooter properly.

Good selection. Great service. Plan to buy a scooter in the next few weeks.Bought a scooter, a Lance PCH 125, made in Taiwan, based on the recommendation of the owners. It is a bit more expensive than a Chinese 150cc but I love it. It has great acceleration and comes with a two warranty! Terrific advice from the owners.First oil change tomorrow. Ill be back with an update on both the service and expense. I anticipate all will go well.

Went there, ask for scooter, they said they have it ready in 2 hours, came back, they had a use scooter look like is new, presented me as new, yet had 24miles already on it..... so I pay 1500 plus tax... anoter $200 added to 1500 should.... than I bought it, now I cant change it back, they have a no return policy once u buy it from them... not good for business! May you lord judge your business and may no one ever buy from this store or ur family again.... wicked people.... taking advantage of others... putting up good customer service than is another when gone... dont trust them... even my gut feeling was hurting the whole time, telling me, but I still got it... fool me once... If you mention Tropical Scooters to the locals- more than half will immediately rehash their TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with them.After getting a new engine and carb on my 50cc- now I also have a Tropical Scooters Horror Story.I literally called them on my way home from picking up my scooter and told them it wasn’t running right- 5 blocks away, I wanted to turn around and bring it back IMMEDIATELY- but Mike gave me some excuses and against my better judgement I told them I would give it a few days. Exactly 1 week later- my scooter would start but NOT run or move- and I was now stranded with no way to get to work! Exactly what I thought I was avoiding by getting a new engine installed. The worst part is Tropical Scooters does NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK! in fact, because as any person would be, because I called and spoke with Mike who a: talked me into a new carb, b: talked me into not coming back immediately, and C: just kept saying bring it over and I kept yelling HOW AM I GOING TO DO THAT IT WONT RUN! (funny thing he never offered a tow- which I know they use a friend of theirs company - so he wanted me to pay to have it towed? ) So yes, I was upset with Mike when I called that time. Calling again to get the matter resolved, the lady felt it was more satisfying to put me in my place instead of standing by their work said “you better not yell or be rude or we’re not going to help you”Help me do what? Fix YOUR WORK 1 week after???Luckily!! I was able to find another Scooter repair shop in Largo- that Instantly knew what part of my new engine was defaulted, and also took the time to reinstall the new engine properly. They didn’t charge me an arm and a leg and more importantly unlike Tropical stands by their work! Thank God! Or I would still have a broken down scooter!!Well, at least I learned a lesson, a $700 dollar lesson.. and that is GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT TROPICAL SCOOTERS!!Ps I told that lady “forget it, I would rather figure it out myself, and that I would be leaving my experience in reviews.” And do you think even then they cared? We went yesterday with hopes of purchasing two scooters, the lady behind the counter said something like “do you need help or what?” So immediately I realized this may not be good. We told her what we were looking for and a price range ($1000 per scooter, but of course we were open to spend more) she immediately said “I can’t help you” and mentioned something about COVID and prices. She pretty much just disregarded anything we were asking. It was very uncomfortable, so we left. Went up the road to Streetside Scooters and purchased two scooters which totaled about $3k. I guess they didn’t need or want our money. It was very bizarre.

I paid in full for my scooter in February. Love the scooter, thought I was dealing with be an honest company. I have brought my 125 scooter in for the second time to have oil change and any fluid topped off. My scooter which I drove 12 miles to get there at 60 mph ran great. I was told for 30.00 more I could get sparkplugs changed and it should be done around be 2000 miles. I had 1200 miles and could not afford to get new plugs. When I drove home and ever since, my bike lags and would start to stall if I went above 40 mph. This is not a coincidence. I will never buy or have work done from tropical scooters again.

I took my scooter here 7 times, spending over $400 total in repairs.Each time I brought the bike home, within 24 hours there was a new problem that I had to come in and pay them for.Thank God that I have blessed income!!!

Went in to buy my son a quad bike and the sales rep never stood up from chair and proceeded telling me they aren’t doing any special deals because the owner is a penny pincher. We also asked to test drive a bike and was told no vehicle is gassed until paid in full. We then asked if there were any demo bikes and was told no and nor will they ever. Over total customer service tragedy!

