Soundroom installed my home theater in 2005 and has upgraded it twice since (last upgrade was to 4K). I have found them professional, knowledgeable, dependable, and responsive. I would highly recommend them.
I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my entire life. I am on the hunt for a home theater system for my husband as he is very ill and this is a very important holiday season for us. The online hours clearly state that the business is open until 4 p.m. on Saturdays so I ventured out with my husband to look at options. Upon arrival we met Ben who was extremely rude to me and my husband and was refusing to let us in because he advised that appointments are required on Saturdays after 2... Note.. the time was 1:45 (I made point of the hours posted online). After I expressed that my husband is in a wheelchair and we rarely get out of the house he reluctantly and with much complaint about how he can’t fix the hours online and it’s not his problem, agreed to allow us to only stay a few minutes. He advised he did not have time for questions or discussion. After he unlocked the door he then proceeded to complain about moving a small side table to accomdate my husband’s disabilitiy (even though it’s not my husband’s fault he is in a wheelchair). At this point I was very frustrated but for my husband’s benefit I managed to stay so we could view the theater set up. During this time, of a short 3 minute demo because Ben said he needed to get home to watch UT play, Ben “President” insulted my husband, when I asked a question regarding some information I researched online Ben said, I quote “Listen to yourself that is the stupidest question anyone could ask”, refused to give us literature to review on the products so we could make an informed decision as the consumer, and made me feel as though my business was not as valuable as he continually bragged about his customers that bring more value to his time with their larger high end purchases... they are millionaires and buy equipment 60k plus.I am completely and utterly taken back at the lack of professionalism, lack of compassion, and the desrcimnination we faced at the sound room on state of Franklin in Johnson City. I will never buy from this company and I surely will not recommend anyone to visit this business as it’s poor service and Ben’s unprofessional attitude is highly unacceptable.
First and foremost. Ben is the most opinion pushing, brand specific, glorified salesman I’ve ever interacted with. We’ve made multiple stops in the Johnson City Sound Room locations and each one is worse than the time before. We come looking for quality sound equipment, we have the means to purchase and the ears to recognize, but unfortunally Bens degrading attitude has turned us away for the last time. He made us feel inferior for having interrupted his “2:00PM Saturday Closing Hours” even though the website plainly states 4:00PM. My best advice would be to update your attitude and update your advertised hours.
