This is the first time Ive been, and I believe this is a locally owned and operated business. After my experience, having a nail sideways in my tire and being told I couldnt be helped at 2 other places, this made me happy to go here! Fast, friendly service, and much less than what I expected to pay. I will 100% be supporting this business, as well as passing out their business cards! Highly recommend.

They are honest and very nice people. I have been using them for about 3 years and never any problems.

My husband and I were traveling home from a vacation at Emerald Isle and were pulling a 37 foot fifth wheel when we had a blow out on the RV. We pulled over and contacted our nationwide breakdown service. Three hours and 3 vendors later with a no show on our end, we googled and found this company. They were located a mile and a half away, so we drove with the flat to their location. I have never experienced such excellent service. It was closing time so they stayed late and ordered 5 new tires for us to be delivered the next morning. To top it off, the owner moved his RV from where it was parked on the property and hooked us up to 50 amp power and water where we spent the night. They had our tires on the next morning and we were on our way. Met some of the nicest people there who treated us like family. Highly recommend Modern Tire in Jacksonville.

These folks searched around town and found the one last tire that matched for my truck!! They are the best!!

I stopped by this morning around 7:45am (their hours posted was 8:00am) so they were open early. Was greeted by a very friendly yellow lab and a very nice gentleman and lady. I am from Wilmington and had been traveling for the past couple of days and noticed this morning there was a nail in my tire. They said no problem they could take care of me. I had to be at an appointment at 8:45 and they got me in and out within 30 minutes. While waiting I would like to add that everyone who came into their business was treated like family.When I went to pay they said it was no charge. I insisted on them letting me pay however was unsuccessful. I thanked them for this blessing and went on my way. Highly recommend for price and quality of work. I had 37x13.50r22 mud tires mounted on brand new 22x14 rims and they bead balanced it. No scratches on rims or grease. Very good work! Plus only shop in Jacksonville thats can mount a stretch tire.

Awesome service

Staff behind the desk were very nice and welcoming. They got the job done in a quick timeline but one of the workers ripped my steering wheel cover and it was a pretty noticeable tear. Great service wish the workers had a little more integrity.

Front desk staff was nice and friendly but dont ever take wheels here if you actually care about them. Brought a lexani forged wheel off a Maserati to get the tire removed so RGX could fix a small bend on the back side. Wheel is 2 weeks old and now has gouges all around it. They are raised spokes that require care and a special machine to remove which is why we took it here and asked if they could do it and they said yes. Then said there is no way they caused it.Best part is I took photos and videos in the parking lot with a time stamp on them and they refused to take accountability.

Friendly knowledgeable staff to help with all my car care needs. Went in for tires and they even gave it a once over making sure Im safe of the road.

Ive used Modern Tire for several years now. They have done everything from my braking system, tires, fuel distribution system, routine oil change service, tire rotations, and fuse relay box replacements. Never have had any issues with their work ethic or professionalism. Pricing is fair when compared to the industry standards. I recommend them. They are also an authorized NC Inspection station.

This place is awesome! I would highly recommend modern tire to do any mechanical work your vehicle needs! Their staff is very friendly and have never turned me away, even the numerous times that I have shown up with out an appointment. Their mechanics are experienced and take the time to explain the services that they have done. Their prices are great. I was really happy with their tire prices, considering the fact that I have odd sized tires that usually cost me a fortune elsewhere. I have taken family members cars there and gladly will in the future! Wonderful shop!

I have used modern tire for years, so have my family and friends. We have always been treated with respect and treated fairly. They have always been upfront with any issues and have never pressured me for any additional services unless it would keep me from passing inspection or risk my safety and they have always been willing to show me the issue and explain it to me like I dont know anything about vehicles. There will always be problems at some point with any business and you should never judge the business as a whole on one experience.

I called for used tire prices got a quote of $49-$60 + $10 balance and mount.Got there guy showed me tire said it was $60 no $40 tires available.Then realized after I left they charged me $70 for tire total was $86 should have stayed local and got brand new one for $100They were quick and appeared friendly just wasnt happy when they jacked up price after giving me one. PS I did call they offered no explanation or any offer to only charge me what was told to me.

