Very good place. Everything is tasty and healthy. The heart of palm crab cake has a good crunchy taste from the heart of palm. The muesli is a good source of protein and fibres. The green scramble has a good portion of goat cheese inside so goes well with the toast. The carrot cake pancake is very interesting, you do taste the carrot cake lol. Drinks are overall good.
We visited Outdated, Antique Cafe on our way back from Cherry Picking in Red Hook since we really needed a cup of coffee to keep us awake.Their decor is cool and arsty with lots of vintage furniture. Its a great & cozy place to stay for a couple of hours if we had time. We had 1 Iced Latte & 1 Hot Latte and the drinks were decent & refreshing.
Very tasty food, but notably slow service. The shelves of antiques are probably meant to give the restaurant a hip vibe, but it feels old and dingy. I would come back, but only for call-ahead takeout.
Enjoy incredible pastries and lovely tea at outdated. Surrounded by beautifully curated antiques and antique chic collections you feel like you’re having breakfast in a bit of history.I found the service to be a bit gruff and was disappointed that there was no skim milk (and few milk alternatives I’ve come to expect as common like almond or oat).
Love the cafe, just wish you were open earlier and more often.
If you have bad attitude and dont want to work, why are you here? How can you be out of iced teas at 2pm?We ordered an iced chai tea latte and black iced tea. Waited 15 min n no tea. Meanwhile the only person who can brew teas or coffees is chatting with his friend n not doing any orders.I overheard him say I dont want to be here. Im on my way back to CaliforniaWhen I ask nicely where are our iced teas? He indignantly said didnt she(the cashier) tell you we r out of chai tea n it will take a long time to make... n I say what about the black ice tea .... Oh that we r out of too, n if u really want it it will take me a long time to make n then return to chat with his friend., not offering us any other solutions... and any iced teas a aialable? Only hibiscus iced tea n after 20 min we will take the 2 ice tea. And I say isnt there a price difference and though we pay cash, he wanted the cashier to do a full refund and then rering for $1 difference. And huffingly walked away.Owner: please get rid of employees who clearly dont want to be at your store
Such a cute little shop. Had a good selection of teas, and the chai I ordered was delicious. They also had a good selection of gluten free foods.
Fantastic cafe experience. Lots of gluten free options. Super cute store with antiques and local artisanal teas and chocolates etc. The Kimchi Grilled Cheese is amazing!
The ranchero tempeh is slapping! fun decor and fast service. little pricey but good portions
Tempeh Rueben was an amazing sandwich. Lots of vegan options and some nice old timey stuff to look at while you wait.
The best soup Ive ever had.
Its literally Cracker Barrel for rich vegans. The food is good tho.
Had a delicious sandwich and huevos rancheros
Total hipster paradise. With horrible service and not so nice counter help! The sugar situation for coffee is ridiculous. I literally had to use a million lumps of raw sugar to make my coffee even semi sweet. Alot of people still like their sugar loose and not in lump form! The coffee is literally nothing special! The only nice part is the decor! Place looks great except antique doesnt mean dirty and dusty. Dusting it doesnt take away from the antique look! I am a local and felt like I was treated as though I was a burden for being there! I will not be coming back here which is really sad because I love to support my local businesses but unfortunately this will not be a place that sees any of my money again!
Reflect tradition.
Excellent coffee. I usually have a coconut milk latte and a scone. The scones are freshly baked and amazing. The scones are not your common variety scones. Along with a yum cherry scones, I’ve had a scone with banana and one with mulberry. Both great. Scones can sell out by early afternoon. Oh,,, Staff is also very friendly.
They have a sign on the door that says you can only come in if you’re wearing clown shoes
Eclectic antique decor and furniture (some of which customers can buy) and great breakfast options (including vegan fare!) make this place a wonderful visit on a warm afternoon. Located on Kingstons quaint Wall Street, visitors to the town should definitely stop by for a relaxing pit stop.
Interesting little place, good hot beverages and scones.
Delicious veg Reuben and matcha latte. Been here twice and looking forward to more visits.
Tempeh Reuben was off the charts!
The pineapple-ginger juice was superb. And the coconut pancakes were delicious. The vibe is definitely outdated but in the best way possible. Service was genuine. Good vegan options, maybe more pastries in the future. Highly recommend. Also their sprinkler system looked updated :)
I really like the atmosphere of this place. If you dont like the word hipster you might not like it. You can buy any of the stuff is in display while you eat. Not the most comfortable and can get too crowded, but overall great food and vegan friendly.
