Got our tractor fixed here. The girl at the service desk is very friendly and knowledgeable. They fixed it quicker than we were expecting at a fair price. 5 stars
No longer service Toro, after being a customer for 20 years I no longer have a reason to shop there. And I now have to Drive 20 miles to the closest Toro dealer. The new owners are missing out on past D&G customers money because of this. Good Luck.
I can’t say anything positive about the service department. I took my Stihl leaf blower in about two months ago. The starter would not engage when I pulled the start cord. I was told it would take about 15 days before they could look at it.A month later, heard from no one. I called them and they said the part was in but no one had worked on it. I finally called back today, two months later, and was told that the service manager had left the store for another position and that they were unable to figure out what was wrong with it!The lady I spoke with said at $99 an hour it would probably be foolish to invest in the repair. Wait, they didn’t know what was wrong with it but it wouldn’t make sense to repair it? Two months after the fact and they didn’t even call me to let me know what was going on?In the meantime, it’s mid October and my lawn is covered in leaves. Needless to say, I will never go back there for service or to purchase new equipment. The store was under much better management when D&G owned it.
Im trying to buy a John Deere robotic lawnmower. They have them in Europe but not yet here. Tom is helping me out with this.
Dont take second hand tires here to have new tires replaced. Spend over 200 bucks. Get a lecture and treatened to charge me more because one tire had a can of fix a flat in it at one point. Paid your 8 bucks a peace disposable charge, didnt know they had slime stuff inside inside one. If you dont want to deal with it give me my little old lawn mower tractor tires back and my 16 bucks and I will take care of it. Take your business someplace else where they will greet you and help you when you walknin and not ignore you at the service desk.
Courteous parts dept. Provided the part I needed.
Helpful for getting parts for my kohler engine. Thanks!
Do not take your equipment in for repair here. I took my Stihl chainsaw in for warranty repair and 4 months later, I receive a workshop invoice for the repair. Called D&G and they said they would look into it and get back to me. Never called me back. Another few weeks went by and I received another invoice so I called back and they said the warranty was denied and they went ahead and fixed it without discussing the cost with me. So now I have a $250 bill for the repair, almost the cost of just getting a new chainsaw. Not very good business practice if you ask me.
I called to see if a used mower was available. I was told that it was available so I had it put on hold so I could go pick it up after work. 50 minute drive each way. I get there to find out that it was sold to someone else earlier in the day. Customer service and management there stink.
I go there for all my John Deere needs and more.
Helpful employees sped me on my way with what I needed.
Best in class sales & service love supporting my home town retailers
Had a great experience at D&G. Thank you Eric for helping me get the right mower for my needs. Had a lot of questions and concerns and felt very comfortable with the whole process.Cant forget Ralph, thank you so much for the extra information during delivery and the the extra patience. You are both so kind and knowledgeable you guys are assets to D&G.
The customer service is absolutely terrible.
I work there. All of my fellow coworkers and i go above and beyond for our customers
Service desk was extremely disrespectful and unhelpful. I had just bought a new spring for my Xmark lazer z deck. I needed a 1/2 inch drive ratchet just to pull the idol pully back. The woman at the front desk told me she had 35 units and they were all commercial so to lend the ratchet it wasnt worth her time unless I wanted to pay 100 dollars an hour. After going outside and attempting to attach my spring and belt without it a sales man brought me out the drive I needed and I was out of there in 5 min. I spend a lot of money there and the service desk didnt think I was worth the time of day. Everyone else was very helpful.
We came to D&G for a problem with our z track John Deere residential mower purchased at a big box store for two separate issues. Our mower was not far outside warranty and we contacted John Deere corporate to see if they would stand behind their product. Let’s just say John Deere corporate could take a few lessons from D&G’s customer service handbook. They are good honest people who care about the customer and providing quality service and products. We won’t be going anywhere else. Thank you Doug and D&G staff!
Joe is a very knowledgeable salesperson. Asking questions about any of the many products that you may be interested in will help you make an informed decision.
The guys at the parts counter were very easy to work with, and found what I needed even though I didnt have much information on the equipment
I will not know til I get my x-mark mower back from for warranty work.
