Such a hidden gem of a coffee shop! The decor is chic, beautiful Florida artwork, and the music was upbeat. There was a television, so definitely a possibility for watching events. I had a great Cuban coffee and was able to get lots of work done. They have several areas where you can plug in your computer, as well as comfy chairs and couches. I like working at a table, so was happy for that option. Indoor and outdoor seating. Some bakery goods, snacks, sodas, teas, and other beverages are available for those who do not drink coffee or chai.

Really love there is a place with cool vibes, ability to lounge with good coffee open later than 8 pm on fri/Saturday. Website says open til 1:30 which is great. My wife and I cant do alcohol for health reasons so this spot is on our list to lounge or finish off a nice date night. Only reason I didnt give it a five star is because we have some dietary restrictions and most menu options are dairy and wheat based.

I have been coming to this place for more than 17 years and the coffee has been always excellent, is an excellent place to talk and study or even for a date. The service is very good and their cakes are also very good. You will hear many languages and see full diversity of happy people. I love this place. Disclaimer... people smoke outside so be aware, do not complain because smokers are next to you just go inside.

My whole family absolutely lives this coffee shop. The owner is friendly and accommodating. The coffee beans are varied and high quality (and are available to buy by weight, whole or ground to your preference.) The espresso is equally wonderful. Ive never had a burnt or ruined drink or problem there ever. Perfection every time! And they have tons of flavored syrup choices too! I also like that there is original art on the walls by smalltime artists which you can buy. Plus the hours are great, they dont close till like 2am!

In my opinion coffee portions were too small and the taste was bland. Prices were decent. There’s a lot of people who hang outside and smoke and the smell gets trapped inside. Quite nauseating.

Would be a lovely place except for the fact that EVERY TIME my girlfriend and I sit outside, several tables are occupied by people blasting music on their phones at full volume. Makes it completely impossible to enjoy the atmosphere, the coffee, or much of anything else.

Very nice cafe. I only have one idea for the owners ... to have the decor inside changed a bit. For beautiful paintings that are complex will need light shades, light furniture and blinds or light curtains. It will turn out great;) Caribbean-bohemian style ... boho. Also outside - tables and chairs in light and new paint on the walls and beauty :)

Decent coffee and a nice place to read, but no one enforces masks when going to the counter, and even the workers preparing things havent been wearing masks. 😩 Not sure when they stopped, but at least theres outdoor seating if you still decide to go.

I visited this location last night, the worker who serviced us was not wearing a mask even though the establishment has a sign on the door saying everyone must wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking which everyone inside who was sitting and talking or working silently on a computer were not in a mask. Not my problem and I am not some Karen but I would still appreciate the worker who is making my drink to at least have a mask or gloves on during this time.

I visited from out-of-state tonight. It was my first time visiting this coffee house.The old guy making the drinks was extremely grumpy.The cafe is run down and standards are surprising low for this establishment to have the number of stars given by others.The drink I got(chai tea latte) was basic-not flavorful.Also people were smoking at the tables outside. Nobody wants to inhale your secondhand, toxic cigarette smoke.

This used to be my go to coffee and tiramisu place, I hadnt visited in a while but I did today and walked right out.They have sign plastered on the door stating that they were taking precautions against COVID... I walk in and ONLY the customers are wearing their masks for once. The maskless barista kept touching her hair, chin and nose. She didnt use sanitizer or wash her hands, cross contamination everywhere... I left. Incredibly disappointed.I may reconsider visiting after COVID but then again this really was a turn off. Come on guys...

This entire section of the strip mall in Deerwood seems to represent an enclave of European-owned establishments, and the vibe over at The Coffee Grinder will be very familiar if youve lived in or traveled The Continent. It smacks a bit of the cafe common areas attached to the hostels over there. Youll notice a very loyal set of regulars who frequent the place regularly, if not daily, and the prices, compared with many other independent coffee houses around Jax, are quite fair. Their baked goods, such as their cakes, are fresh and seem to be homemade made from scratch -both their Focaccia and Cuban sandwich offerings are similarly tasty! Perhaps whats best about this cafe, however, is that, unlike Starbucks, it is actually OPEN!

Nice spot with outdoor seating at spaced out tables with outdoor music. Delicious coffees and baked goods. A little fountain near the coffee shop is also an option to enjoy. Diverse customer base makes it an interesting spot.

I like how late CG stays open, but the wifi isnt very strong, especially if you are sitting outside. Inside, there are these tables with tablecloths and glass surfaces over them. Because the glass in on top of cloth, it slides around a lot and isnt very comfortable.

Had a great experience at the Coffee Grinder. Its a quaint coffee shop with a very relaxing environment and a great place to grab a coffee. What I really liked about it was the atmosphere. They had indoor and outdoor seating, chairs, tables, couches and was very cozy. Plus if you get hungry they have a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches for a quick bite to eat. Definitely suggest recommend stopping by.

Im lactose intolerant and they have a pretty good selection of alternatives for making specialty coffee drinks. They also happen to have a few European candies that are good, like Kinder. Now, if they could just carry Pocket Coffee, Id be hooked for life.

I drive 20 minutes out of my way to go here when I have work to do just because the coffee. Theres 3 Starbucks closer to me. If you like coffee, you have to try this place. Highly recommend

One of the best coffee shops Ive been to. Coffee is consistently good....the tiramisu is lovely...the employees are very friendly. The owner is an awesome guy. He takes the time to talk to customers, and makes u feel like family. And, he usually gives my 5yr old daughter a free treat. Nice place to hang out. And, one of the few places in the whole city, that isnt a bar or club, that is open late.

I was pleasantly surprised upon walking in how authentic the vibes were. The service was so friendly, the coffee full bodied and flavorful. However the cheese danish is what truly inspired me to write this review, it’s perfectly sweet, buttery and flaky. Best I’ve ever had. Definitely will be coming back

Such a cute little place! Open nice and late all days of the week, its my go-to as someone that isnt fond of clubbing. The music, the vibe, the people. Its all so friendly and cozy. Its been busy every night Ive come, and it has good reason! I normally drink coffee with a lot of sugar, but I take these cappuccinos and mochas as is; the milk is enough. Also the Tiramisu! Oh goodness its so good. Along with the other sweets. A lovely hang out for most hours. I like to come down and relax and do needlework.

I went to the Coffee Grinder because of its stellar reviews and I needed a place to study. I didnt expect much from a hole-in-the-wall but wow I was wrong. The service was pleasant, the music was catchy and the drinks were affordable. The coffee is served in real mugs which is a nice touch. I will definitely be back

Great atmosphere! The barista could gas we been a little more friendly, but its all good. Had a DJ outside, not too loud, just right to have conversations. :) Definitely will be going back.

Would NOT recommend to come to Coffee Grinder more than one time: the Owner likes to gossip and talk bad about the clients, which I find very unprofessional. The owner also can be rude as soon as he gets familiar with a person, he makes dirty jokes, etc.

I had a great time hanging out with my husband. We had awesome customer service! Are server was very kind and very knowledgeable when it came to coffee and even talked us into getting 2 pieces of chocolate cake which was very delicious. The restaurant was very clean everything seem to be in order and we had a great time hanging out at the coffee shop and plan on doing it again.

I love the small town, European atmospgere of this place. I study and hang out here. The prices are reasonable. The drinks and deserts are phenomenal. You really cant go wrong with a great late night/day time hang out spot like this one. The same people work there to make magic with your drinks.
