I have been there with a dodge magnum, 2 Cameros, a F150, and a mustang GT. Each car I wanted something different and AJ seen that I had the best. After working on the Magnum with items I selected, and did not like, AJ knew the only way to keep me happy was to show me only the best. In the Magnum I had 7 screens, that worked together and separately. The system worked with no problems. The F150 had people asking where did I get me system installed, and both Cameros are keeping me happy. If you need tint, or audio done correctly, please go see my friend on FM 1960 AJ

Got here early in the morning, the owner was very knowledgeable regarding what you need for your car audio! Ended up getting an amp and subwoofer!This is my second time here and I would gladly reccomend them to anyone..youre not hustled like other places

Before buying anything please read this review.I wish I had read reviews before going.We were at the flea market one day to waste some time and there was a car audio booth.We dealt with a man named Jose who was honest, kind and all around wonderful.However the 2 radios we wanted were not at the location and he said if we wanted them both at the same time go to their actual store during the week.So we went to this location.Jose was going to include everything the brackets, the harnesses that included the adaptors as well for $900 + tax.On the phone AJ said he would be picking up both radios and would honor that pricing.We arrived to discover he had lied. He did not have the 2 radios that we wanted and gave him the part number for but 2 cheaper radios that we werent crazy about. We were under the impression (because he stated) that they were the same price. However he then says the price will be $1139 including tax. We just went with it, ignored all the red flags because we had been excited about this for over 1 week of back and forth with them. Hes also impossible to get on the phone and it seems like no one else in the shop knows anything about anything. So Id imagine hiring staff members that are knowledgeable would help that issue.Then within 24 hours we realized it actually came out to over $1300! Im not sure where the lies stop with this business.Thankfully we did NOT pay cash for this and used ACIMA because Ive used them in the past and had wonderful experiences of course as long as you pay before the 90 days. So we contacted Acima to process the return.They called me back today and said AJ claimed no return could be processed because the parts had been installed. He shamelessly lied to them because NOT a single thing was installed on our trucks. Within 15 minutes I sent photos to them of everything brand new as we got it in the boxes.This business is nothing but liars. We are business owners and I will not support a business ran by dishonesty. As I wouldnt expect people to do business with us if we lied.

I did not know anything about my car, but I wanted to surprise my dad for his birthday so I took the car to frequency and Mr. Singh knew exactly what to do and helped me out. Definitely will recommend to others!

Owner is great hell really work with you to get the best price. The workers seem a little impatient I guess because of their heavy workload. But overall this establishment is good.

Swindled!!! Stay away from this business…run in opposite direction!!! Charged husband $600 to install own equipment (door speakers, subwoofer, and Kenwood unit) and took 3 days when they promised it to be done in 1 day. Husband had to miss a day of work due to no transportation. Additionally, this company left his brand new truck with no audio whatsoever, radio didn’t even work & would not fix without trying to charge another almost $400. Um, nope. Took truck immediately to another car audio shop and within 20 minutes of looking over A Frequency Audio shop work showed us some major flaws, even voided Ford warranty by connecting things incorrectly and made hole straight through firewall of truck so now water can get inside. Just run far and fast from this business.

I dont recommend no one to get their audio here. They over price for the work they do. They installed some amps and door speakers on my truck which all I wanted was them to re-wire my system. They used my wires that I had previously had in my truck supposedly they use their own wires smh. Then not to mention I had led lights on my wheels and they messed that up which had nothing to do with the work I told them to do on my truck. Called the cops on them so they had to fix my stuff...the owner gave me $100 credit and when I went back to use it, they want to say I have to come back.. I recommend NO ONE TO GO HERE... BAD SERVICE

I was referred to this business by a family member. Apparently the original owner that they dealt with in the past is no longer living rest his soul. I came here to get tint and put a radio in my 2004 Nissan Xterra. The man in charge seemed nice gave me a whole sales pitch about the tint then proceeded to charge me upfront to make an appointment since the work couldnt be done that day. He also took me radio claiming to need to get everything ready to install and he would need my car from 9am - 6pm the next day to do the work. I complied but later came to my senses and decided this wasnt how I wanted to do business. before the work was done I wanted to change the deal we had to a cheaper package and was denied. So I ask for my money back and was told no refund even though I had bought nothing and the work was not even started. Now its been 3 days since I dispute on my card but they will not return my radio. The owner/salesman is never here and cannot be reached by the employees here. They say they will treat you like family but you are nothing more than a dollar sign!