I normally dont write reviews, but I just had to share my first experience with D&G. In Howell.Even during this covid pandemic. They were top notch, very helpful, very friendly. Couldnt have been more impressed with the service. Special thanks to Randy. I will now be a customer for life, thanks again, great job guys
Dont expect them to be the experts here. You might as well find the parts you need on your own. I called to order a Hydraulic Cooler that my tractor desperately needed, the parts expert ordered a Coolant Heater... because, yeah, those are the same thing... Save your time and money, find a place that actually cares about their customers.
I broke a Bolt off of my lawn mower while taking the blade off. Took it Up to the service department, They took care me within 5 minutes no charge. Bought the new part and was on my way within 20 minutes. Great service.
Great service very knowledgeable fair prices
I purchased a zero turn mower from D&G 2 years ago. Eric in sales was very informative, guiding me to the right model for my needs. I have experienced a few warranty repairs and have been extremely impressed with the service department. In particular Doug. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Excellent staff all the way around.
The parts consultants here are awesome. Need sale talk to joe
Unbelievable service! Excellent products! Over the top delivery! Earned my business for a lifetime! Thank you!
Well organized for your use, of getting better prices, and product.
Great service. Shop local.
Great people and great equipment.
So my 84 year old mother calls D&G due to the mower quit running and needs a ruitine service anyway .After a few days they finally pick it up. Needed to be jump started and the guy didn’t know where the battery was. If she told me that I would have told her don’t let them take it.4weeks later, today, she finally calls to see what is going on and they tell her they are swamped and it’s still sitting where it was unloaded at.That’s it, just that they will get to it when they can.Nice.My dad had bought this one and others prior over the decades from them and this is the best they can do.Beware....this is no where near the place it used to be years ago.
I was extremely rude to Christine and Doug insisting something to be fact when in turn I was wrong. Through all my ranting and raging, they were always professional and courteous. I totally recommend D&G in Howell and I have personally apologized to them. Great, professional people.
Little wait but nice friendly service
I would give them less than one star if possible. Rudest parts department and this is pretty much universal, not just Howell. Called Howell today. We need an o ring, 1.5 OD, nitrile. Older man answers the phone. His reponse to the above info? If you have a part number I can look it up. Its not like I have a barrel of o rings sitting here next to me. Apparently they keep no stock and/or the parts guys dont bother to learn their business. Terrible customer service. Very rude. Maybe he should get off his fat backside and check stock. Im betting they have o rings there somewhere. Tired of dealing with this place. A competitor with better training and attitude found us what we needed.
Parts department is great, they take the time to make sure you have everything you need and the parts are right.
Will not back anything they sell. Mower blades out of balance. Warped from heat treat. They balanced them still shook the drive on deck worse. Said I did not mount them right. Tossed them on the counter and walked out. Any mower blades, have them checked out off package before leaving store.
We have bought 2 lawn mowers and 1 tractor from D & G Equipment in Howell Mi. The equipment that we purchased: EZtrac 465, 2015- X730, and most recently a 2017- 3033R.We have been very Happy with our experience with D & G in Howell. The salesman was excellent every time! His name is Eric so we suggest that you ask for him!Thank you,RO
Awesome service when I was buying we will see when I go back.
THEY DO NOT NEED YOUR BUSINESS AND WILL TREAT YOU THAT WAY. D&G Equipment Service Dept leaves much to be desired for their customers.I have done over $40,000 in business with this company since 2006.They offer no follow up calls on equipment that is weeks past service date estimates. They offer no appology or explanation when asked about issues pertaining to service. If you are lucky enough to get a response it is generally snarky and in considerate. It baffles me that an equipment company, D&G Equupment..fully aware that the equipment bought from them is integral towards your own businesses success is treating customers with such lack of consideration or common courtesy. In a nut shell..they DO NOT NEED YOUR BUSINESS AND WILL TREAT YOU THAT WAY. You were warned..and its not an isolated incident. I have gone bach numerous times hoping that I happened to run into the service provider on a bad day but 9 outta 10 times your service will be bad..regardless of time of year. At this point it seems that the corporate culture there simply doesnt care about their customers satisfaction. I really wish that the Big Boss of this company knew this was happening and made a wholesale change at the Howell M59/96 location. Instead..good hardworking clients trying to buy and service equipment bought in their Howell location are left to find a new company to do business with...extremely disappointed. Hopefully this post wont be followed up with their typical excuses or brushed off as 1 unhappy customer, but actually addressed with change and an actual goal to please customers coming in to spend money.
