This is my 2nd time using Top Tax and let me just say they are great! I arrived a little early, and had to wait a little bit. I didnt mind at all. I was a little leery of a different person doing our taxes this year. (The guy that did them was there, he was just helping someone else.) Do not live anywhere near this area but went because a friend of mine told me it was the spot. Again I live about 45 miles away in a completely different county. After a couple months I had my identity stolen and someone was opening credit and paying utility bills for a property within a few miles from this tax business.I would just advise to be very careful who you are giving ALL your information to, it might be a coincidence but my gut says it was it would not have happened if I didn’t go here.To be fair to the business this is just my opinion and ASSUMPTION but unfortunately I’m sticking to it!

He prepares a draft and emails it to me. Once I approve the draft, he files it. There may be several email communications back and forth and many drafts exchanged, but NEVER has he complained that I make too many changes or inquiries! The reason I give it this rating is mostly based on the price. They were quick and friendly staff but we had to remind The preparer of a few things but mostly when it came time to pay the owner seemed to get a number off the top of his head and looked at last years tax documents that were prepared by someone else and then gave the price(I’m not sure why I was required to bring those for my price) call me crazy but I have never paid more than $100 to file and he charged us $180 and said that was a discount ..for that price I would’ve expected a fancy envelope at the very least but nope..and I don’t know if that’s what the rate is around there but when you aren’t getting a big refund like most paying almost $200 to file and then on top of that having to pay the IRS really isn’t that appealing. Again funny nice people but next year we’re certainly going with my usual lady.

Hello All,My wife and I had been getting our taxes done at a CPAs office for years. The CPA office was in the San Diego area which was a good hour and fifteen minutes from where we live. Because of the distance I had been casually looking for a new tax preparer. I met several tax preparers and Id ask them a few tax questions. Just feeling them out! The question that stumped them all (accept Brian Cook) was about hypothecation loans and the interest expense assoicated with it. Brian knew all about those loans and I knew if and when I changed tax professional Brian would be our guy. Our CPA became ill and reduced his clients and we headed straight to Brians TopTaxPros office in Lakewood, Ca. As new clients Brian took his time and got to know a little about us. He did a great job and unlike our previous tax professional our taxes were complete before we left Brians office.
