Dont waste your time! They make up new policies as they go! Scary stuff definitely not worth the risk.

Amazing customer service! The entire staff was helpful and friendly even though they were super busy. Ive gone to this location twice now and Frank (an older gentleman) is always so polite and kind.

I rent a storage unit and can never access my unit in the mornings on the weekends. I have had this unit for months and EVERY WEEKEND is the same thing. All the guys standing around listening to vulgar music talking. I pay over 120.00 every month to be able to store and access MY stuff when i need to. I have to get in my car go back out the secured gate go up to or in the building to trll someone to unlock the door. Its not my job, that is what you pay them for.So simple to walk to the back turn the lock and done. PURE LAZY. And still here i am waiting for them to open the door 10 mins later.... I will be moving my stuff and continue to leave bad reviews.

I had a truck reserved at this location 2 weeks in advance. I received a call from a different location in Bonner Springs stating the Independence location was not going to have my truck available and I would have to drive to Bonner Springs, wich is a 40-50 minute drive, if I wanted a truck because apparently they only guarantee the equipment you reserve not the location you reserve it at! So with me already moving 120 miles away and having to pay a ridiculous $300 for their smallest truck, they wanted me to add extra time to my drive just to pick up the truck and get it back to the location where it needed to be loaded. To add insult to injury, I was offered a measley 30 miles at no cost!

Worst place ever for propane if cheaper to exchange versus waiting more 20 minutes for service this place sucks

I had a really great experience last week. I reserved online, walked right in and they had a nice process to get me licensed and ready to go. The guy at the register helped me hook up the trailer and upon return the guy who helped me unlatch the trailer was very helpful, professional and thorough. Great experience led me to want to only use uhaul in the future.

Service is slow and uncommunicative. The guys helping you walk away without explaining anything and even with a reservation you’ll find yourself waiting upwards of an hour

I declined insurance when picking up trailer and told them I didnt buy insurance when I dropped off the trailer. They still charged me. Dont trust these scum bags.Edit: They cancelled my online order and created a new one with insurance. Total scum

Cancelled my reservation without calling, texting, or emailing because I was running behind. There were several hours remaining on the reservation and when I arrived they had already given the truck I had paid for to someone else.

Zero stars, biggest disappointment of service Ive ever had. Wouldnt accept my card like their website did and sent me into a panic attack inside the store. Tried to buy me off with a $25 gift card which was less than useless, ruined my whole move and my Christmas and now Im stuck away from my home. Never using ANY U-Haul service EVER AGAIN

These guys are Great! We had no trouble whats do ever. I made a reservation on line the truck was there and waiting for us when we arrived and when we returned it, it was so simple and easy. Just goes to show you cant go by other peoples reviews. I will be back to see them again!

I made an online reservation through U-Hauls site for a 10 U-Haul for 24 hours a month in advance. My reservation was confirmed about 20 minutes later, but with only 4 hours and 4 cities away, at this location. I was never contacted and asked about options like all the reservation information said. It was just changed. They also removed all protection for damages that I ordered, which just seems like a sleazy way to get me to pay them money so they dont have to use insurances if something happens. I am NOT paying for mileage to drive several cities away to pick up the truck when there is a location down the street from my move location. Let alone trying to cram in a full day move into 4 hours because they want to change my reservation without asking.After calling the woman, Virginia I believe was her name, was incredibly rude. She acted like I had no idea what I was talking about until I clarified I knew exactly what happened. She then made it sound as though its my fault for reserving online when it clearly states that a representative will contact you if your preferred location and equipment is not available, not you will have to contact them. After flat out arguing with me for several minutes I was finally told Im supposed to call a totally different number to deal with scheduling conflicts. Again, what happened to the representatives calling us?I have never had a single issue with the Oak Grove location, they are wonderful and work around your schedule and equipment needs no matter what. I cant believe how awful the Noland Road location is and truly cant understand why anybody would give them business.

Uhaul is a joke . They cancel reservations without notice, hang up on you when you call to ask why . This is why I bought my own truck, and it looks like I’m buying a car trailer today instead of renting one. What a joke

The staff here is incredibly helpful, Brian in particular really went the extra mile helping us trouble shoot issues hitching up the trailer to our car. New safety features on vehicles (they are all different), make towing set ups a bit challenging. Brian was so patient looking up the specs. We really appreciated all his help.

