The prerequisite to work here is to not give a darn. Ive been here several times and each time Ive gone the employees were equally unhelpful. It seems that they are in competition with each other to avoid coming up with solutions. You can save your time by taking this advice straight from the mouths of thier employees, Nope, we dont have it. You can go online and see if you can order it. Trust me when I say, the majority of what they do have can also be bought online and Amazon will be less expensive and it will arrive in less time. So, having a brick mortar shop is useless when its employees are there to send you online to shop. Its ridiculous. Very disappointed.

This place was amazing. We went there for my soon to be middle school son who will be taking guitar when classes start. I told Missy (spelled correctly?) what my budget was. She was knowledgeable, kind, and patient—everything you want in a salesperson. We had a great experience and bought everything we wanted without breaking the budget. Everyone there, as a matter of fact, was helpful, but she was the one who truly worked with us.

Very helpful and nice. Ibe never seen such a massive variety of guitar strings, so I wanted to try some new strings the ones Id been using were dead and were always rough on everyones fingers, but one of the employees suggested one of the Martins after I explained the light ones had a buzz like sound and I didnt like. And I took his work on the medium custom strings and Im telling you I share they tune better and almost instantly theyre durable but soft on your fingers and they are the best strings Ive ever used definitely love this store and staff they know what theyre talking about

I had $4,000 in cash to spend on some gear. Walked in the door to Guitar Center and they asked me to put on a mask. I asked Why? They had no good answer. I gave them the appropriate salute and left the store. Over the years Ive spend many thousands of dollars at Guitar Center. Never again will I spend even a penny in that place. What a horrible and subversive organization.

Normally when we go in a team member quickly approaches my son and I and asks us what they can help us with and they help us get what we need and we get out. Today different story. One particular employee didn’t listen at all and also over charged us for my sons amp and when I went back in he insisted it was right. When the manager looked he said I was indeed over charged and apologized. The employee who wouldn’t listen to my son and also tried to over charge us was all over the place and wouldn’t listen. Again normally our experiences are great. Not sure what went wrong with them today

I am completely blown away. I have bought numerous strings,accessories, and gear from G.C. Over the years. I visited the Kennesaw location, looking for a new Martin or Taylor. I was approached by an associate and he walked me to the Acoustic room. The manager was behind the counter with another young man and never acknowledged my presence. The young man showed me a VERY slim selection, and tried to sell me a Breedlove after I told him I had one and was looking for a Martin or Tayler. After that, he walked out saying, “ if you want to play one of those I have to get my manager.” OF COURSE I WANT TO!! I told you I was looking for a Martin or Taylor.!!!! So, I walked if of the acoustic room, and found him behind a set of drums with the other young man. After I stood there again without acknowledgement, I asked to play a Martin. The manager replied yes, and got up seemed aggravated. He unlocked 2 Martin’s. No questions, no concern as to answer any questions I had. I asked about the differences between Martin and Taylor’s wood, he responded, “ I’m a drummer, let me get my guitar guy.” Seemed to be desperate to get back to his drum jam session.Gets better..A young kid comes in, starts fixing the tags, says nothing. So, I ask a few questions to see what he knows, benefit of the doubt. After trying to get some help, we left. Walked around to see if the manager would say anything, then walked out. No one spoke. So, today, I purchased a Martin from Ken Stanton spending $1400+.Guitar Center, you lost my business. Due to, lack of management, and competent staff.

The Kennesaw Guitar Center 🎸 is hands down the best one in the area. 6 weeks ago they only had 3 of the 4 speakers I needed, found the 4th one in Marietta, let me pay for all 4 at once, and made sure the other store had the 4th waiting when I arrived.Last week I ordered an expensive cardioid microphone online and it was on backorder. These guys canceled the other item and sold me a comparable one from their inventory so I could record the same day.If you need something from Guitar Center and can tolerate the drive, just go straight to the Kennesaw store. You wont be mad you did.

I spent about 45 minutes at this location this morning, and was never acknowledged or greeted by staff. Not once.The store wasnt busy at all. I saw three or four other customers the whole time I was there. I literally never saw an employee.Another customer came over and asked me for help with keyboards. He knew I wasnt an employee, said I just seemed knowledgeable. Sales staff didnt notice or care that I was doing their job for them.Credit where due: they actually had a decent selection, which was great for being able to check out the touch and feel, and compare different options.But I cant get over how disinterested the sales staff were. I went prepared to drop hundreds of dollars on a midi controller. They clearly didnt care about actually getting money from me today. So Ill be buying from a locally owned store that will appreciate the revenue.

I moved away from this area about 4 years ago, and had no idea that they had torn out this wooded area and made this shopping complex. But this Guitar Center is actually really nice. From outside it looks like its going to be tiny, but it has a little bit of everything and has a pretty nice setup.

The go to place if you need an overpriced cable for a gig but unfortunately at this location thats about it.Guitar Center was once the place to go for knowledgeable professionals to help with technical questions and great reccomendations on gear. Lately its a rarity to find anyone that has any clue how anything in the store works and almost any specific item Im looking for I get a half hearted, I can order it online for ya. I was willing to pay too much for something to have it now, not wait 3 to 5 business days.Its worth the drive to the Marietta or Atlanta store for better service and more knowledgeable staff.

Went to Ken Stanton which is right down the street but they quoted us $200 something for this guitar string repair plus were going to have to ship it off... so we went to Guitar Center to see what they said... $40 something and about an hour later it was fixed! These guys know their stuff!!