STAY AWAY IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE!! I wish I would’ve done my research prior to coming here! If I could give 0 stars I would! Please do your research at other locations before coming here. I brought my 2017 vehicle, spent over 1k for installation, back up camera and screen. The kit installed on it made the new screen be at the bottom, my Bluetooth statics, the ac triggers. I’ve taken it in 2 times with promises from the owner Singh that it will be repaired and it’s all lies! I asked around and found someone who is willing to Install it the correctWay!!! This place is unprofessional and their technicians have NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL.

Im a little premature on my review, for this experience, but theyve taken care of me in the past & they, not only did exceptional work, but their work lasted. I will be back for an alarm on my other truck. Their showroom, here, isnt for demonstrations, IMO, but to display the plethora of goods they sell. Kenwood, JVC, Sony, Pioneer, Alpine, Boss, Memphis, Rockford Fosgate, and so many more represented between several shops! If I had $10k to blow on toys, I could do it here. Love this place! **Back again for Sirius Radio - $400+ below Ford price, clean install, & a cooler interface because I dont have the big screen stereo. Exceptional deal, IMO.

Pricing is all arbitrary so be careful of price gauging. I was over charge for light replacement. I asked for an itemization of the parts I paid for and all prices were made up on the spot. After the lights were replaced, I had parts missing. Most importantly, customer service is horrible; the main guy is rude. If you choose to go with this business i advise that you pay upon completion of services and a thorough inspection of the work done. Overall I would not recommend this business

Brought my truck in for tint back in August. I came in and spoke with parris where we agreed on pricing for carbon tint on my tacoma, never seen him but he claimed to be AJs son lol whatever... When I came back to pick it up I noticed these gaps on the back window. He claimed the back window was impossible and would require a sketch up. So after a few months of BS from Paris, AJ, and Singh I was lable to get them to fix my tint, but I had to go to the champions forest location since parris was there. I arrive and he pulls out his magical tint marker. This place is a joke. They will not admit their mistakes and will continue trying to avoid you. I got ahold of Singh and then I went back to the original location that day to have it fixed once and for all so I thought. I had the back window redone and it looked better but then I noticed they used 5% tint instead of the 18% I had on before. Pathetic in terms of service and quality. You will waste your time here. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Don’t bring your car here for anything. Won’t stand by there work. Paras no longer there. Now I know why they wanted cash only. Having problem with stereo on two of my vehicles. Want to charge just for looking at it. Guys in the back didn’t even know how to work the settings on the stereo. Good luck if you do take your car there.

Not good service, Im very disappointed

Do not get anything done from this shop! I arrived at 9 am when they opened because my factory radio finally gave out. After a little haggling I settled on a pioneer radio and gave in to the back up camera. Its funny hiw everything seemed rushed but I didnt leave till 2 pm. Beware! No a/c in waiting area. Before I left the dash clock wasnt secured, they seemed like it wasnt a big deal that they could just use tape to try and secure it! I had them remove the radio and fix, but in the process they cracked my dash more. Also before I left wasnt getting any stations and was told that I needed an adapter they didnt have. So why and the hell would you not check before install and hope the customer doesnt check. Horrible place please dont waste your money or time. I will be getting it fixed somewhere else because I dont trust them to fix their on mistake.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced

Be certain that you get the negotiated price IN WRITING before allowing them to work on your vehicle. We came here in good faith and after negotisting a price with the sakesman and owner, we let them start on on our vehicle only to come back later to find that we are being charged $140 extra. The guy says, sorry, you must have misunderstood me. Bull$hit!On top of that, im being gouged on the radio equipment that i bought but thats totally my fault because i should have done my research before hand. I had a good experience with them in the past and just assumed id be taken care of. Not so much! I drove 40 miles to get here, bypassing countless other shops, just to do business with theseguys and all i got was violated. i will never do business with them again!

