I came into Sephora to browse some holiday sets and smell some new fragrances and was approached by one of the sale associates, a male with curly hair and blue shadow if I needed help very nicely actually which I declined and he glanced over at my boyfriends hand which had a lip mask bundle we were buying (he was holding because he holds everything lol) but anyways he seem to follow me from one end of the store to the next and linger for bit even though the store is packed and I stated I didn’t need help already. Shortly after arriving at the fragrances a lady quickly comes over to ask if I need help, which I did but she replied with β€œOh I have no idea this isn’t my section I’m just covering for someone” so what’s the point of asking? I understand they’re TRYING to do their job but a male wearing a hoodie shouldn’t be an alert for β€œwatch them” we ended up cutting the visit short and I’m ordering everything online. Don’t come here if you want to be marginalized.

Kiya the Manager & Javier in fragrances were very very helpful today. As soon as I entered Javier in the men’s fragrance section immediately came to see what I may need or what kind of scents I am into. He was very very patient in showing me all the different scents that I described I liked as he showed me them and describing the strengths, the kind it is EDT or Parfum etc. Kiya as well during the process of me being helped she was upfront by the register and also helped with giving me her opinions on different scents that smell nice for times of the year and how they wear once sprayed on skin. Kiya was very very helpful as well, extremely nice and they had such great positive vibes. I’ll be coming back here for sure for any fragrance etc needs. Thank you so much !! 5 star service from this team! Highly recommend everyone to shop here !

RUDE, HORRIBLE AND HUMILIATING SECURITY + STAFF. Ive been a regular Sephora customer since years. I take my own time to pick my makeup, browse across all brands and try various products on before making a buy. Many times I note down product names, research them online, come back another day, or see a lipstick/makeup swatch on my hand out in the natural daylight.But at Newport Sephora, I was checking out some shades of lipstick but had to leave as it was too dark. I came back next day in morning and the lady security guard kept staring at me, I could see staff members following me around or intrusively keep asking help as an excuse to monitor me. The lady security guard in a fake nice way tried to intimidate me by saying Oh i remember you from yesterday. I was so embarassed that I left after purchasing some skin care productsI came back 2 days after as it was national lipstick day and 50 percent off lipsticks. Again as I was checking out shades, staff members again hovered, suspiciously looked, and that security lady again came to say in a fake way Oh i have seen you 2-3 times this week and followed me around, hovered and taunted Grab the lipsticks quickly before they are out.Despite making over $ 100 in purchases that day, I will never be returning to this sephora. Shame this is how they treat customers who buy hundreds of dollar worth of goods every year with them .

Although Im not one to use cosmetics, I come to Sephora because they are quite awesome. Love that they are not stingy on giving samples. I came in to get a Fresh night cream sample. $48 a bottle is not in my comfort zone unless I know for certain I love the product.

Who doesnt love Sephora? Their staff at every location is amazing and very well trained on makeup, skincare and products. More importantly Sephora is home of a lot of exclusives including this amazing Pat McGrath lipstick- must buy because color is to die for. Plus packaging/ unwrapping is an experience. Not pleased with some of the staff at this location. A few of the employees on the floor here seemed reluctant to assist me. One of the male employees even kept walking when I attempted to get his attention (I’m hoping possibly he didn’t hear me over the music or couldn’t tell with my mask on). Other locations I’ve visited the employees are trying to help from the minute you walk in, here was not like that. When I flagged down someone for help finding a product I saw in the app, she scrunched her face up and said β€œwhat is that? I’ve never heard of that”. I pulled up the app to show her and with a slight attitude she replies β€œyeah idk what that is”. By that point I was over it and checked out the few items I picked up. The counter girls were very very nice which is the only reason I have 2 stars.

Went to smell perfumes so that I can purchase 1 or 2 of my liking. 1st, they are genuinely trying to play by the rules. Limited people in store, a designated person for perfumes so that people arent touching everything, and guidance for the type of items you would like or enjoy. It was quite organized. I was 50/50 on how I felt about having a designated helper...but after some thought, I truly enjoyed it. Guess Im just used to roaming freely and enjoying the touch of everything and trying everything on my own. But after this experience...maybe sephora can keep it up and even give an option to where we can pick time slots in increments of 1hr to have a designated person give help. The upside is the attention and guidance to help us shop more accurately according to our needs. There wouldnt be as much theft since everyone is catered to (so to speak). And people are more inclined to spend something while they are there as opposed to nothing because they are unsure or dont know nor understand what they need, want, or have option to use. Sephora could really up their game with this. But in either case, it was a pleasant visit. Also because the gentleman that helped me was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. We need more ppl like him in retail. Thanks for the experience and for helping me pick perfumes that are right up my alley!