I went here for the first time. The atmosphere was relaxed. The decor is artsy and unconventional. The service is fast, friendly, and professional. The food fresh and made to order. I will definitely be back again for more.
Good coffee and good food but not the best of either. About a 20 minute wait for an egg sandwich that was pretty good. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and the walls are decorated with neat antiques that are for sale. They have small vintage knick-knacks like old childrens games for sale. This is a great place to get a coffee and draw or write. Not the best place to go for breakfast, especially at their prices.
Top notch if this is your thing. Spacious and quirky with a helpful staff and nice vibe. Food was excellent. My wife and I split 3 dishes, and all were good. Also had a dessert pastry which was delicious. We walked out happy and full. Would definitely go back next time were in the area.
Large delicious bowls and good fresh juice. And an eclectic collection of antiques for sale. Including stationary, bottles, housewares etc.
I went on a first date here and had a great time! It was packed but not loud. The food is on the higher price side for a cafe but pretty tasty. I tried their beet latte and was very delighted. An interesting concept on interior design but it’s unique!
Love this cafe. Great local farm to table food. Super nice staff and owners.
*COVID UPDATE* They are open for take out Wednesdays and Saturdays - go visit and try the orange-mint iced tea! Also, if you are like me and order the same thing over and over from your favorite because its that good, do what I did yesterday and be adventurous. Maybe its the fact that just sitting outside with my food and unmasking felt risque but I was inspired to try the Tempeh Ruben instead of the beet burger which I was pining over after trying that incredible dish last week. I would not order a Tempeh Ruben anywhere else, but every dish I have ever had here is a total gustatory experience - and the Reuben held up to my HIGH standards. DO NOT get stuck in a rut here, try everything. All is phenomenal.Laid back, upscale, excellent good and service, reasonable prices. Love it. A fantastic addition to our community.
Had a nice meal here, intentionally rustic atmosphere, though the bathroom verges on being a little grungy. Didnt realize until a second look at the menu that everything is vegan/vegetarian here.Had the reuben, quite enjoyed it, even though I dont generally go for meat substitutes. Service was friendly and they were welcoming to our children and puppy.
My go to in Kingston for breakfast or lunch. Rich and interesting atmosphere, delicious menu items that are creative, scratch made in house, and perfectly spiced and balanced. From soup to eggs to housemade goodies, everything I have had here has been amazing. Love the Golden milk hot coconut and turmeric drink, and the corn taco is my favorite dish so far.A space filled with items of olde, definitely visit and plan to stay for a while. Its a great place to meet a friend or make a new one, linger, and look around at the interesting decor and somewhat creepy doll-esque items for sale.
Must stop on your trip to Kingston. Everything on the menu was great. Order the biscuits. Just do it.
This cafe is absolutely gorgeous! The staff are always so lovely and the food is great! I recently went in for a coffee and after ordering I realised I’d left my card in the car and only had 4 out of the $5 total I needed so the girl taking my order offered to pay the other $1. I know it’s little but it made my day! A little act of kindness goes a long way.
The atmosphere, the food, the coffee, the service. This is a cool unique spot in a neat and funky town. We loved that there were locally sourced ingredients and a breakfast/coffee shop menu that seemed to hit everything you wanted but they were doing it in their own way. Our breakfast sandwhich and gluten free treat were amazing, as were our house special espresso drinks. Definitely look forward to coming back as we look at moving to this area
Wonderful variety of tasty vegan choices & unique beverage options. Interesting casual dining environment where many come to relax & surf the web where your surrounded by numerous antiques (which are all for sale). Downside is that restroom is not handicapped accessible.
Cool hipster spot! Unique and amazing menu items, fantastic cold brew and all sorts of esspresso and tea drinks. Also a weird and fun variety of items from 1990s basketball cards, to toys and vintage kitchen items. Check it out!
I visited the cafe for the first time, and had a somewhat mixed experience. I stood at the counter and was asked what I would like to order in a very...bored(?) manner. I ordered a large coffee to stay, and was handed an empty mug. I have no problem pouring my own cup, but would like to have been told where the coffee is!The coffee is very good. Then I looked around at the antiques. A really interesting assortment of stuff! The prices are okay, though lots of stuff is at tourist pricing rather than real market. That said, they will haggle. Its a good place to have a cuppa and a sandwich. Ill be back.