The other location down 1960 is much better than this the guys on duty middle eastern guy and bald Hispanic man were very short with me from beginning to end I went down to the other location and paid for the tint there and not once was I asked how I wanted it tinted until I said something and the Hispanic guy still wasn’t to worried on what I wanted on top of the fact that he tried to charge me 150 for an at most 80 dollar job on top of all this they kept slamming the door that they went into the work area in which really made me feel unwelcomed last but not least there is no A/C in the cramped waiting area will not be returning to this location and try to avoid it at all cost.

Poor way of doing business. I would never recommend this place to anybody. I went there and purchased a stereo from them. When they installed it they didnt have the adapter that was needed for the dvd player on the stereo. This was on a Saturday, they told me to call back during the following week to check on the part. When I did, they told me the part was still not available and that they would contact me within the next few days. Here I am almost 2 months later and still no call from them. I ended up having to go somewhere else and paying extra for a part that was supposed to be included with the Pioneer stereo I purchased.

The guy at the counter sold me a planet audio amp and told me that they are high quality but after I spent the $100 I found out that I was sold junk. He just wanted my money. I will never be back and I will be letting Harris county know about this business

Marcel sold me a real pack of crap. First he sold me a car stereo that turned out NOT to be the one I purchased and paid for...some cheaper knock off. When called on it...he laughed and then had his installer switch it out.THEN, sells me a power antenna that is a 10 minute job. Came back this morning to find out the installer told him that it is NOT a 10 minute job, as the fender and front bumper have to be removed to install the antenna on a classic vehicle (let an audio place do body shop tasks on a classic car, oh hell no). Marcel REFUSED to refund my money. He was also heard to say to another employee (that he didnt figure I could hear)...dont tell them they can use their current antenna, you dont make sales that way. Complete and total JERK.I will now let my credit card company, the BBB and the Attorney General deal with them. All cases were filed today in 10 minutes! HA! Gotta love technology!

This company has helped me with many of the installations that I have gotten for my car including subs, and other audio installs. AJ (the owner) has helped me a lot as far as pricing and more. I would recommend this place for all who want great products that are high quality and high on the market and very good prices. I have tried other places and A Frequency Car Audio offers prices that cannot compare to others. Aj went above and beyond to make sure I didnt get screwed and even fixed issues I had from my own dealer that werent his responsibility. Really awesome local shop that looks out for their customers. I came to get a radio and got a better one than I expected, cleanly done and FAST. Once they got to my car, I was out in 45 minutes with a new radio that works flawlessly.

Very sloppy work, rushed through my truck. I was there four plus hours, I was more than patient.I have a lifetime warranty on my tint at least that is what I paid for... so that sucks. Also, the amp that I brought in that was broken they kept after I had asked for it back, so that I could return it to, whom I bought it from and I was then told that I gave it to them....I did not realize it wasnt in my backseat until I made it home. Which is not down the street. So make sure your things are either returned or not even in your vehicle period because you may not get it back. I tried calling back,, its hard to get through, I paid $400 for tint and speaker installation (I had the speakers already) talked to others and I was told, that was a lot to spend. for they type of sloppy work that was done.I ended up there, because of the good reviews!!! I didnt write a review right away, I was still waiting for my return call for my amp, thanks for your honesty guys its been long enough....

I was shopping around on Friday for and upgrade to my factor installed equipment. Stopped by frequency and they offered what seemed to be a good deal. I arrived at noon and they finial finished at 5 installing a sub and replacing the factory speakers. i discovered the next day that I was getting noise when my system when it was turned off, so I returned to their store, and was told that they did not have time to help me and that I should return on Tuesday which I did. on Tuesday when i returned, I was then informed that it would cost me an additional $75.00 to repair the issue. I wish that I had read the reviews before doing business with them. I have always upgraded the factory system on all of my vehicles, this is the first time that I was charged to fix something with an install issue. Do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else.What terrible, awful experience, the equipment they sold me didnt work right, noises coming from the stereo, now I here wind noise in my door which I did not before. This is a correction to my premature review at first i though I was get in a good deal, i was dead wrong. go with the big electronics stores save yourself a headache and money. Once their stuff is installed on your car you cant return it and get your money back even if you do it next day, my first and last visit to that and any other small car stereo store. Very disapointed you guys want 5 stars earn it!!! The 1 and 2 stars on this reviews came from real costumers.

