We visited the restaurant for lunch. It was quite busy, featured local offerings and fresh seafood. We sat outside at a picnic table under cover so was a little dark, but it provided relief from the blazing sun. It was cool enough to be comfortable as there was some air flow. Our server took good care of us despite being quite busy. Appeared to be a locals hangout. We were not terribly hungry so I got salad(was good) and hubby got lobster bisque which he was quite happy with. Our food came rather quickly and we were satisfied with the entire experience including the visit from a chicken.

This place is fine if you’re looking for a fishing t-shirt, but otherwise was useless, and a really poor representation of customer service West Marine provides as a whole. I came in needing some caulking, but the guy at the desk in the back was terribly unfriendly (maybe I looked like a tourist?) had absolutely ZERO interest in helping me find or order what I wanted. He said he’d never heard of Sika Flex, nor could he order any, because it wasn’t in his system. Well, it’s on your website, genius, so maybe this location should hire industry professionals who know their materials instead of people who don’t want to take an extra 10 seconds to help the customer. If you need any actual boat products, you’re not gonna find them here, you’re going to need to order them anyway, so I’ll suggest Jamestown Distributors to save you the headache.

Beautiful store but horrible costumer service i have visit this store in multiple occasions meaning different times and have ask to used the restroom and its been out of order or they say they are cleaning it. Those are some of the response I get from the store associates!!! Every time I visit this particular store I drive over 30 miles to get to the store and I sometimes need to use the restroom is not fair that I spend money in the store and have to visit some other businesss around the area to use their restroom. Using a restroom is not a lexury is a necessity and all costumers should have access to.

Marissa was helpful and informative. Led us to the gunnels-cleaning solvent we needed. Stuff worked great. She’s a keeper.

Cool place to hang out and have cocktails

I had a very good experience today. I went to buy a new auto inflate life jacket, a rearming kit for my current life jacket, and a new rain jacket. I didnt find the rain jacket I wanted but I had great service while I tried on jacket after jacket. When they didnt have the one I wanted they looked up the closest store that had it in stock. In their defense, its been cold and pouring rain recently AND there was a huge fishing tournament that they said wiped out a lot of their stock. My timing wasnt great.I had never rearmed a life jacket but they did it for me in the store and did a great job showing me how all the components worked. HUGE thanks for that!I bought another brand new inflatable jacket. However, when I got back to the boat I realized that there was no C02 cartridge or owners manual. While thats a huge bummer, I REALLY wasnt looking forward to getting the shuttle back down there from Stock Island (I dont have a car here). Thankfully, they are sending a new jacket to the West Marine here on Stock Island so that its a short walk. While I was disappointed that the C02 cartridge was missing I really appreciate their efforts to make it right.So, if youre buying a new life jacket, be sure to check that all the components are there before you leave the store. Its sad that people shoplift them.

Dont bother buying anything at west marine. Overpriced and they wont stand behind their branded products. I bought a $50 manual bilge pump that lasted a few months and was told theres no warranty. Biy from anywhere else, pay half the price and then you can warranty it out yourself

Devon and Tom were both sincerely helpful. Devon went well above our expectations of good customer service, especially with his product knowledge. Tom spent far more time with me while assembling the dinghy and launching it since we are newer to the marine world. Felt prepared and better educated on many things when I left the dock. Headed back today to pick us some essentials, dry bag etc...

Got there with two grand kids and not a clue what to get them so they could fish. Literally 5 minutes later I was out the door with everything I needed thanks to a very kind and attentive employee that picked the items for me. Grateful!

Staff was very friendly and informative though if you aren’t planning on spending a good amount of money for a good quality product them it isn’t the place for you.

A traditional West Marine store but feels smaller than the mainland counterparts. Although it is well stocked with good staff.That said I try to use Cubanitos across the street and West about a block and a half. They are locals and genuinely care care about your needs. And they know know more about boats than anywhere else on the island...

We are in town from Texas visiting a few friends so we all bought shirts for a boat day to protect us from the sun. The store was nice and clean but at the check out the cashier was extremely rude. My husband and I spent 100 for 2 shirts, our friends spent about 160 for 2 shirts a pair of shorts and a hat. We all said thank you tried to engage her in conversation. She didnt say thank you to a single one of us was not polite at all. Terrible for a nice place to have someone so rude ending the shopping experience. I will not go back in that store. Her name was jaelyn this was on july 1st 2020 at 10am. Managers should look into this.

Not very busy. Plenty of personnel to help find stuff.Its a shame we dont have us factories producing all the goods we want.

West Marine has come a long way with match price program on products from legitimate business found on line to make customers happy. With that said the store in Key West will not honor that program. I found the exact same item on line and was told by one of the store assistants to just order it online from the other vendor instead. They took the item from my hands and wished me a good day. So that is exactly what I did with free shipping and saved %50 on the cost. FYI the item I attempted to purchase originally from the store in Key West is still in the store, hanging out not sold at the high price.

Most employees were polite and helpful. The cashier was very nice and asked if I found everything. I explained that I had not so she asked about it. There were a few employees roaming around that didnt offer anything, not even a hello. The biggest drawback is having to pay for parking. It is a substantial store so they do have a really good selection of items.