BUYER BEWARE!THIS STORE DOES NOT TEST THIER USED GEAR BEFORE THEY SHIP OUT FOR DELIVERY!!!So as a long time Guitar Center customer I thought Id order online while in the market for some good condition used studio monitor speakers. What a mistake!This store advertised a pair of great condition, like new perfectly working and tested used pair of M-Audio Studiophile BX8s.I was stoked at first to receive them when they showed up in a pretty timely fashion but I was soon disappointed once I opened the package and plugged up.Not only did one of the speakers have more cosmetic wear than depicted in the advertised photo but... IT PRODUCED NO SOUND! The monitor turned on as indicated by the blue led light but no sound AT ALL!The other monitor was cosmetically in fantastic condition, turned on, had sound but... THE WOOFER WAS CRAZY DISTORTED AND UNLISTENABLE, COMPLETELY DONE FOR! Definitely on its last leg.I was extremely disappointed. I felt hustled and lied too. Totally not as advertised AT ALL.When I called the store and told them about the issue they totally confirmed that at their particular location they supposedly only test used gear before they buy it AND NEVER TEST BEFORE THEY SHIP OUT TO CUSTOMERS WHO BUY ONLINE.THE WORST.I will be returning these junk pile Speakers to my local Guitar Center first thing tomorrow for a full refund.

The staff is not very energetic or engaging, I was ready to buy a Taylor 12 string, had the money in my pocket and they had the very model that I wanted. They never took the time to get it off the wall and let me try it out. I got the guitar at a local competitor.I had to give these guys a second chance and this time around they went out of there way to be friendly and I ended up buying a Martin guitar at a fantastic price. Cudos to whoever has transitioned this store, it has a totally different vibe now. FANTASTIC

Been going to guitar center for over 20 years. Its basically the same except for one glaring change. All the expensive guitars (about $600 or so up) are locked into their wall hangers. Sure you can get an associate to get one for you and then sit there awkwardly while they watch you, but who wants to deal with that? Musicians are insecure enough already.Heres the thing- guitar sales are in the dumpster. Even companies like Gibson are going bankrupt. You know what else is in the dumpster? Brick and mortar retail.So wouldnt it be in the best interest of guitar center to afford the opportunity that I had as a kid to feel and hear the magic of a high end instrument to the next generation? It was so exciting to spend 30 minutes or an hour with the handiwork of a master craftsman, to fall in love with it, and know that one day Im going to buy this.As an adult with discretionary income, when I buy a guitar, I shop online and figure out what I want before I ever step foot in a store. Just like every other adult with discretionary income. In other words, a room full of guitars is not for the person thats ready to drop 5 grand on a guitar today. Its for the kids.What made guitar center so great was the access that everyone had to come in and experience the differences in character and tone and feel of various guitars and to figure out what worked for them. What moved them. Revoking that access just seems like a shot in the foot of a seemingly doomed business. And for what? Are people in Kennesaw really grabbing guitars and bolting for the door? Is it to prevent minor surface damage? If I buy a guitar Im getting a brand new one from the back, not the floor model...I brought my son here to try to impart the excitement and wonder that I found in a guitar center as a kid, but was met with the quietly adversarial restraints of an business that doesnt seem to understand the importance that playing the long game has to its survival.Two stars instead of one because nobody hassled me to buy anything.

Staff liked to stand in the middle of the store and chat with each other. Didnt receive a welcome or a goodbye. Played a 1700 tele was never asked how I liked it or if wanted to try anything else. I couldnt even get an employee to help me put the guitar back on the wall.

I will start my review by saying that the customer service representatives that I have encountered at this store have all been incredibly helpful and kind. My issue is with my last two attempts to buy used gear from different stores and have it shipped to this location for local pick up. A few months ago I attempted to purchase a Gallien Krueger bass amp that was listed used at a different location and have them ship it to this store. I came into this location and paid at the counter so that they could transfer the funds to the appropriate store so that it could be reserved and shipped to my location. Upon paying for it, I was informed by a member of the staff that I would have my amp within a few business days, give or take for shipping. What actually happened was nearly a month of me having to call both this location and the location that had the amp on a near daily basis for updates on where my amp was. I was told multiple times that the funds were not properly transferred between the stores, I was also told on at least 3 separate occasions that the amp had already been shipped, only to be told the next day that the Kennesaw store STILL hadnt transferred my money properly and that the amp was still sitting in Michigan. I also lost count of the amount of times I was given the phrase Let me look into that and call you back only to never receive a call back, it must have happened at least 6 different times. So after this experience I was skeptical of buying used gear through guitar center, but I recently found a great deal on a used Legator Ninja 7 through a different store and decided to give them another chance, so I purchased the guitar online and set the shipping preference to be delivered to the Kennesaw location. I went in to pick up the guitar and it turned out that it had not been packaged properly and the finish had been damaged in shipping. There was about an inch wide crack in the paint near the corner of the top hip with about a quarter inch of exposed wood. Now clearly I cannot blame the Kennesaw store for the damage, it was clearly an issue with it not being packaged correctly by the store who sold it, but this blemish was still a pretty big deal for me. They offered to either give me the guitar for $50 off + a refund of the cost of shipping, but I did not want a damaged guitar and the discount was not nearly enough to cover what it would cost to have it professionally refinished, so opted for a full refund. I left the store feeling annoyed at the situation, but not upset at the store. What upset me is seeing that they relisted that same guitar back on the website the next day at the exact same price that I paid for it, using the old pictures that do not show the damage, and putting nothing in the description about the damage at all. Its shady and dishonest and leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and from now on I have zero interest in buying used equipment through Guitar Center ever again.

As long as you dont mind waiting on the staff to finish their conversation about video games before seeing to anything you need. Also if you just bought a guitar or had one serviced, if it is behind the counter, it will most likely be picked up and played (badly) by a bored employee. I wish that some consideration by corporate for a self serve kiosk in there would be nice as the employees seem to be annoyed when asked to do their job.
