I’m very happy with both the leather belt pouch and the mini inferno I ordered. The pouch is very nicely made and I’m sure I will get years of use from it. The mini inferno is a hand bit of kit to have on hand when conditions are not helpful to make a fire. I have yet to make a purchase from Self Reliance outfitters I have not been happy with.

I ordered the 1lb. 36# twisted tarred bank line. My order came on time, of correct weight, and of (in my opinion, and for what Im using it for) best of quality and price. Just received my camp cookset. Survival canteen set, skillet and 64 oz. Bushpot. Im impressed with the quality and how everything fits. Top quality even for the Chinese. Sro must have had a lot of input on quality control. I recommend it to any serious camper. Ps. If you get the bushpot get the rack that fits inside it. Great for baking. Just lay the bushpot in a bed of coals and put the rack inside. Look up bacon wrapped onion bombs in the bushpot.

Most amazing customer service. I ordered a few products separately from Self Reliance Outfitters for the first time. I had a problem with a seal on one item and they immediately sent me a new replacement top. They have responded within an hour to other emails I have sent. I would highly recommend them.

Ive had absolutely great experiences with this company. I cant speak for their current gear, but back in 2017 some of their MOLLE bags such as the one that comes with the Pathfinder nesting cup, werent that great. 2019 I bought something else that came with a MOLLE bag (the Pocket Hunter, I think), and that bag was a lot better, and didnt start fraying right away like the nesting cup bag from 2017.Even with fraying, the bag has held up well, and nothing on it is actually functionally damaged. I have bought a great amount of gear from SRO over the years since, and most things are pretty high quality, and exactly what I wanted. Even their PKS knives are fantastic, though I wish they offered a sheath for them like the one that Mora Gargberg comes with.I only had a delayed order one time, and when I reached out to Dave E. promptly told me that there was one item out of stock, which I got refunded, and the order was sent to me immediately after. Excellent service, great products.

Buyers beware. They have very poor customer service and will steal your money if given the opportunity. Dont order anything from online. I had ordered a custom pks grizzly knife with a special sheath. Total came out to over $200. I was told to give 4 to 6 weeks for delivery, but the covid 19 epidemic hit about 5 weeks into my order. I called asking where my order was and they said it would be another couple months. So i patiently waited and still no knife. I then called and asked again and requested a refund. They said they would refund my money amd never did. So i called yet again and explained my situation only to be told that they would have to investigate. Long story short. Terrible customer service. Thieves. Unprofessional.

There are lots of places to purchase gear, but SRO consistently has the best selection of quality gear. The gear is tested by Dave, Jamie or one of the other staff.I have checked pricing against other places and you won’t find better overall pricing anywhere.Some items are made in China, primarily the stainless products. That’s where stainless is made today. SRO has their own branded products and they have control over quality. Don’t hesitate to buy it because it’s made in China.I’ve been buying stuff here for 3 years and always had great customer service. I highly recommend SRO.

If your looking for camping and survival tools this is the place to go. The staff at Self Reliance Outfitters are great! They are very knowledgeable on their products and carry all the answers to your questions. They also do seminars though out the year on the weekends that are listed at the shop or online. A great way to learn something new at no cost. If you like knives or want to start making knives you need to stop in and check out their knife making kits. Got to meet Dave Canterbury for a free introductory to fire making. Explored the store and found quite a few items that peaked my interest. They also offer in-house custom Kydex holster making. I would have to say that for the price I would expect more Made in USA inventory.Understand the showroom is much smaller than their inventory storage. Not a lot of space, but the items are placed well.

Excellent staff and products. Jamie Burleigh is very knowledgeable about all things outdoors and primitive skills. He will talk with you as long as necessary and doesnt mind if you spend a lot of time in the store.

I have purchased multiple items from this store, and the items are probably the best out there. Yes, some items are made in China, but after some hard use, it would seems those items were made in America they performed so well! The customer service is excellent. If you have a problem with a blade or something else, the staff does their best to get to the bottom and find a solution. Overall, great gear and great staff!

I was very interested in buying a knife from them, as my good friend has one. I was interested in the scorpion HD I had a couple of questions about the sheath (that is extra) I emailed them with my questions. After a full week and no response I emailed them again letting them know I was STILL INTERESTED in buying the knife. After two more weeks with no response I finally gave up. After reading reviews and seeing other people had the same opinions of there customer service, I am glad I didn’t over pay for anything this company has to offer. There are other survival stores out there. I will never do business with a company that doesn’t have the time to respond to an email from someone ready to spend money and buy there product. I hope people read these reviews before giving this company there money. Terrible customer service. It’s been almost a month now and STILL HAVENT HEARD BACK FROM THEM. spend your money on a company that actually cares about there customers and what they think.

Absolutely a great experience. I was outfitting my kids Haversacks for the Pathfinder Youth Outdoor Training (Trailblazer). Jamie immediately greeted us as we walked in the door. He helped us with all of our needs and gave us recommendations on which products he suggested. We even got a little tutorial on wilderness First Aid. When he couldnt find what we were looking for in the store he was quick to look in their inventory and had another employee (Dave?) looking as well. As we were leaving he invited us to come join him and his kids for some knife safety at Southeastway park the next day. Thanks, we will be back.As far as the store goes, they had a great selection of top end lower range outdoor supplies so you can decide how much you want to pay for what item. (Wish my wallet was deeper) The store was clean, well lit, and offered complimentary coffee as we shopped.

Awesome survival and camping gear you absolutely cant find anywhere else. Custom hand forged knives as well.

Purchased a PKS Grizzly knife with custom Kydex sheath. Used it a few times and lost a rubber grommet and screw which apparently was not properly tightened. I had to retighten remaining screws. Advised customer service, Sonj Canterbury, who replied that they no longer make kydex sheaths but still had a few parts. I requested a replacement. She was going to charge me for (1) one single small screw and (1) one small rubber grommet. The cost for these items was extremely minimal. Due to their poor judgment and poor customer service a replacement item valued at pennies just cost them a lot more....it cost them my business! I spent literally hundreds of dollars with SRO and this was my first and last customer service experience with them. The majority of customer service support falls short of expectations. Thats the norm with most companies. SRO is one of these companies who need to rethink how they handle customer service and truly stand by their products before they end up going out of business. If this representative worked for my company, they would have been immediately terminated for poor judgment. Ill spend my money elsewhere.

This store is heaven for an outdoorsman such as myself. Quality gear, helpful staff and some products are made in house. The products are spread out in rooms by their application and you may have to ask for where certain items are kept. Some arent displayed.

The people who all work there are really nice. Nice choice of equipment to choose from.
