Harry was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what we wanted when we explained it to him. He made sure all projects were finished in time for my contractor to install them and even took the liberty to add a handle to my door order because I had forgotten to and he didn’t want it to hold up my project. We couldn’t be happier with Harry and Urban Specialty Woods and we are already planning new projects for them to build us.

If you are looking for something unique and different from the ho-hum that you see in furniture stores, this is the place to go. We started this process in November, going to the “yard” With Harry to pick out a piece of wood. He was so knowledgeable and encouraged us along the way. We weren’t sure of many things but he smoothed things over. He took extra care to make sure everything was done professionally with no errors at all. So impressive. This is a quality company and will guarantee that your table or chest or whatever it is that you order will wow you.

Definitely an interesting place, not so.ething I expected to find on Long Island. Lots of interesting wood as dimensional lumber, slabs and reclaimed wood. Lots of interesting pieces and ideas. And the finished products they have on displayed are inspiring and beautiful. If youre a woodworker, or looking for an interesting, original piece (even a simple mantle can be very interesting) its worth the visit.

The team at Urban is extremely professional and knowledgable. Even though we compete in the same marketplace as woodworkers, they are my go-to for quality materials and difficult jobs.

This place is amazing the people there are so helpful and give you great advice.I am a novice woodworker and trying to up my game a little. Their selection of wood is beautiful and they are actually willing to join and plain the wood for you for a little extra cost. I believe they also meet up the first Tuesday of every month I havent had a chance to do that but I really would love to stop by and talk amongst other woodworkers.

Excellent service. I just stopped in for a small quantity of Walnut and was able to pick my own pieces. Staff were kind enough to mill the rough sawn pieces to finished materials. Will definitely be returning.

I am very happy with both the wood and the service I was provided with. I knew I needed a hardwood slab to make a coffee table, but not many more details. The employee I worked with stopped what he was working on and spent about 15 minutes with me to help me pick the right slab for the project. He also walked me through some of the more difficult steps I would encounter in the process. Despite living more than 40 minutes away, I will be returning here for my next projects.

Harrys work is beautiful, and he and his team have probably forgotten more about woodworking than I will ever know. They have most of the dimensional stock and slabs that I need along with some supplies, and are dealers for Festool tools and some really unique hardware. I only wish that I found them sooner.

These guys are the best! Experienced, friendly, and super helpful. They are always willing to give me advice on my projects and help me select the right materials.
