This is not about the Store portion of the operation, it is about the donation side of the business. This has been one of the least friendly donation centers I have experienced. We have always felt that donation was a good way to help the people serviced by Goodwill. They are training in job skills and it is a good thing to have a place to work and learn at the same time. This center strikes me as a little less accommodating than the other locations we have gone to. It always feels like we are interrupting things when we go there. During this time, the COVID era they are very restricted in what they can take, and unless you go first thing in the morning, you may well not be able to leave anything, they only have two small areas that you can donate to, and when they are full they do not take more.I get that it is important to be careful in this time. But how about a sorry, we can not take any more today, I suggest you come back early in the day, thanks for thinking of us as opposed to not taking anything now from behind a locked door? Just a thought.

Fun Goodwill! Im visiting from San Pedro so it was fun to check out a different store. Staff was very pleasant and professional with good instruction about COVID rules and then daily sales items. Lots of nice quality basics available if not the funky items Im used to finding at home.

Store is organized by color, not size. It looks aesthetically pleasing, but its way too difficult to find your size. Items are way over priced, some items had stains and were still over $10. Customer service was rude when I wanted to donate clothing. They reach daily capacity and dont take donations after a certain point

The Goodwill in La Quinta use to have a great selection of home goods, furniture and clothing at a reasonable price. Unfortunately that has all changed. Everything is ridiculously overpriced! They now sell women’s shirts up to $19.99 ...what? AND... Men’s shirts and jeans from $9.99 up to $19.99...crazy! This is called price gouging bcuz everything was donated. Goodwill needs to stop being greedy! I know this is their business and they need to be profitable but be reasonable!

I read thru the reviews before going. Sounded great. Its set up more like a boutique, and clean. Very organized by color, but not at all convenient if you are looking by size. All sizes mixed together. Similar to a Ross, but worse. Prices really high.. jeans for $19.99??? A lot of clothes with stains or holes. Many shouldnt even be out for sale. Spent way too long digging, left empty-handed. Also had to listen to a 15 minute lecture at the door before being allowed in on wearing a mask, how to wear the mask, how to distance, how to follow the arrows. Good grief. The lady at the front counter with the long blondish ponytail was obnoxious. Yelled at a guy for getting too close to another customer and made a scene. He was about 75 yrs old. NOT NECESSARY. Wont be back.

I am from Iowa, just moved here. Goodwill where I come from is cheap and kind of gross. I love thrifting, and have come here twice in two weeks. The store is VERY organized I was greeted at the door both times, very good pricing, selection, and employees. Changed my view on goodwill. Will be back!

Similar experience to other negative reviews. Loaded up my vehicle with donations, tried to drop it off and was turned away due to being “at capacity” even though their donation lobby seemed rather empty. You try to help and they aren’t willing to work with you. I will donate elsewhere.

What person in their right mind thinks doll body parts with fake blood hanging from the ceiling is appropriate Halloween decor for a store that is visited by families on a regular basis. Imagine a child seeing this? Enough horrible news stories about children - is it really in good taste to display something like this which depicts such violence against children.

I went there this morning to drop off some donations. The donation center isnt in the back of the store like it is in my hometown. So I went into the store. The clerk was helping a customer and I stood there for a few minutes before she acknowledged me. She told me drop offs are next door. The person helping with the collections, he was very nice and helpful.

This thrift store has plenty of parking close by. Its clean and well lit. Even the restrooms are well maintained--you have to ask for the key and then make the walk of shame as they announce over the PA system for a helper to unlock the restroom. Lots and lots of clothes including a big selection of mens clothing. Good selection of books but a bit overpriced. Housewares section is good and always seems to have brand new items, in the original packing at reasonable prices. Lots of artwork. Furniture selection small but prices are good.

This store definitely, is deceitful! Bought an electronic item for which they said we have 7 days to return for store credit if it malfunctions. When we took it back due to its malfunctions, they told us we had to pick something at the same time we return it for an item of the same amount to get any kind of remuneration. Before purchasing this item, I even asked the store clerk what kind of return policy they had in case the item didnt work properly. She said they would give store credit. Then I asked if I would be able to use the store credit at other Goodwill stores in the area, and she said, yes. She thought other stores in the area would accept it. Now they are saying it is Goodwill policy to use the store credit the day you return the item. That was never stated to me at the time of purchase at all! I have shopped Goodwill so much over the years and never have had such treatment in Illinois. In Illinois, they have returned the amount to my credit card. Shame on you Goodwill LaQuinta!

I believe the store has improved within the last few years it has decent items however its way over priced, I have seen target brand clothes marked up, why? The clothes are used and DONATED! They are trying to over price items so they can make a good profit off something that was given to them as charity. Their is also a rude older Hispanic lady with blonde hair.

Donations go out the same day they arrive if in good condition. So everyday there is something new. Plus there is the color of the week, which gives an extra 50% off. 👍

I read that the staff was rude, and boy did I ever experience this myself. Ive called around to local thrift shops looking for something very specific. All other shops were so kind! They either knew off hand if they had the item or happily looked. Not this store! I spoke with 2-people (including the store manager!) and they were both extremely rude! Firmly telling me they were too busy and I would need to come in myself and look. Well you can bet I WILL NOT be selecting this Goodwill, ever! Employees like this should be fired - there are many out there who are jobless and skilled at custmer service who would happily work.

Way too expensive for stuff given to you for free.I hate the color coded clothes system, meaning you have to physically search every item for sizes. What a waste of time.Id rather spend more at a department store to save hours of searching.Lots of misc items. Estate leftovers, rugs, furniture, dishes, shoes, books.Today was 50% off purple tags but left empty handed.

This store was an annual visit for a carload of friends but when I visited here this year, it appears that the quality/quantity of merchandise has diminished. When I first started coming here, it was a goldmine of stuff from household to clothes...not so much any more. And the prices have gone up too. Not sure what is up...but there are other options in the area (Angel View) where I will be visiting in the days ahead. Take a hint Goodwill...upping your prices and unfriendly staff do not a good combo make.

Review №52

This place is price gun happy. Way way overpriced recently. They think by looking on eBay is a way of pricing items. Wrong Wrong. EBay is only a haven of items people are buying and reselling, Duh from Goodwill. So my opion to everyone is that you should buy items similar from eBay for cheaper and usually will have a money back guarantee. People online have already tested and cleaned there items prior to sale is what I found out and back there items up. Goodwill will only give store credit to purchase more overpriced items and does not guarantee there merchandise. Read my Rancho Mirage review. There is one lady here at this location always thinking t-shirts with side sems are considered regular shirts and loves charging customers $5.49 and up when they should be only $2.00. Also whats with the constant price checking and taking the items back in the warehouse to reprice something for more than whats was originally tagged and on the floor. I have observed this practice over and over at this location. See if you notice it as well. All I hear over the intercom is PRICE CHECK PRICE CHECK. Goodwill must remember they are a thrift store and not a retail outlet like ROSS, MARSHALLS, or Target and stop comparing you broken and worn items with EBAY.
