Recently renovated interior, and WOW its a huge difference. Everything is easy to find and the knowledge base is outstanding. If they dont have it, theyll get it. If you are hunting back issues or run completers always check here first. If you are looking for vintage comics of golden/silver age---look no further. If you stopped in before, you need to stop in again and see the sheer awesomeness they have created together.

Ive been there a few times and the guy thats there most the time is legit You call him for something they dont have, he will give you other stores and numbers to call that might have what ya want. I wish the dude with long hair was a buddy so I could join him on the adventures he obviously has haha. Evertime Im here I wish I could be part of the experience thats going on after I leave.

Great local store with wonderful staff and a welcoming feel. A slightly smaller collection but very helpful ordering things in as needed. Also when I had my kids with me, they were very engaging with them and helped them pick some storylines that might interest them. I appreciated that engagement!

Smaller store than my childhood, but still packed full of fellowship for the print. Customer service was great. He thumbed through boxes checking for something old I had been hunting, very helpful. I plan on making visiting a habit. Definitely recommend.

I discovered this place after my day trip exploring Johnson City. They have a great selection of comics both old and new along with some great toys and collectables. The staff were also really friendly. I will deffinatly be going back here sometime soon.

The new location looks great and allows them to showcase even more of their awesome stock. This is the place to go in Johnson City if you love Comics and related collectibles. Its well lit, clean, and the owners/staff are helpful and will not harass you, and there is no minimum purchase amount. Back issues are easy enough to sort through and find what you like, they will have a game room soon, and they stock all of the most popular new releases and collected volumes. They also support local artists, authors and podcasters by providing them space to work, sell and advertise their products. There is a kids corner so you can browse while the kids enjoy their own books. Its the ultimate shop in business for over 30 years, a great place to start if you are new to Comics and the place to go if you need to move your established pull-list. Dont forget to visit their Bristol location as well!

This is my goto comic shop in the area. All of the staff here is amazing. Derek is especially knowledgeable and just one of the most fun people to chat with. Back issues arent always the most organized, but I love that about it. I enjoy digging through boxes.

This is a great place. The people are friendly and always willing to help out, an old guy trying to get back into reading comics. Never any BS and Derek takes the time to call or text when my stuff comes in. In the age of Amazon, this personal service is what keeps me spending my money local....please check these folks out and keep a cool local store going...

I love Mountain Empire Comics! The first time I walked in, I felt welcome and comfortable! There is a great selection, no matter what you are looking for! The prices are great and the people are better! All of the comics are in great condition! I highly recommend it!

Derek is outstanding. I found out IDW was coming out with a new Transformers series. He looked and they weren’t carrying it but ordered it just for me as a subscriber! Love going here!

Ive been visiting Mountain Empire Comics for over 20 years and have bought hundreds of books from there. John is an outstanding guy and very helpful. I wont buy comics from anybody else...period. When you go to MEC, John makes you feel like youre part of the family. I still remember the first book I ever bought from there over 20 years ago. MEC is where I bought my first comic book and its where Ill by my last.

Staff was unhelpful, lady behind the counter was short with me and overall had an angry demeanor.

Great comic store, however it’s not the same now that John isnt in the shop anymore. Don’t really care for the people running for John at this moment, they’re fine I guess but it’s not the same and I look forward getting my comics there just not the company.

John and the staff are the most personable, helpful, and knowledgeable comic book people that I have encountered. This store is easily my primary comic book store, and I highly recommend it to any comic book collector.
