Im 2 years delayed in writing this review! When I inquired online I was very nervous about acquiring a diamond and fashioning a ring. I had looked into rarecarat.com and other websites and had gone to a few showrooms to look at stones so I had an idea of what I was looking for, but was still very lost. Nick was extremely patient, and sent me two mockups of ring settings based solely off of descriptions - the second one absolutely nailed what I was looking for. He was very understanding when I told him what I wanted to spend, and that I was trying to get this ring on a medical residents salary.Then, he accompanied me to a Houston based stone dealer and tolerated me looking at each one with a loupe until we found the one that I wanted - we mustve spent an hour and a half there. His book was really helpful and I let my buds borrow it when theyre looking for rings themselves.Despite my delay in initiating the process (I chose the stone 3 weeks before I proposed), Nick got everything done way ahead of time, with weekly check-ins on progress and had the ring delivered 4 days before my proposal date - he helped me find the jewelry insurance which I still use now.We went back for both of our wedding rings and the process was flawless, including resizing. Nick is obviously a guy who cares about his reputation, craft, small business, and making his customer happy. I would work with him again in a heartbeat.

I recommend Mint Diamonds to anyone looking to purchase a diamond for the special person in their life. Nick does an awesome job working with you to create something special and unique to fit you. No dealing with show room salesmen, just one person who cares about making a great product to fit your needs and your budget. The book he provides about picking the right diamond for you is super helpful too. Certainly would recommend!

Nick is an absolute GEM (pun intended). He is of the utmost professionalism - I wish I could get more than a ring from him just to have the opportunity to work with him repeatedly. Nick personally handled my custom order from cradle to grave and I cannot start to begin how much BETTER it was than dealing with a chain store employee.The ring was completely customized based on photos I was able take of a ring that I knew my girlfriend liked. He nailed it PERFECTLY.The quality is of course 10/10 and the price was lower than expected, so that was nice.I’ll be getting the wedding band from Nick as well as anything else she wants in the future. I cannot recommend Mint Diamonds enough- while I didnt personally work with Nick I was on the receiving end of one of his beautiful designs and could not be happier with it! My finace worked with Nick to design my custom engagement ring and it far exceeded all of my expectations. After I said yes I loved hearing about all of the details of the design process and how smoothly the process went. I was so touched that my fiance chose to go with Mint Diamonds because I had frequently commented on how beautiful one of our friends engagement rings is which is from Mint. I am often stopped by people telling me how beautiful my ring is and asking me where it is from!

Nick was awesome! He spent the time to get to know you and really understand what exactly youre looking for. Not once did I ever feel pressure to make a decision on the spot like other retailers did.
