Jon does amazing work. I have used him several times for fiberglass repair and finishing. I would not take my boat anywhere else.
Inquired about a simple repair/refinish for a fiberglass front bumper and refinish of a rear bumper and two small moldings and John seemed excited about the project. He requested photos as opposed to having me stop by the shop for a quote. I sent photos within a couple of hours of all repairs/refinish work to be completed.Three days later, I asked John if he had everything he needed to complete a quote to which he responded, yes that he did, but am I sure my bumpers are fiberglass...yes, yes they are. John stated he would have me a quote by the end of the day.Two weeks passed and John continued to ghost me. Im not a pest, so I just sent him a quick text to see if he had a round about figure for the job, and if he was too busy to take the job currently, he could contact me if they had a slower time of year. We never slow down, he said...$3000. This for a repair the size of a credit card and refinishing two bumpers and two moldings approximately 1x1 in size. $3000. This is not rocket science.I have worked in the auto repair business my entire life (mechanical and body) and currently work as an estimator/appraiser. Johns quote was basically telling me to go fly a kite. I thanked him for his time and informed him that I would be going elsewhere. All correspondence leading up to this was polite, and John was responsive each time he was contacted. Bottom line, John wasted over 3 weeks of my time when he could have just told me he wasnt interested in the job and I would not have been offended.I never leave bad reviews online, but I feel I would be doing others a disservice by not documenting this interaction. Your experience may be different. John might be the best glass man in the world, but stringing people along is no way to run a a business.
I submitted a request for a quote to repair some cosmetic issues on my boat. Jon called me up and asked some more questions and provided me with a professional opinion. He could have easily pressured me into a higher priced solution like the other places tried to do. His recommendation was a lot cheaper than the other places and will still accomplish the same goal. He even answered some other questions I had unrelated to the repair. If I need any future repairs, Jon is the man I’ll go see.
I took my boat in for some fiberglass repairs. Repairs were made in the time frame we discussed, it looks really good and they kept me informed during the process. They went above and beyond what we expected.
Very helpful over the phone
Jon is fantastic! We had a bit of dock rash on our Malibu and after spending three days with Jon it’s like it never happened! Communication was great and he delivered our boat back to us 2 days early! Highly recommend Indy Marine & Auto Body!
