Best latte Ive had in Kansas City area. Quiches are tasty! Comfortable atmosphere. A place to fellowship with friends. Tried to return, but wasnt open until 8am. Not for early risers first cup.

The first thing I noticed was how extraordinarily friendly all of the staff were. They were helpful, professional and very courteous. I love that. The decor in the shop was great too, with a rustic, low-key vibe and a variety of tables and furniture to choose from. The house coffee was very good and smooth.

Coffee was horrible! i have a special coffee but no one has messed it up so badly before!

I ordered the turmeric, ginger lemonade and it was delicious. The place was clean, a lot of tables and chair. A bay window that offered a high top table a chair. Also, they offer a printing service. Unfortunately, I did not see the price for printing. This will definitely be one of my favorite go to places when in Tampa.

If you need a place to just sit and work or sit and talk, this place is great. They were out of brownies the day I was there, so I had a thick slice of banana chai bread, which was fine. My almond milk decaf latte could have been warmer, but it was a hot afternoon; had a nice mint tea later. i recommend

What a wonderful spot to stop! We were looking at houses in the area and stopped for a coffee and found this treasure. You can find delicious baked goods with a great selection of quality coffee here, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. Looking forward to many return trips.

Today was a good day! We usually get the hot coffee but today I had a perfectly brewed cup of Earl Grey tea with a touch of vanilla made by Jess! Lordy mercy that girl knows my tastes and you dont have to keep reminding her of how you like things. Alexis and Jessica are stellar Baristas and Im happy to slide through here every now and again. I come for the coffee yet Im committed to the friendliest Baristas Ive encountered in a while. Love abounds here and we need more love! We applaud customer care and are never disappointed when a pick me up is needed in this shop. The conversations and mixture of cultures is refreshing. I will continue to recommend Main Street Coffee and we wont stop patronizing this place as long as the Baristas remain this lovely. God bless you all and I appreciate you greatly!

Best frappe Ive ever had! And their bagels are perfectly toasted, and so delicious! A must try place for coffee, for sure!

The Cortado here is terrific. I highly recommend it if you stop by. Also, a cortado is a small, espresso type drink so it is quite compact in its delivery.

First visit. The iced mocha cappuccino was great. The store is power wheelchair accessible. They currently have indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms are a little hard to get into and out of in the wheelchair but if you have someone to hold the door you can do it.

Had a chai tea with rice milk and a shot of espresso. Definitely got my day off to a great start!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in the KC Metro and ny far my favorite in Independence. Their house blend is an excellent Brazil Guatemala that is superb.

I dont care about the vibe, I care about coffee, which the staff doesnt know how to make. Get your tepid, bean-flavored water here.

I moved to the area just a few months ago and was so pleased to find a local coffee shop with good brew and just a stones throw from where I live. Theyve got a HAPPY HOUR, too! Double stamps on your frequent flyer card. Cool spot. Looking forward to regularly doing business here. Stop in and have a drink if youre nearby.

Main Street Coffee has finally reopend! Good to have the best coffee house in Independence open again. The coffee is still fantastic, one of the best in the metro area.

Nice little coffee place and the coffee is good.

Big sign in the window says “We are open!” Hours listed on door says “Saturday hours”.. we show up on Saturday afternoon and the place is closed! Please, be consistent.

They will allow me to enter, buy items, use a card but can’t use the restroom while sitting there drinking and eating. Total BS. How about have your workers clean the restroom hourly? Won’t be back

After a very long day of trying to purchase a vehicle, my wife and I took a break to walk around Independence and decided to stop in for a drink. The ladies working at the time were welcoming and inviting to their shop. We didnt know what their menu consisted of, but they generously walked us through all their options as well as their favorites. Everything was super delicious. I would recommend anyone looking for a good coffee and a nice place to relax. They also have a local soda that is super tasty.

Great Cappuccino...Strong, fresh & flavorful. Split a slice of lemon poppyseed cake & a chocolate chip brownie with a friend. The poppyseed cake was really good...very moist. The brownie was good but a bit dried out. Overall a nice place to grab a coffee and a snack.

I have been going to Main Street Coffee House quite a while now. I remember going there to meet friends from school back in 2008. Now, 10 years later, I still love going there!I will say their prices are pretty comprable with that of other coffee shop services. I cant always afford to go there because Im a college student but its a nice place to study or work on projects via computer. The staff is super welcoming and friendly. They know me by name and always strive to make sure I get what I want. They answer my questions about menu items and dont make me feel dumb for not knowing coffee terminology. (Sometimes I get that vibe from Starbucks..but not here!) The coffee itself is good. Sometimes a little stronger than Id like. But they make everything in decaf if needed. They definitely know their coffee!Overall, I love this place. I hope it is around for years to come!

This a great place to meet up with people. Great atmosphere. If you want simple coffee they have it for cheap. Or, you can pay extra for a pour over or other specialty items.

Some great ‘in house’ specialty coffee flavors. Cranberry orange muffin was tasty. Be cautious with their bathroom. They claim you need a key to get in their restroom but the door was opening despite being locked. Meaning you walk in on others and they walk in on you...when mentioned to the barista she said, ‘yeah that happens with that door occasionally’ then brushed it off with seemingly no intent to fix it.

