Delicious!! I got mango with the toppings of strawberries, mangos, and mango syrup. I didn’t understand why there was an extra charge for the mango & mixed berry flavors. The wait time wasn’t bad! Loved the booths & seating options. The floor was visibly dirty and slippery so a bit more attention to cleanliness would be appreciated. I will return as soon as I can!

The shaved ice is pretty good, but the staff was a bit rude when they felt overwhelmed. No customers were rude. We ordered a shaved ice and a drink, when the shaved ice came we asked where our drink was and then sat patiently waiting and eating our shaved ice. After 15 minutes we asked again and then heard some very rude comments made by the staff to each other about us. It took 30 minutes to get that drink. Management should have a meeting with their team about this.

Great place for dessert ice cream with different fruits topping. It is a huge portion if you ordered late or Mountain. I have Mango ice cream, top with red bean, mango, jelly mango and regular jello. The large cost about $7. I would give it a 5 if their Tapioca drink is good. My little girl ordered a Thai Tea Tapioca and it is way too sweet.

First time here and recommend by my husbands uncle and aunt so we all stopped by after dinner. We tried the Durian Lychee shaved ice with strawberries, mangoes and chocolate drizzle. So heavenly light and airy. Its like eating snow! Family with us got the mango crepe and I had tasted it. Thinnest crepe Ive ever seen! Tasted yummy with the whipped cream.I was hoping to go back before we left town to try their drinks but didnt get a chance. Must come back next time were in town.I can totally understand why its one of top dessert shops and has 600 Yelp reviews.

I used to live in Dallas and went to a place called Lumi Snow that was Taiwanese Ice Cream. I fell in love with it and it is now my favorite dessert because it is so light weight and flavorful. Sadly they closed down in 2019. Ever since I have been on the hunt for a new place similar. I moved to Houston area and found this place and it is extremely similar to the place I used to go to. Please never shut down!! I love this place! I hope more people start trying the ice cream like this. I think it could really be popular if more people knew about it. I am surprised there are not more places like this. Anyways, it’s delicious!

It is a must try dessert place if you are craving for fruit topping and snowflake ice. However, their crepes are just just fine.My first time to be here, my friends and I were craving for some sweets with fruit toppings. We settled for mango crepes, chocolate overload and berries. In my opinion there are a lot of things that they could have still improved like making the crepe more fluffy and make better food presentation, quicker service as well. Nu Cafe is also known for Snowflake ice, which is also a must try. We also had a good conversation with the owner, Ms. Christina, she asked for our siggestions and discussed the stores innovations and achievements. The owner is really nice, very open-minded and caring for her customers.

No matter how full you are you have room for nu ice.Ive been a total of 3 times and Ive enjoyed each experience quite a lot. The staff is polite and the music is always a good volume. The nu ice itself is plentiful and fluffy. The toppings are fresh and well portioned. The Thai tea was extremely sweet but the boba was a good texture. Ive had overly chewy boba before but I enjoyed this. The hill is enough for two people. The mountain size is big enough for even more.

Since my Yelp review, I have already been back 4 times and every time I leave happy. The ice always melts in your mouth and is very light on the tongue yet it still packs a powerful punch in terms of flavor. There are many types of snow cones out there, but I stand by my original statement: I am now spoiled; no other snow cone is good enough anymore.I continue to enjoy how highly customizable the dish can be. All of it being incredibly delicious! I have a lot of fun seeing my friends reactions to the experience. It is so far a unanimous winner of an experience. On a side note, I liked how they had an info board that gave some fun facts. It was interesting to learn about tea and some history. I have yet to try the tea, but, if this dish is any indication, I have high expectations.I am certainly looking forward to my return trips and will continue to find many excuses to drag people here with me.

16 ice flavors: almond, avocado, chocolate, coconut, coffee, durian, green tea, lychee, mango sorbet, milk tea, mixed berry sorbet, peanut butter, sea salt caramel, strawberry, taro, vanilla milkSyrup and topping selections (to be updated)What sets this place apart? The shaved ice: it takes them 10 hours to make, and they say that all flavors are natural. The ambience: new, swish booths and tables, very Taiwanese--feeling. Great selection of ice flavors, toppings and syrup flavors.Prices:Hill: $5 for 1 flavor of ice + 1 topping (eg, almond jelly, flan, boba tapioca pearls, strawberries, etc) + 1 syrup topping.Mountain: $7 for a larger sized shaved ice (not sure if its 2 flavors?), 2 toppings + 2 syrups? (to be confirmed)Additional toppings cost $0.75 each. Boba and milk teas are $3.50, which I believe is slightly cheaper than at other places. I do not know the sizes of the teas or smoothies.Ode to Shaved Ice:Oh how I have missed you!(London, Barcelona, Paris et al have bubble tea only)Finely shaved, so fluffy are youToday I had green tea.So many more to try...My mouth is happy.

