I built a custom PC myself but ran into some issues with it not booting up. I brought it in to them and they were able to fix it within the same day! I was very surprised how quickly they were able to fix everything. They are very knowledgeable and professional. My custom built gaming rig that I owned for less than two years ( built by a California company) crashed after the warranty date. I took it to Alex PC Tech and the gentleman did everything he could to revive the computer and could not do so (many hours!). He explained in great detail what possibly happened and how rare it was. In any case, the machine was toast. He was able to rebuild for me a brand new gaming computer with parts from my old machine and new parts that were required. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I went into Alex PC Tech today after work (5:45ish) expecting to hear that the repair would cost a couple hundred dollars and take a week or so to fix. Not only was I treated so kindly inside, but he went through what he thought the situation was, what the costs would be if he was correct, and explained his plan so I knew what was happening. Pleasantly, the repair ended up being just a thorough cleaning and my computer works good as new. He called before I had even returned home with that update and said he would be done tonight. He had a mask on before I even entered and sanitized the surfaces as well. Alex turned a stressful situation into a simple and easy solution. I will be making this my one-stop computer repair shop.

Built myself a expensive gaming pc and could not get it to boot, not even to bios, no video output. A few days ago I received an ibuypower prebuilt pc from amazon with a bad graphics card. After 3 days of trying, I still wasnt able to get ahold of their customer service. Pc fried during a lightning storm and returned it to my wareanty company. They then replaced my prt with a downgraded SSD card and i stalled windows weongly. I want to start by saying I cant say/express enough about how great these guys are, specifically my man Gino.I want to say first working with Gino was a relief off my mind, even after losing my games. Computers and electronics might be his job but it was easy to see theyre definently a passion and hobby aswell and he takes it very serious. He was great to work with though because he wasnt there to just sell me new parts, we talked about what I did with my setup, we talked about gaming, and we talked about builds hes done. It was great to just discuss specs and have good conversation with a down to earth guy like him!At 3:30pm today I brought my laptop in after a weekend of not being able to game. I got hit with the blue screen. I was pretty sure from the code that came up I had lost my hard drive and Gino confirmed the bad news.He said he had a few thing to wrap up on his latest project and he would get to work on my rig, and that it should be ready the next day. Great! One project off my mind and I can pick it up after work I figured. I got a call an hour later saying he had everything setup and ready to go and I could pick it up by 5pm. Man was that awesome! I got in and he had me look through and confirm I had the basics back and that I was good to go.Seriously consider working with these guys if youre having electronic issues. I just found them by random on a tech store search but it was a great choice and Im glad I got to work with Gino!

He repaired my computer from a mistake I made downloading a update and installed a new SSD hard drive so I had more space. He also did some updates for me. All in one day! He explained what he was doing and updated me on the progress. Im very happy with his service and would not hesitate to use him again.

I needed a Windows 10 install on my desktop. When I dropped it off (around 10 AM) Alex suggested we take a look at my system before I left. He discovered my solid state drive was segmented and the half I was using was full. In addition to the Windows 10 install he suggested/recommended I have an additional 250GB solid state drive installed. He thought that he may be able to get this all done the same day. Sure enough I got a call a little before 4 PM that my computer was done and ready for pick-up. Alex went over my new system and showed me how he had set it up based upon our previous conversation that day. I could not have been more pleased. When I got home and hooked it up it was now running just as fast as it had when it was new. Thanks Alex!

My Alienware laptop continued to get BSOD, so I did a fresh install on my hard-drive to see if that would fix the issue. It did not. I brought my laptop into the shop, and immediately after telling the gentleman at the store about my issue, he pinpointed the problem and had a solution for me. I had a fried SSD and backed up gunk inside of my laptop. It was long overdue for a cleaning as well.I paid and left, and was told to come back in a few hours. It took about 3 hours for me to get a call, and the computer looked brand new, fresh OS install, and two new SSD sticks installed. Thank you for the assistance today. I will refer others to your establishment.

Is there an option for 6 stars? I was in a bad spot as I work from home on my laptop. It went down at 9am. I took it in, needed a lot of work. About 2 to 3 days worth anywhere else. I came in looking for several parts and walked out with one of the most unique cases Ive seen in awhile for my partner. Alex was very friendly and helpful and I would greatly recommend him over anywhere else nearby.