One Star - only so I can post. This may not directly reflect on the guys who were working at the counter. After having a reservation for a week, when I went to pay for the rental - the last step prior to driving off in the uhaul truck that I HAD RESERVED, I was given notice that I had to call a number. There was an issue the associates standing in front of me repeatedly told me they couldn’t talk to me about. I HAD TO CALL THE number. THIS number connected me to some uhaul customer service people. They gave me a name of some person I have never heard of, known, nor been associated with, and told me I had to go get a police report because that person didn’t pay their bill. This made no sense to me, nor did it make any sense to the local police department. I went to make the report, at which time the police asked me what uhaul wanted them to do. I didn’t know what to tell them. So the officer I was making the report to took time out of her day (I’m sure she had better things to do) to call uhaul to verify I had no association with this person. At that point I had wasted half of a day in which I was supposed to be moving, and since I was unsuccessful in filing a police report, I did not know if that would have been good enough for uhaul - so I didn’t return. I will say the guys at the desk were nice. But nice doesn’t really make up for the inconvenience that they caused. If uhaul had called me back to offer me discounted services and an apology I think I could have had a positive experience. If uhaul would have found the fake association a week earlier when I reserved the truck, I am confident we could have taken care of it. But this completely threw my move off and cost me more money in the long run because I had to get a same day rental with another company and I had to keep the truck an extra day to finish moving. I will never attempt to rent with uhaul. Furthermore, I will tell anyone who ever mentions moving/using uhaul not to use them because they might associate your name with a stranger who ripped them off for $300.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. Wow. I have worked in customer service since I was 16 and I don’t think I have ever encountered such terrible attitude toward a customer. My boyfriend and I went to return the truck we had rented and the man working the lot would not give me his name but just said he did not work inside, that he was the lot manager. He was short with us, told us that we couldn’t pay partially with cash and the rest on the card I used to reserve and pushed the transaction through anyways which will now overdraw my account. When we tried to get more info as the charges and pending charges on my card or more info of the receipt, he just started to walk away and said he didn’t deal with that stuff. I have never felt more disgusted at how I had been treated by someone who is supposed to want my business.

Went to rent a truck with my mom. Her card was declined, so I offered to use mine. They said my card was prepaid and wouldn’t ring it up. I explained that I rented a truck 3-4 weeks previously with the exact same card, no problems. He said no, that card won’t work. I asked for him to try it anyways and he refused. Contacted customer service, who contacted the store, and the guy lied and said I was trying to use my moms card without her present and that’s against policy. So customer service took the employees side without any further questions. Won’t ever do business with uhaul again.

Preferred service all the time Sam the owner is definitely a people person very informational on propane and anything to do with propane he knows it I met one of those new workers maybe not do I dont know but this is my first time meeting spoke very highly of his supervisor that says a lot about that worker Caleb was his name and he appears to be a mini me of the owner also a very knowledgeable person about propane I drive a very long way because of the customer service and because theyre the cheapest it appears all around and I will keep driving I drive about maybe 20 to 39 miles its worth it because of the customer service

The first time I went in there the guy looks at the date on my bottle and say oh this is 8 yours old I cant touch it. I looked at him and explained nicely no its 10 years before the need to be recertified. So Im good to go for 2 more years. He proceeded to fill the bottle. Now my question is how many times has this happened to other people. Funny thing is never happened again. They did a good job till Saturday. I took a #40 propane bottle. The nit wit I was dealing with set the scale to #40 AND then set the bottle on it. So instead of getting the 9 gallons of propane I was supposed to get, I got 5 gallons. I think Ill go somewhere else and recommend everyone looking for propane go somewhere else.

I booked a truck via reservation desk for 2 day rental. Reservation agent guaranteed truck would be available. I booked a weekend show. I take a Uber to pickup truck. I am told truck is at another location. So I had to get a Uber ride to that location. I also was told now that I only had the truck for one day not two. Mgr at this location bumped my rental and told me that he needed the truck because he was out of trucks. I was threatened by a regional booking supervisor. I took truck back and told them to stick it.

Ive rented trucks from here many many times. It is a nice big store with a lot of different trucks that you can choose from. I do love the online aspect of it. But I have tried to use the online check in twice, and neither worked. But if you make a reservation give them your license number, do all the pre check and stuff your wait is not very long.

I have been using this Uhaul all summer long and really havent had a bad experience. The people that are working there are truly amazing and theyll do whatever they can to help.

Great place, very clean and awesome staff. They have newer trucks that drive great. Price was very fair and I would highly recommend.

Was having an issue with my trailer. Took it there one of the nice employees came out checked it out told me what could be the issue and i left with the knowledge of how to get it repaired. They were great help.

Always get my RV lp refilled here. Good price and always had friendly service. Easy in/out lot.