I have a 2000 ExMark that I bought from them brand new. I have done very little to it in the last 13 years other than blades, belts and oil changes. I had a major hydraulic oil leak and my on-line research told me that I needed a new hydraulic pump that would cost in the neighborhood of $900.00.I left the machine with them with a not to exceed price of repairs so they would not have to call me and slow down the repair process. They did call me later with a list on recommended repairs in addition to the leak, informed me that they were able to install a new seal kit to repair the hydraulic leak at a fraction of the cost, making the rest of their recommendations affordable which I did approve.I am extremely happy with the results, the machine has been repaired to an almost like new status, everything works, they power washed it and it runs great.I would highly recommend their service department and Dale who was my service advisor.Great service guys! I appreciate it! See you in 13 years!
Im standing here looking at mowers. Been here about 45 minutes, no one has offered to help me. Despite being the only person in the store when I walked in, two customers after myself have been catered to first. And, to think I only want to buy this mower that is overpriced by $600 from the manufacturers own website. Im beginning to think Im the one with the problem and the staff is doing me a favor by ignoring me. This is ridiculous.
The parts department was able to find the part number for a replacement i needed after several round about searches to get there. I had spent hours on the web with no result.
Very helpful staff and it has everything you need
Purchased new exmark mower, 1/2 hour into first use right handle fell off. Went to store to get new bolt and Joe the sales guy laughed about it. Parts counter guy tried to charge me for the new bolt (which they had to order). Main office customer service rep called to see how the purchase went and when I explained the entire experience she said the store manager would be calling, never did hear from anyone else.Absolute horrible customer service!Ended up going to Weingarts in Novi for 2 additional purchases.
Took a gator diesel in to remove a broken glow plug. Service tech improperly replaces belt cover after breaking water pump which caused the mount holes not to line up. Tech still has the radiator hose hook that attaches to bolt holding belt cover on. Tech didnt inform me 702 were wrong glow plugs. Driveshaft wore through hose while running down road. Overheated and quit. Now compressions out of spec and barely starts.Doug (service manager) denies fault claiming 1500 hours is beyond useful life of yanmar diesel motor. Wont even replace missing hardware, damaged belt cover or wrecked radiator hose much less comp engine costs. All of those are costs I have to cover because of their incompetence? No integrity in their service department. Id look for another John Deere/Yanmar service facility because these idiots are schooled only in denial.
Do not return phone calls. No loaner mowers while my lazer z in for warranty work. 300hrs on machine. Waited at service desk for 3 mins before anyone asked if I needed Help.
Absolutely believe in using local businesses, even knowing prices may be a little higher. Wow the price tag on goods and services here are through the roof! Do your homework before going here!
Very helpful and straight to the point when I needed their help with a purchase. They had the Farm Boss in stalk and ready to go for me when I went in. Was in and out in 10 mins. Would highly recommend them for your Stihl needs.
Very helpful and knowledgeable.
I dropped off a Stihl hedge trimmer for some minor repair and a tune up. I asked what my cost would be, they said we dont give rough estimates, we have to look at it, quoted 2 weeks. I got a call back they said $220, the unit new was between $500-600 bucks retail. How outrageous was that over 1/3 original purchase price! Oh and I forgot to mention, we will be charging you $40 to give you a quote if you refuse to move forward. I can buy the replacement parts on Amazon for under $20 dollars, there is a YouTube instructional video that estimates 30 minutes to perform what I needed to have done. Sorry D&G, you just lost me as a customer, for good. I spoke to two friends since then, they told me similar stories of disappointment with this place.
Always there when you need updates on your tractor. Nothing runs like a Deere!