Terrible service!! This place has some impatient people at billing counter. They have trouble searching your phone number to identify you as their member. I had multiple instances of being rudely treated at billing counter. I received mail regarding items I can purchase with my reward points. On enquiring, they mentioned they don’t have any product available. In mail the products that are unavailable are already labelled as coming soon. I was asking for products that were available. I feel the representatives are unaware and trying to get rid of customers with questions. I would not suggest purchasing anything from Sephora at Newport Mall. BIG No No!!

Great customer service. I had a terrible experience but not at the fault of any of the agents. Everything I wanted was out of stock. One of the associates went to check twice just to make sure. Oh well. We started talking and she suggested a brush so I bought it. At checkout another associate saw the brush was opened so I went to pick out a new one. Good catch. However, when I got home I realized that the brush was missing. I checked everything. Not there. I called at 5:59 on a Sunday and they close at 6:00pm and they actually answered. I told the associate who answered the phone the situation and she was very thorough about it. I went to the store next day to find out what happened but the manager said they could see on camera the brush was put in the bag. In denial, I asked to see the video and she actually showed me on her phone. She said the brushes can easily fall out? Probably the most bizarre thing ever. I cant even be mad at the associates. They really went out of their way to help me. I do wish my dam $40 brush did not mysteriously fall out of the bag though.... FML

My sales associate Jameeria was fantastic at the register. However I had to search for a beauty consultant. I couldnt get a sample of a certain product and I felt rushed. My consultant color matched me I told her what I was looking for but she only suggested one option. They didnt have my concealer on hand and the store was extremely hot.I wish Jameeria was on the floor instead of behind the register. It seems that they think that they are all from a high fashion magazine and could not be bothered doing anything like helping out customers. That seemed to be beneath them! The store manager is more of the same and seems to encourage this behavior.My friend had in-store coupon and they wouldnt honor it. The manager told her we dont honor in-store coupons. I love Sephora because I love makeup and like to be able to do swatches and get samples of foundations because lets be honest things are not cheap here! With that being said, I pretty much dread coming to this Sephora. Its always under staffed so I find it nearly impossible to get help which almost always deters me from making a purchase unless I am going there for something specific. I also got the color IQ done a few months ago done here and tested out a foundation but the employee doing my foundation wasnt very attentive and was more worried about what other employees were doing. He also put on a foundation that he picked out and it was soooo cakey. When I brought it up to him he blamed it on the lighting and because he blended it out more after applying some setting spray which I know was not the case. Then he just walked off. Even my husband noticed how bad it looked when I left the store and he never notices those things. Needless to say I rushed home without making a purchase even though I really needed a foundation. And I also couldnt wait to wash the foundation off of my face. The only reason I am giving it a three is because I like the store in general and love makeup.

With the service as bad as it is, how is this place still open? I went there once for lipstick palettes, so called cosmetic consultant just pointed at an area and went back to her colourful conversation with co-worker. I Came in earlier for a color match and the staff was so rude. I was waiting for 20 minutes after I asked for help and the the staff was chit chatting, when they could’ve helped. Once I approached the employee, which by the way had horrible makeup on, about not being helped she gave me a nasty attitude trying to be very disrespectful. I remained calm. Also she made me take off my own makeup when they are supposed to do that for you. My whole experience was horrible. My first time going into Sephora, I needed eyeliner and mascara for a surprise party tonight. Christina was very polite and professional. She took the time to explain why she recommended the brand of mascara and eye liner & how I can use it appropriately. She made jokes here and there which allowed for us to connect better. As I approcached tbe counter a welcoming lady by the name Jennifer greeted me. She told me in a welcoming way that it was best for me to sign up for the reward card. She even gave me a free little gift . Down to the security guard on shift was welcoming. It’s nice to go into a store and not feel ignored or Unwelcomed. These ladies did a phenomenal job of that. They exemplify true sales expertise, knowledge, professionalism, and a big smile while doing it.Thank you!

