I very highly recommend Economy Transmissions for a complete transmission rebuild.After buying a lemon of a truck from ELITE MOTORS in Knoxville (DONT BUY A CAR THERE!!!) the transmission went out the next day.I called Economy Transmissions and they got me in very fast, were kind and professional and had my truck transmission rebuilt within a week. I havent had any problems with it since.

They had my truck for 3-4 months. Charged me $4k to rebuild my E4OD with some upgraded heavy duty parts. When they plugged my tuner back in it somehow fried the ecm.. They said they couldnt find a new ecm for a whole month and I found one through Napa in a day, that I paid for!.. when I finally got my truck back it still slams into 3rd gear... Not impressed and wouldnt refer anyone to them. Jack is the only good thing about that place.

Jack is the greatest. I took my vehicle in for diagnostics. He found I had a transmission issue that was gonna cost me a fortune to repair. After some number moving and his genuine sincerity of me being without a vehicle, he was able to get my transmission repaired within my budget and also very quickly. Jack was very upfront and clear with what the issue was, the cost, and the timeline of repair being done. He stayed on the phone with me during each phase of the repair and kept me informed. I called this morning 8/7/19 and asked for a quote I was told bring my vehicle on down and theyd look at it immediately, and they did. I was so upset I wouldnt be able to afford my repairs but Jack reassured me theyd work with me to make sure my vehicle was fixed. He was kind and understanding. I must say I was really impressed with this place. At first I was a little sketched because of course the location. Their place was very clean and simple. The people that worked there was very polite and well spoken. I was pleased with their services and prices. I was also educated about transmissions, which I love to know what exactly is going on and i never have had my dealership give me the courtesy which this small business went above and beyond to do. Definitely will be back, as soon as I started my car and hit the gas peddle I could tell a great difference, she ran smoother. Happy customer.

These guys did an amazing job. A friend had her vehicle break down in Knoxville and was stranded. I called around to compare cost to repair her vehicle and their estimate was considerably cheaper and that was with a one year warranty on parts and labor. They sent a rollback to get her car and had the problem diagnosed that afternoon. Ended up it was not the transmission but the drive line assembly and they had the vehicle ready to go before noon the next day. The cost of the repair was half of what the Volvo dealership quoted. Vehicle is running great and she could not be happier. Excellent experience!!!!!

I’ve known Travis for years at this place and he’s always done fantastic work, but the last couple of times I’ve been here my work was done by Jack, the manager. He has done a fantastic job on my vehicle and my girlfriend’s vehicle as well, they both run like they’re brand new and I greatly appreciate the work Jack has done for us both. I took my 78 lebaron down there to have a flywheel replaced..you could hear the knock and grind pretty loud..talked to jack and was quoted a fair and more than reasonable price..i was actually surprised at how fair it was..had taken it to a few places in west knoxville that wanted to charge what economy transmission quoted to fix it..just to look at it..they got they job done..and no more knock and grind and it drives a whole lot better..they even went ahead and fixed another issue and didnt go over quoted price..they have my business from here on out..really respectful ppl there too..call over there and talk to em..ask for jack..if youre needing work done at a fair price..theyll do you right

Ive taken my car there twice for seperate issues..both times they went above and beyond and for a price thats more than fair..i will only use economy transmission for anything i need done..not only do they do great work but theyre a good bunch of guys..if you have any issues you need fixed dont hesitate to call jack and they will get you taken care of..i highly recomend them

I am very highly skeptical of virtually ALL mechanics because I know that there are TONS of them out there who are just shady people. Theres only one general mechanic (who doesnt do transmission overhauls) that I trust and thats Phibbs Automotive in Knoxville. Ive done business with them for decades. I got a good referral from Jaime Phibbs (whom I know is a very honorable man) about Economy Transmissions. Jamie told me that he grew up with Travis (the owner of Economy Transmissions) and told me that I could trust him. When I took my car to Economy Transmissions, I was very impressed with the manager, Jack who provided excellent quality customer service, explained everything clearly about the problems with my Ford E350 Cargo Van and worked in a very timely manner to get everything running in excellent condition for me. They also even charged me less than the original estimate that I received from Marshalls Transmissions whom I have heard very positive reviews about also. I will definitely do business again with Economy Transmissions!

Two repairs in less than two months, root problem still isnt resolved and car is undriveable.Wayne said and I quote Well did it drive off the lot when it was fixed? then actually said You called up here bitching.After the last repair I was told it would be another $1500. Well my car is worth only $1200 and Ive already put in well over that.Clown company with clown employees cost me more than my car worth and my car still does not run.I talked to Travis the owner about his employee speaking to me like a cussing child and he just shrugged it off. I talked to the owner about my car not getting properly fixed and the owner did not help me in any way shape or form or seem to care.I was told in so many words thanks for the money and sorry but we wont stand behind our work.My car is now towed back to my home and is still undriveable.