He immediately made me feel at home so I could make the choices under an at ease state of mind. After I left I even had a small issue to address. Took the car back and the issue was corrected right away. I didnt have to wait. I like this place.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! I would like to give it ZERO stars! I brought my car there and purchased 4 new speakers, amp and some output device that it turns out I didnt need. First, they kept my car for 2 weeks based on the claim that their tech, Marcus, was out sick. So, they had his brother do the install. He damaged my door panels and some of the other panels in the car. When I went to pick up my car, I had a lot of engine noise through the speakers. I took it back and left it with them for 2 more days and it was never looked at. I was told I could pick up the car and bring it back when they were not as busy. I brought it back and they put a filter on the amp but it did not solve the problem. AJ, the owner, told me to take it to their other location because the techs there were better. I did that, they kept for a day, yet the problem persisted. I finally got tired of dealing with them. I took my car to Car Audio Zone off I-10. I was told that the initial install was done completely wrong; they installed it from the wrong source, the amp was not the right kind of amp due to my car having an amplified antenna (which the manufacturer sends instructions with the amp to not install in these types of cars), the output device that they sold me for $200 was not needed and was not the right one to install with the Memphis MR amp they sold me. I spent over $800 dealing with Frequency for nothing!!!! TAKE HEED! DO NOT DEAL WITH FREQUENCY!!!

Dont let the owner fool ya with his sugar coating words hell finds his way to hustle you got me for 200 on installing tents and got me there for while and they werent busy that time . This place is a rip off. Horrible customer service. Sloppy job on tint. When I dropped my car off Raymond told me the tint on my car was about an 30% he said I would need to remove old tint and add new tint I told him I wanted to go darker he suggested 18%. When I got back 5 hours later my tint still looked the same!! I looked at multiple pictures and videos online 18% looked darker. And mines is sooo much lighter. I had 3 small bubbles in one of my mirrors the bubbles were still there. Thier were multiple bubbles in ALL my windows! I told him I wanted an refund he called the owner AJ he didn’t want to give me a refund. They tried to get the bubbles out after going back and forth with them for 2 -3 hours I still left with no refund and bubbles in my windows. I wish I would of paid with my bank card so I could of disputed it! Oh yea and all the customers that came in while they were trying to fix my bubbles they were complaining about things they had down to there car that wasn’t right!

Avoid at all cost the audio equipment is nock off Chinese speakers and I found out after my door speaker went out not worth the trouble bad business practices and bad customer service the manager was rude and cusses out his customers I repeat again avoid at all cost

This place sucks!!! I went there to get an alarm, speakers and amp. I arrived around 11:00 and didnt leave till 4:30. You have to damn near knock my window out b4 the alarm sounds. (Viper) that is and that bs system he sold me, that was not shown to me b4 being installed they could have kept. The whole time I was there the techs did nothing but complain. I walked to the bk and heard the tech working on my car talking about what he wasnt going to do and taking a different route. I was never given a time limit and I was there with my kids.

Do not leave your vehicle at this place, they over charge you and their products don’t last, their service and quality is poor at best.

Went in there told me I was getting top of the line found out I was getting over charged for mediocre speaker. Then the told me it would only take 45 min 2.5 hours later my car was ready I was a little skeptical about the install so I pulled the door and found sheet metal sews and they cut my door frame just to install some factory size speakers if I had know they where going to cause permanent damage to my door I would never have done. Lastly when I got my car back they left all the trash and boxes from the install in the car.

After visiting numerous car audio shops I finally found my go to shop. Ive gone through several systems in my truck and was never impressed with the sound quality. So I visited the 1960 location and spoke with the owner AJ. I gave him my budget and he worked with me to give me the best price possible so that we could work something out. Their customer service is top notch and their audio work is good. I am very pleased with my kicker cvt 12s and Memphis amp in my truck. If you want the best price around I recommend you going and talking to AJ and tell him what youre looking for. He will hook you up with a system that bumps!

I went here after shopping around at Mobile One, Best Buy and other shops in the area I got the same system installed for about $100 less, the install was very clean they used high quality cables as well.

Bad service, and wayyyy overpriced!!!!! I bought a radar for $300 and found the same one at Walmart for $45