Good food, disappointed that they did not have what was listed on their website. Was looking forward to trying their waffles. Egg sandwich was very good and gluten free toast was ec
Organic, locally sourced food. You feel good and healthy after eating a filling, full plated meal. Great spot in Kingston!
Good food, good WiFi cafe! Stopped between appointments but still needed to be connected. Outdated Breakfast included some very hearty seedy toast, eggs over easy were closer to medium but still good. Served over roasted potatoes with a side of greens. And at a reasonable cost! Got some work done too!
Lover the decor but i loved the food more! Great vegan and vegetarian options. The food was so deliecious i almost forgot how healthy it was. Excellent eatery.
Amazing food and drinks in a cute setting. Super tasty! Had the citrus smoothie which was the bomb!
Excellently unique and inventive menu with exclusively vegetarian/vegan fare. All ingredients are locally sourced and made to order. Great strong coffee thatll keep you going all day on one cup. The staff can be a little frazzled and forgetful when theyre busy, but theyre always accommodating. The shopping portion of the experience is a cool walk down memory lane, and theres always an outrageous find on any of the clothing racks in the basement.
Such a great little antique store/café. It may have leaned slightly more towards the direction of a café, but they definitely have a great inventory of unique antiques that decorate their walls and shelves. They even have a basement with more items for sale. The food was really good. It is counter service where you place your order and then bring your number to a table and they bring the food to you. Somehow they manage to have boxes of antiques as if they took a general store from yesteryear and transported the shelves to the present. I dont know how they have boxes of some products, but it is very cool that some of the antique items are still brand new in the box.
Very Bohemian, good food, excellent coffee, antiques are a little pricey but fun to look at. Great place to hang out. Be sure to try the chocolate cookies.
Great coffee in a fun and quirky cafe in uptown Kingston. The space is filled with great antiques that fit the decor and everything is also for sale! Quite busy on weekends but worth the wait.
Went there for breakfast. Food was excellent although they served my double espresso in a metal cup. That was kinda gross. Also it’s full of hipsters who take themselves way to seriously. Seems to be the theme in that part of Kingston. I’d go back again though.
Quirky & comfortable. Odd & wonderful. Great breakfast/brunch fare. Cool antiques. A bit pricey, but worth it.
I dont normally give reviews but had to here...this is simply an adorable place! We love it. Food is great, hospitality is amazing, atmosphere is stunning. We are coming here again tomorrow!!! 😀
I’ve had many a lovely breakfast in this quirky coffee shop. Actually, they make my favorite gluten-free scone; it’s light and totally delicious.
Great atmosphere and lovely people but disappointed they only had sunflower seed milk or coconut milk as alternatives
Great selection of vintage Knick knacks for sale. Be sure to check out the vintage clothes downstairs. Delicious sandwiches and coffee too.
Great cafe in Kingston with a great variety of baked goods and breakfasts that accommodate folks with special diets, including wheat and dairy free pancakes, but milks made on site, and gluten free cookies. Their maple lattes are a particular favorite of mine.
Scones are spectacular. Great breakfast joint, all the food was solid to great. Food comes quickly, drinks are self-serve so even faster. Win.
Totally cool space to hang, chill vibe, great coffee, homemade baked treats & light meals. Plus the furniture is for sale, along with all sorts of quirky, wonderfully-curated antiques. Tarah & Gabe are good folk. A really special place.
Fun. The food is good. I think the lighting should be improved however. And the staff need to cheer up a little.
Very tasty with a lot of vegetarian options! Good place if you need somewhere to do some work on a laptop. Lots of seating
Ive been coming here for some time and love love love it! Its the home away from home nostalgic, so comfortable. The combination of antiques and food,is wonderful. The furniture gets changed around, kitchen tables, library tables and chairs, couches with coffee tables, lots to look at while you drink your cappuccino breve (my favorite drink of choice) and feast on their scones, which are utterly amazing and the best anywhere. In fact, all the meals I have had have been delicious. They use the best ingredients. Outdated has given community to uptown KIngston and is worth any long distance drive it may take to get there. The atmosphere is relaxed, a great place to chat, read, write, use a laptop and stay. I give Outdated my highest rating.
A favorite Saturday morning meet up with the gang! Best scones in town.