Dont bother to call and have them check stock, they put you on hold and park you and leave you there, made several calls to check in store availability on a part their website says to call and check, very frustrating.

Fantastic shop. I brought my 2 boys here to get line put on their reel. We arrived at 4:40pm and they closed at 5pm. The guy helping us (Russell i think) stayed until 5:20pm and never made us feel rushed. Patiently found the right weight of line and helped us find the right stuff to fish.Then on the way out, my son broke off the tip of his rod when he accidemtly slammed it into the car trunk! Ugh! I thought it was a lost cause, but we brought it back the next day. I was thinking we needed to buy a replacement rod and take the reel off and transfer it, but he was able to fix it! And didnt even charge us. Amazing customer service. Also free parking in the lot next door.We will likely be in the Keys once a year to visit grandma, and this will be one of our first stops!

Excellent service from Mike and the crew at this shop, Mike helped us diagnose a battery issue on our boat, even lending us a tool. Yes, prices are always a little higher at WM, but when stores provide this level of customer service, it is worth it!

Good selection, nicer staff than some West Marines. Just have to watch the prices on certain items. Sometimes you get good value, other times its like getting robbed. Much better than the Stock Island store in my opinion.

Visited the keys with friends. We stopped in here one morning for breakfast because it was nearby. The service was honestly so great, and the staff was so friendly, that we came back for breakfast ever morning after. The food is great and not overpriced at all. Love this place.

THERE IS FREE parking for west marine 1/2 block down towards harbor n parking garage. Go down n directly to left theres 12 free spots!!

Sunday, May 26th I gave a call to the store inquiring about a boat and the ordering process. The associate was very informative, looked up the boat and informed me it would take a week to get in and would arrive the following Friday.Being Sunday I was unable to get to the store in time that evening to order so the following morning, Monday the 27th I arrived to place the order.At this time I was told that the boat was going to take a bit longer to arrive than usual.but should arrive either Friday or Monday at the latest.Skip to Saturday the 4th. I call the store around 2 pm to inquire if the shipment has arrived and I can pick it up or if I should expect it Monday and I am served by a rude associate who claims there are only two of us on the floor I ask if its something I can look up online and am told no.... I am baffled that I had to ask well how should I go about finding this information. Reluctantly I convinced this associate to give me a call back with the info when he had a moment. I never received a call back until Monday.Monday June 6th my call is returned by the manager George. George apologizes for the delay in the boat and explains that it will arrive Tuesday the 11th and he will call when it arrives. I let him know that is a problem and that I just need it for the weekend as Im leaving on a trip and require it. George offers a refund if necessary.At this point my trust in this outfits ability to deliver is deminishing. I setup a backup plan. I source another dinghy from Miami and prepare to pay the additional $1000 that it will cost for the other boat and the freight.Tuesday I received a call from George stating that the boat would definitely be arriving in the next few days. today or tomorrow were the words used. I decide to forgo my plan b and wait for the boat to arrive.Wednesday comes and I am told that the boat is on a truck and will not arrive until Tuesday the 11th. This date is well after the date I required delivery by and we both know it. I am busy and upset. Not being one to be confrontational over the phone I reply thats a problem, I dont have time for this and I will call you back.Now my guest is flying in to town and we will be without a working dinghy due to not my lack of planning but my over trust of the largest marine retailer.It is now Tuesday the 11th. Today is the 5th promised delivery date that I have waited for. I have just checked the tracking for the freight company I was provided by the online customer service. No surprise the dinghy is still in Miami. Im willing to wager that it will not be arriving today either.Let me be very clear. I am not leaving a one star review based on West Marine taking two or three weeks to deliver a dinghy to Key West. That is understandable. This review is one star due to being dragged along with failed promise times based on speculation or outright lies. Had I been told on day one or even on the first promised delivery date that this endeavor would take this long I would have moved to my plan B and purchased this elsewhere. Instead the delivery date has been missed multiple times and each time I am given another empty promise. I have lost all faith in the word of this outfit.Edit: 6/11/19I call the store for an updated pickup time and to speak to George again. He informs me that today is still the arrival day and he will call me as soon as it arrives. It never arrived or I still have not received a phone call notifying me.

Really great marine supply store. They have virtually everything. Prices are not cheap, but the products are high quality, ayatollah is knowledgeable, warrantee protection plan is really good.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The store hours though are terrible. You would think on an island of thousands of boats they would be open all weekend. They are not. They are only open until 2pm Saturdays and closed on Sundays! Its absurd.

Love it/hate it. Sometimes you have to go there. Pricing is not competitive but most know that before walking in. It is what it is. Cubanitos has much of the same stuff for significantly cheaper. Of if youre not in a rush order online from someone that wont gouge you.

I went to shop for a new Garmin chartplotter, i told the salesman I want a 10 in unit. He told me Garmin does not make a 10in screen anymore, he showed me a 9 inch and a 12in. I want home and did some research and found that Garmin made several 10in screens. Their staff needs to be more educated or at least more truthfully he was trying to sell me what they have in stock. I wound up buying a unit off of Amazon

The worst place to go for anything, went in for a prop nut to replace my old one and they sold me the wrong one, refused a refund, service was terrible, went to Murrays marine and got the one I needed the first time, last time I will ever step foot in tbis place, I recomend going the distance and going to Murrays marine in stock island,