Great service and friendly staff! I’ve taken all of my vehicles to them over the 12 years I’ve lived in Jacksonville. Plus if you love Fords they are the place to go and talk to.

After hours of research online I was convinced that I needed new wheel bearings on my truck. My wifes friend suggested modern tire and I am so glad she did. I called them and they were at my house with a tow truck within the hour. Before it was on the truck the gentleman said he thought it was a brake instead and he was right. They could have taken advantage of me and did the requested rear end work but they didnt. Its nice to find an honest mechanic no matter where you are. I will not hesitate to bring any vehicle here if the need should arise in the future. Thanks again modern tire.

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I was referred here by a family member near the beginning of the year because my car was overheating. They didnt even look at it for nearly two weeks, and then they told us it was a blown head gasket and would cost more to repair than the car is even worth. I spent almost three months without a working car until we took it somewhere else on a hunch. The radiator was split and both electric fans were bad. $700 to fix. How do you miss that? Did they even check under the hood? I suggest avoiding them like the plague. Not worth the time or money.

FINAL UPDATE: Joe gave a financial refund to compensate for the unusable inspection charge. It was a very kind gesture to reach out to us and then make this compensation. Im leaving the original post, but updated the star rating, because someone who is unaware of how inspections work, like myself being new to this when moving to Virginia, needs to know that this can happen. This situation ultimately cost me hundreds of dollars while trying to secure a sticker in the manner that was originally described to me. I do take responsibility for being naive, but wish I didnt have to become knowledgeable in this manner. Thanks again Joe and I hope your employees dont make this mistake again.UPDATE: The owner has contacted us saying they didnt know about this situation and want to make it right. I will remove this poor review with a favorable one once this is rectified. Thank you Joe for reaching out.Stay away! These guys are dishonest and would not make right what they have wronged! Coming from a state that did not require inspections, they told us they could perform a Virginia inspection while in North Carolina and they were giving an oil change. Apparently theyve told others the same thing as well. When I confronted them that this not right, they said they didnt know and wouldnt refund the fees charged. Thieves!

I wouldnt take my car anywhere else!! Not only is the service excellent, but you dont feel like they are trying to sell you something you dont need. Joey Hudler and his staff are all very professional and the service and trust keeps you coming back. I have recommended Modern Tire to a number of co-workers and have sent newcomers to Jacksonville to them. I have never once heard a bad word about their work or honesty. They will bend over backwards to make you happy. If you need just an inspection or a complete engine replacement, they are the people to see.

My car started to make some pretty concerning noises and my boss recommended Modern Tire bc they have been taking care of him and his vehicles for many years now. Im so glad that he did. Within twenty mins of looking at my car they not only found the problem but also took the time to explain the issue and what was needed to fix it and told me they could do it right then. Since it was not going to be a quick fix they had offered to drop me off somewhere so I wouldnt have to wait. I decided to just wait in the lobby. During my wait they kept me up to date on my car and how much longer it would take. As I was waiting in the lobby it became clear that this is not only a family business but one of those rare places that truly care for their customers. It was honestly the best auto shop I have ever been too and all together one of the best business Ive ever had to deal with. Their staff are both professional and friendly but also refreshing as they did not try to sell me anything I didnt need like most auto places do. I will definitely be returning to Modern Tire for all my auto needs. thank you guys so much for helping me with my car.

I had my car towed there when it overheated. After having the water pump replaced which they swore was the problem, it overheated 10 days later. When I took the vehicle back, I was yelled at by the owner and spoken to like nobody should be spoken to when unprovoked. He was shocked at the fact I would bring the car back and apparently it wasnt his fault that the car broke again. I guess if you take a vehicle in to this place to get it fixed and its not fixed right the first time, then it must be something else. Doesnt make a whole bunch of sense other than nobody knows what they are doing there and cant fix a car correctly to save a life. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