Great cafe. For a unique dining experience, try this place. Great eclectic interior design.
Cool place, unique decor, lots of cool stuff to look at, most of it is for sale as well. Good sandwiches and coffee. Great place for a working lunch.
The food was good, on the pricey side. Eclectic
Cool place, great food! Service? Angry...
Quaint coffee shop, reminiscent of an old country store know for their scones, good cold brew, cookies and brownies
I feel terrible writing this because it is the sort of cafe everyone wants to love. The ambiance and location are great, the people working there are great, but after my third try yesterday, I just have to warn anyone with a palate not to try it. It is as if the chef there has never eaten a good meal before. The food combinations, dressings, general taste is bland at best and often just bad. Such a bummer. And it is a bad poster child for vegan food. The coffee is fine. SORRY! Get a chef with taste buds and I will change my review.
Lovely vegetarian cafe surrounded by antiques and thrift items.
Amazing coffee and their sandwiches are amazing!! love the atmosphere !!!! and the owners and staff are extremely wonderful and helpful! overall amazing cafe/restaurant/coffee shop
We really enjoyed the food here. The toast with romesco and grilled tomato, a beet coconut latte, and the cheddar jalapeno egg sandwich were excellent!
Great breakfast & lunch. Excellent coffee drinks. Fun antiques.
The above poster who said they ordered a coffee & were handed an empty mug pretty much sums it up.A friend insisted on going here because it is so cute.Upon walking in I felt it was more of a you are lucky to be here in our Brooklyn poser style coffee house where we charge youover 3 dollars for miniature, less than a bite cookies.Cant help but resent this new Kingston model of well charge you more for less bc you should feel like we are so hip.Pretentious & overrated.
The idea of this place is really cool, all the fun antiques for sale is very unique. For breakfast, it could’ve been much better, fairly small portions which is disappointing for a breakfast place.
Best cup of coffee. mexican birch blend. sconut is a leveraged takeover of a donut by a scone. they put enough butter in it to feed all of wales for a weekend. its righteous. the owners are real great. not much bacon served with your eggs, vegan friendly.
Great food, great atmosphere, but be prepared for a bit of a wait (especially at peak times). Worth it though!
Good food, great rustic atmosphere, friendly service.
This is a genuinely interesting place that caters well to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Great coffee and pragmatic antiques and vintage.
I entered this rustic establishment to find a disgruntled employee slruping the last of the soy milk! He then rudly took my order and tried to sell me a 20 dollar vintage pencil, which I have reason to believe is just a regular pencil dipped in coffee and left in a moldy room for 3 months. Good business model, see you soon
Great Coffee. Cool vibe. Amazing vegan options
Amazing food, vegetarian or not great coffee, cold and hot.service is on point!I like to ask a lot of questions about what Im eating and even in a busy kitchen, someone took the time to crack out the recipe book and tell me what I wanted to know!love this place!
Awesome cafe. Plenty of GF options and great tea. My only hope is that they get a separate hot plate or sandwich press for their GF bread to avoid cross contamination - then I would be a happy coeliac/celiac. ❤️
Ambiance, food and service were amazing
Outdated does it right. Excellent and creative homemade hot food and baked goods, amazing selection of vintage American antiques for perusing and purchasing, philosophical bathroom scriptures, friendly service, and great decor. Check out the record collection downstairs and the sconuts! Best vedge food on the Hudson!
Service could be faster, but the food is good. Options here skew towards natural and vegan.
Great avocado basil sandwich, and nice, quiet café environment.
Had a delicious cup of tea.... The outlook of the shop is unique # =antique
NOT A CAFE. Over priced coffee and pastries and bad wifi. But the food is tasty and well priced. If youre in your mid-thirties or older, wealthy, and buy into hipster aesthetics then this is your spot. There is an antique bike hanging from the ceiling.
Great atmosphere and great food. A little expensive though.
Great coffee and even greater atmosphere. Easy to get lost in nostalgia with the bookshelf full of baseball cards and other relics from a bygone era.
Dodos are not extinct! They still live and work at Outdated; how fitting. They ignore you and bump into you while serving tasty food, coffee and tunes. Inside is a fun mess; I think its also a store. Dodos are not cute but theyre harmless; still, dont be hangry when you come in because youll want to make them extinct.
I like going here for the decor, but the coffee is only OK. Its served very nicely, though. Its a great place to work at.