I found an ad in cycle trader and purchased a motorcycle from Tropical Scooters. The whole process was a great experience. They were very knowledgeable and professional. Nick was very friendly and helpful. I was impressed with the effort he put into communicating with me throughout the whole process. If you’re near Tampa I highly recommend this place. Just walking through the door I was warmly greeted as if I was a regular customer and a friend. They had lots of inventory including scooters, motorcycles, gear and accessories. Service after the sale is always important. Nick stayed in communication with me inquiring about my purchase, satisfaction, and if there was anything I needed from him. Bought a brand new 150 Chinese piece of junk scooter from them a few months back I liked the snap 100 days same as cash program. Had to bring the scooter into them for a 500-mile mandatory oil change or my warranty would go invalid. But when I was there I was asking them about my back rack that had completely lost one bolt and was very loose. I was going to do it myself but I had to bring it in for an oil change anyways and since I did buy it from them brand-new you would think that they could tighten down a few bolts for me which they did but they left the one that completely vibrate it out empty they didnt even put a screw in there for me..smhThe oil change was $29.99!!! I mean seriously its not even that much for a vehicle oil change and with a vehicle oil change you get a lot more!! Ya that was definitely shady to take my 29 99 plus tax and not even put a bolt in the back rack for me from a brand new scooter I just purchased there.. they didnt bother looking at my radio without more charges this thing is brand new 480 miles and so many things are already broke!Besides the fact I dropped it off there and nobody even called me back and let me know it was ready something was fixed anything nothing.. Ive been in customer service my whole life including my fathers 45-year run in the car business so I know what customer service is all about and its not here but you can find some Chinese junk to break. ;)WOW!!! Just seeing on my scooter what the guy Matt from tropical scooters was talking about he said my bottom kickstand was broken and bent I didnt know what he was really talking about because I couldnt tell when I was picking it up but now that I have at home I can see that somebody was beating up my scooter while it was dropped off for the overpriced oil change so they destroyed the scooter they sold me after I bought it!!Matt is a liar Thief and dont bring your scooter there for any kind of repair because it may come back damaged with a bill! unbelievable!! I wish I could give them zero Stars

Its a great way to get fast transportation for a little money I only give them a 1 star because my husband dropped off his scooter they didnt call to let us know that it was going to cost money we both thought it was still under warranty but the electric problems we didnt know was not covered under warranty they fixed the scooter without asking us if it was oaky turns out we cant pay them for another week. They didnt even ask if it was oaky to fix it they never even called to let us know anything about it. We waited a week. This is my husbands only transportation to and from work now we have to wait another week before we can pay for the service that we never said it was oaky to fix to begin with we just asked them to look at it. Am not mad they thought they was doing what we asked so am not mad I just wished they called first before fixing it that away it would of given us a chance to come up with the money before hand so that away we could of picked it up today instead of being forced to wait

I recently purchased a scooter and could not be happier with my little bike. The process was SO easy from beginning to end. I did most of it by email with Matt. When I went to actually sign and pay, everyone was so helpful and friendly. They even arranged for its transport via a tow back to South Tampa. I LOVE my little Genuine Roughhouse. Excellent customer service, but the scooter we bought has a ton of issues. For the most part, theyve been willing to fix them. Also, the tags took way long to get back, but they say it was the DMV. I cant say either way. Hindsight: do more research. Reviews are not always reliable.

Originally quoted me $799, then an hour later informed me that “after all the work put into it” (supposedly in an hour) they were raising the price to $999, to my astonishment. Then in the few seconds I was thinking about whether I wanted to continue with getting info, nick said aloud “guess he hung up, I’ll just raise it to 1200 next time he calls” to someone on his end, and hung up on me. I immediately called back to confront nick about this, to which he said “ your welcome” at which point I ended the call. Nick did call back and apologize, but by placing blame on “rude customers”. Wouldn’t recommend doing business here, as even a moments hesitation will be seen as being rude.