This place is amazing! I loved experiencing this shaved ice that Ive been hearing about. First, this location is in the middle of Chinatown, where parking is a feat, so make sure you walk with patience....or park in the parking garage :)I decided to try the mountain sea salt caramel shaved ice, topped with condensed milk. Needless to say, this soft, savory, yummy ice cream substitute just totally bumped frozen yogurt from the first spot on my list of ice chiller favorites. We were pretty lucky to find a seat, in the otherwise overwhelmingly crowded store. My plan is to visit the Galleria location and frequent this location, instead of grabbing froyo.

Looking for something different, look no further. Nu Cafe has an assortment of fizzy drinks, bubble drinks, and ice cream that will keep you busy for several visits.Located in the largest Chinatown shopping center, its surrounded by many restaurants offering a huge variety of asian food & cuisine. Nu Cafe makes the perfect end to your asian dinner.Nu Cafe features Taiwanese Ice. Which is a variation of your standard ice cream. Taiwanese ice is prepared with more water than milk, frozen into a solid block and then shaved off using a food processor type machine that cuts paper thin layers of ice cream. You then select a fruit, bubble, or gelatin topping, and sauce of your choice, and it all comes out on a plate stacked up little a little mountain of snow.Vanilla? Chocolate? sure.. but what about, almond, durian, mango, taro, & lychee? Your sure to visit more than once, or share your order with someone because you cant make up your mind.Toppings include about a dozen types of fruit jelly (gelatin), fresh fruits, marshmellows, chocolate chips, brownies, & candies. To add to all this, drinks with syrups and sodas, boba, smoothies, teas, and other items are offered as well.My personal favorite is the Vanilla Ice, with a side of rainbow jelly & sweet and condensed milk on top. This is an amazing spot to try something new, its a great place to take the kids, and the perfect way to end your evening in Chinatown.

My visit was pre-covid in Feb 2020.The shaved ice cream comes in 2 sizes: hill or mountain. I assure you, both options are huge. To order, there is a slip of paper near the counter that you need to fill out. Youll indicate size, flavor of ice cream, and toppings. With the hill, you can choose 2; with the mountain you can choose 3. I think it goes without saying that the sweetened condensed milk is the best option. I would opt for fresh fruit for a 2nd option. We chose M&Ms, but I would not recommend, When the M&Ms get cold, they are hard and not very pleasant to eat.The staff seemed disinterested in helping us order as first-timers. But they were able to kick out our dessert in less than 5 minutes. They have napkins on each table. We were able to easily find a seat that fit our group of 8. Go for the food, not for the atmosphere.

The service was super nice, the lady that helped me was so patient and had a genuine smile on her face, and the bubble tea I ordered was actually pretty good; however, it wasn’t too too cold so that’s my only complaint. Other than that the atmosphere was great, tables were cleaned, costumer service was perfect, and the flavor of it was great! I would definitely recommend this place to other people. For sure better than an other tea place nearby, where the costumer service is straight trash and drinks aren’t that good.

Luckily I manage food service so I recognized this right away, it could have made someone else very sick. I understand food service can be difficult, but the level of negligence and lack of professionalism is quite concerning. Recommend retraining staff to understand operational hours and procedures arent subject to change due to personal choice. The best dessert in china town! If it is your first time here I recommend starting off with the Vanilla Milk flavor in a hill size. Get your sides of mochi and maybe a flavored jelly like mango, finished with a sweetened condensed milk drizzle on top. It is so heavenly and lightly sweet, with a smooth texture. It never gets crunchy like some snow cones can get, it is a completely different texture that is much softer. The blended coffee drinks here look extra sweet and indulgent, perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

The ice here is not bad at all, it just tastes a little different than others. I ordered the flavor of mango and coconut. The mango is sour and the coconut has a strong artificial flavor. I think their ice is made from powder or other human-made material. Overall, the atmosphere is quite like the look of Chinatown, the bench and the overall style, simple and very restaurant feeling. For me,the experience is not very surprising, not as amazing as my friend said.