Stopped in a few months back and purchased a Exmark Radius. I knew that their prices were higher than most but wanted to support a local business. When I purchased they told me they would need to build it and after that it would be a week before they could deliver. I told them I was happy to use my trailer to pick up which I did. When loading I noticed a gouge in the plastic, it was small so I didn’t mention it. Within my 2nd mow I tried starting the mower, it cranked then nothing, just clicking (approximately 5 hours on machine) caller d and g they asked well did u try jumping it? I answered yes but also stated this is a new unit I shouldn’t have to. I then told them about gouge. They stated they would pick it up. Got a call back and was told the starter was bad and they would replace plastic. Ok, I’m thinking bad luck? Got it back now the machine has 8 hrs on it from them I’m guessing testing it. First mow after getting back I stop after a hour to run and grab a water come back (maybe gone 2 minutes) out mower cranks but won’t turn over. I call d and g told them what was going on they stated we will pick it up, I told them listen u guys have already supposedly fixed this issue I shouldn’t be having to bring a new machine back every week. Store manager told me come in I’ll give you a interstate battery the batteries that exmark give u with machine are not that great. Went in picked it up installed it, mower starts. About a week later about every other mow if I ever shut it down for a minute it would not start back up. It happened 3 times before I called back again, they picked mower up again. Few days had passed I called said I’d hadn’t heard from them. Shortly after, the store manager contacted me and said a fuse was blown. I asked well something had to blown the fuse, so what was it?and he responded by saying well I can’t answer. I then asked him isn’t this a bit rediculous that a customer is dealing with so many issues when the store has put more hours on the machine than I have, and I can’t get any answers, maybe I need to call Exmark? His response was yeah maybe you should but really sure what you will get out of it. I said all I want out of it is my mower to work right. I called Exmark told them the story, was told that it was unacceptable and that I would be contacted back. Never heard back from them. Was contacted back by the store manager at d and g and he had no clue what he was even calling me for. Never got a single answer. I apologize for the long review just hoping that this reaches the next person thinking of doing business here. They preach good customer service but they are far from it. Stay away if all possible. (Side note: every time my mower was returned it was on dead empty, including when I brought it home from purchasing it) Bad business
Staff was rude at the parts department...
They almost always have what I need for my old John Deere 430. Excellent service and lots of neat new shiney tractors to drool over
I have bought a chainsaw and a zero-turn from D&G, one of the worse mistakes in my life. I go there because they are close to where I live, but every time I either got to buy something or use a service the customer service is super unfriendly, almost like they dont even care youre there trying to buy their expensive products. I have also gone back a couple of time for service on my chainsaw and same thing, whether you call-in or stop by they just seem like theyre bothered to try and help you. One time I walked in and there where 8 workers on the floor, I walked up to the counter where one lady was just flipping through manuals and waited 10 minutes before anyone even tried to help me..... I was the only customer in the store! If youre looking for customer service and not just a sales pitch which will then blow you off... just a heads up, dont shop here.
New John devere tractors and all the parts you could need. friendly and knowledgable staff to boot
Great service everytime I go there.
I purchased a John Deere 1025r from there (Because they are 2 miles from my house). I paid $19,000.00 .... I waited weeks to get the tractor, I asked for a Saturday delivery (which they do). It was delivered on a Friday with no notice or me being there so they could show me how to use any of the attachments, the fuel tank was also on empty. I had to call and find out where the manuals were so that I could make sure I was using the attachments correctly allowing me to move the tractor they left out in the rain into my garage. Instead of throwing a fit, I just bought a trailer so I can take my service to Mid-State Equipment Sales in Fenton. (Where I plan to purchase a backhoe attachment from soon). I later got a call from D&G Corporate asking if I was pleased with my sale and I said no, they said they would make up for it and have someone help me with the tractor and maybe a fuel card... I never heard anything from anyone again.... At least that made me feel justified in buying a trailer to take the tractor somewhere else...
Ok only local Stihl dealer for parts
Hard for me to do business with a company that will not return phone calls. Ive taken my business elsewhere.
If you can afford higher priced equipment than this is your hard to find parts store
Best tractor dealer around!
I have a jhon deere 790 that I bought off of family. After getting it home I realised that It needed some parts and service....Andrew in parts and jhon the service tech have exceeded my expectations and have been a huge help. They have been working with me for the past 2 weeks to get my ole deere back to 100% would highly recommend d&g in howell.
These people treat you as a number horbial staff over priced and maintenance will charge you 10 times what it cost to really fix I know l lot of people that work in the store and the most disrespectful people are the mangers and mantince!!!!!! NEVER get anything fixed here and do NOT go here spend the extra time to go to wingartz
So close to home, even purchased a tractor this year from them. I am glad they are close by in case of support.
Tremendous knowledge on customer need, and how to best help
Always helpful
Every item is over priced compared to other dealers, and today was no different my $60 part was $77 at d&g and they dont care when u bring it up, just say they dont set the prices, when I can I drive an hour to get my parts elsewhere except for emergencies
Love John Deere Products!
Good assortment of Stihl products
I buy parts from here periodically and know that they are expensive.
Helpful staff and pleasant
