I brought in for cleaning an antique rug my great-grandparents bought while living in Turkey in the 1930s which probably has never been professionally cleaned in its whole life. I was nervous about getting it cleaned since its an heirloom piece and means a lot to me, but I had read stellar reviews about David Oriental Rugs on several sites. They lived up to their reputation! Their store was spotless, even the steps and hallway leading to the entrance were clean. They were kind and attentive, patient in answering my questions, and advised me to have some repairs done where the edges of the rug were starting to unravel. About a week later I was notified it was ready for pick up. The total cost, including the repairs and a rug pad they sold to me at cost since I had had the cleaning done through them, was what on-line estimates said it would cost for just cleaning a rug of my size. I was so happy with the price, the rug turned out beautifully, the repairs were professional and I am very happy. They gave advice on how to clean and care for the rug. Cannot recommend them enough! I received 3 rugs yesterday that were sent to David Oriental Rugs for cleaning. Mahan came to the house to collect, wrote an invoice for the cost to clean, and returned the rugs about 2 weeks later (as quoted). When returned, he & his associate removed my furniture, placed the rugs & re-arranged the furniture back. The customer service was excellent & the rugs looks great. Hand an amazing experience at Davids Rug store. Went in to have some rugs cleaned which by the way came out amazing, but not only did they do a wonderful job cleaning my rugs, they also were able to sell us some beautiful Modern Rugs. The current rugs that we had were older and more traditional but we were looking to upgrade to newer colors. Their showroom is massive! Entire second floor which was a surprise to us. Everything was so neat and organized which made it very easy for us to find exactly what we wanted. David and his team were so professional, kind and patient with us. I am a Certified Professional Organizer who was working with a client who has several lovely rugs that hadnt been cleaned in close to 30 years. They were moving and we all agreed that the rugs needed to be cleaned before they were moved to the new house. Mahan came to pick up the rugs, carefully measured and assessed each rug. A couple of them he said were not worth cleaning. I loved his honesty about that. He and his assistant rolled up the rugs and took them to their location for cleaning. They turned out looking absolutely amazing. The cleaning brought out the colors and beauty in the rugs. They took their time to do it right and the rugs look amazing in their new home!

I had been looking for the perfect rug to go in my living room for quite some time now. No other shop compares to David Oriental Rugs when it comes to the quality of carpets and customer service. My husband and I visited David Oriental Rugs for the first time recently. I was kind of dreading it based upon our past experience buying antique Persian rugs-they are an investment and there is usually a lot of sales pressure. That was NOT our experience with David Oriental Rugs! I can honestly say that we are now customers for life! Our experience with them and specifically, Mahan, was exceptional. We went in with a few room measurements and a vague idea of what we wanted/needed for our house post-remodel. After a brief description of our home and despite having a huge range of rugs on the floor, Mahan guided us to the most perfect rugs! These are hand made rugs-authentically designed and woven. He also explained the origins/history/art of making the particular rugs he was showing us. Mahan is not only knowledgeable and patient but to be as young as he is, he has a very refined sense of style. Without even seeing a single picture of our house, his choices (and ours with his guidance) were absolutely spot on! The entire process was enjoyable, educational and easy. I do not believe that Mahan would sell anyone a rug they did not need or one that was not absolutely perfect for the space. His level of service is superb and the prices were less than what we paid for antique rugs in the past. I cannot say enough good things about David Oriental Rugs. We are already planning to have Mahan come back out to finish the house. Truly exceptional!

These guys not only have a great selection, they are really helpful in showing a set of examples at your house. They moved all the furniture and put it all back. Also, they are really good at picking rugs that might work. We chose two they brought because they were perfect together and looked great, better than what we had selected. They even moved a large rug we had into our bedroom, picked up the bed and relocated so it could be reused in the bedroom.

I purchased three carpets from David’s Oriental Rugs and the service was awesome. I went int with no idea of what type or color carpet I wanted. Mahan and Albert spent 2 hours going through carpets and let me look at them and compare styles. Mahan was so knowledgeable and patient. He then brought the rugs to my house the same day. I was able to see them in my space and lighting. It was awesome-especially after trying to look at rugs online. The personal service, knowledge and the customer service were beyond compare. I bought a beautiful rug from David Oriental Rugs 2 years ago and recently it got a dark pink stain on it when a drink spilled. I took it in to the store and David spot cleaned the rug and got out the pink stain for a very reasonable price. David and his staff are very pleasant and strive to take care of their customers. He treated my rug as if it was his own. Also, he is honest and trustworthy as he didnt tell me I should have the whole rug cleaned, he said it was too new to worry about cleaning the whole rug at this time with it only being 2 years old and that I could wait another 2 years and bring it back to him and he can clean it then.

David & Mahan have done a fantastic job for us. We have been looking for rugs for my home for months and went to just about every shop in Houston. We flooded during Harvey, so we had a whole house to shop for, and after all the renovation work, the budget was starting to get tight. David had a great selection, and in one stop we found almost everything we were looking for, at a price we could afford. And, they are great to work with - no high pressure sales pitch, just a genuine effort to find us the right rugs for our home.But, it doesn’t stop there. Less than a month after our new rugs were delivered, the dog had an accident on the new living room rug. We followed the directions David & Mahan had given us (Water only!), and then brought the rug back into them as soon as we could. They were able to take care of it with a simple spot treatment, and I couldn’t even tell where the stain had been.We will be repeat customers!

