Best bike shop. Trustworthy, friendly and knowledgeable! I got a really nice 29er here last year and couldnt be more happy with the miles logged. Every time the bike needs some TLC, I know where to bring it.

Folks at this shop are incredibly friendly and helpful! My personal bike blew a tire while I was picking up a rental for my granddaughter. The owner fixed it quickly and showed me the problem. Great service!!

Great place. My wife and I rented a couple of ebikes for the trail. I had a minor issue with mine half way through. The issue was beyond their control. I gave them a call and they came right out to assist us. We would definitely rent from them again. Very friendly.

Service was great. I rented a bike and a trailer to pull my toddler. They were very helpful in setting it up. I loved it so much I came back and got a bike and two racks for both my suv and car. I would have also got a burley trailer as well but they didn’t have any in stock. Highly recommend for renting or buying a bike.

Looking for a new bicycle? I live in Knoxville and drove to Local Motion Cyclery to see their Norcos. Ms. Brandi greeted me with a pleasant Hello and we started chatting immediately. Her down-to-earth personality is unlike other Bike Shop employees and she was very knowledgeable about the brands sold in the shop. After a 25 minutes of talking, looking at handle bar degree angles, and laughing, we agreed Local Motion didnt have a specific style of bike I was looking for. Yet she professionally referred me to another local bike shop. Now thats awesome! After visits to 2 other shops, I left Johnson City not finding what I was looking for. But I will remember Brandi, her great salemanship, and Local Motion Cyclery. I encourage anyone looking for a bicycle to stop here first.

I just rented two bicycles and a pull behind. We did not have helmets.. No worries, it is included in the rental. The two employees that were working were beyond helpful. The bikes were awesome and we had a great time. The customer service could not have been better. These guys are the best! We will definitely be back.

My husband, son and I rented bikes to ride the Tweetsie trail and we wanted to test ebikes. The ebikes were amazing and in great condition. The rental also included helmets. They would have made the trail a breeze if we had known we were not going to run out of battery. When we asked the young man in the shop if the bike battery would make it through the entire trip he said he would save it for the trip back so we didn’t run out. My husband did not use his electric on the way to elizabethton and had a miserable time after about the 8th mile. He didn’t make it to the end of the trail. Turns out we would have had plenty of battery life, especially if were were told we could go over 100 miles on eco mode (which we learned after I asked someone else in the shop when we got back). He was very unhappy after paying so much to rent an ebike, knowing he could have used it the whole way and had a great time. This seems to be a great business but they need to educate customers better.

Just got back from a great 2 hour ride on the Tweetsie Trail. Were so glad we chose Local Motion to rent our e-bikes (electronic assist). The bikes were in great condition and Randi made sure that out seat heights and air pressure was perfect before we left. Actually, Randi provided really exceptional customer service. Great smile, great attitude, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Local Motion.

The staff was professional and informative. I rented a ORBEA 29er full suspension mountain bike for a day at rocky fork state park. The bike performed flawlessly. The rental process was super-quick and easy; I was able to complete the entire process quickly in-store. Local Motion has an excellent selection of high-end bikes, with some new (new to me, at least) brands that I was happy to discover while at the store.

Nice store front. Friendly staff. Great location. You can tell these guys are new to the business end but are bike riders. They don’t try selling you things you don’t want or need. Overall happy with my experience.

Rented bikes here today. They had a pull behind for our 6 yo. It was a little kids bike attached to my hubbys and let our son ride the trail but not struggle. LOTS of different bikes to rent. We did over 10 miles - it was tons of fun and very easy. The tweetsie trail was surprisingly well maintained. Good prices and very good service. We will be back!!