My Dell laptop computer would not start up. I took it to the Geek Squad in Brainerd and they worked on it for three days and finally gave up. Not only couldnt they fix it, but they wiped all the data on my hard drive and operating system, so nothing was recoverable. They said it wasnt worth trying to fix even though it was a $1,500 laptop that was only about a year old. Before I completely abandoned it, I Googled PC techs in Lakeville and Alex popped up. I figured it was worth a shot. Alex told me he thought he could get it back up and running. A half hour after I dropped it off, he called me to let me know he was going to be able to fix it and it would be ready the next day! He determined that it was an issue with the WiFi and had nothing to do with the operating system and hard drive. And the Geek Squad had tried so many times to fix it, the hard drive had been wiped completely clean. Luckily, we determined that everything was on the OneDrive, so the computer works and I got all my data. He also determined my computer is still under warranty and since I have ProService, a Dell technician should come to my home and fix the WiFi issue for free. He gave me a work around until I can get that done, He is amazing and extremely reasonably priced. I cant recommend him enough.

Alex PC Tech is owned and operated by a delightful gentleman whose name I will omit for his privacy. He has worked on two of my computers and is always my first call. My reason for writing this review is that he went above and beyond the call of duty to provide a satisfying customer experience for me. He charged me nothing extra for an image copy task that should have taken 1-2 hours and ended up taking 12 or more. It seems that neither of us knew that my C: drive was failing. But when he ran the image copy, the software failed, creating massive problems. When I heard that he worked late on a Thursday and Friday and 4 hours before opening on Saturday, to resolve the problem, I bought him some flowers and thanked him, and he told me that this gift made his day.When you come for service you will see the store full of accessories and equipment of reasonably good quality and very good pricing. Like a shopkeeper in Europe, he will try to recommend additional purchases with enthusiasm and gentleness. You cant help but like this affable, intelligent man. I have come to enjoy his company over the years and he always greets me with a hey buddy, how are you doing? You wont be disappointed, should you go to see him. Ive been going to Alex PC for years with the help of my computers but recently they out did themselves.Because of problems with my wifes computer and Windows 10 updates, she decided to have them build a new PC for her.After I reviewed the specs, because she was using it for business, I decided that she needed more machine with more core and exchanged the hard drive for a SSD drive. She now has a I7 (4/8) core at 3.6 GHz and Windows 10 professional. And no more Windows 10 problems. With a nice 23 in monitor. Its a Dell pro machine. And man is it fast.Well, after seeing hers, I turned around and had them build me the same machine but I wound up with a newer model with a smaller footprint.Mine has a few upgrades, you know!And its fast too, just the way I like it and need it.They are very, very knowledgeable and I learn something new each time I go in, and Ive been in the computer field for a very long time.

I had a 1 terabit hard drive crash and lost 8 years of pictures. Brought it in and within a weekend he had recovered all of the data on the drive. Without his help we would have lost everything. And the cost was hundreds less than is I took it to the van squad. Worth every penny.

Last month my iMacs hard drive crashed and Apple Service said they couldnt help me with that because they dont retrieve files. I brought my computer to Alex PC Tech and he spent hours retrieving all my files, set me up with an external hard drive and showed me how to back up my photos and files so that I dont lose anything in the future. Amazing customer service, fair rates, plus he was really patient and kind with my kids! Great guy, great service, Ill definitely call him when I need help in the future:)

I first went to Alexs store to get my lab top cleaned, and when I was in the store I asked about the prices of the computers Alex was selling. They always seemed like a good deal. Then when my computer was beyond repair, I bought a new from Alex and he transferred all my data from my old computer to the new. He provides customer service which is expensive at Best buy. Alexs prices and customer service is better than any large chain store.

Alex was awesome. Did a data recovery on a crashed hard drive from my PC and got everything back in about a day! Would highly recommend to use for anything, but especially for data recovery!

I brought my mac in this evening to have an issue with my screen fixed. He cleaned out in the interior of my computer and gave me advice about updates and such, all while being super kind!!