My last (and final) visit the woman on register held my return item up to the light analyzing it as β€˜OK’ or not for return. Really? Is this forensic files??? They bother you and follow you around when you dont need help. Then when you need actual help no one is there. Then you see 5-6 employees huddled, in deep conversation. If you interupt them for help, they act bothered. And then to top offall this, the mall charges you $4-$8 to park! NO THANKS!!! Worst Sephora I’ve ever experienced and not worth stress and parking fees. Hope some of this gets back to corporate.

Let’s start by saying that I am an VIB rouge and have been so for the past two years. I spend over $1000.00 a year at Sephora and every time I go there, I get followed around by security as if I’m going to steal something.Second, I’ve used my VIB rouge perk of getting my makeup done free twice. I got it done by Alexis in March and I looked amazing.This past Saturday, my sister and I got our makeup done to go to a graduation party. She did not come out looking as bad as I did, but she still was not satisfied.When I realized how horrible I looked when I got in the car I was angry. We both went home and had to wash our face and re do our makeup. Not only did this waste our time, but we were late to attend the party and we were super upset.My makeup artist was a nice person, but she can’t do makeup. She did not even ask me if I had oily or dry skin and did not ask what products I would prefer to use. Second, she did not even use setting powder on me or setting spray. The eyeshadow looked horrible and I just looked scary. The eyeshadow was sloppy and was not neat. When she was blending the concealer under my eyes she bumped into my eyes with the beauty blender 4 times. I wear contacts so that was annoying. I got up and looked in the mirror to make sure makeup was not in my eye.My eyes were closed when she was doing my eye makeup and out of nowhere I feel a wet cloth on my eyes. I realized she was wiping the eye makeup off and that’s when I knew she did not know what she was doing.I did not complain in the store because I felt bad and I did not have the time. That was my mistake because I realized that I made an appointment and ended up wasting my time and I feel like I can’t use my VIB rouge perks of getting my makeup done free.I don’t want to return there to get my makeup done unless Alexis does it. My sister and I have gotten our makeup done at Mac before and we did not get an experience like this.

My friend was just in this store and was racially profiled by a manager named Toya. Toya had all her employees follow my friend around who had nothing but samples which she was given to by another associate who was extremely helpful Tanya. My friend asked for a bag to put them in since she didnt have a purse with her. Manager Toya ended up calling the mall security who asked my friend if she had something to give it back. My friend did not have anything at all but was racially profiled based on her looks. My friend explained to the security guard the situation and the security guard mentioned this happens quite often. I witnessed this and can attest to Toyas terrible attitude, rude language and the nasty way she looked at my friend. Additionally Rafael Sanchez from this store also acted the same way racially profiling my friend and was nothing but nasty and even told my friend If you feel uncomfortable then you should leave. I will never go to another Sephora again and would definitely never recommend this location to anyone, especially those of different nationalities. I will say avoid Toya and Rafael Sanchez at all costs if you step into this store

I went in looking for a certain lipstick but they were out. the associate suggested me to visit sephora in jcp. I told her i just came from there. So she then mentioned visiting macys. At macys they didnt carry the brand i wanted but the associate helped me find something better. Im just suprised they wanted me to shop at other establishments like my purchase was irrelevant. More she didnt want to take the time to help

Staff is rude and the makeup displays were dirty and covered in makeup. Tried to pay for my purchase, woman at the cash register shot me a look and continued talking to her coworker. Waited another 2 minutes before leaving

I LOVEEEE Sephora, dont get me wrong. BUT I would recommend not going to the one in Newport Centre because the manager has attitude and she should not be like that, especially with customers. The girls in this sephora try to convine you do let them do your make-up for a special event at your house or theirs (on the down low) which is against the stores policies.PLEASE BE SMART AND NOT GO TO THIS SEPHORA.AT LEAST BE SMART ENOUGH TO GO TO ONE LOCATED ELSE WHERE.HORRIBLE SERVICE, GIRLS, AND MANAGER AT THIS ONE!!!!!!