Horrible experience just now at this location! The lot guy as he put it is a complete jerk and needs fired right away. Never again will we use uhaul for any reason whatsoever!Edit, customer service promised a phone call within 72 hours (5 days including the weekend and holiday) but no phone call came in. I called again, waited on hold again for 33 minutes total and the lady agreed that the treatment was awful from the store manager, lot manager and customer service. She forwarded the complaint to the marketing president. Their office however shows me why the store managers and employees get away with treating customers badly! Uhaul has called me a thief for no reason at all, charged our card instead of taking the cash payment because he was in a hurry and has to deal with people like me everyday and the marketing president in the kc area said we handle things this way so it doesnt happen to other families in the future but obviously doesnt care much about this family since they have already got our money and then some! Do yourself a favor, go rent from any other place than Uhaul!I wish there was a place to post the video of Mr. Brown talking to me like a piece of trash, but then uhaul would be out of business by now if that was the case Im sure

Worst rental experience. Got a large I haul that was rented unknowingly was wrecked the week before. Loaded my whole house and had to stay at my parents overnight until we closed on house. Woke up after a bad rain and started to unload stuff, water everywhere. After unloading we took a closer look and the ceiling had been attempted to be fixed and hid w glue where it was damaged. Uhaul manager refused to give refund even after he said that someone really messed up and gave me their insurance info which found in my favor. Ridiculous

PLEASE do not rent from these thieves if you value your property. They stole so much of our property our memories all of my child clothes and toys. these ppl are thieves and the corporate office made sure they can do this and face no charges or be held accountable in any way . their are many other places you can rent a moving truck from. your contract gives YOU no protection. If anyone else has had items stolen from them at this location please contact me or comment where i can contact you . i would love to bring a law suite against them. The staff stole a coin collection my mother gave me and a collection of a rod rookie baseball cards. this is heartbreaking save yourself the pain and stay away from these band of thieves

Could have caused serious accident . Both trailer tires had to be changed by road side assistance because they were in such bad condition, was told I never would have made it on those tires. Pure neglect on this stores part. 2 running lights broken and 1 taillight out. I was on a 986 mile trip they knew this trailer was going to Florida and it was not road ready but they sent it out!

Was given 9am appointment over the phone to have trailer hitch imstalled. Arrived at 9 and was told my appointment wasnt until 10:30. Came back at 10:30 and was then told the installers werent even there so it was gonna be a few hours. I was guaranteed my car would be ready by 3:30 in the afternoon at the latest. It is now 4 and i still havent heard from them.

They will do their best to help you fine the right size of truck or trailer and get it to you.

MICE!!!!!! Had my stuff in the storage unit for 10 months, when I went to get my things out I was shocked to find mice had destroyed a $1500 bed and $2500 in sofas, talked to the manager and he laughed at me and said he figured there would be mice since the unit near me had rotten food, this place is disgusting I would not use it for storage they can not take care of a mouse problem. I am currently trying to work with uhaul to get a resolution. Now i have no where to sit in my new house and had to buy a new bed and I had to down grade because I did not budget for new furniture will keep you updated with results!

I wanted to refill a propane bottle, but all three employees were too engrossed in the football game on television to help either the gentleman ahead of me with about six bottles to fill or myself. I left without service nor did anyone offer to help as I left.

Would have probably have a better review but we stopped using them because of a smart alike manager we came across during Thanksgiving.

We used this U-Haul last time we moved - they were more than excellent to work with.

The service was fine and prices for u-box were reasonable, but went on a Saturday and the line was very long and slow.

DEVASTATING!!!! PAID OVER $2000 DOLLARS TO THIS THIEVING COMPANY AND STILL LOST ALL OUR BELONGINGS... THEN THE MANAGER MARK KOCINSKI WHOM WE THOUGHT WAS REALLY HELPING US AND WORKING WITH US WOULD NOT RETURN OUR CALLS. MANY MESSAGES LEFT WITH STAFF CLAIMING TO ENTER THEM IN THE SYSTEM WHICH WOULD FORWARD/DELIVER AN ALERT DIRECTLY TO MARK KOCINSKI HIMSELF. WE WILL SEE HOW WELL THEIR NOTES IN THE SYSTEM WERE PUT IN SOON BUT PLEASE FOLKS DO NOT PUT YOUR VALUABLES HERE NOR THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY PLEASE!!! MY FAMILY OF 5 LOST EVERY MEMORY WE HAVE EVER MADE TOGETHER OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR AND A HALF(BABY BOOKS TO SCHOOL PROJECTS) & MY WIFE AND I BOTH LOST OUR CHILDHOOD AND FAMILY HEIRLOOMS AS WELL SO HEARTBREAKING STRESSFUL SITUATION FOR US FOREVER. I stopped to check on storage units a short while back. I went to Public Storage on Noland around 42 nd street. Idid eventually rent from PUBLIC at a different location. But I wanted to praise Public Storage for the most wonderfully delightful Miss Vickie they had working property number # 20716 she was right on target with the information and options they provided. Miss Vickies information actually made me rent from another location for logistical reasons. Buy it shows Vickies integrity. By. Giving up her chance for a new tenent by suggesting a more suitable location fotr my personal needs.Thank you Public Storage But I want to especially THANK MISS VICKIE for her help that dayThank You Miss Vickie