Awesome, courteous and professional staff. The frozen mochas were delicious and perfectly prepared! Tables and floors were clean. Staff patiently and politely listened to a patron who was exceedingly loud and told personal stories which divulged way too much personal information for everyone to hear. The noise level from the other patrons was exceedingly high too. Recommend noise deadening stuff be placed on the walls and ceiling or offer ear plugs for sale. 😄

Great local coffee shop. Support local merchants on the square. Its better than the chains shops. Friendly staff and a more local scene. Very nice selection of baked goods to get your morning started our for an afternoon treat. Take the time and enjoy your coffee in a real ceramic cup instead of paper or styrofoam.

My boyfriend and I came here on our first date and had our first kiss just outside of the coffee house. Its such a chill place and it feels like a second home to me, honestly. We still come here every single chance we get and the employees are so nice! They have food for people with all kinds of dietary needs including sugar free/vegetarian/vegan and its the best place on the square in my opinion.

This quaint little front used to conceal a wonderful lively coffee house with great atmosphere and well crafted cups of coffee goodness, with a wide variety of flavors, and staff picks for some added personality. It since has been replaced with starch white accents on droll beige. Staff is still friendly and helpful.. But its missing its cozy inviting quirk.

Best mocha Ive had in ages. The peach smoothie was okay though scooters is slightly better. But I cant fault a coffee house for having great coffee. I even got a heart.

This is a great little independent coffee house. Good coffee, tasty food (sandwiches, pastries, that sort of thing). They remember and reward their regulars. Its a good place to sit and chat with my bestie or my editor or take my kids for a treat. They also have live music. The bathroom is clean and even has menstrual hygiene products in the womens room. Extra cool!

First time visit today. Love the ambiance. Nice employees. But I didnt think the coffee was anything to write home about. My favorite coffee shop recently closed down and Im looking for a new place. Unfortunately this place wont be it. The cappuccino was almost all foam. Not very flavorful. Im sad it wasnt better. I really had my hopes up.

Main street coffee is a great place for GOOD coffee and lattes. Coffee isnt burnt like some of the famous places. Locally owned and operated on the Historic Independence Square and is our go-to for coffee based drinks.

Stoped in Christmas Eve to knock out a little work and have a coffee to get my day going. The barista suggested a wonderful seasonal concoction. The place was clean, had a great atmoshpere and the customers where as friendly as the employees.

The only independent and eclectic coffee house in Independence, this is a small but comfortable hole-in-the-wall kinda place that has a ton of character, and the ambiance is fine too. It has a small deck out back; the coffee is superb, but Ive not yet eaten there so I cannot comment on that part. A must-visit.

The coffee is super strong! I like it. If you dont like strong coffee, make sure you see if they can make it a little weaker.

They pull a shot of espresso that is second to none. The espresso had a beautifully thick crema and taste to match. The rosemary walnut scone was out of this world too.

My first time here, but its a pretty low-key, cozy coffee house in the historic Independence Square. Great selection of locally roasted beans as well as some pastry and sandwich options, all at very reasonable prices. Relatively quiet for it being a Saturday morning; kind of surprised. Looks like they have a small stage in the corner that they may use for open-mic or singer/songwriter performances.

This is the only coffee shop i will go to. The staff is flawless. The coffee and treats are amazing. I love Main Street Coffee!

Great selection of drinks, and they always seem to be adding new ones. Prices are very reasonable for the great quality coffee and generous sandwiches. Baristas are always friendly, and happy to answer questions. The interior is very up to date, with a warm cozy feel.

Coffee is so good I get the same thing everytime lol BUT it’s not even just the coffee it’s the staff. One gentleman that works remembers my name and has my order ready to pay for as soon as I walk through the door! They are great.

I ordered a custom iced coffee whose seasoning I disliked. The barista saw me throw away the entire drink before approaching her to order something else. She didnt ask what was wrong with the full drink I just threw away. I volunteered that the drink was too spicy. She didnt react at all instead she asked what she could make for me. I was not looking for a freebie but a little care for the customer such as acknowledging my review would have been nice. The place is cool though with a good coffee shop ambiance and while a little clueless the barista was pleasant and the second iced drink, a carmel macchiato was fine.

I really like this coffee shop. There espresso blend is right up my alley. The staff is always friendly, and the shop is very comfortable.

I absolutely love this place but I dont understand managements decision to shorten the coffeeshops hours so much. I recently went to the Inkwell Cafe in the Englewood Arts District and found out that a good number of old Main Street customers/music acts have started going to Inkwell. I have known several of these guys personally since weve all played shows together at Main Street and they all said they stopped going to Main Street because of the new hours. Main Street has an awesome ambiance, friendly staff, delicious coffee and a wonderful back deck but it is never open late enough at night so I always miss out on going! Bring back the live music scene, open mic nights, and you will get 2x as many customers! Your shop is really a wonderful little hole-in-the-wall place and I miss going there.