We went to David Oriental Rugs just out of curiosity after seeing the store next door to where we were going. We had never read any reviews or knew about this store. We were so surprised to see their selection of beautiful hand made rugs and very fair prices. David and Mahan took the time to teach us about the rugs and show us every single one from a large pile. We didnt buy anything that day but kept the store in mind. A few weeks later we went back after seeing other rugs and comparing prices in other stores.Customer service was excellent, Mahan and 2 other employees showed us every single rug from a large pile of modern rugs they just received from a brand new shipment. He offered to bring 5 of those rugs to our home that same day so we could see them with the furniture. Not only did Mahan and another employee bring the rugs but they even moved all our furniture to place the rugs and then turned the rugs around so we could see them from both the light and dark sides. He was very helpful and patient while we were trying to decide, and didnt make us feel rushed. The furniture was moved several times and they offered to do it all, very nice guys, we were so impressed. We bought one rug that day and the next day decided to get a second one for another room. Mahan and the other employee came back 3 days later with another 3 rugs and did the same thing all over again. We really appreciate how easy they made it for us. Just bought a BEAUTIFUL Persian rug for my baby’s room and I can’t express enough how much I love it!! What’s more is the exceptional service that Mahan and David provide. Super friendly people and took their time to educate me about each rug I picked out but NEVER pressured me into buying. I really appreciate that. I went back and worth for 3 days because I just couldn’t decide on one rug- they’re all gorgeous. During that time I checked out other places too just to make sure I make a levelheaded choice but nothing beats the superb customer service and price at David’s Oriental Rug. Also worth noting is the excellent repair job that Albert did on our rug! Even threw in a complimentary rug pad!The icing on top: they are honest people not just trying to squeeze every dollar they can make off you. I consulted Mahan about a rug we bought second hand and wanted to know if it’s worth getting cleaned. He told me to bring it in and he’ll assess the rug. They even got right up close to try to find any traces of dog urine (previous owner had a dog, wasn’t sure if there was an accident). I took my Persian rug to David Oriental rugs for an assessment of its condition (I am the 3rd owner) and to have it cleaned and some slight repair. David was of course very knowledgeable about the rug, where it was made, who made it, etc. After cleaning it looks beautiful, it is hard to believe the rug is over 50 years old. If you are looking for a new rug or want someone to help take care of one you already own, this is the place!

Great experiences at Davids store. Weve had several rugs cleaned there and ended up purchasing several more. The rug selection is vast and diverse and we were very pleased with the pricing. David knows his rugs and has the best authentic selection in town. Dont be fooled by the shiny online rug shops. David will pull through as many rugs as you ask him to in order to figure out what it is youre looking for. He also lets you take a few home to try on. You can bring them back and do it again until its right. He and his nephew are very nice and helpful. He has great authentic Persian rugs (and other countries) that are handmade. Most important thing is that we can trust him and we know hes not going to rip us off. Buy from David.

We had an excellent experience with Davids Rugs. We needed two rugs cleaned. I wasnt sure if the second rug was worth cleaning. I appreciated Mahans honesty that the rug in question was not worth cleaning. They came to our home, picked up the good rug and delivered and put it in place. It looked like new! I look forward to shopping for a new second rug at Davids !

David Oriental rugs had everything I needed and more. The colors for my home are gold, cream, chocolate brown, mustard yellow, tans, and David has just what I needed. In my lifetime I have had rugs custom made and even imported from foreign countries and I have not been as satisfied as I am with Davids. I am a lover of antiquities and their merchandise reminded me of when I was a younger girl in my own grandmothers home. Over the years, I have bought several oriental rugs at different stores. About a year ago my decorator introduced me to David as she had been very satisfied with his selection, quality, prices and service. David runs a very professional business. He has a nice selection of rugs and will bring them to your home for you to get the perfect one for your home. I bought a beautiful living room and dining room rug from him. Please note I have not yet received my rug from cleaning, this is based on my initial interaction.We purchased two rugs at auction and knew they would need cleaning. DOR was near my office and has high reviews so I brought it there over lunch. Their guys brought the rugs up to their shop for me, and quickly identified one of them had more severe damage than we realized - and in fact was infested with moth eggs. Because of this I was able to quickly notify the auction and return it.I plan to take their advice to not trust auction rugs, and will stop by their showroom after returning the problematic rug to the auction.

What a fabulous experience and beautiful rugs! I bought a rug from David a few weeks ago, and after getting it home I thought it might be a bit too light for my space. David offered to bring a second option to my home and let me see both rugs, side-by-side in my home. He swapped out the rugs and placed the new one with no hassle at all. Amazing customer service that you just dont get in many places anymore.The whole process from beginning to end was relaxed, no pressure and personalized. Excellent service, quality and variety of rugs. We first visited Davids store and selected several rugs for our living room and dining room area. David then came over to the house to check our open area configuration, natural lightning and color scheme. We selected our top 5 rugs but decided to delay purchase until new furniture arrived. Once the furniture arrived, David and his assistants came to house with 5 rugs and we selected 2. David is very thorough, will provide his opinion based on his vast experience. His assistants are also very professional and friendly. I highly recommend buying rugs from David!!!

After Hurricane Harvey, my decorator introduced me to Davids Oriental Rugs and I purchased 2 rugs. I have been very happy with these rugs. At the time I learned that David cleaned oriental rugs in addition to selling them. Recently, a rescued rug needed to be cleaned. Mahan picked up the dirty rug and delivered it very clean. He did an excellent job explaining what needed to be done and when he got back to the store sent me pictures of the my dogs urine spots that were very obvious under a special light. When he returned the rug, it had been cleaned very well. He gladly put the furniture back on the rug. I highly recommend Davids Oriental Rugs for purchases and cleaning. Their goal is to make the customer happy.
